Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The Wild West Removal Update has hit the App Store. Right now I only see it for iOS…but Android and Kindle sit tight. It’s currently live on iOS and Android (for Android you may have to search Tapped Out in your app store and update from there. It doesn’t always show in the Play Store for some reason). Kindle players, let me know when it hits for you… And now it’s also live for Kindle.
Downloading this will REMOVE the Wild West Event from your game. You’ll no longer see bandits or the event icons. Springfield will return to normal. (and so will your Daily Challenges)
This update should also cure a lot of your space issues for many players. Since all of the Wild West items are being pulled…
Nothing new to play with the update, but there are two new items are in the store as well..leftovers from the event..as well as a little teaser in the App Store description..
App Store Description alludes to something coming next…Perhaps something nerdy (or Collegiate like)…or something Super-duper..or hey maybe Donald and Bernie will finally debate live in Springfield!
And two new items in the store…
Now you can have your very own NPCs from the Wild West Event! (I know Brooders is dying to get her hands on these guys….)
I’m not going to do full blown Should I Buy posts on these guys. They’re NPCs. If you like them and want them get them..otherwise save your donuts. Here’s a quick recap on each:
Prospector:

Yes I forgot to buy Buck McCoy in my B game. Happens sometimes…
Comes with a task to Tap the Prospector. And when you tap him he swings his axe and flips it in the air, and that’s it.
Brutus:
Part of the Old West Villains Collection
Comes with a task to Tap Brutus. And when you tap him he pulls the arrow out of his hat and scratches his chin with it, and that’s it.
So grab em if you want em…otherwise save those donuts for something better!

Good to see the back of this one the prizes weren’t up to much and few and far between. The nine donuts on offer don’t even cover the ones lost in the daily challenges to event currency ones. Compare this to the Halloween one last year which was the same but with bonus and weekly challenges.
That’s very true. My way of making that sound better is that during an event you get things for free by collecting the event resources that otherwise might cost donuts. Just think about how some of the characters or buildings return and cost donuts now. So, it’s okay with me. Also, if you’re very against it, you don’t even need the DCS to help you get event resources, then X them out as much as you can and hope that they’re replaced by a donut task. 🙂
My daily task is to capture the Wanted Bandit….how do I do that if he is gone?
You can skip the task by pressing the X in the corner of the daily task. It’ll replace the task with one you can do 🙂

Did they take away the dirt and dirt roads?
Are Brutus and the prospector limited-time items? I didn’t see a timer underneath them and I’d like to know if I can wait and get them later.

My daily task is to take down the bandit……..how am I to complete my daily task if he is gone?

I have not yet updated.
If you update it’ll remove that task. You cannot complete it now that the event is over.
I’m a it disappointed that I wasn’t able to craft anymore items with the event currency I was still earning while waiting for the takedown to hit 🙁
I crafted almost all the event currency before the event ended. Got lots and lots of rocks now in inventory.

I, honestly, would rather have a bandit as NPC than a prospector or brutus. Above all, none.
There is a lot in that teaser and it can go in so many directions.
Prior to that teaser there was that Question Mark that said “Something Hot” and thus people suspected the Chili Cook off and I would say it is plausable if they said “Souped Up Sequel” instead of “Suped Up Sequel”. But I thought the “Something Hot” may have been a wink to the quote “Hot Stuff Coming Through” from the Steel Mill since last year June was Pride Month and that would be considered a sequal but nothing else really fits unless it’s part of an ominously foreshadowing political thriller (like a Giant Toilet and who can visit it) :p
SUPEd up sequal and origin story does sound like SuperHero Event Part 2.
Or since they mentioned Political thriller will this be an event that goes into July 4th and be semi-lame characters like Mary Bailey and The-amendment-to-be?
But the Gary thing people assume it is Gary (one of the 3 college nerds), is the origin story about whom created Skyfinger or the game itself?
I strangely hope the Gary was somehow about God’s Unicorn and that might explain the Origin Story (lol, I know, wishful thinking)

Not sure how it will play out, but I’m hoping something like Civil War, Radioactive man, and Homer on one side, Bart and Fallout Boy on the other (with new additions of course)

i agree with Totbox it all points to superheros sequel. also the general store coming soon question mark remained after yesterdays donuts were checked off until removal today so im thinking something today or tomorrow is coming. Although a short break would be nice

The French description was different and literally says “Superhero”. (via Topix) I think the political part might be part of the Superhero 2 update, or it’s just using the US political [insert word here] to help boost interest.
Gary has been mentioned before….
The polticial part might be a nod to Captain America 2 which was a superhero movie mixed with a political thriller.

