Just a quick note to let you know the Monorail Takedown is live in the files. So what does that mean? Well it means nothing really at this point, other than we can expect it to hit app stores later today.
Remember this will be an APP STORE UPDATE, so it won’t automatically remove from your game. If you decide you don’t want to remove the event right away, instead you want to try for that last prize, be sure to TURN OFF AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
So to sum up…
-The Takedown update is currently in the files
-We expect it to hit App Stores today between 12pm-2pm.
-If you don’t want to remove the event just yet, make sure you turn off your automatic updates.
Once the update hits we’ll be back to let you know what’s changed and what to expect. Until then keep tap, tap, tapping away…
Can someone please explain to me why the characters are still able to do the tasksfrom the railroad if we are not able to get the prizes anymore??

For some that’s the way it corrected itself, so yes.
Contacted EA for the missing buildings, they gave me the Rosh Hashanah donut thingy again and then I had to buy the buildings again and they are being build now. So it was a quick solution. Very happy about it even if I have to re do the Old Jewish Man’s questline. Just as long as I have it back!
Even though I’m pretty much done with this event (not that it wasn’t good, it was, just done what I want now) think I’ll hold off a bit on getting the update, have some of the buildings that others have mentioned have gone missing. Hope they correct the bug before we are forced to update.
I’m also missing buildings – Overpass cafe, something else which I can’t remember but there’s a gap, and the Maison Derriere! 🙁
Pleasant surprise for me this morning at 5am (EST): The price for Shotkickers (Level 54) dropped down to 230,000 from 530,000. Not sure if this was a glitch due to adding new items to SH but I made sure to start building this item right away in case the price changed back to normal. Looking forward to normal game play for the next month or so before the Halloween event takes over. Hopefully it will be more enjoyable for me than last year. I started playing TSTO during the middle of the Halloween event. Not the best time to try and figure out how to play the game, lol.
Saw something new being added to our game from another informational site (I won’t spoil it for anyone) so I’ll be updating the monorail removal when I get home.
Finished building Shotkickers this morning, was rewarded with 53,000 XP but Ruth Powers shows as only having two permanent jobs – 4 hr: Arm Wrestle for Money and 24 hr: Have a Few Drinks. The other permanent job tasks aren’t listed at all. Guess I shouldn’t have built Shotkickers at that really strange price. I play annoymously- no account, so I’ll just wait and see what happens. I’ve tried storing the building and putting it back but no luck. Maybe after she’s done her 4hr task of Apply to Work it will fix itself.
As for the new thing to hit our games, the update to remove the monorail event seems to have prevented it from happeing according to my other source of TSTO info. 🙁
I don’t think that’s the issue. I don’t think it was planned to hit with the removal at all. Sometimes things aren’t always what they seem in the files. Which is why we NEVER post stuff like that here. I’d rather be the last one posting about something to wait for it to actually hit our games, than give you guys rumored information that may never hit. Because the rumored information just leads to..well when’s it hitting? This person said it was coming, why isn’t it here? EA does what they want with content when they want…that’s all there is to it. Sometimes they throw stuff in just to mess with those looking through the files to see how they’ll respond to it.
Happy to report that after completing A Women’s Work Part 2, Ruth Powers now has a 12hr permanent task listed. I’m guessing EA changed the way they display available tasks when you get a new character from a level. Instead of showing you all the options and having some of them grayed out until tasks are completed from the quest line, they chose to not show them at all until you’ve “earned” them.
The update just hit my iTunes App store, and it is a beast. Prepare yourself for a long update download.

just JUST made the monorail peice thingie. phew. even if i don’t know if i’ll keep the monorail at least i have the option. didn’t want to really drop donuts on it (maybe if it came down to 10 donuts) rather wait out the halloween. It was an ok event. I do agree with some that they should have equaled out the items needed in the daily thing. Alot of metal were needed when my two others were maxed out.
I have lost 3 buildings with this update! My squalor cafe, the pill pharmacy and the 24 hr chapel
They are not in storage. What should I do?

