It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. There’s a new episode of the Simpsons tonight, what do you think will happen in the new episode? The Thanksgiving Event wrapped up for us this past week, and we received Springfield Heights round two. What are your thoughts on the new content? We also got a little Christmas tease with the new update…and Christmas should hit our games this week. What do you think Christmas 2015 will include?
How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? Get any Christmas/holiday shopping done? (only 19 days until Christmas..)

Has anyone recently noticed that you can’t farm donuts from the Bloodmobiles anymore? I can now buy the Bloodmobiles for 5400, only giving a few thousand XP (even though my bonus is up around 300%).
Is there another item we could use for this because I’m trying to get some more donuts for the Christmas event?

I’m able to build (seemingly) endless numbers of SH Deluxe Condos. I have 12 now, and it’s still available to buy in the store. It would appear that in order to get another one, I have to fully upgrade all existing condos. I don’t think I want to build anymore. There’s no place to put them.
They are huge and take up a lot of space. When I do my town redesign in the new year, I’ll probably place at most five of the thirty one deluxe condos I have. But there is no harm in continuing to build them and store them in your inventory.
As for now, I am continuing to grind them out and store them in order to raise my real estate value whenever I have some free time or am watching some TV. I anticipate them adding more prizes to Red Blazer Realty in the future, and any leg up I can get now will make it easier in the future (especially if they do eventually restore the cap on deluxe condos). Upgrading deluxe condos is relatively quite easy and has decent REV return (especially if you don’t buy any premium SH decorations like me). Since SH2 started, I’ve already raised my REV by over 260 million, mostly due to the additional 21 deluxe condos sitting in my inventory.
I have a strange dilemma: When was/is my 1yr anniversary for starting TSTO. I first downloaded the game during stone cutters last year, but because I never had wifi at home, I didn’t really start playing properly until midway through Terwilligers this year.
Was it earlier this year or will it be early next year?
I’d go with Stonecutters. You have some memory from then (I don’t, I’m firmly from Terwilligers), maybe even an item or two.

So the pond from the Halloween timeframe that gave out donuts – wasn’t there a message saying “stay tuned for what happens next!” – but the pond just sits there. No Homerzilla, no donuts, no tasks, etc. nothing happened next. 🙁
Also, didn’t they say after the Flanders task to tune in Sunday to see Homer’s reaction to Flanders’ house decoration? But nothing happened in game, or on Sunday’s TV episode. Or did the message say something else? My first year with TSTO and don’t have a holiday lights option for the Simpsons house.
Even the new SH task to get to the private island seemed a bit cut off. I’d prefer a bit more fanfare after completing all tasks in a series. :-/
Me, too. I was thinking a few donuts would be a nice and obvious end to the questline. Some quests do end in donuts (as apology), but I say that they all could. Then, even if the writing is confusing as to the quest coming to an end, we’d know.
Oh my! I thought I was nuts! So it did say that! What the world happened?? I thought we were gonna get Homerzilla or more soggy donuts! I believe EA goofed on that one for if it was only an epi tie in, they sure didn’t make that clear!

Is there a way to connect regular Springfield and Heights with monorail tracks? I wanted to build a cool loop around my whole town, but ran into this roadblock…
No.
I believe the general dislike I sense re Springfield Heights would be alleviated by a little common sense applied to the amounts/durations of the crafting currencies. A couple of them seem to be little more than roadblocks for roadblocks’sake. I know I’m experiencing a lot more frustrated grunts than contented sighs of accomplishment. If you keep only pretending to throw the ball, pretty soon Rover gets fed up and finds something else to do.
Yeah, longer collect times with bigger payoffs would be nice. I’ve only ever made any headway with SH because I’m usually in a situation where I can have it running while I’m working, and therefore collect throughout the day.
As far as I’ve heard, the new SH upgradable buildings don’t even give the XP bonus that the original ones did, which makes them a complete waste of time and space.
Has the picture quality of TSTO gone way down on bluestacks 2?
Bluestacks is notoriously unreliable, since it’s not really an official Android platform.
My TSTO Christmas wish list to EA is as follows-
1. Maggie!!
2. Make season’s optional to each town! (seasonal facades) – if I want snow in July- Bammm! There it is!
3. Let the poor Tom Turkey out of the blasted bird cage!😍(Freedom!!!)