Well, glad the takedown’s here. Apparently, EA themselves may have noticed how we’re able to use the Act III extended time exploit. That being said, as soon as the time went to zero, it became impossible to claim the final prize. In other words, all you can do now is nothing but do the app update takedown.
The update removed the task for Homer to dig for gold- which was my last task for the event. Now, the X-patch is only 1/2 way dug out & there is apparently no way to continue past that point.
Here’s hoping they give a fix for it.
I don’t know that they will…that was one of those questlines removed with the event. I would contact EA and see what they have to say..
Same thing happened to me. I thought it was a quest line I could finish later like all the other things I won/unlocked. I hadn’t read anything otherwise, so I held off. I take solice in the fact that it looks cooler as buried treasure. I already have a big pile of gold in my town. I don’t need another. 😉
Take another solace in that I’m super jealous. There wasn’t even a good payoff to finishing the questline…I would have gladly not finished it to keep my treasure buried.
What was the final prize from the wild west event? The one from the general store after the donut prize?

So with the update, all my characters have been replaced by black squares. Kind of an interesting glitch. Feels like they’re trying to protect the identities like some TV show.
Hopefully it goes away, but for now adds an element of surprise to the game as you never really know who you’re tapping.
Click on the move icon (looks like four arrows), tap on the Bart/Homer button twice. This might help. Otherwise you have to contact EA.
Restarting device and/or freeing up memory can also help with this issue at times.
Not buying either NPC. Not a fan of NPC’s in general, but even though there are some I really would like (but usually will not pay donuts for), these two don’t appeal to me at all. Brutus especially was such a senseless kind of add-in thing. I think the update is hinting at nothing. Maybe teasers for a bunch of ideas they’re still working on, but seems to be saying “nothing for right now”. I’m sure we won’t be waiting very long though for the next event. I kind of dislike jumping from event to event, but this is the new TSTO and I do still like it, even if I prefer the old way better. I guess people can’t live with a week of downtime to tap and design anymore…. ADHD wins again, because that’s what we’re cultivating…

Question. So when I update, all those pickaxe gold coins, hats and things will go away? Or will it keep the amount and just change to whatever things are on the new event? I only started playing during the start of the event. I go back and forth from this site and the game lol. If it all resets should I just deplete all my resources in the store before updating?

Everything goes away. If it’s a currency associated with an event it’s only used for that event. You should deplete your resources…but there’s currently nothing to deplete them on, as everything was removed last night.
I thought “SOMETHING HOT” was supposed to be upcoming according to the General Store teaser.

I’m hoping, fingers crossed, touch wood, etc and so forth for something based around the Merciless Pepper of Quetzalacatenango/El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer episode.
But sexy nerds are good too.
I can’t remember at the moment, but didn’t they tease “badlands” forever before the next event released like 3 weeks later? So, maybe the “something hot” is still coming, like minor event style, and then this Superheroes 2 as a real event in 3 weeks.
You may be right, s7, if memory serves me correctly, the “teaser” & “?” was slated to be available 24 hours after the close of the WW event. So “Something Hot” may appear (or at least become available) in less than 4 hours (from the time I am typing this reply).
If the teaser is from the Mysterious Journey of Jomer episode, pmonk, I’d still vote/hope for the Space Wolf to be awarded.

I actually appreciate a comment like this (well, the first one(s moderated)). It gives me a time stamp for when the app was not quite ready on Android. (Sure, the one that says the app is ready is slightly better…)
I am glad it is over, and I hope that a new event is a little ways off. I need to spend some time and nuke my Springfield and remodel it. I do have one complaint. I have so many decorations from events that I don’t want, but there is no way to get rid of them, and they count towards the limit of objects you can have. I don’t usually craft anything but the bare minimum for events, but I’ve been playing for more than 2 years, and I have a lot of leftovers
From what I’ve read here, items don’t count towards your total if they are in your inventory. So store what you don’t want and that should help with the problem. Also, some items can be sold for in-game-cash if you really don’t want them anymore. I haven’t had this issue yet, so hope that information is correct!
Cool !! Now I can get back to the main game and do a little cleanup. I started this game only days before this event started. I’m level 45 thanks to the Frink deal. (Yeah, I spent the $7 or whatever it was.) But I’m only on the Level 25 to 28 quests. Lvl-25 (Smithers) is almost done. He’s currently sleeping it off. Lvl-26, Brockman is undercover. Lvl-27 is half done. Lvl-28, Tony’s Compound will be done when I get home tonight. Maggie’s long quest is now done. Lvl-29 (Agnes) has triggered but I want to finish up everything else, build up some cash, and purchase more land, before starting a new quest. jhart05 Thanks.

I updated and there appears to be a bug where the old task to create dirt roads comes up. I tried to place 5 of them and the task never clears.

And have them have “Use Rock Tumbler” as a task, which also includes a task for Bart and Lisa called “Watch Scratchy finally get Itchy”.
I’m not sure how we would be getting Gary since there will not be anymore characters introduced when you level up. The only way we would get a new character is via a new event. Right?

Yeah, 939 should have been a second set of characters, like at least a skin like with Money Mountain and the Redwood Tree. That would have made level 60 even more special. (Or do I just mean special?)

They’re the nerds from Springfield U when Homer goes back to college.The episode is Homer Goes to College, from Season 5 I believe.
