Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. An all new episode of The Simpsons airs tonight, what do you think will happen in the new episode? The much anticipated Halloween (THOH) Event hit this past week, what are your thoughts on the new Event? Earning prizes at a decent pace?
MLB Postseason is in full swing. Today features 2 ALDS games…the Royals at the Astros at 4pm and the Blue Jays at the Rangers at 8pm. Will you be watching?
Sunday Night Football tonight features the 49ers at the Giants. Something you’ll be checking out? Did your team play earlier today? How’d they do?

Welp I just caved and bought the Donut Torture machine. Not just for the animation, but I must say VERY impressed with it. Read up on it before buying, found out that it gives Obedience, and I must say, with that added to my town, I was able to remove ALL my training walls from my town, and my Obedience still has a 5 star rating. (Keep in mind, before the obedience walls, taggers had me down to one star…) Unless I’m glitched, and tomorrow I’ll go back down to 2-3 stars, I’m very impressed with this. Took about 10 walls out of my town, so that saves a bit on my count.

Oh…well in that case I’m slightly less impressed lol Somehow I was able to remove my training walls and still have 5 stars at least 😀

I’M BACK !! What do u mean u never noticed I was gone? Lol I finally got my game back to level 58 after a whole wk/end of “live chat” with 5 different people! Was told half a dozen different things. O wait 24hrs wait for e-mails blah blah then last person said “o u don’t have to roll back done by advisor just do …….few points to do in settings and ☺ hockey sticks dear boy u only gone and done it lol lol IT’S FIXED SO WATCH OUT NEIGHBOURS STIGGY IS BACK IN TOWN. OMG I just got back from the local comic shop, and had a very rare find. Looked around the shop, and in a glass case the owner had KidRobot figures that people had traded in. For some reason (I’m not complaining, just don’t know why someone would do this) someone traded in a Gold Homer Buddha!! So naturally I scooped it up immediately. Came complete with both accessories (Pretzel and uh, a donut/necklace?) Now that I got it home, still excited about the find, but looking at it kinda meh. Sure its the variant, but its a plastic figure, so the gold is looking plasticy lol Might end up re-painting it with actual gold paint.
…You just have gold paint sitting around? :-/ hehe
nah, but the comic shop does, at least Testors metalic gold paint lol
I find that visiting neighbours during this event is sooooo painfully time consuming. It takes longer to go to next neighbour, plus I have to hunt around for critters to tap. And most of the time their Springfield is full of terrors already. It takes me forever and I don’t even have near 100 friends. Just can’t do it every day. Anyone else finding this to be the case?
Yeah I’ve gotta say that visiting neigbours has become a very time consuming task. Not to mention the umpteen times the game crashes when trying to move to the next neighbours. Literally takes me over 1.5 hrs of constant play to try and visit all my friends, with the slowness of finding critters, to reloading the game then going into friends towns again and again after it crashes.
Crashing has been a problem since Monorail Event and it’s disappointing no real attention has gone into fixing this bug from EA. I’m operating an iPhone 6plus with 14gb of memory still available, so my device isn’t letting me down. Ive started noting who drops nightmares into my town and I try to visit all of those neighbours first, as it’s a little painful reloading time and time again. I sound like a whinger but I do really love this game, just wish some bug fixes got sorted faster.
Hi all – My campfire has stopped collecting Nightmares at Level 5 and now it’s not upgrading. Is this the limit until Act 2 or is this a glitch? Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve tried closing the app and logging back in. Using iOS9.

I was just visiting ‘other Springfield’ and noticed a new character that I’d never seen before. It’s a thin blond woman with pink cowboy boots, a pink skirt and a light pink crop top. She doesn’t seem to be available for purchase in my store. Admittedly I’ve not been keeping up with the game as much lately (real life blows sometimes) but I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on who this is supposed to be.

small question. If one stores SH buildings, is EA still giving out level 1 buildings or has that glitch been fixed? I just noticed that I now have 12 modern mansions (2 at level 1) and 11 business centres (1 at level 1). Presumably this happened just before THOH when I stored them to move them to the house farm and out of my life.

No worries, Lee! I think you’re in the UK, right?, which would mean you’re about 5 hours ahead of me. I do try to clear my town throughout the day, but it’s possible that you’ve been trying after I’ve shut down for the night (or that I’ve actually been getting some “real” work during the day and have fallen behind on clearing my terrors).
At any rate, don’t worry about it…I’m in the same position with some other neighbors, so I certainly understand! 🙂

Hey all, I have a question about the Halloween event currency! I have gotten all the prizes, some multiples. I wonder, is it best to now save the currency (ie. the bones, bunny ears, etc) for part two, or do you think the prizes and currency will then switch, making it best to spend them all before the first part is over?

