Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well I’m back from vacation…a nice relaxing week away where I can honestly say I didn’t touch my game once. I guess even the “head addict” can spend some time away 😉 Of course spending a full week away from the game naturally only makes for chaos and confusion when EA throws a new questline at us early this morning. This time around Homer’s a bit worn out (I guess he could use a vacation too…) from being the only Monorail Conductor and falls asleep behind the controls! No worries though, Professor Frink has the answer…and it comes from Glass! (because it’s all about that glass…)
This time around we’re introduced to another depot for our town’s…the Glass Depot! Yes another place for you to turn your junk into “treasure” and add yet another element to the project board.
So let’s break everything down from the Glass Depot to the One Track Mind questline….
So let’s start things off with a quick overview on the Glass Depot…
The Glass Depot will unlock at Part 2 of One Track Mind (see below for questline details) and it works basically the same way the Plastic and Metal Depots works. You turn junk into glass.
Just like Metal and Plastic each turn through the Glass Depot requires 100 
. So for every character you send to the Glass Depot you’ll need to have 100 available.
Each turn through the Glass Depot takes 3hrs, so one hr more than the Plastic Depot.
And each turn through will earn you 10 
for Freemium and 15 for Premium.
And finally, here’s a list of characters you can send to earn Glass:
Quimby 10
Willie 10
Dewey Largo 15
Jesse Grass 15
Bart 10
Marge 10
Moe 10
Glass will work just like Plastic, Metal and Trash…in that you can turn it in at the Project Board in exchange for Duct Tape:
The one KEY difference is the Cap for Glass is much lower…
Your Glass Depot CAP is 70. There is no way to increase this.
So once you hit 70 and you’re maxed out, you cannot increase it you can only spend it.
And yes I’m aware that some of you will point out that you can go over it if you’re close and send all the characters out to earn glass. So yes, there is the potential to go over..but the cap itself is 70, and it cannot be increased. (unless you manipulate sending your characters)

And that’s it! A short little questline with some fun dialogue and interesting twists in the game. It won’t take you very long to complete, as the most important thing is starting to churn out that glass.

For those posting about missing Lisa… I’ve been on phone and Live Chat with EA several times today. First, I was told they would have to roll back my game 24 hours. Which they never did. So I called again… same thing. Finally I live chatted and was told this is a known issue, the studio is allegedly working on it, and an update will be available “Soon.” So… for those of us who can’t progress in the story line, I guess… just keep collecting blueprints for Uriah then… sit and wait. Nothing else we can do. Probably won’t post an update until after the event is over anyway. Or at least until Act 3 starts. Booooo!
I’m annoyed with the cap. Just 3000 away from final prize and now have to wait till tomorrow.

I have been ‘working around’ that some by avoiding collecting trash dumps, opossums, or visiting neighbors until I max the tape from the P.B. All collected tape counts towards that cap. I still release the opossums every 4 hours & they cap at 50 so you just have to collect some of those if you reach the cap before you reach the PB cap. Plus, if you follow Bunnies lead and do the math you can get pretty far over the cap if you collect correctly. 😁 I still this I’m not going to get it today either though bc, my PB is messing up & I can cash in for my BP bc, of it. 😕
For those poor souls without Lisa’s plant, Uriah Heap has a fairly short questline and helps with all aspects of recycling, including glass. This will give you more flexibility, but the 3 hour wait on glass can really slow you down when all 3 projects come up glass.

I don’t even have the option to start the glass depot. I’m one away from completing the Hippie. Should I manually update?
You have to complete the previous questline before that one will start..

I should have not started the glass quest series, it just bottlenecks my projects.
Stored Moes shut down the phone and still Homer won’t go to Moes it’s not even a option in his menu I also checked all of his skins and nothing

I noticed something really small today, haven’t seen it posted anywhere. A lot of my neighbours have red lettering on their Municipal House of Pancakes. I though it was something new so I checked mine and it still had black lettering. Are they hacking? I always delete hackers, can’t be bothered to help em.
No could just be a texture glitch
the lettering turns red when a job is tasked there (helen lovejoy has a 4 hr task there).

always glad to help! and it’s good to have you back! you are lucky to have bunny and wookiee modding this site with you, they did an admirable job while you were away. i imagine they’ll have to take the reigns again for a few days when that bun in the oven is ready… how near is that btw? 🙂