Yes, it downloaded from the App store and upon starting the game seemed to redownload everything.
My old jewish guy was in the squalor on a 24 hr task so I lost him too
Ok I’m seeing another reader comment on the same thing. Best thing I can tell you to do right now is contact EA, let them know what’s missing.
Anyone else finding that their bells & whistles no longer count towards getting any prizes? It looks like I can only get the next prize (a station expansion set, in my case) with donuts only!

This appeared to be the case for me too, but then I just kept going with it as though it were normal, and found that it keeps dropping the price in donuts!! So I’m just hoping to make it to something that I can afford before the event is officially removed.
Well it looks like I won’t be able to earn enough for the rail yard.
I usually don’t mind ending an event without everything but this time it’s different.
If this is the only way I can get new rails, then that’s lame on the designers part.
I had fun with the event but I hope they give others who don’t have a rail yard a chance to get more rails for their cities at some point.
The tennis court bonus has been removed now, they realized of their mistake aww 😭
But it was good while it lasted I guess, 2.25% for 10 Oscar statues was just too good 👌🏼
Meaning you can’t buy new courts with bonus or the ones already bought no longer give bonus?
I still have the bonus for the one that I got before the fix. 🙂
Arg! The update removed my self reliant house, shotgun Pete’s and the center for geriatric medicine!

When you download the update, be prepared to wait – it seems to download *all* the updates.
(They’ve also renamed the Origin Account to EA Account – you don’t have to worry, though: that all stays the same.)
My Railyard today is showing 6+ days remaining. Was the event extended by a week? If so I regret spending those donuts last night to get more rails!
No, the track (& bonuts) that you can earn from the railyard resets every Tuesday, …the railyard is forever 🙂
the railyard is a permanent thing now, resets every week (on tuesday 1am pst)…. so unfortunately you didn’t have to rush anything with donuts, especially if it costed more than the 5 donuts you got as a bonus for reaching 70k.
I wish we’d known that it was still going to be possible to earn the rail yard before the official end of the event. My daughter blew nearly 60 donuts on buying the final resources she needed to make sufficient B&W to get that level 10 prize yesterday.

No idea. no one ever knows. It’s a gamble…
I now need to collect 5000+ bells and whistles to earn one extra track piece. Considering how much easier it is to earn tracks from the rail yard, it seems kinda pointless to keep grinding on the event.
How exactly does the monorail cafe earn donuts??
It doesn’t. It was from visiting a friend after you were maxed out. Lee tapped on the building and got a donut, just like you would if you tapped on a brown house etc for example.
I believe random bonuts are available (along with bells and whistles) before maxing out while visiting neighbors. I got them several times throughout the event.

Yes QUICK buy tennis courts, they changed the price to Oscar statues but left the premium bonus….2.25%, …I bought 8 for 18% increase …now up at 60% bonus on cash + XP

Omg. The tennis cort can be brought for 10 statues and gives 2.25% bonus. They certainly will remove this.

It’s a setting in your app store. (has nothing to do with TSTO, as everything to do with your app store)
I agree that it’s a pain to cycle through those icons before getting to characters… maybe someday they’ll give it it’s own separate icon.
I’m actually glad this event is over. Now for the Halloween events!
is there a way to remove the SH and recycling icons from the top left corner? not a huge fan of that. i personally would rather keep that as characters only and then click on the necessary building for materials.
Nope. Only when the SH characters that can do actions there are on other tasks are they removed.
You could also fill your springfield heights generating buildings up to max to remove them from your action bar.
since I’d hit my billionaire and no desire to continue the SH. What I did was max out the items needed for SH. Yes it will take a little time, but at least those icons will not be there
Yeah. That annoys me also because I have to click on those first before I get to my characters and so I don’t send them on tasks very often because of it. I wish there was a way to turn it off and on whenever you feel like working on those aspects of the game.
