12/2 In-Game Update: Springfield Heights Round 2

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well it’s not Christmas, but EA has dropped an update in our laps today nonetheless.  As Springfield Heights Round 2 hits our games…

2015-12-02 18.30.32

This is an IN-GAME update…so there’s nothing to download from the App Store.  This should automatically download for you direct to your game once you start up TSTO.  If you don’t see it (you should see the downloading update screen) try hard closing and restarting TSTO, you can also restart your device.

Cookie Kwan will start this off (should auto-start) for you.  As always, I’ll be back with more info as soon as I go through it…

So as mentioned above Cookie will kick things off with some auto-start dialogue…

Cookie: This tunnel to Springfield Heights is ruining the curb appeal.  It’s too bad there’s no possible way to move a tunnel.
2015-12-02 18.41.41

Cookie: I’ve got some prime real estate- available for one day only!
Homer: Woo Hoo!  Stuff on sale!
Cookie: It’s not on sale.  The rich don’t need discounts.
Carl: What about government subsidies?
Lenny: Yeah, and there’s the whole “too big to fail” situation, too!
Cookie: Sure, the rich want free stuff.  But when they spend it, they like to pay full price.
2015-12-02 18.41.55

Lindsey Neagle: Is that 50 cups of coffee in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
2015-12-02 18.42.04

At this point you’ll unlock a new questline for SH (which Cookie will start as well) and a whole bunch of new stuff in the shop!

First the premium SH items have made a comeback for the next 36hrs…so if you didn’t pick them up last time and wanted them, now’s your chance:

poloclub_menu Polo Field House- 200 Donuts.  Should I Buy

plasticsurgerycenter_menu  Plastic Surgery Center- 80 Donuts. Should I Buy

incubatorthinktank_menu Incubator Think Tank- 100 Donuts.  Should I Buy

A couple of changes/additions to Springfield and Heights

2 new strips in Springfield Heights…going away from the ocean

2 new strips in Springfield!  Bottom of the screen, furthest from the mountains.

You can also change the look of your SH upgrade-able buildings!  Just tap on them and you’ll be able to change to whichever facade you prefer… 🙂

  1. i love all the new SH items, they are so much more grander than the original SH items and wow, those ornate piers !!!! also, i just received my first Christmas decors , thanks to Flanders. yaaaasss! this makes me hap-pee….i can’t wait to see what they have for the upcoming event!

  2. I am excited that Lindsey Neagle as finally enter our game. I been waiting years for Lindsey Neagle

  3. Not sure if it was a glitch but did anybody notice the deluxe condo was for sale yesterday for 2 furnitures? I already had ten and got one more yesterday but today it’s not in the store anymore. I wish I got more!

    • That just happened to me too, I built an extra condo yet when I returned a few taps later to get another one the option wasn’t there anymore.

      • If you fully upgrade the deluxe condo, you should be able to get another one. That’s what has happened to me. I bought one, went back to buy another and the option was gone. So I fully upgraded the one I had and then when I went back to the menu I could buy another for 2 furniture. I’ve been able to do that about 6 times now. It’s a good way to get to 1 billion real estate points quickly as they’re fairly easy to upgrade.

  4. Somehow the new land in SH is not for sale in my game. So I can’t get the Marketing Agency and progress in the quest. Do I have to get all the land tiles from SH part 1 first?

  5. the questline 10 was a bit confusing as i havent fully unlocked the last row yet {far right}…now i see the building i need…is this quest timed or can i complete it at my leisure?

  6. The newer regular Springfield plots of land are cheaper now too.

  7. I just groaned when I saw this hit yesterday. I was able to grind to 1B pretty quick since I was on the road and had the time.

However, producing the ads doesn’t seem too bad…at least it is only using 2 of the ‘basic’ resources and doesn’t create a chain of Awards, then Tech, then coffee. That was *horrible* before.

I guess my strategy will be to focus on monorail parts til I get the donuts, then crank on the new SH stuff. I do like the bldgs/decorations this time around. Some of the best in the game, IMO. I wish they’d poop out some cash, or even better, SH currencies every now and then.

  8. Great update, but not enough room especially along the water. Also, to release it before the Christmas event is not good timing.

    • It’s all to compel you to spend donuts…

      • I somehow got a free donut yesterday, no idea where it came from yet my balance increased by 1 without bonus level up! Played this game over a year now & it still has some surprises!

        • You can get one donut per day randomly while tapping in your friends’ Springfields. Maybe that’s where it came from?

