Casino Event 101: Gaming Moe’s

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Viva Las Springfield!  Vegas has arrived in Springfield and nothing says Vegas like rigged games of chance! Gaming Moe’s is a place where you can experience first hand one of those rigged games of chance…as you try your luck in the TSTO slots!

So what can you win at Gaming Moe’s?  How do you win?  How do you cheat?  Let’s take a look at all those questions and more as we break down the details of Gaming Moe’s….

You guys know the drill by now…we’ll start with the basics

How Do I Unlock Gaming Moe’s?

Gaming Moe’s will unlock, for FREE, once you reach The Old Man and the ‘Sino Pt. 4. If you’re stuck check out our Turbo Tappin’ Post here.

How Do I Use Gaming Moe’s?

To “gamble” at Gaming Moe’s you’ll need Tokens.  They look like this…

Once you have at least 1 Token you can use it at Moe’s.

How Do I Earn Tokens?

Tokens will randomly pop out of Gamblers as you tap them..

You can also earn Tokens when you complete tasks at Burns’ Casino…1 token/4hrs per character that has a task there.

Additionally you can earn Tokens by upping your VIP Card Level (more on that in another post).   And you can earn them via the Daily Challenges.

And of course you can buy them for donuts in the store…I DO NOT recommend buying them.  You can earn Tokens pretty easily, DO NOT waste your donuts on them in the store.

So What Happens Once I Have A Token?

Well…you tap on Gaming Moe’s and it’ll bring up the Slot Machine game…

2016-02-25 20.37.21

Take your finger and swipe down on the red lever.  That will spin the reels and show you what you’ve won!

So How Do You Win?

Well much like a regular Slot Machine, simply Match Icons on the reels to win…

2016-02-23 22.03.11

Two or 3 of the same icons wins a prize!  Pretty simple right?

What Can I Win?

2016-02-25 20.59.33

For Act 1…you can win Red Chips & Crafting Currency.  Every pull is a winner, so even when you lose you’ll still win something.

Here are the chip payouts:

2016-02-23 22.03.11

2 Barneys (anywhere on the reel) earns 60 Chips, 3 Barneys will earn you 400 Chips.  And it follows that pattern down.

You can also randomly earn crafting currency when you win (or lose).  Occasionally you’ll see crafting currency popup as a prize in addition to the Chips…

2016-02-25 21.00.13 2016-02-25 21.00.26

The bonus crafting payout is random and doesn’t always happen.  There’s no special trick to getting crafting currency to popup.

What Happens When I Lose?

2016-02-25 20.59.53

If you lose at Moe’s you’re still a winner!  Sorta… If you lose at Moe’s you’ll win a courtesy chip.

ico_casino_courtesychip_lg

During Act 1 you can trade courtesy chips in for chips via the crafting menu.  10 courtesy chips = 100 ico_casino_redchip_lg.

When you lose you’ll also occasionally get a crafting payout, just like when you win.

The Game Said Something About Cheating, How Do I Cheat?

2016-02-23 22.03.41

First, let me say this…cheating is random.  There is nothing you can do to get it to popup.  It’s completely random.  So don’t think you can do something to cheat…you can’t.  It’ll just popup from time to time.

Now..there are currently two ways to cheat at the slots.  The first is pictured in the image above.  You’ll get a popup that says the reels are stuck…simply tap the reels to change them.

2016-02-23 22.03.45

When this happens, at least for me, it’ll change the Reels to Barney…the highest payout:

2016-02-23 22.03.49

The second cheat pops up every once in a while and tells you that Moe’s not looking..

2016-02-25 11.34.20

This one only happens when you have two Barney’s on each end….and when you tap the center reel it replaces the image with a “sketch” of Barney…

2016-02-25 11.34.23

Again…there’s nothing you can do to make the cheat trigger.  It’s completely random and will popup in your game when you can.

And finally…

Should I Hoard The Tokens or Use them When I Have Them?

ico_casino_gametoken_pack02_lg

That’s really up to you.  There’s really no reason to hoard the Tokens.  I’ve personally been using them as I get them (when I have about 10 of them I cash them in at Moe’s).  Using them will help you earn the chips you’ll need to unlock the Act 1 prizes…so use them up! 🙂

And there you have it…the details on Gaming Moe’s!

What are your thoughts on Gaming Moe’s?  Having success in the slots?  Enjoying the “winning”?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Happiness is just a Gaming Moe away!

  2. I tried to look at this page at college but it was blocked as it has ‘gambling content’!

  3. Thanks all for your input. First time posting here, but I visit this site all the time. Great input!

  4. I don’t have anything to add or ask for this post so I guess like with game moes I will just slink away.

  5. I’m considering a “tactic” relative to my progress with crafting and my chips before the end of act one. I noticed the game seems to limit you to how many things you can craft, at least for the time being. I’ve got two each of the fountains and cycling spotlights, and four walk of fame stars, and it does not give me the option to craft more even if I have the resources to do it.

