The Christmas Event hit our devices yesterday afternoon and a fun event rolled out with it. Like all events, a questline was rolled out with it to help guide you through the event. If you ever get stuck with something in the event, just check out the questline and see what needs to be triggered next…usually you can get “unstuck” by following along with the questline.

question .. i wanna leave my snowman unfinished and not complete the upgrade on level 5 because i like the look of the snowman with the scaffolding and carrot dangling .. but i guess i have to do the full upgrade in order to get to build the gingerbread house?
much like my mr burns money mountain .. i’m one level short of upgrading because i like the “being built” look with the crane
Maybe they’ll give you the choice of which “look” to pick once you’re fully upgraded (like they did with the Radioactive Man statue and the Springfield Heights buildings recently)? Can anyone confirm one way or the other?
If they give a choice, it may not be till the event is over next year 🙂

I was just curious whether anyone had actually gotten there yet and knew what was what (at least for now).
The quest line in Act 1 has been very nice. With most events since Monorail, the events have slowed down my monorail quest for 5 donuts from Thursday to Friday evening or Saturday usually. But even with the Christmas event, I passed 50,000 yesterday afternoon and will hopefully reach 70,000 and my 5 bonuts by this evening at the latest.
Also with the quest line, I’ve made some pretty good progress in terms of hats, at the expense of slowing down my progress on the snowman and gingerbread house. For those who are hardcore daily playing addicts, I would advise this strategy to maximize donut output. I’m assuming once the main snowman and gingerbread quest are done, hats will only be obtainable by tapping merrymen in your Springfield and by your neighbour visits. When it tasks me with sending 4 dimwits or 6 pessimists, etc, I always send one fewer the initial time (so with the above mentioned cases, I’d send 3 dimwits or 5 pessimists initially). I then send all the dimwits/pessimists/etc a second time so as to earn more hats. Using this strategy, I should unlock all the reward prizes up to Patches and Poor Violet at an earlier point in the questline, allowing me to obtain more hats before the main quest line ends. Though as mentioned, this will essentially take me nearly twice as long to complete the Snowman and Gingerbread quest lines. As someone who plays nearly non-stop 24/7, I can afford such a delay. But for the less hardcore addicts, I would NOT recommend this strategy.
The same idea occurred to me, but this strategy didn’t work for me. I’m only getting hats for the number of people required to complete the quest. I think if you actually count the number of hats you are getting you will see that the same is true for you and that you have been wasting the time for all the tasks you send people on in excess of the required number. In my game when the last one finishes all the others are kicked out without payment, even if they’re finished as well. So unless I have an unlucky glitch I wouldn’t recommend your strategy.
I have a question regarding the presents. I get notifications about receiving presents but I couldn’t find them in my town. It is weird since I could receive presents yesterday and the play nice or naughty box would just pop up. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yeah, the direct link doesn’t work for me. Unfortunately patience is the only treatment. Sometimes it takes a few hours, but it always comes back eventually. (Though it often disappears just as fast again).
the alternative to patience is to use the wordpress reader. when you are logged in and on a wordpress site, you will see a admin bar/tool bar at the top that you can use to manage and read wordpress sites. if you click on the reader button, it will take you to wordpress.com (or you can just go there if you are logged in) where you will see posts from the sites that you follow. you can easily comment/reply there until the issues with the comments on here have been fixed.

And NEVER happened to me in all these years of playing, IMPOSSIBLE to be in the game!
Every time I’m trying to play, one tap and great noise appears while ALL TOTALLY FROZEN! Sometimes I can’t even swith off the cell, must take out the battery.
All since Christmas event started.
I’m level 59, playing successfully for long. So I know the drill: hard close, uninstall, switch off and on cell, install again. Did it so many times since this event started, can’t even remember.
Nothing helping and I really cry because I love my game and on top of it I’ll be alone this Christmas. Totally.
PLEASE give me the right link to contact EA. Can’t call them unfortunately, living very far away from USA. Probably by email…

Looks like there’s some new items in the store. Just pulled the trigger on the animal shelter! Pretty big building, there’s some dialogue and a questline. Not sure how long it is yet. When the building is animated 2 little yellow birds fly around it and the American flag waves. For only 60 donuts I don’t think it’s a bad buy if you’re an animal lover like myself 😊🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🦁🐯🐨🐼🐻🐮🐷🐸🐵🐔🐧🐦🐙🐤🐺🐗🐴🦄🐍🐢🐠🐳🐬🐿🐇🐈🐩🐕🦃🕊🐘
is it really worth it to upgrade the squishee station? does it really only expand the tapping radius of the merry makers?

But it doesn’t look like the Squishee tickets are used for anything else soooo…
As long as the kids don’t have a hat making job available at the great snowman I put them on Squishee duty because why not😊
Even if the tap radius isn’t important to you, sending the kids to do that task gives you event currency…
But also gives you Santa hats for finishing each stage. If you want to be sure to finish the questline or get some bonuts, I wouldn’t pass any up. Free (as opposed to buying the ticket thingy).

There is a limit of only five gift drops per 24 hours. Currently no way to exceed this limit of five. So choose wisely which neighbour (or up to five neighbours) you bestow your presents upon.
There is also a limit on how many presents one can receive per 24 hours, so this may impact who you bestow your presents upon.

My first challenge task was to make Apu do something for 12 hours, and suddenly it said I had completed three challenges. And I think I only got the prize for the first one. Anyone else have this happen?
Happened to me as well that I accidentally fulfilled a quest. But I also got the prices that came along with them.
Are you sure you didn’t get prizes for all three. Most of the prizes just add bows and baubbles to your total, so you won’t actually see a physical prize. Only the second prize is a physical item, the nutcracker statue.
It is very easy to complete some of the tasks without even realizing it, as they may ask you to tap 40 merrymen, etc.

I think we should get as many presents per day as we have friends, ….it IS the season for giving and sharing, …… 5 isn’t much between you lot …..some people might have to wait till after Xmas to get one 🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁

It’s completely ridiculous. It should be 5 or 10 PER friend, PER day. Or hey, how about as many as you can drop if they have room in their town (max 10 at a time). That would encourage people to tappa tappa tappa…