Does anyone know where the best place to post character suggestions would be? I see random posts/comments on different forums and even on EA but there doesnt seem to be any ‘official’ forum where EA could dip in and see who their tappers want the most!
Also.. I would love EA to add Tress MacNeille, Maggie Roswell and Pamela Hayden’s voices to their characters. So many popular main characters that are voiceless and it would be amazing to have them voiced. A huge chuckle in this game is the funny phrases some of the characters say when you tap them, when they start or finish quests… does anyone know why these three aren’t adding their voices to the game? Presumably something down to royalties or $$$ but it is disappointing when main characters like Milhouse and Martin aren’t voiced. How many of us want to hear Helen Lovejoy famously say ‘Won’t somebody please think of the children’!

Did anyone else have a huge surge of bunnies come out of the Simpson house when they finished the Hugo quest? Or did I just experience an awesome glitch?
I wonder about that. I haven’t finished that quest yet. Maybe next act the glitch will still happen. *hopes*
Overall I’m happy with this event, and the monorail event. Not to mention Springfield heights!!! I’m an in between player, I buy stuff, but not everything,lol. These past few months I’ve st pent some money,only because they help with the events!! It’s awesome, not like the other game the quest for stuff, where the character purchases are pretty much useless, lol!!!!!
Not sure if this has been mentioned but when visiting friends the medal table has a new tab, when visiting neighbours you then click on the neighbours button to get to it, clicking this you can see where you are in relation to your neighbours in sending and harvesting Formles Terrors, and there is also a link to click where you can purchase more Formless Terrors 25 for 10 doughnuts.
Today i have noticed that when i visit neighbors and tap on spooky nightmares, im not getting smores or additives( rib cages, bunny ears etx). Is it something im doing wrong? A glitch? Or can i not collect any more from neighbors?
Well you never got s’mores when you tapped in a neighbor’s town. Only crafting materials. As far as crafting materials, you could be maxed out. Wait 24 hrs let all your neighbors reset and see if you earn more.

Seriously loving this event! I was a bit on the fence at first because of the past events this year but I think they hit the nail on the head with this one. Really excited for the next act already. 🙂
Also, are the ruins and/or maze worth it? Do they do anything or just for decoration? I’m debating getting one of them. Anyone have any opinions on it?

Non-Halloween Question! I didn’t get the Rail Yard during the monorail event (I was on my honeymoon and decided to fully unplug!), but I can still make new recyclables/trash. Can I do anything with them once they are made? I don’t see anything in the store that uses that currency, but figured I’d see if there’s something worthwhile hidden away somewhere that I can’t find 🙂
Nope nothing to do with them unless you have the Rail Yard.

I see here that some people are feeling let down with this event but I’ve been pretty satisfied so far. Love the Cthulhu theme, hope we get him as our event token npc. Since I started late in the event last year, had few characters and was distracted by this little thing of getting married, I had a year to regret not getting Hugo last year (But I got Burns Monster? What was I thinking?) and coveting House of Evil. I can check those off the list now.
Since the rerelease of Fort Sensible (I relocated Kamp Krusty) and addition of the Gorge that area of my Springfield has languished but is now filling in nicely. In previous events the upgrade was it’s own reward, I like the brambles, tents and sheds as added incentive. Campfire and Spooky Cabin fit right in. The spooky house blends nicely with my Tetanus Terminal that for me is Cletus’es secret moonshine run operation.
I really like the Escher style enclave. I’m even getting used to Kangs pirate outfit (still don’t like model donut though) hopeful for the return of Kodos. I also think the maze and S&T’s costume is a good sign we might see the Shinning hotel (currently my Woosterfield but if not, the Country Club should substitute nicely as well).
Finally, I enjoy the aspect of switching stories to spawn whatever nightmare suits your needs and how many formless terrors you get to gift your Neighbor-eeno’s. A huge improvement over Tap Ball where you stingily could only dole out a few balls to a favorite few. Terrors for Everybody! Looking forward to the next acts. Happy Tapping Everyone!
There are definitely some good aspects in comparison. As you say about the formless terrors versus the tap ball fiasco. That I can actually craft everything I want…versus the tap ball fiasco. lol.
My campfire is next to my “bad neighborhood”, which has the Tetanus Terminal and Cletus’ farm.
I’m opposite to you, I am cool with the Model Donut, but Kang’s pirate outfit…eh.
Kang’s peg legs are pretty creepy but watching him chug straight from the bottle and rave all over town gives me a chuckle. He’ll fit right in with all my other public drunks on the holidays. 😄 And now wirh Bart’s Raven, donut torture device, pet cemetery, the mausoleum etc. hitting the store I’m a happy donut dropping fool! Keep ticking off those wish list check boxes EA- c’mon Witch Marge and Devil Flanders!