So, what I’m considering doing is playing slots until I unlock Lucius Sweet, then wait and hold whatever tokens I accumulate until act two starts. The only thing I’m thinking of that might change this is spending resources on upgrading my crafting tier toward level two, since that seems to be the only way you can unlock the other crafting things.

That may be the main reason to keep playing and getting materials even after unlocking the act’s prizes.

  6. I am having problems crafting items. The game won’t let me craft items anymore. I cannot add points to my players card. How do you update your players card if you are not able to craft anything that awards points? Am I the only one with this issue?

    • You can still get coasters and keychains and unlock “tiers” to the second level. Which takes a LONG time (IMO). I would have hoped for a faster way to do this, as getting to Tier 2 with keychains or coasters. I don’t like the cycling spotlight (which looks more like the multicolored spotlit, I thought it would be spinning). But needing 40 coasters for each means I need another 325 coasters. That’s a LOT of coasters.

  7. Great to have another bet in town – the dogtrack was always my favorite in-game game!

  8. Not quite on topic, but do you have any crafting advice? I haven’t spent anything yet, because I’m not sure if I should upgrade or spend on the little stuff yet.

  9. I disagree on this part “This one only happens when you have two Barney’s on each end….and when you tap the center reel it replaces the image with a “sketch” of Barney…”
I one time had it where Barney was in spots 2 and 3 and I put the sketch on 1. If I get that again I’ll take a screenshot.

  10. I going to hoard. I seem to be on track with the prize calendar but just barely and I’m checking in constantly. If I get behind and it seems difficult to get the final prize, I’ll cash in my tokens at Moe’s. If I get the Final prize I’ll save my tokens for the next act and follow the same plan. I’ve found it very difficult to get the final prize of each act in the past few events.

  11. I plan on holding onto about 10 tokens to help with any possible daily challenge, but since this is one of the main ways to earn event currency, I think it’s best to use them. At least until I’ve won all the prizes. Then, it’ll depend on how close to bonuts I am.

  12. I wonder if cheating is tied to progress. I have seen essentially no cheats come. Up since I got ahead of the curve on chips but a ton of them initially. Could be cheating in your favor when you need it?

  13. Hard as hell to earn the event currency…

    • Chips or crafting? Chips are pretty easy…crafting is a whole other story

      • Personally I don’t find it hard, have all the craftable items maxed, what bugs me is having to “unlock” the next level of crafting. Sure it gives us something to do when you got everything so far that’s craftable, but I kinda prefer “next stuff will unlock on…” and have to wait it out lol.

        • the level thing is what i’m trying to get through…i just prefer to test it all

          • Yeah that seems to be the long grinding part of the event, waiting for the level up currency. So far, not a fan of that aspect of the event.

          • I was just looking through comments for info on leveling. That’s the only bit that confuses me. I spent crafting currency on the level bump, thinking it would take me to level 2…only to find it went up one block towards 2. 🙁

  14. I play the game with the sound off, except for when playing Where’s Maggie, but sometimes I like to turn the sound on when I’m turning in my coins at Gaming Moe’s. Makes it more fun to play the slots.

  15. Hi Alissa, Have I missed the post about the Players Club. Somehow I have 120 points earned and have no idea how they got there or why no other points have been amassed?!?!? P.S. Your baby is adorable!

    • Thank you 🙂 We think she’s a keeper 😉

Player club post isn’t up yet. But it will be up around noon today, so give it about 3hrs and the details are all there…

    • You get 120 cards for your 1st prize (Burns Fountain). The only way to get cards is to get prizes (Fountain, Chapel, Milhouse, etc), constructing items (stars, fountains, spotlights and purchasing premium items for this event (wives, sign, Frottage).

  16. The “cheat” by banging on the reels is not completely random. It always/only comes up if you spin beer/whiskey/pickled eggs in that order. It’s nice that they gave us 3 ways to get the 400 chip jackpot of 3 Barneys.

    • Yes, but when I say random I mean there’s nothing you can do to trigger it. It’s to prevent the questions of “how do i get the cheat to come up”..which i’ve answered about 50 times already lol

  17. Saving your tokens can be extremely useful if your daily Casino quest is to farm one of the crafting resources. Yesterday I got keychains. Today I got consolation cards.

  18. This event and the resulting words on the website have blocked this site on my company’s firewall as being gambling related. I find it funny. I check the site on my breaks, and found I couldn’t access it. I hope I don’t get in trouble, lol. I guess work is telling me I’m addicted.

  19. Sometimes there are winning streaks (including cheating) where I get triples five times in a row, evwn Barnie twice in a row. And then there are times with multiple losses. However, in the total sum I think Moe’s is rigged in a way that you get a large plus out of it at the end of the day. So everybody is a winner. Yay.

    • Everybody’s a winner except Moe. But in typical Simpsons style, I’m sure he’ll realize he’s past broke sooner or later! Luckily he has ready access to plenty of sweet, sweet Duff to ease the pain of yet another failed venture.