I just bought an ipod strictly for TSTO (And for my almost 4 year old to play some of his own games) and have ended up horribly disappointed with the huge lag that makes it so unpleasant to play. It’s a 32gb ipod 5, updated to the most recent iOS. Please someone help!!!
That’s odd… I have a 16GB iPhone 4s (old device, I know) and the game runs very smoothly. Have you tried unistalling/reinstalling? Could be just a corrupted file.
I wish there was a default job button on each character. then I could go to unemployment and run all on preferred jobs , Thats the only thing I dont like about the unemplyment office, I have certain task i like most of them to be doing. and they all vary by time. absolutly loving the tap radias. I just wish the money dissapeared instantly instead of taking so long to clear. love this site.
I agree, and I agree! Most of all, I love this site! Next, I love to make my favorite folks do jobs that make me smile, even if those jobs are less ‘profitable’. What the heck is this game about anyway, if it’s not for fun. Profit within TSTO isn’t (sorry everyone) REAL! But I would enjoy efficiency, even in my unreal world, so I love your idea of ‘settings’ for favorite activities for each character.
Oh, and I must say that my money seem to disappear instantly, so I did not understand that comment!
i have a huge blue house farm, and with the big tap radius, i can clear them all in a few seconds, but it leaves tons of money on screen, and takes awhile to clear it all.
1:40 in the morning and I just can’t seem to sleep! I thought I’d chime in and see what’s going on in this oh so cool blog group.?!. I hope we will see snow in our towns tomorrow!(or today) I have a feeling it will start off with a home decorating task for Homer. (a keeping up with the Jones’ type task)Lol!
Did anyone get a message about a new building and tasks for a caracter? I was reading another caracters lines when it came up so it jumbled all together and couldnt read it.
I wish we could zoom out farther so we can see more of the town at once. I know this would probably take a lot of phone processing but would still be awsome! Maggie would be awsome . I think it would be nice to give friends gifts. it would also be fun to have mini games to earn a little money and kill time between waiting on your caracters tasks to end.
I’d love to be able to zoom out further too, would be cool to see how our town looks from a little distance 🙂
Anyone having issues with the game loading their file? Every time I try and load the game, the main screen shows my level 58 and that I am logged in, but when I tap it to load, it kicks me to the very beginning of the game as if I just started playing…any ideas? Playing on a Kindle Fire 3rd generation.
Anyone else notice Kodos’s (and likely Kang) task for “Escaping Reality.” It’s performed “in” the Gate to Nowhere and puts it into motion. Very cool.
And I like the Springfield Heights expansion even if it is a grind. I stock up on the items that don’t require other items then once those are maxed out I work on stocking the others. So pills aren’t so bad when I have yoga mats and coffee maxed out.
I do wish SH had more oceanfront property. The ocean condo is now my absolute fave building/decoration; glad it doesn’t “need” upgrading.
And with all these islands I sort of feel like the ocean needs to go out further from the land. Oh well. Would make the game too unwieldy.
I solved that by putting my private island and ocean suite as part of Radioactive Man’s private dock for his beach house on the regular Springfield side.
Oh, so this morning I didn’t get a chance to finish sharing my thoughts for the day…didn’t get to tell y’all about the good donut day I had yesterday…got 30 from the Mystery Box and another 5 from Krustyland! (I kept track this time…the last date I had gotten donuts from Sideshow You was October 11. So, I think I mist have just hit my 300th balloon, as usual. (I don’t think I’ve ever seen any “random” bonuts come out out that thing, although I hear that there’s supposed to be a chance of that.) I didn’t get any donuts from neighbor visits yesterday (which felt less bad, given how many I’d just won), but tonight I got two, so I’m really happy about that.
It would be great to get more donut windfalls before the event started – after the Black Friday sale, my donut stash is rather low…
I’m watching this morning’s episode of CBS Sunday Morning, and, during a segment about the old Isabella Stewart Gardner museum heist, and they included a clip from The Simpsons to show how it even had infiltrated pop culture! 🙂

