Sci-Fi Event Act 3 is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Welcome to the wee early morning hours…at least here on the East Coast. It’s just after 3am on the East Coast of the US…but who can sleep with Stephen Hawking conspiring to take over our Pocket-sized Springfields with an army of deranged Robots?!  Act 3 of the Sci-Fi Event is upon us….so have at it my friends!

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Hawking will start this for you with dialogue from Stephen Hawking and the Robots.  This will be followed by a task to play the Sci Fighter game and defeat Mecha Hawk, the newest Robot. (I’ll warn you it’s not as easy as you think.  Some details below).  This will then be followed by a 4hr task for Hawking at the Polyvac.   Oh, and you will have to complete the Act 2 questline (Smack to the Future Pt. 10).  So if you didn’t complete it yet, you won’t see the new questline.

Act 3 runs until September 20th

Just what does Act 3 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…

sci-fi icon

New Prize Currency for Act 3.

indicator_scifi_matter Anti Matter

So the ability to earn Chronons is now gone.  Your counter prize track for Act 3 has reset to zero because you have zero Anti Matter.  So forget about the Chronons and now it’s time to start over with Anti Matter.

You’ll earn Anti Matter very similar to how you earned Chronons in Act 2….

hawkingradiation

-Tapping Robots in your town (They drop 1 antimatter, robot part and future buck each ) (REMEMBER: Playing the Mini Game/4hrs clears your town of ALL the Robots..and you get credit for them.  Confused?  Read this post)
-Sending the Multiverse Homer’s on tasks at the PolyVac (Premium sending Rocker Maggie, Lady Bot & Frank Grimes on tasks there)
-Questline
-SciFighter Mini-Game
-Tapping Robots in a Neighbor’s town
-Tapping Anomolies/Cubes in a Neighbor’s Town

Everything pays out the same as it did in Act 2.

There’s also a new Robot to tap in the mini game

mecha_hawk

He gives the other robots a power boost and attacks from afar.  So when you see him popup near the PolyVac (usually about 10 seconds into the game) you need to tap him, several times, in order to defeat him.  But you have to be careful to try and tap the robots as they’re invading your PolyVac at the same time.  Otherwise they’ll defeat you before you clear Mecha Hawk.  BUT you can’t really tap them while Mecha Hawk is there.  So tap Mecha Hawk quickly (I believe it’s 10 times) and quickly move over to the robots.

Hint: It’ll be good to use those flashes with this one, to use after you’ve cleared Mecha Hawk or when it first appears if you have a bunch of robots about to attack your PolyVac.  And quickly.

And unfortunately for this act you’re going to have to do a LOT of defeating Mecha Hawk at the PolyVac for the questline.  So it’ll take some practice.  It’s really not as easy as it looks.  I’ll try to do a quick video later today demoing it and when to use the flash for those who are confused…

Act 3 Personal Prizes

As you can see…this prize track is very short.  As Act 3 is only 1 week long..

mech_robot Mech Robot- 2,750 indicator_scifi_matter (some of you may remember seeing this animation in some friends towns…now it’s finally here)

crazy_plane Crazy Plane- 5,500 indicator_scifi_matter

mecha_hawk Mecha Hawk- 8,250 indicator_scifi_matter

Bonuts are still there after prize track is complete.  Chance for them with every 3000 Antimatter.

Act 2 Prizes…

If you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “ACT TWO PRIZES” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright buy each one left at the point you left off at. (Just like every other event recently.)

Act 3 Crafting

Crafting remains, as it was during Act 1 and Act 2.

You can view the details on how to craft…including using Future Bucks…here

Questline Tip:

In case I don’t get the Turbo Tappin’ up before you’ve finished the first 4hr task with Hawking…

The next part Homer starts and it’s a task for the Alternate Homers at the PolyVac (it’s different than their regular 4hr task, so you can’t pre start this prior to triggering the task), you’ll also have to collect 1500 antimatter, and use the PolyVac once more to defeat Mecha Hawk.

Evil Homer

After you’ve unlocked all 3 prizes you’ll get a task to send all the Multiverse Homer’s back to where they came from..(well really about 3 tasks to send them back…it takes awhile) And then another task with Homer.  At this point you’ll unlock Evil Homer to keep in your Springfield.  Except he’s an NPC.  So no tasks for this guy…if you tap him he’ll have some animation and that’s about it.