Amazon helped me fix my issue with my kindle fire. I had to uninstall tsto force stop the app reinstall tsto and now I can play tsto on my kindle again.

Nope you need an account. And honestly, you should create an account anyway. If anything happens to your device or if you have a problem with your game where you need to uninstall/reinstall you’ll lose ALL of your progress because your game isn’t saved anywhere besides your device.
And, adding to Alissa’s comments, you also get a few free donuts when you create an account. Overall, a win. 🙂
I’d seriously encourage you to get an account, I’m amazed you’ve made it this far without a major crash that takes your account to the beginning. It’s happened to me a few times, watch this blog awhile and you’ll see multiple posts every new event. Without an account saving your game to the cloud, chances are if you do crash, you’ll be out of all that work you did.

I’ve taken advantage of having neighbors by scooping up the last few [zombies|snakes|skeletons|bunnies] from them instead of having to waste another round on storytelling. Then I’m ready for the next round even earlier. No wasteful tapping. 🙂
I’m wondering if it’s just me, but I see in other towns some of the children in their trick-or-treating costumes, but I have no option for that. I’m on level 10 campfire, Homer has been probed, and I just got the donut lady.
Am I not there yet, or is my game being quirky?

I have the Nightmare Pile, but completely forgot what it was for. I’ve got it sorted out now.
The requirements for events is a bit frustrating. On my first event I couldn’t proceed with a quest to get SSB because I didn’t have Edna, which means I should have been on level 22 or more. (I had just started playing. I didn’t even know I was in an event, at the time, lol.) I moved up in levels before the next event to prevent that issue.
Now, I’m at level 52 (game level 43, I think) and while it’s not a strict requirement, I have 2 more freemium kids that I could have helping me out (but I ran out of money to build more character homes…).
It feels like the only safe place to be in this game is at the limit, level 58 (or insert current level here) and level 20 (same here) in friend points (one of the friend prizes I didn’t have helped in Tap Ball). But even if that were true, EA says that previous years’ THOH prizes will help with resources. Um…I don’t have access to those. 🙁 I’m not top level (yet). 🙁 I’d think that it would make sense to at least offer them for donuts for those that take advantage of that, to be a bit more fair. *shrug*
Maybe that’s part of the game…to assume anything at all will be necessary and therefore buy everything, especially with donuts. hah. Okay.
I agree. Playing catch-up as a freemium player is the pits. It is constant grind, grind, grind with little end in site. First they removed house farms, now visiting neighbours takes a ridiculous amount of time. In compensation, we have bonut schemes, but that does little to help those trying to max out on FP.
On the other hand, the game itself is changing. Most people are no longer able to display all their trophies, although they do not understand this yet. And so they are complaining about how slow the game is. The reality is that they need to store a bunch of what has made their SF what it is for many levels. So all of these things you are fighting to get, will mostly end up in storage. The more things you have, the more flexibility you have for temporary displays, because a few exhibition areas that players routinely tear out and remake is the future of TSTO. It is possible that there is some code error making the game slow, but it is more likely that it is just too big for most if not all devices on the market.
And you don’t think that’s a problem only for premium players, that they have to store all their prizes? Do you think that with all that the game “gives” us, plus what we get from events, that freemium players will eventually (or now) have to store a lot of items?
Update: A couple of the resource generating buildings are now available for donuts. The rest will probably be coming out a few at a time in the coming weeks.
I have a few questions please and would like some advice. It’s 2AM and I’m about to break something due to my confusion and frustration.
I am having an issue with my Origin/EA Account, I would like to change the email address associated with my B game, but I’m hung up on the security questions part. I would like to contact EA regarding it, but it looks like my only option is a LIVE CHAT. If I contact them though my PC and I don’t have a microphone for it, how am I supposed to state my inquiry? Is LIVE CHAT strictly a voice transaction? Is there an email address I can contact them with instead, or is there the option for a text box to pop up?

The only thing to add is if anyone is trying to initialize a session and it seems to be taking forever, try a different web interface. I got nowhere with CHROME! A small window popped up but the progress bars just kept churning and churning and churning!!!! It was almost an hour and nothing else!!!
Feeling desperate, I re-logged in the Origin and re-opened the inquiry using INTERNET EXPLORER (which I hardly use). To my surprise, the LC session was online and a Live EA Advisor was ready, almost immediately after the small window popped up!.

I have received 0 for the last few days – and I visit EVERY neighbor, (almost) every day. Very disappointing….
Has anyone else seen their righteousness rating tank since the event started? I have always had five stars but now am now down to 1/2 star.
Yes! I had a couple random vandals….. Other Springfield has had SSB twice in two days, so I’m working back up to a full 5 stars now
That just randomly happens sometimes (unless you have a ton of training walls). Fortunately, it will slowly go back up of its own accord (or, if you don’t feel like waiting, just get and place some more training walls).
