The Monorail has finally arrived. Yes, the Monorail is now in Springfield….as well as a whole lotta garbage. Loads of Springfielders can help collect junk from town…but one vegan introduced to help increase your rewards is Jesse Grass. Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Jesse Grass to YOUR Garbage Clearing Fleet? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this vegan to YOUR Springfield!
Character: Jesse Grass
Donut Price: 100 donuts
Helps with collecting Junk & Metal as well as Plastic and Glass in future Acts.
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character
-Earns more junk and metal than regular characters (15 Metal, 75 Junk). Will be able to be used in future Acts for Glass and Metal.
Cons:
-Not voiced
-Pricey for a character that does not come with a building/decoration

Premium Take:
Odds are if you’re a premium player you already have Brandine, Uter & Dewey Largo (or at least 1-2 of them)…so Jesse many not be the biggest benefit to you. BUT if you like limited-time premium characters he’s not a bad buy. He will help you earn more trash & metal (as well as plastic and glass upcoming), so you’ll earn Blueprints faster. This is one of those…if you like it grab it characters. Just remember…once the event ends he won’t serve much purpose.
Freemium Take:
This isn’t the worst buy on the board. It’s a premium character that will help you during all 4 acts and odds are if you’re a freemium player you don’t have to many premium characters. So if you’re thinking about picking up a character from this event Jesse should be your guy. Just make sure you grab him early so you can maximize the most benefit out of him…
BUT if you’re hesitate on spending those hard earned sprinkles, pass on this one. He’s still pretty pricey for what he does…
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you as a premium player i’m on the fence with him. If I do grab him it’ll be by this weekend to get the most benefit out of him. However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting him make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games.

With caps on the blueprints, it’s pretty easy to always have full metal/trash, so he’s not that helpful with this event.
I make it a policy not to buy characters (or any premium stuff) just to help with an event, because the event only lasts a relatively short time. If I like the character and it’s a reasonable price then I’ll buy it, and, if it’s a character that can help with an event, I’ll snatch it up faster, so I can maximize its usefulness (like I did with Spider Pig).
However…
So far, all of the premium characters they picked to play in this event are ones that I don’t already have. So, I’m left wondering how possible it will be to achieve all of the goals if I don’t have any premium characters playing? What do y’all think about that?
I mean, if I have to buy a premium character to be able to get all of the prizes, then maybe I would consider getting Jesse. But I have to figure that out pretty soon, or he won’t be of as much use to me…
@Sandra, they forgot to mention that the one hour task is a visual of him dressed as a cow protesting ontop of Krustyburger – if you haven’t seen the other ten plus mentionings of it.
I’ve played many events without extra event characters and always accomplished my goals but I bought him up, can’t explain why exactly but I think part of it because He reminds me of a vegan relative of mine. I’d say let your heart decide not your brain on this one. If your heart wants to pass, I’d say Pass.
Also while I have your attention I just want to make sure it is truely you whom I’m pending a F.Request and not someone trying to scam us Addicts. You never know. just double checking.

I agree with you about not buying premium characters just to help with an event. That said, I had been hoarding donuts (and got a 30-donut gift from the Daily Play 5th Day Bonus recently), so…
I bought Bumblebee Man during the first week of Springfield Heights to help with that. But he was also a decent price, and is one of my favorite oddball characters, and I had been wanting him for a while. He also added a 24-hour task at Channel 6, which I wanted. (I generally set a 24-hour task now at the same time for Channel 6, KBBL and Cletus’ Farm – it helps me to remember to reset them after I clear them, so they continue generating some $$ & XP.)
Then I bought Jasper, also a little bit for Springfield Heights, but also because I already had 2 skins for him in my inventory (Stonecutter and Baseball). I like Disco Stu better as a character, but I didn’t have enough donuts for him, and decided that Jasper would be more helpful than Stu.
I probably won’t be buying any other premium characters for a while. I’m only back up to 52 donuts, so by the time I have enough, there wouldn’t be enough time left to benefit from it. I may buy Otto, when I get that many saved up again, but if I get that far, the Springfield Sign will be calling out to me *as it did right before I got Jasper), and I’ve long wanted to add a Police Car and a Roby the Automaton robot. I’d also love to get a Sprawl Mart or a Try-N-Save. It could take a year to save up enough donuts for all of that, and then there’s always new stuff coming along, and the top of my “want list” for premium items keeps shifting with my mood.
I also have (and really like) Bumblebee Man and was happy to see that he was useful for SH. I think maybe the “equation” is different when it comes to SH, since that’s an more permanent thing than an event. But I still prefer to get characters that make me happy and that I think are a good deal (like Bumblebee Man, Otto, etc.), although I did double check Jasper and Stu when SH came out to see if maybe they were on my list of premium items that I’m leaning towards getting sooner rather than later.
(BTW, “making me happy” sometimes just means “relieves aggravation,” like getting a building so that a character has a task for a time frame they’re missing and that I really want them to have.)

