Special thanks to Kim (kimberlyah794) for helping out with this post. Y’all may know Kim from the comments and from some guest posts during the Winter and Casino Event. Thanks for the help, again, Kim! (and a note from Alissa…we’re going to be cranking out these Act 2 prize posts over the next day or so. Sorry they’re on the late side, so many other things going on with Act 2 (and all those Should I Buy post requests….) kept pushing these to the back burner..)
Hey, hey, hey, fellow Tappers!
Viva Las Springfield! The Casino Event has arrived in Springfield…and it’s full of Vegas inspired decorations, buildings and games!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Green Chips () to unlock each prize!
The first Act 2 prize awarded at 6,800 is the Newark Newark sign. And who wouldn’t want a giant neon sign in front of one of their casinos, especially one promoting the “Legends of Cleavage” with a rat atop it?
So let’s take a closer look at this first prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 6,800 you’ll automatically be awarded the Newark Newark sign and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield Immediately or Store it in your inventory for later. Remember, if you store it you’ll have to go into your inventory to place it in Springfield later…
REALLY IMPORTANT: The sign awards 120 . However, you MUST place it in your Springfield in order to get credit for 120 . If you store it in your inventory immediately and don’t place in Springfield you won’t get credit for the Club Cards. You’ll get credit once you place it. So don’t think just because you stored it you’ll never get the Club Card Points. Just place it in Springfield and the points will be awarded to you.
Once placed in Springfield, the sign has some dialogue that pops up:
Lenny: Wow, a casino that celebrates all that’s great about New Jersey.
Carl: Yep. They have a walk-around Tony Soprano who’ll overcharge you for concrete.
(Note from Alissa…not gonna lie as a Jersey resident, an Italian one at that, this had me cracking up…)
Here are some quick facts about the sign:
Build Time: Instant
Club Card Points: 120 when placed
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Vanity +100
Where Can I Place It?: Grass/Pavement/Beach/Boardwalk/Pier
What Does It Do?: Animated, lights flash
And there you have it the details behind the Newark Newark Sign – the first Act 2 Prize!
Lucky Casino, Awarded at 18,150 (or +11,350 from the Newark Newark Sign). This is the next prize we’ll break down.
So that my friends is the full breakdown of the first Act 2 prize!
What do you think of the Newark Newark Sign? Where have you placed it in your Springfield? Thoughts on the Casino Event? Enjoying yourself so far? Sound off in the comments below; you know we love hearing from you!
Again thanks to Kim (kimberlyah794) for her input on this post!
I placed it infront of Classy Strip Club (featuring Nelson’s Mom) -why? It’s the only strip club I have in my town so thought “Legends” yadda yadda made sense there, plus the neon rodent makes sense with Mrs. Muntz’s rodent running away when she does her dancing there.
Just last night I thought of buying a windmill to make my own Moulin Rouge.
Do the game tokens transfer over to the next event?
To the next act? They should.
I didn’t realize there was a giant rat on top of the sign….that’s why I luv these posts…I never thought to place my signs like that..so thanks to Lee3472 for that lil bit of inspiration!
Is cleavage a dirty innuendo of the beautiful lady line? Or is it the phase where the zygote repeatedly divide itself in the fertilisation process?
It’s the manner in which rocks and minerals fracture when struck.
It’s cool looking but not really sure what to do with all these signs
Thanks Kim and Alissa,
I’ve discovered (probably after everyone else) that this sign can be placed behind any building so it appears to be fixed to the roof, for people creating their own casinos from heights pieces or whatever is lying around. 💡 💡 ….ah,……….
💡 “wailing walls entertainment complex©” anyone? 💡
🙂 🃏 🎤 ♥ 🎶 ♣ 🎹 ♦ 🎷 ♠ 🎺 🎲 🎲 🎰 🙂
This is from before the casino event, but what if they just added Treehugger Lisa to the Titans of Trash collection, and instead of earning a premium rate on her cash payouts, what if she could recycle at every building and have a few premium payout on glass, metal and Plastic like Jesse Grass? That would make fully upgrading the redwood worth it!
I meant was for her to earn at a premium rate at recycling.
Not for those who never got to do the Monorail event :/
Dang it. I just found a typo. *facepalm* “REALLY IMPORTANT: The Burns’ Fountain awards 120 cards.”
nah that’s probably my typo…i’ll fix it.