I like the new Flanders house decorations. Must be a ‘tease’ for the coming event! I can’t wait until my SP has snow – last year was my first Xmas holiday & I must have spent a couple hours just looking through my town at all the new art. Rachel

On Wednesday I leave for six days in Florida. A friend is getting married on Saturday. I’m not sure how much tapping I’ll be doing during that time and with the Christmas event most likely just getting under way I might be off to a slow start. I’m not stressing it though, I’ll just have to try and have fun in the sun. ☀️🌞😀

We lived in the Ft. Lauderdale area for years and the only place I miss is the Southernmost Hotel in Key West. Mmmmm. We go back every few years. Last time we visited we used points with Marriott there and honestly, although it was rated five stars it was one of the worst places we have EVER stayed. Filthy. Expensive. Poor service. Years ago on a motorcycle trip we stayed at “Castle by the Sea” where the SMOKING sign was lit because everywhere else was booked. Even the shower reeked of days old cigarettes. I would rate that higher than the Marriott. I bought the Sleep-Ezy in homage when my husband told me “I’m treating you like a queen and putting you up in a castle and all you can do is B*** about it” statement. LOL
I’m on Springfield Heights 10 and I can’t buy any of the new land to get the Marketing Agency.
Can you please specify? Have you already purchased all the land from the first phase? When you click on the four directional icon in the bottom right and scroll around, is there any land or water pieces to purchase anywhere?

Not to contradict Alissa, but… if you have a *friend* with an iOS device, and if you were to attach the iTunes gift card to your friend’s iTunes account, and log into Tapped Out under your EA account on their iOS device, then *technically* you could make the donut purchase from their device using the just transferred funds — with your friend’s permission, of course. It would be a rather convoluted process, and quite probably not worth the hassle… but not impossible, strictly speaking. 😉
If you know someone with an idevice, you can log into your Springfield on that device to use the iTunes card and then just log out, return to your normal device and what you bought will be there.

Les likely, but more desired would be “Holidays Of Future Passed”, and having skins of all our favourite Simpsons characters from the future.
John and the village would be cool. Already got Annual Gift Man last year.
I agree with the Future Past one- would love to finally see some love to those episodes.
As I said earlier, a holiday themed mystery box on our fifth days. Some of the prizes would be NPCs and donuts, and other things I mentioned… Will type more if you’re curious.

By NPC I mean those “enemies” they offer for donuts after the event is over. We could win one for free, and to make EA money, not all would be available from the box, thus temping us to pick up the rest once we have one in our inventory.
I was thinking other goodies, like skins or façades or even characters. Buildings and items, too. The stuff we normally have to “grind” for each act might get rewarded in this easy gifting kind of way.
Lastly, simple old donuts. We miss out on a possible 30 donuts each time an event is in effect. Then EA might offer another chance to make donuts during those many weeks (maybe 4 mystery box “weeks”), but why not have both. Season of gift-having. 🙂

Burning Christmas tree from Miracle on Evergreen Terrace. Elf outfits for Selma, Patty and Marge from White Christmas Blue. Homer goes to Santa School. Rabbi Krustofsky and some Hanukkah goodies. Giant menorah for town square. Chinese restaurant for the Jewish characters to have dinner on Christmas. I really could go on and on.
Would be cool if we could use Madame Chao’s! And yes definitely some more Jewish characters, decorations and buildings!