If only Jesse interacted with Lisa I think it would be a better buy (a joint 6hr task maybe?).
I want him, but as one of those players that is right in the middle of being premium and freemium it’s a toss up on when will have enough donuts and from the sound of it unless I get the donuts in the next two weeks or so he may not be worth it.
I like him but the cap makes it really not worth the donuts

I like this character but I keep maxing out on tasks so it’s completely pointless for this event. I maxed out yesterday in the afternoon and already again today😢. I keep wanting to log in and play but my recycle jobs are full and I can’t turn in any more blueprints. I guess I just focus on finishing the remodel of my town for now. I hope they change the cap. The monorail is pretty cool since we can set it up however we like. 😀
I got him right away and I think he’s great. Nice outside tasks practicing yoga and protesting eating meat in the cow outfit. Great addition in my town.
His one hour task sounds great! I’ll keep an eye out to see if I can spot it in a friend’s town. Even so, I think I’m going to pass. I want to save the donuts in case something I like more comes along during the event. Also, from an event standpoint, it seems like he might not be useful as the bottleneck isn’t in earning currency but rather in spending it (with the project cap).
I got him immediately, and both of his tasks feel worth the price tag. I just like seeing him protesting while Snake robs the Krusty Burger at the same time.
I bought him, I think mainly just for someone for Laura Powers and Shawna to fight over (yet they don’t seem interested).
I wonder if this is a sign that we may get the Large Lisa Log (which would hopefully just float in the sea) – yet I don’t think I would want the Log if they made it, only would like to see it just so I can make some sort of Large floating Log and Dump joke.
Finally, I just wish I could see his eyes a little bit better – because I hear they are Dreamy 😉
I’m interested but not excited by him, not sure what to do. Does anyone think they’ll release any more (or better) limited characters this event?
Well at least right now in the character guide screen (don’t know what to call it), it appears that the other characters released with this event are free.
I feel foolish, I totally forgot to check that thing. I suppose they could be keeping any possible other releases quiet. Maybe I’ll hold off to wait and see.
I love the Krusty burger task it is so funny.
The update makes it impossible to store your Springfield Heights buildings, and I just created a bunch of garages with the intention of storing them.
Any chance they will put that back so I can store them?

How could a premium player use Dewey to collect event currency if he’s not a permanent character?

Ok, I’m trying to maintain my composure but… Something happened this morning that has really got me steaming mad!
I was filling projects to earn blueprints, and also took note of the “donut task” requiring like 5 more projects for the next donut bonus…so I thought, I’ll try and do some of the smaller projects and build up more quickly to the donuts! Well, I did ONE small project…an it closed things off for the day! I had enough currency to do a 2000+ blueprint project…but was gonna build up some additional projects for the donut bonus instead.
If I’d have known I was ONE PROJECT AWAY from the whole thing shutting down… I’d have selected the 2000+ blueprint one. Why can’t there be some indication, job counter or something…tell us “HEY IDIOT, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE PROJECT LEFT TO FILL BEFORE THIS SHUTS DOWN FOR THE DAY!!! CHOOSE WISELY!” Seems like a necessary help for us…that’s just not there?

I think the job that rewards you the 2000 Blueprints will still be there and unlocks for you on the next day. It’s still early in the game but I think thats how it works.
The jobs stay until you clear them. They swap around on what you need and the payout from Trash to Metal to Metal & Trash with various rewards on each one. (Though in my game the Metal or combo seem to pay higher. Still playing round.)
I am so excited, since we started to play this game, we always wondered if some day they would do the monorail episode… And now is happening!!

A vegan who does yoga! I grabbed him even before the “Should I Spend Donuts” came up! (A rarity for me.) Yes, he is pricey, but this is a funny questline and definitely a character I needed in my Springfield. Meanwhile, I’m having to store a lot of my other characters or send them inside because of the big memory drain with this event. That seems to have fixed my crashing problems for now. Bliss out, y’all!

Just a thought, but I see myself spending oodles and oodles of donuts to get more track pieces so I can bound my springfield the way I intend, though if I can’t I may be relocating some of my Springfield Heights buildings further out so that I can have a proper loop instead of a monorail to nowhere…

As it stands, Jesse for me is not a sound investment with regards to helping to do event tasks, owing to the project caps. It is easy enough to get the required resources without his help.

I’m not a 100% freemium player, since I’ve used at least $30-40 since I started playing a year ago, but bought Grass with hard earned donuts. Would think it was worth it if I could use him all the time, but I’ve got that irritating cap glitch and could only do the 2 daily projects today before getting the message about having to wait until tomorrow before doing more. Feel a bit ripped off. 🙁 (but still happy to have a new character though).
I did also rush Brandine, but did not get any child. Only lost 5 donuts though. Not the end of the world.
And I’m experiencing the freezes, but I think we have to expect that that may happen now and then when our devices gets older and older. (I’m on an iPad 2)
So what I’m trying to say is that I’m not the biggest fan of the game right now and it sucks to be me. 😀
Jesse is awesome. He’s worth it just from his great task of protesting eating animals. He is in a cow costume on top of krusty burger just like in the episode he’s from. Hilarious!
The 1hr task should say visual as it’s on the roof of krusty burger in his cow costume like in the episode. I did it as pt 1 of his quest line is how I know.