Ack! More 8 hour job for Homer, what a pain when I really need him working on the garbage pile. Not enough people open to be on garbage duty.
If I have a few minutes I tend to put everyone on junk collection for a few goes to top up the dustbins and only then assign the ones that have other recycle duties to metal/glass/plastic etc before I log off again – obviously depends if you can play every 2 or 3 hours, so just a suggestion
Its a juggling act. I’m doing this event AND still trying to max out The Heights buildings. Its a great lesson in time management.
I’ve been to do that fairly well but now with glass going my timing/planing leaves much to be desired. I keep catching myself with only Ray and Homer for junk. I know it will all work out alright but it is a pain in the butt.
Working hard to earn blueprints and then being rewarded with curved and s shaped track pieces instead of the most desired straight track pieces confuses and angers me ! Will the puny earthlings at EA ever offer a trading option ? Like trading several of the useless curved tracks for straight ones.
There is no imperative to get through this mini quest super fast, but you can have homer drinking at moe’s while the glass is being collected.
Has anyone else’s games having issues with building’s and characters missing? .. was playing yesterday and when I went to edit my track and move pieces around, large sections of my town disappeared. Contacted EA later that evening and they tried to fix that only to have my entire monorial, terminals and extra track pieces along with my garbage and recycling centers gone. . Contacted them again this morning and was informed that it as a persistent issue going through some games and they were working on it.. hopefully the bug is resolved soon.. I’ve invested a lot ofttime into this event so far.. dont wanna fall behind. .
Something similar happened to me yesterday; started to move some buildings around and others just vanished, like for instance the Metal Depot. Every time I tapped on a building to move it, stuff around it disappeared and re-appeared. I kept tapping on buildings, but didn’t move them, just tapped on the ‘x’ again, and stopped when all the buildings had re-appeared. I think I lost a few garbage piles, but thankfully I got all the buildings back.
Does One Track Mind pt. 1 start with a dialogue? I logged into my game today and noticed (by coincidence) a new task in my taskbook, but I didn’t get any dialogue or even a pop-up to trigger it…
Yup, some dialogue about Homer being tired.
I’m half surprised they didn’t call the quest line “All About That Glass”.
Let’s face it…EA’s not as punny as me 😉
I can’t seem to let homer do his taks ‘Make Homer Drink at Moe’s’, it’s just not there.
Is anybody else having this issue? Or am I missing something?
(I already tried the usuals of going to krustyland, restarting game,…)
Try storing and replacing Moe’s (warning it will also store Moe and Marge)
He’s not in his conductor skin for that task, change him into normal clothes and see if it’s in his list of tasks 🙂
I love the question about never building the new recycle centers. Question is: Do the new garbage make more money than the previous? They come up so randomly that I don’t think it makes an impact even if it was true.
I noticed that, for the most part (or all), the only characters with trash collecting animations are those with jobs at the dump. Too bad!

Welcome back from a fellow Disney fanatic! Skipped this year because I too have swollen feet and an expanding belly 🙂 My favorite ride is currently Soarin and I can’t wait for the updates!! Your next trip will be even more awesome as the Star Wars land and Pandora at Animal kingdom Will be ready…..I am also a bit of a sci-fi nerd and I can’t wait for the star wars nighttime show!!!! I am so there!!!

Soarin is great, but I’m ready for the updates on it. As I’ve seen the Disneyland version since it first came out in California Adventure…only so many times I can fly over California 😉

Really don’t like that you have to choose which characters are going to do which task to earn resources. It should be like Springfield Heights. Each resource type should have a different set of characters to do the tasks. Too much structured thought and planning at 5am for me.
I pretty much agree, but it is the way it is. Someone had said it wasn’t worth it to get Ray. But, when I send everything on the jobs from glass down to the dump (in descending order), Ray is the only one available to earn at the dump.
What I do sometimes is collect a bunch at the dump before sending the other characters to the longer jobs. This way there isn’t much issue.
For the glass, metal and plastic the only character that has a choice is Jesse Grass. Everyone else is allocated like SH.
The junk is easy as it is so quick, you can restock in a few minutes anyway.

I too have hit Sebastian’s limit for the day and have to wait for tomorrow to build glass depot. oops. it’s all good though as I am way ahead on duct tape.

lol yea we did 1.5 days in Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Blizzard Beach. (and managed to get some time in at the gulf beaches too) Which is WAY less than I’d usually do but 7 months pregnant in scorching FL heat/humidity it was about all I could take. I did however get my favorite ride in (carousel of progress… 🙂 ) and hubby managed to ride all the “crazy” rides with my oldest niece. Plus we did one of those behind the scenes tours..which was really cool. So we had fun, despite the swollen feet 🙂 Can’t wait to go back with the baby in a couple of years!
Wow I have never met someone whose favorite ride is carousel of progress!! That’s my favorite “let’s get out of this heat and take a walking break” ride. Lol.
lol it’s the best ride in the park (and my husband hates it, but his favorite ride is It’s a Small World..so what does he know ;)). I think I love it mostly because it’s Walt’s creation and was his favorite ride. A bit of Disney history…It’s actually the ride that determined if the East Coast of the US was ready for a theme park (Disney World), because a lot of people didn’t think it would work outside of CA. So when he took it to the World’s Fair, it was INSANELY popular..thus leading to the realization that the East Coast was ready…And yea, so Walt personally worked on the ride. Working with the Animatronics to get them just right and mimic real human movements…ie perfect them beyond the tiki room. (you’re welcome for that disney nerd history. 😉 There’s a whole section at the Walt Disney Museum in SF dedicated to the Carousel of Progress with the original model etc. Bunny will tell you, I completely nerded out over it. Y’all have you sci-fi and I’ve got my Disney 😉 And now I’ll shutup because I could go on and on and on about Disney Park history lol

