It’s time to gear up for the summer games in Springfield! Gather up those participation ribbons and be prepared for the fix to be in from Fat Tony, as we journey through the wonderful world of “sports” with the residents of our pocket-sized Springfields!
One element added for this event is pin collecting! Where you collect a variety of Olympic Pins in Springfield to unlock Fatov, a fun mascot like character for Springfield! And yes…Fatov is a FULL character, not just an NPC.
So let’s take a look at just how you unlock Fatov, Pin Collector Lisa and how the heck you earn all those stinking pins!
So the Pin Stand is the third prize awarded on the Springfield Games questline prize track. We’ve got how you earn that in the Turbo Tappin’ post, that went up yesterday, but for those that need a refresher here’s how you earn it…
Springfield Games Pt. 3
Make Lisa Encourage Adults to Start Training- 3hrs, Earns 1
, 35xp
Collect Participation Ribbons- x32. Earns 1 Freemium and 2 Premium. Here’s who you can Send:
Task: Adults, Reluctantly Train for the Games. Lugash, Train Kids in Secret. Kids, Train for the Go-Kart Races.
Time: 3hrs
Lugash- Earns 2
Skinner- Earns 1
Homer- Earns 1
Carl-Earns 1
Lenny-Earns 1
Moe-Earns 1
Bart-Earns 1
Milhouse-Earns 1
Nelson-Earns 1
Martin-Earns 1
Once you’ve unlocked the Pin Stand you’ll start up the Prickly Obsession questline,which is a quick little questline to unlock Pin Collector Lisa. Here’s a look at the Prickly Obsession questline…
A Prickly Obsession Pt. 1
Lisa starts
Make Lisa Visit the Springfield Pin Stand- 6s, Earns $35, 1xp
A Prickly Obsession Pt. 2
Lisa starts
Make Lisa Buy the Springy Pin- 6s, Earns $35, 1xp
After you complete it
Make Lisa Buy Just One More Pin- 6s, Earns $35, 1xp
At this point you’ll unlock Pin Collector Lisa
A Prickly Obsession Pt. 3
Lisa starts
Make Lisa Play the Sax for Pins- 3hrs, Earns 1 pin and 35xp (if you already have the pins this is a 24hr task)
In addition to unlocking Pin Collector Lisa via the Pin Stand questline you’ll also unlock a fun little game to collect Pins.
You’ll see the Fatov start to appear in your Springfield…he’ll appear every 3hrs.
Tapping the Fatov will earn you an Olympic Pin!
The cool thing is, especially if you have a massive town, when Fatov appears (and you’ll get a warning in your game that he’s appeared
You can just tap his icon in the game (and then Do It) to immediately go to where Fatov is roaming in your town..
This will make life super easy….
Once you’ve located Fatov, simply tap on him and a pin will appear!
Collect all of the pins to unlock Fatov as a permanent character in your Springfield!
Note: You can view your Pin Collection at anytime by tapping on the Pin Stand..
Earning all of the Pins…
You’ve got a couple of options for earning Pins. You can wait till Fatov appears, once every 3hrs and tap on him to earn them.
You can also purchase all of the missing pins for donuts…
Earning ALL of the pins (6 total) will unlock Fatov as a permanent (with full tasks) character in your Springfield!
Bottle Caps…and Pins
So you may notice a note about missing Bottle Caps that says Trade Bottle Caps for Missing Pins…
So how do you earn Bottle Caps? Well…Fatov will appear every 3hrs and tapping him will earn you pins. BUT it’s entirely possible you’ll get a pin you already have. Just because you have a pin doesn’t mean you won’t get it again next time you tap Fatov.
So Bottle Caps are what you get for trading in duplicate pins. And you can then trade those Bottle Caps for missing pins from your collection…
Basically it’s a one for one thing. You can trade in a pin you already have for Bottle Caps and exchange those caps for another Pin. Each pin will cost you 30 Bottle Caps…
Note: You can view your Pin Collection at anytime by tapping on the Pin Stand..
How Else Can I Earn Pins, Besides Tapping Fatov?
Pin Collector Lisa will have a 3hr task, before you collect all 6 pins, to play her Sax for pins. Completing this task will earn you a pin. (Note: You cannot rush this task…)
Once you’ve earned all 6 pins Lisa’s task will go from 3hrs to 24hrs…
So now that you know how to unlock Pin Collector Lisa and Fatov, let’s take a look at their full Permanent Task lists….

Did anyone else find it ridiculously easy to unlock all 6 pins? I didn’t even need to trade in any bottle caps. Weird, and somewhat pointless. Not challenging at all.

Side note: I was in Sydney cheering on Team Canada at the 2000 Olympics, and remember Eric the Eel quite well. A polarizing figure with some like the commentator in the video not liking him being there, and others like myself feeling that it is one of the great moments in Olympics and what the Olympics is all about.
Yeah, I got all six without having to trade bottle caps either although I came pretty close to having to trade in for the final one. Still, it was a neat idea.
Me too! I had all of them in less than 12 hours of starting, with no bottle cap swapping. Yet both my sons took days to get them all

I have the task to make Lisa play sax for pins stuck to my taskbook. I keep sending her on the task but nothing happens in the taskbook – the task just sits there with an exclamation mark and no timer when I click on it, just the “do it” button (even though it’s already being done). Is this how it’s supposed to be?
That’s the way it is in my game too. I imagine it’ll go away once you collect all the pins and earn Fatov.
Was think as I was driving my car that this would make a great event on its own, collecting pins, bottle tops and ribbons and swapping with neighbours, ea could do there manic on a new event were everyone get involved unless its already been done?
I gotta admit, these pins are pretty darn neat. I can see how someone could totally go nuts collecting them.