          • Actually, it’s not limited to one per day. There’s a .05% chance with each tap that you might get a donut, which means, if you have 100 neighbors and you visit them all, you should *average* 1-2 donuts per session. Which means that sometimes you’ll get none, most often you’ll get one or two, but sometimes you can get three or more (I’ve seen posts from more than one person who’s gotten as many as six in one day, but that’s certainly not common).

        • If you visited neighbours yesterday and your FPs are maxed out, then you just got one of those bonus donuts that you can get for doing that! 🙂

  9. My comments are not posting. Is this happening to anyone else?

    • You won’t see them when you post until they’re approved for moderation, unless you create a WordPress account. Really annoying but the way WordPress has switched things..

  10. The polo house disappeared and I just upgraded last night. Did this happen to anyone else? It said I had 1 day and a few hours to buy for 200 donuts. Now it is gone.

  11. alex - aabcampos2

now you can store “old” SH buildings (parking lot, mansions, condos, etc) and still keep the XP bonus 🙂

    • Is this true. Can anyone else verify this?

    • It was like that before as well

      • No it wasn’t. The buildings need to be out. The bonus is for XP only- not $. I think this is where people are getting confused. People are storing their SH buildings and seeing no change in the $ bonus. But the hidden bonus has no effect on $- only on XP, and there is definitely a bonus on XP. But the only way to get the hidden bonus XP is to have your buildings placed somewhere in your town, and not in storage.

    • I’m so confused, now… I only just learned about this XP bonus from other commenters, earlier today. So do I need to unpack all of my stored SH buildings, or not? Is there a post on this topic that I missed, Alissa? :/

    • Are you sure? I’ve never heard of anything that’s stored contributing to any kind of bonus or Conform-o-Meter rating… (It would be fabulous if it’s true, though!)

    • No Alex. You’re information is incorrect. I just did an experiment to verify your claim. The SH buildings must be out to receive the hidden XP bonus. I want everyone to know that the buildings can’t be in storage if you want the bonus. The buildings must (unfortunately) be out to get the bonus.

      • Side Note: That applies to ALL items that have Bonus Multipliers. You MUST have them on the “play field” in order to get that % added to your Conform. Inventory basically mean it “does not exist” in the game and the game will not read it. 😉

      • Yup – I was just coming here to post the same thing…I just did a whole experiment with that. At first it seemed like it worked, but that was only because I hadn’t stored enough of them to reflect a difference in the relatively inexpensive building I was using for the XP experiment. (I needed to pick something I had multiples of and that was currently collectable).

At any rate, once I had stored more than three Springfield Heights buildings, there was a definite drop in XP collected.

So, no, you can’t store them without losing the XP multiplier.

    • too bad wordpress doesn’t have commentary feedback like amazon has for reviews…

“Was this comment helpful to you?” NO

      • Great suggestion! Hey Tapebelt – I see the “tape” in your avatar (though some here may be too young to get it)… but where is the “belt?” That’s like having cookies without milk, or peanut butter without jelly, or… can you tell I’m hungry? 😁

  12. Does the deluxe condo have an invisible bonus multiplier for XP, too?

  13. I bought the land expansion for 15 trophies and nothing happened. Am I missing something?

  14. I got the update this morning and purchased the new Ocean Suites. I logged in about an hour later and not only are they gone, but the new SH items are not even showing up. The land I cleared to place them is there and empty now. Any idea what happened?

    • Sounds like it rolled back. I’d contact EA have them look into your game

      • I had the same issue happen this morning, tried the usual of log off/login as well as going to other towns for it to sync, but alas, the purchased land is there bit the ocean suites and marketing agency building are gone as well as the start of the build of the first of 10 towers. Any help is appreciated! And as always…great site 😃

  15. I honestly wouldn’t have a problem with SH if the jobs weren’t all on a completely different timer, you could put more than 5 characters on a job, or there was the ability to send characters back on a job automatically.

I haven’t played TSTO as long as some people, but SH honestly almost killed the game for me. I don’t mind logging in a couple times a day, but cycling characters every 2 minutes for hours on end? Nah.

    • I feel the same way, I don’t mind it, if the task lengths were the regular 1, 4, 8, 12, 24h lengths
Like EA isn’t even making any profit from these short SH tasks, they don’t earn donuts so I don’t see why they changed the game mechanics.
I actually liked the Krustyland expansion, the following a questline, earning tickets, fun!