  20. Will the tokens be used during the next act? That’s the big question,

I don’t think EA are that stupid and we can hoard and go faster during the next mini game.

  21. Is anyone else finding the slot machine a little tedious already? After building up a small stack of 30 or so tokens I tried to clear them all at once… Clearly I’m not the gambling type because I found the process mind numbingly slow.

If there are more ‘games’ released as the event progresses I really hope they’re more interactive.

    • It’s not so bad, it’s more the delay of waiting for the you won or lost to popup and then having to hit play again, that takes too long for me. But I am a gambler lol

    • I’m not – but, then again, I only play about 10 at a time or so throughout the day…whenever I want a little extra fun!

    • My aunt likes to sit in front of a jackpot machine for hours playing in very small amount like cents. She is very entertained. I think the sound, the light and the atmosphere promotes it. The Moe game has very realistic background noise! I always turn up the volume when I play Moe game.

  22. I know it may not be part of this explanation and it may have been covered elsewhere, I did do a brief check, but how do the Upgrade Tier purchases (from the crafting menu, there are two Tier purchases available given two different types of currency) do, er, anything? I may have missed a dialogue box or a post or something…

  23. Good guide – thanks! I enjoy the sounds they have assigned to each of the items when they pop up on the machine!
    .

  24. I wonder after the event if this, and assuming the other ones to unlock, will keep their mini game. Maybe we gamble donuts instead of coins then…

    • With other events bringing elements into regular game play (rail yard, the Maggie game, rocket launch) I wouldn’t be surprised if we will be able to gamble after the event ends. Maybe once or twice a day with a chance to win in-game cash, maybe some decos, or a small chance of donuts.

    • I have a feeling you will never see gambling with donuts allowed. That’s way too close to real gambling, since it opens the door to people buying donuts just for that and you don’t actually win anything “real” as a result.

      • I’d be surprised if you could gamble with donuts. Gambling with in-game cash to win donuts, that I could see.

  25. Anybody having an issue today with coin payout not updating your total coin count? Had 13 coins last night. When tapping this AM got another 10-12 coins but still show as only having 13 coins (no I did not play slots today and yes I did sync)

  26. I love playing the slots. It makes me happy to win something 95% of the time without having to risk losing anything.

Thank you for this article. I’m glad to know that I read everything correctly and there’s no other ways to earn resources yet.

One question though, are the Casino Challenges a separate thing? When I tap the icon in my active quests area, it says “Complete a daily Casino Challenge,” then I tap ok or whatever and it just takes me to the regular daily challenges we’ve been doing. It doesn’t seem to have any other options. Am I missing something?

  27. Hoarding tokens.
Do you think the tokens will stay for the next act??

  28. sonicboiny834 ryan

I hate gambling but I love Simpson gambling!

  29. Elvis Jagger Abdul Jabar

Thanks Alissa! Informative as always. Will you be doing a post on crafting and levelling up on it?

    • Yup. It’s a LOT of details…and very tedious, so it’s taking me long than I’d like it to. But i do plan on having it up today….whether that’s this afternoon or tonight it’ll be up today lol

      • I’ve been checking this site multiple times to see if a crafting post was in the works. So relieved to hear it is! Unlike the previous crafting events, this one seems more confusing to me / harder to progress for some reason but that might just be me.

  30. After we get Lucius Sweet, would it make sense to hoard tokens for Act 2 to get a jump on chips for Act 2 prizes?

    • That’s my thought process…but it depends on if you want donuts from the bonus rounds.

      • It seems to me that you could still get your bonuts from the final bonus round even if you hoard them all the way to the end of the last act, as they should just build up until the end of the event, right? Of course, if the current act is about to end, and you’ve *almost* reached the bonut payout, that might be a good time to start pulling that lever…

        • Assuming there’s bonuts. I don’t like to say yes or no until I can confirm and see it live in game with my own eyes. But honestly, that’s how i’m playing. Get the prizes and hoard tokens and see what happens. But I don’t mind if I’m wrong…

        • BUT !!!!!
I think in each act the Bonut amount gets higher as it progresses, so it would make sense to get some Bonuts in earlier acts.

          • True; I thought about that too, though Alissa’s speculation that there might not be any bonuts at all after the final act had not occurred to me. I rarely get more than one or two rounds of bonuts at the end of an act, anyway… but truth be told, I’m not even expecting to complete all three acts of this particular event, as I have a lot going on right now. (Mostly good stuff, mind you: preparing for a vacation cruise in a few weeks, for example. 😎 )

    • What about crafting? Considering slots are one of the main ways to get crafting currency, I’m not sure I could handle not knowing if I was gonna be able to unlock all three levels of crafting & take it on faith that when I finally spend my tokens I’ll get enough. More comforting to see that bar gradually fill up (as slowly as it does).

      • Then again, if EA realizes that they’ve been too stingy with the crafting currency payouts and change it to be more generous in the middle of the event, those who have hoarded tokens will be sitting pretty.