I already have 5 pins and 16 bottle caps. Should be no problem at all to unlock Fatov today.
I like how you really can calculate whether you’ll be able to unlock something or not when randomness is involved. The bottle cap fallback option is sweet for those with particularly bad luck on getting the different pins from unlocked Fatov or Sax-playing Lisa.
I thought I would offer up a tip for the pins. Wait to trade bottle caps for pins until you have enough to complete your collection, that way you won’t end up trading for a pin only to be awarded the same one from Lisa or Fatov. This is the fastest way to ensure you complete the quest line and unlock Lisa’s new outfit.
I’ve got Fatov in my secondary game; but keep getting bottle caps in my main game. His animated task of exercise earns participation ribbons.
Sweet got my WiFi problem fixed so time to catch up. Looks like a fun mini event.

I was seriously thinking about storing Fatov as soon as I earned him, but premium earnings?? Now I’m really conflicted! Why did they have to have such a bizarre cartoonish character? And two of the four most common times I use are visual tasks! Conversely, the only timeframe that Lisa’s new skin only has one outdoor task, and it’s for the one timeframe I pretty much never use.
Bleh.
It would be cool if EA could eventually give you the ability to swap the visual location in your task so you can see it easier.

Do you just get one bottle cap for trading in a pin?
Honestly I don’t know….i have yet to get a duplicate.
I got 4 bottlecaps each time.

This seems like a really fun task- I was reminded of the pin obsession episode and laughed.
I also laughed when I saw Fatov- I thought he looked like a potato- it is great he will be permanent ( if I can get him that is)

Yeah, Fatov is just a “pin” Bart cut out of Homers Driver’s License, it’s just Homer’s face upside down with 2 dots for eyes.

Do not donut through the medals before Lisa gets her Pin Collector outfit. If you do, she will be unable to do the task she needs to do to collect medals which eventually unlocks the outfit. You will be stuck with an undoable task and won’t get the costume.
She can do it..it just doesn’t unlock until the questline tells you do. I used the donuts to clear the tasks/questline last night
Just to be clear, this has nothing to do with clearing the Springfield Games questline, it’s about the Pin Collector Lisa. I have the “Play Sax For Pins” in the taskbar, but because it wasn’t completed and the task is gone from regular Lisa’s tasks, there is no possibility of completing the task.
If I had gotten the skin, maybe, but it seems you should not donut pin collection until you have the skin.
I can not clear the collect pins for Lisa task. Every time I send her it does not remove it from my list of tasks. Anyone else have this problem. I have tried restarting, visit neighbors and krustyland, but it still remains.
Try storing and replacing the stand
Nothing worked in the end. But I got all the pins and fatov now and the task just disappeared from my list now.

I had a fortunate glitch when Fatov first appeared. After tapping him once, I tapped on the Pin Stand. The game froze, but after a hard close and restart, I was able to tap him right away again. Two pins right off the bat. Thanks to that, and subsequent tappings, I already have 4 of the 6 pins needed to unlock him. Looking forward to having that weird little dude in my town. 😀
I had a similar thing happen, though my game didn’t crash. He appeared for the first time, I logged out. Few minutes later, I went back in because I forgot to play Find Maggie…lo and behold, game tells me Fatov is in my town. Got a second pin, and I am also 2 away from unlocking him.
Apparently it’s happened for others, too. Any player friendly glitch is A-OK with me!
Twice now when I have gone I to my game it has given me the option to tap Fatov to get a pin. The first time I got a duplicate and the second time a new pin … YAY!
As someone who is addicted to collecting pins IRL this certainly hits home for me. Can’t wait to unlock it.
Wish there were more pins to get though. Maybe they can keep it going. Add special pins each event you have to try and collect, go back and do ones from precious events.
This is adorable. This was a really good newer episode, and the stand wil go PERFECTLY in my chili cookoff festival area!! I also didn’t get Lizard Queen Lisa so this is a nice ‘crazy Lisa’ substitute LOL

I just got another in game update. Now the mini Event disappeared. I did not start the Event yet, I only read the intro, but never started with the 1st Task for Lisa. Strange.
Hard close the game and reopen it. If it’s still missing uninstall and reinstall TSTO

True, I have too many NPC’s who just wander around doing nothing. That said, EA has in the past assigned tasks to some of these characters (AS, SLH), so I keep them out just in case.
Who are AS and SLH? I keep my NPC locked away, but will get them out if they can earn me cash or XP.

same and yeah I’ve been with tapped out from the first day it came for Android. I want them all to get jobs, it annoys me to have the characters that have no jobs. It’s fine if things like the Funzo’s and the birds but it still feels like most of the NPC’s we’ve got should have been given jobs too.. But I bought them and keep them around just in case….. Why didn’t Nessie get any jobs?