  16. Just got the luxery yacht and my first resort. It is massive! I hadn’t realized about the facades yet, really glad about it! Now I don’t have to puzzle and wonder how to get to the final prize without upgrading all my buildings… 🙂

  17. I can’t rest unless my various things are full, I guess I’ll be working on the heights for awhile.

  18. Can you only unlock the Marketing Agency if you have completed part 1..?

  19. Despite many peoples gripes about SH, there’s actually quite a lot of good items there.

    • wholeheartedly agree

    • The problem is, those items are purely decorative. The don’t generate income. Some of them give you bonus XP, but once you’re maxed out on levels, it contributes very little. Sure, leaving all the buildings out means I get bonus donuts maybe a couple of days earlier, but they take up a LOT of space for that bonus.

      • I’d much rather have the bonus XP multiplier than have those buildings generate cash and XP…helps me get bonus donuts much faster this way!

The only problem is that there’s really not enough land in Springfield Heights (even with the expansion), to accommodate everything, if you want it to be nicely designed and not just crammed in. And, because of the XP multiplier, I find it “painful” (in game terms) to store any of the Springfield Heights buildings.

        • I do agree though, the idea for SH wasn’t terrible, the multiple buildings are a bit tacky, but 2 characters from an expansion is sweet and there are some cool buildings and decorations!
I do wish there was something for neighbours to tap on in Heights though.
True, but in the end storing them for the land and aesthetics might be necessary! Wish they could be hidden behind stuff though!

    • Ditto.

Love the fact that we have an entrance to SH’s version of the Squidport. Of course, I’m now going to assume that EA will release Squidport-like items for the SH boardwalk…perhaps a diamond-encrusted ferris wheel, solid gold bumper cars, or something like that.

  20. A lot of people don’t seem to like SH, but personally I’m happy to have the extra space (I store most of the items once they’re upgraded) and decorations. I love the new SH part 2 items, new character and extra space! I will definitely be doing some more work on my SH… If only I had saved some donuts after Black Friday :'( !!

  21. I love THE fishtank!!!! Nice Nice Nice!!! And also the sidewalk is funky. 🙂 love it.

I think hs needs to be played for fun. if you only strive to do everything is terribly boring. but if you are just there playing for fun.. It is Nice to Discover new stuff. And just left out what you dislike.

Easy playing not just tapping to the end. 🙂

  22. Thank you for taking the time to post all this Alissa. I must admit to not having been really grabbed by the whole SH thing. I feel it is an absolute chore to grind out all those bits and pieces you need and really only bother with it when I’ve nothing else to do. Is it just me ?? I don’t mind the recycling tasks as they are that bit longer and you can at least get a few donuts for your trouble – and a straight piece of track if you’re very lucky!

  23. I had no idea they had plans to continue expanding SH…but

I AM SO HAPPY that we got Lindsay Naegel!

  24. Aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh, More land! My OCD makes me need any new land as soon as it appears, just finished purchasing the last lot of land 🙂 i can generate about 600 to 700 thousand a day and every time I think I am getting in front BAM!! More massive expenditure 🙂 love it really !

  25. Can’t see comments? Refreshing does nothing.

  26. Lindsey Naegle! Merry Christmas to me!!!!

  27. I was able to buy my 11th Deluxe Condo. Someone has the same experience after this update?

    • It’s been happening since the beginning of SH. If you store your buildings they 1) sometimes vanish 2) sometimes change level 3) sometimes the vanished buildings come back after you’ve built an extra one. I have 11 or 12 of a lot of buildings. I had all level 5 modern mansions and classic mansions stored in my inventory – now I have only level 3 and 4 in my inventory (even though I have all the level 5 pieces unlocked). What it means is that I have to upgrade them again (boo!) but I also get the real estate points again (yay!)

    • no I don’t

    • I did. But now I sorta regret it. I need one more to have an even number of them. Getting another isn’t as easy. I think another building has to be maxed out then it’s offered again…

    • In the store, I had two entries for the deluxe condo: one with the counter on it for 10 furniture, and one that just appears as a normal item, without the heights limit attached, for 2 furniture. Purchasing the 2 furniture one removed that entry from the store and increased my condo count.

    • Yep I’ve bought an 11th and 12th all the way up to my 16th, I think, I lost count now. They’re all upgraded and I’ve never stored any of them so I think the ability to buy extra ones is a different glitch to the one Schlubadub mentioned. If you fully upgrade the deluxe condo, you should be able to get another one.

  28. Why SH, thought I’d done it.

  29. As an Australian I can’t wait to get the opera house, and put my Aussie flag next to it 🙂
