I enabled the mobile theme for the site again, hopefully this helps some of you who are having issues viewing the site on your mobile device. If you’d like to go back to the desktop version scroll to the bottom of the site and select view full site. Hope that helps!
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just a quick note to let you know I switched the theme back to the old, original Addicts theme. I did this in hopes that it would help with the comment issue, I don’t think it will…but if it does I’ll be thrilled. Plus, I know a lot of you (Sandra…) were really wanting us to go back to how it originally was. So…it’s back to how it originally was.
Fingers crossed that this works for the comments!
I see that it says there are 27 comments but I cant see any of them.
I just have a quick little question that I hope someone can help me out with.
Do the clay tennis courts give a bonus percent?

They don’t. My guess is EA created these for anyone who still wanted the aesthetic of the court without giving the bonus.

I just got used to the new theme. 😛 I’ve hardly had the time to tap let alone check here the last three days. I’m totally lost! No, just kidding. I’m just barely ahead of the calendar so I think I’m doing alright, with a tap tap here and a tap tap there. 😀
Yay, for me it works with the comments and I prefer that design!
For those annoyed by the ads, in the address line on iOS devices you can chose the reader mode so all ads will be hidden. I’m sure that works on other devices too.
And then we don’t get credit for you viewing the ads. No credit means no money. No money means no funds to run the site. No funds to run the site means Addicts may not exist. So really as annoying as they are remember they fund a site that you get to view for free…so are they really that annoying?

For me, the ads aren’t that annoying, and IMO you give enough of your time to keep this site running, so there are for sure better things to do than trying to make people happy who are complaining about ads or the noise of it.
There is one single ad on top and another one between the text and the comments, and when I’m in the U.S. It used to be the same, so I don’t get where the “too much” starts…
There’s a mute button on my phone so I’m pretty sure there’s one on other phones too 😜

Seems to all be working again, and I have to admit that I much prefer this version! The other one was simplistic to a fault, and I enjoy not having to comment needlessly to view others (and I’m sure you enjoy not having to moderate them!)
The disappearing comments were a bit disconcerting. Sideshow Bob, Hank Scorpio, and Frank Grimes, JR were undoubtedly behind it. Hey, a Simpsons villain teamup could happen.

I understand that you have to monetarize the page to cover your cost. But can you get rid of the video ads that pop up in between the text? Super annoying for us mobile users with limited data and also embarrassing to have a phone that suddenly starts playing loud music on the commute to work.
I can’t…they’re set by wordpress, I have no control over them.
Well, you should complain to them, because WordPress isn’t doing you any favors, by introducing obnoxiously loud videos. I’ve also noticed (in a desktop browser) that these particular videos can’t be muted by way of the sound icon on the browser tab — because they auto-mute, until you mouse over them. That means any unintentional stray mouse overs will cause the website to abruptly yell at me. (It almost makes me want to take your website back out of the ad-block whitelist, frankly.)
Just to revisit this briefly… some of the ads that WordPress is inserting are taking a turn towards the weird, in my opinion. I just saw an animated ad on one of your pages which appeared to be subtitled almost entirely in Arabic, or something similar. Do you really have that many Arabic site visitors, or is this just some peculiarity of WordPress?
The ads are supposed to be based on your browsing history…except for the video ads. So that is weird. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on with WordPress. They used to be so great..now we’re having so many issues.

That’s unfortunate Ellie. Fortunately for me, the old theme has allowed me to view all comments on every post on every device, which I haven’t been able to do on any one device for the past fortnight.
Another bonus, I was also a bigger fan of this older theme.
I got that one post comments to come up. 🙂

i’m on this site using my laptop most of the time, so i can’t speak on the mobile version, but i’m enjoying the old format again. we get back the (arguably) easier to read/recognize indented reply formatting, while still keeping the extra levels of nested replies. being able to actually see the comments is just gravy… 😉
