So…here is your Open Thread. An all new episode of The Simpsons airs tonight, what do you think will happen in the new episode? To go along with this week’s new episode we also received an episode tie-in. What are your thoughts on the tie-in? Act 1 of THOH ends Tuesday morning, how have you fared so far? There seems to be a maximum of 72 nightmares ( rabbits, skeletons, zombies, snakes and formless ) in Springfield at anyone time.
So if you are about to harvest the campfire, collect all the loose nightmares in Springfield before you do or you will lose any in excess of 72.
That XP collider will cause more work for Alissa in the way of dumb questions
because people will level up faster than normal and they’ll be wondering why stuff didn’t trigger ……
when their gameplay and quests are ten levels lower than the XP bar would suggest

I really don’t think people will use it that much. Even if you can hit the level mark twice in 24 hours you’re only up one doughnut. People will lose interest in it quickly.

Hi, HI, HI!!! Hello guys! I haven’t posted in couple weeks but I still try and hang out here! Well I’ve been reading posts not many comments. I’ve been working a lot so my game and this blog are taking a back seat. Just thought I’d say hay and don’t be mad at me for not sending out terrors! I know, I know, I have a lot but my game crashes when I accidentally tap for an 11th time when giving them out. We’ll see ya about. Be patient with me I’m normally a great neighbor!

Have not been able to get into my game for 17 hours now, am on android.
contacted EA and utterly useless advisor tells me it is a known issue. crashes after initial log in. Anyone else having this issue. very frustrating. sorry neighbours

Okay, I’m confused…. This is a quote from the EA Account Manager page online:

I’m a little disappointed that all of the special tasks use the same dozen or so characters. Between the rich people area, the recycling, campfire, and now the adults getting naked or whatever. Meanwhile, Barney and all the other 60+ characters in my town don’t get used at all. I get that it’s a scarcity of resources thing, and it’s up to us to determine which is most critical, but still. I have all this labor going to waste! It would be awesome if they included some of the other major characters, or some of the event characters that the long-term players got years ago. This thanksgiving will start year 3 for me. Not sure if that’s something to brag about or not.
That’s a good point. I don’t know if that’s the reason. It might have more to do with allowing people at a low enough level to participate.
Using the list at http://tstoaddicts.com/characters/non-premium-characters/, which is in order (except for Judge Snyder, for some reason), I see that every character up to Wolfcastle are ones used in SH, Monorail, or most events. Wolfcastle is available at level 31, so every character before that are from lower levels.
Obviously we’re 27 levels beyond that (that’s at least 27 new characters, nearly as many as came before) so it is becoming obvious that a lot of our characters are not getting used. The exceptions are some premium characters and event-specific characters.
I think it would be neat if you could use a character, if you have it, in place of another more common character. Say, a level 52 character would have to be used instead of a level 12 character that normally is required. Maybe something similar for rare premium characters versus always-available premiums.
Has anyone else had problems with upgrading your fire? As soon as it became “tap 200 nightmares” my game is not counting all the taps towards the camp fire update or the shopkeepers challenge. I’ve tried turning my tablet on and off, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game, it’s just stuck at 89. Any suggestions?

My campfire is glitched too. It says “done” in the pink bar next to the counter of items tapped for the campfire upgrade. But if I tap on the “done” it says something about spending donuts. I’m guessing it’s a glitch in the transition to act 2 and should work itself out after the current “make smores” tasks complete…we’ll see?
We got Kodos in Act 2! Woohoo!
So, if S’mores do not carry over to ACT 2 (past 4:00 am EDT in the US) AND the Day 2 Shopkeeper’s Challenge is to have Hugo make S’mores (starting at 7:00 am EDT), then you had better had started Hugo before 4:00 am EDT so that he makes S’mores that you can gather after 7:00 am EDT. At least I hope they will still count at that time. If they do not, then either EA gave us an impossible task.
The tasks still say to make s’mores but the currency says gummies now. It still counts as a s’more though. 🙂
Hi folks. This is my third THOH, and to be honest, it doesn’t quite have the sparkle the earlier ones (esp 2013) did. But things can only get better.
Anyway, what really grinds my gears (thanks Peter Griffin) is that in spite of some big land expansions (particularly the nonsense that is Springfield Heights), we are still limited to 4500 items before the game starts lagging.
When will EA increase the item limit, so we can decorate our towns properly?

Hi everyone. Glad to know that I’m not the only one that’s getting a bit bleh with the game. Still playing everyday, but with busy season started on my job I’m only getting time for a couple times a day instead of all d ay. That and I was also disappointed with the update after everyone talking about the last few halloweens. Hope everyone has a good night.