  1. When will the crashing stop when visiting neighbors!!! Each neighbor I visit I get kicked out of the game. Some neighbors have left because I am unable to visit. 🙁 It is very frustrating!! I play on the iphone 6-plus. UGH!! 🙁

    • This exact same issue has been plaguing my game for months! I agree with you – it’s sooooo frustrating!!! I, too, play on an iPhone 6 Plus; I’m starting to suspect that this is an issue with playing the game on this particular device as I’ve seen multiple comments in this forum from others with the same problem as us. A few times, I’ve contacted EA in regard to the crashing, but to no avail. They’ve just given me the same spiel and have told me to uninstall/reinstall the app et cetera, which obviously doesn’t solve the issue. BLARGH! I really wish EA would fix this! ☹️

      • One thing that helps me (had this issue just last night) is to shut down and restart my whole tablet. That seems to make a huge difference for me.

      • I had an iPad 2 and it was crashing so badly it would crash almost every visit. Some people’s towns would take two minutes to load. (I have fancy friends!) I tried all the tricks and also thought my wifi was just slow. I lost some friends too. 🙁 Then my husband got me a new iPad for my birthday and it is so much faster! 😀 Good luck, Coral!

        • Hey, neighbour! 🏡🏠 *Waves* My game started crashing during neighbour visits immediately after doing an event update. (I can’t remember exactly which one though.) At that point, my device wasn’t even a year old and I did (and still do) have plenty of available memory. My game doesn’t have loading/lagging issues either. I’ll probably get a new device in a few months, so it will be interesting to see if that solves the problem. Anyhoo, that’s awesome you got a new iPad and I’m glad to hear you’re no longer experiencing this rather irksome issue! (BTW, your town is delightfully charming and unique!)

  2. Yeah I’ve never bought licenses for any event and have always done just fine. Hoard da doughnuts, hoard ’em I say.

    • Josephine Kick@$$

This is the first event I’ve ever bought a license for (3+ yrs), I’d say the only benefit was the extra bonuts, but no way did I get enough to match what I spent. Had to try it at least once 😊

  3. I’m disappointed quest lines for the crafted items don’t earn event currency 😟

  4. I’ve lost 4 battles in a row. Need evil Homer.

    • Can you okay on something bigger than a phone? It’s much, much harder to lose if you’re playing in a tablet (especially a larger one).

  5. Garfield W Cousins

For some reason, when I tap robots in my friends town, I get the cubes, but no robot parts. I only
get robot part in my own town and when I tap the anamoly

    • Josephine Kick@$$

In the beginning I thought we got robot parts also, but only with anomalies. I usually tap 2, then move on to try and trigger them (have absolutely no idea if that works) 😊

    • I’ve been getting that too. I was told neighbours towns never gave robot parts but mine did. Now I’ve got stuff I really want to craft but have no idea how I’m going to get enough parts. It’s really annoying me 😏

    • Yes, that’s as it should be. During this event, the only neighbor taps that award robot parts is the anomaly. Tapping robots in neighbors’ towns had never yielded robot parts, just each act’s event currency.

  6. I saved up three completed chronon daily challenges in anticipation of this act. Dark matter tasks turned into chronons, so I figured it would work this time. It did not. They all turned into robot parts. Robot parts! The last thing I need right now! Bah.

    • YES! I was so sad (& annoyed, tbh) that they’d been changed over to various robot part tasks!

At least when I tried to change them, I got donut tasks. *shrug* #silverlining

  7. My suggestion for best success with the mini-game is to play it on the biggest device you have access to. When I play out in my 9″ tablet, the big guy didn’t really obscure anything at all, so I can take him and other robots at the same time. Of course, I realize that lots of folks don’t have the option to play on a tablet, but, if you don’t have one and someone else in your house does, see if you can get them to let you use theirs for a couple of minutes a few times a day for the next week!

  8. How does act 3 begin for Hawking? I have not sent him on a 4hr task?

  9. Seems to me that the anomalies (cubes) are gone from friend cities in Act 3. Normally I got like 3 of them on average when cleaning the towns, and up to 6 when I entered ame town several times until I got one. Now, even with multiple attempts at entering towns, I haven’t seen a single one…

  10. If you failed in your first PolyVac – send Hawking again BEFORE you try the 2nd battle!

  11. Ugh. Bart screen!

  12. It seem odd to me that the first two acts had lots of prize track items from the show and the third act is just three non-show items. They could have shifted them around a bit to make the different acts feel more even.

Evil Homer is a nice little addition though.