And To think I was going to tease that Hall of Presidents was your runner up! Hahaha, but it’s ok if it is. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Wookie’s! Small World is the WORST. My favorite is and always will be Snow White’s Scary Adventure. Sigh.

Oh Snow White… I know it’s not in DW anymore (but the Mine Train is fantastic…as is everything in the new fantasyland) but I don’t think I’ve done that in years (and it was probably in Disneyland). Have you been since the new Fantasyland Opened?
I haven’t been! The last time I was there was 2010. I just HAD to go down to visit the new HP world at Universal but of course we stayed at Disney. I’m dieing to go back. Or to go to DL. I need to see the Festival of Color. In person, not just on the you tube.
Lol I’m trying to convince my hubby to go to Disneyland this winter (since it’s 60 years) but I’m not having much luck so far.
I did universal last summer with Bunny for a day. We had to see Springfield, but we did the 2 HP lands too. Not the biggest fan but they did a good job with it. I’m just still a way bigger Disney girl lol.

Welcome back Alissa (boss addict who must be obeyed). Reading through yours and Le Kitty’s comments make me jealous. As a child from Oz, Visiting Disneyland was such an aspiration. I did Euro Disney with my son in 1990 but while great, it wasn’t the original. Hubby and I finally did the original on Micky’s 50th (not planned). Lots of people but wonderful. A tick on the bucket list. We took the kids a couple of years later (during U.S. Spring Break, again lots of people) which was awesome. Bucket list still has DL Orlando on it along with EPCOT. We will get there one day 😀😀😀😀
There’s nothing quite like Disney World…it’s just so massive. (although the original Disneyland will always hold a special place in my heart because Walt had a hand in everything there). All the parks and each with their own twist. It’s really impressive..and exhausting! Hubby and I were there last November for our anniversary and did the Turbo Tappin’ version of Disney World. We did 3 parks (I’m not a fan of animal kingdom, mostly because I’m not a big animal fan) in 3 days from park open to close…then we needed 2-3 days just to recover!
It’s really something if you ever get down there… 🙂

It’s definitely annoying, but totally my own fault! I should’ve realized I needed to save tasks for after Homer’s nap
8 hours is more than enough time to max out the daily cap on the project board. so unless you did your research in advance or correctly guessed that you were on the verge of another 5x project board task necessary to unlock the glass depot, i wouldn’t fault you for not realizing it, since the game makes no mention of it until after homer finishes his 8 hour nap.
No problem, stock up on the metal and plastic, the only thing that could hold you up would be a choice of 3 projects all needing glass, and that’s not likely to happen 🙂
we already reached the daily cap for today, so we can’t do any more projects even if we were fully stocked. i was in the game last night as the clock turned 1am, whereupon i did as many projects as i could before needing to stock back up on supplies. it wasn’t until i left my town and came back that homer kicked off his 8 hr sleep task, and i realized that i’d probably need to do another 5x project board tasks… and sure enough i only got through 1/5 projects before being capped for the day.
I’ve already had an instance of all 3 projects requiring some amount of glass at least once. Of course, I had already built the Glass Depot, so I don’t know if iit would have happened if I had not built it. I don’t recall any projects requiring Glas until after I’d built the Glass Depot.
I completely spaced off that Homer had a task pending, and had him doing other things all day on Sunday, then remembered he was waiting to do a task when I read this blog. Oh well – I had him do it overnight, and now he’s drinking at Moe’s while I’m at work. Too bad I can’t trade places with him!

Am I the only one who’s barely getting jobs with plastic though? I haven’t had a job in like 2 days now that required plastic…

Yeah was just about to post this. 90% of the jobs are just metal and trash, I am constantly full on plastic and am always waiting on metal to do the next job. I’ve never actually reached the daily cap.
Nor have I ever reached the cap. I am almost never asked to use plastic and I am wary of glass. I am afraid I won’t get the Hippie.
The past week all my jobs were plastic, plastic, plastic. Took forever to get my cap with a 2 hour wait. Last day it’s all been metal. I much prefer the 1 hour wait on jobs.

what happens if i never build the glass depot?
will i still need glass at the project board or will it only need metal and plastic until i build the glass depot?
If you don’t clear that part of the questline I don’t think glass will appear on the project board, but don’t know for sure. (since i didn’t test it out)