Quick question and it may have been asked. Will the resources from the first segment of the Halloween update carry over into the second segment or are these going to be use it or lose it? I have a ton and need to know if I should burn them crafting items.
Crafting items…will carry over. (ears, eggs, etc). S’mores will not.
I slacked on the snore making at the beginning and won’t get the last 2k for the gate. Too expensive to buy with donuts oh well.

I am really looking forward to watching the new Muppets show tonight. ..I hope it doesn’t disappoint! ♡
Been following The Muppets since the show started. Love it, but minor gripes. Don’t find its really long enough for the type of show it is, 22 minutes doesn’t do it justice. Also, there doesn’t seem to be episode continuity storyline wise, each episode is a fresh slate. First time viewing the episodes they are hilarious, but (and this is coming from a Henson fan overall) after the first viewing of an episode, you already know the jokes, already know what’s going to happen, so it loses something in repeats. Just wish they’d show Rowlf more (come on they went to the bar twice already, and he was in one episode only) and fix Janice’s voice already, she’s not Baby Bear from Sesame Street mixed with Scooter. lol

Not sure if I like it yet? Will give it another go next Monday night but it was kinda odd and I am a massive Muppets fan! Gonzo has always been my favourite but where was Camilla his chicken tonight? Feels as though a bit of magic was missing….
In respons to your question of where is Camilla, I believe the producers of the show specifically will not include the chickens at all. Gonzo is currently online dating, no mention of their breakup, no mention of Camilla or Bernice at all. Probably due to the “drama” aspect of the show, kinda hard to follow drama between Gonzo and a chicken who only Ba-kaw’s (with, like Beaker, the odd word actually sounding like english)
Where do you guys find friends? I’m finding it really difficult to send all my formless terrors out considering I only have one friend that plays the game with any regularity.

I read someone else who mentioned that and it made me nervous.
Any info on how well this game is doing or if it will be shut down soon? I really hope that if it is they allow us to play offline instead of really shutting the game down.

This game is still one of EA’s most profitable games..there’s no indication it’ll be shutdown anytime soon. As long as it continues to make EA money it will exist.
We always here “rumors” of the game shutting down and have for 2 years now. It’s nothing new and happens every time someone gets an aspect of an event that they don’t like (which is funny because this is only Act 1 of 3…still LOADS of stuff to hit). That’s when the “oh EA’s out of ideas, they’re shutting the game down” calls come in.
I wouldn’t worry about it ending honestly. As long as it’s making EA a profit they’ll keep it running. My guess is the shelf life on TSTO is the same as the show itself. When The Simpsons stops airing new episodes, that’s when I think the game will end.

Apologies to my neighbors…it may look like I’m hoarding the nightmares, but I keep going into neighbors’ towns only to find they are full! Wish that the limit would be raised…I like to reciprocate when someone visits 🙁
I’ve been leaving 2 or 3 spots open so that others can visit, too. It is hard to reciprocate when the terrors are already full. Especially when it takes so long to load neighbor’s towns. If you have all the prizes, save your terrors for the next act.
I don’t think there’s any reason to save terrors for the next act, since they don’t generate s’mores (right?) and the other event currency will carry over into the next act.

A 6-hour questline task was given to nearly all my characters. Now I’m wondering, should I continue that quest or let my people keep this unique time span?
(It’s from Database’s quest, visit Honest John’s. I’m using Database exclusively for s’mores but maybe not even after that’s done, I wonder…)
That’s a quest for Database, I believe…related to one of the levels. You can hold off until after this event. Better to use him for s’mores.

Anyone have an opinion on what the RAREST items are in TSTO? Stuff that was released briefly back when the game first started and never made a comeback… I read somewhere that the black hole is pretty rare, I know I have one neighbor who has it.
Black hole has made a comeback though. The 1 item that was released and never came back (at least so far) is Springfield Falls. That’s one of the rarest at this point…
Mapple used to be there, but they brought that back last event.
I remember when I started playing, that there apparently was an issue with the Mapple Store and either Apple or “another company”, that jeopardized the return of the building.
Maybe Springfield Falls could make a return soon, especially with the increased chances for BOUGHNUTS!

The one item I think is the rarest is Kang’s crashed UFO. He was originally premium in Halloween 2012, and you had to shoot down his UFO to get him. Seeing ONE crashed UFO in a neighbor’s town is pretty common, because it’s 99.999% sure it’s Kodos’, but seeing TWO of them is really rare.
Ok I think I have looked everywhere. Should I spend all my winnings (eggs, brains, bunny ears, and ribs) before act 2 starts? Or will they continue over???

Been trying for ages to figure out what the little guy who walks around the impossible tower reminds me of . Think it’s either one of the figures from a programme I used to love over here in the UK as a kid called Michael Bentine`s Potty Time , ( try Google kids ) or something that would have been in one of those cartoons by Terry Gilliam on Monty Python .Anyone else remember Potty Time or have any other suggestions …….