  13. Someone stole my burrito™

I was going to take it easy and relax during the third act because I’m only interested in the Mech Robot, but now as read above, if I want Evil Homer ( I do I do!), gotta play all the way through. Glad I got the info 🙂 Thanks

  14. I’m working on spending my future bucks. I don’t want or need all these copies of the same items but I figure I “worked” hard to earn it so might as well spend it.
I was happily crafting and storing but realized I have to place and build the object to get the XP. I now have 50+ buildings out of storage so they can build and give XP. Then back into storage they’ll go.

  15. EA is down! Boo!

  16. **Disclaimer: I have no desire to cheat**
So the people that had the mech robot with Bart back in acts 1 and 2, what did they do to get it then? Do they have a hack program? Or something that allows them to get items before everyone else? Just curious is all.

    • If you saw it in your neighbor’s town, it was a visual glitch. Most likely they did not have the robot, it just looked like it to visitors.

    • It seems it was just a glitch that only people visiting neighbours could see i.e. the neighbour didn’t actually have it at all, it just looked like they did. Having said that, there are some hackers out there – I have a few neighbours that are 100% hackers, but they always have nice things so I keep them around.

      • Josephine Kick@$$

My “conspiratory” nature told me that EA was ghosting them into neighbor’s towns as teasers to keep us wanting 😊

  17. Is EA down again? The game logged me out and says my password is invalid, just like the recent outage.

  18. For anyone who is having difficulty with the SciFighter mini-game in act three, I’ve found by using both thumbs (one for tapping exclusively on the Mecha Hawk, once it appears, and the other for tapping on all of the other robots) at the same time, works quite well; using this method, I haven’t lost any of my battles and I haven’t had any of the robots invade my PolyVac. (Also, I haven’t needed to use any flashes.) 👍🏻🤖👍🏻

    • Exactly! The two finger death tap is the way to go!

    • I’ve actually been using all of my fingers, tapping everywhere, like a madman (well, woman). But that’s only doable because I’m using a 9″ tablet…don’t think that would work on a smartphone!

    • People have been losing battles? O_o I’ve only ever lost 1 bar of health, and that’s it

      • I’m guessing you okay on a tablet, like I do. I think that game may be much, much harder on a phone.

        • Nah, it’s really not.

          • Well, okay, I’ll have to take your word for that, but my instincts say that the majority of the people who are saying that they’re frequently losing are playing in a smartphone, not a tablet.

            • perhaps if they are using one finger, then i’d give you that. but if they are using multiple fingers on both hands (like they arguably should be), it’s way easier to cover the screen real estate on a smaller smartphone than it is on a larger tablet.

        • I play on a PC, via Leapdroid. I use a mouse and don’t have the option of multi-touch… well, I suppose I could always play on my Surface Pro 3 instead but I found it quite easy madly clicking with the mouse 😛

      • Same here; only play on my Samsung S6 – I have no idea if it has a huge screen compared to most people, but I’ve never had trouble.

I was thinking it would’ve been nice to get a bonus for having a green health meter at the end if battles! *lol* 😀

  19. It doesn’t seem like the flash kills Mecha Hawk (just another tap) – go for the 10 taps as soon as he appears then use the flash at the end if desired.

  20. So…I guess we don’t get to keep the other alternate Homer’s, that sucks.

  21. So the video is really going to help me, so thank you. But can someone help me out because I’ve only played once, and things went a bit too fast for me.

I tapped him once, and it looked like he went away, so I focused on the robots, but he either kept coming back or I didn’t realize that he was still there. I managed to win with minimal destruction, but I used a flash.

So does he leave and you have to tap him to make him go away 10 times or do you need to tap him 10 times all at once? Does he move around? I really did not understand those 20 seconds of my life.

  22. Just bought the Chester and Modern House combo and the rebate went thru fine. A note…(Chester and the car)and (the Modern house) go into your inventory separately…when you place them, put the house out first. This will trigger the correct quest for Chester that earns event currency. If you place Chester first, a different quest starts which just earns $. Both quests can run at tha same time, but it makes sense to earn event currency first. Hope this made sense…only one cup of coffee so far.

  23. guess evil homer goes into the storage forever then.

  24. Im over this event. Actually im over events in general. I do like the mini ones that last a week tho. So….im going off the rails of the crazy plane!!!!

    Dun-dun dun-dun dun-dun
    i-i-i
    Dun-dun dun-dun dun-dun 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Sharon!!!! I need more bloody antimatter!!!

    • Thank you for saying what I’ve been thinking for a while now. I think events just need a change of how they operate. The crafting and prize track and tapping little ppl is getting old. Also, new characters and buildings for everyday Springfield would be amazing. (Hinting at Sarah Wiggim and Stoners Pot Palace)

  25. The plane will fit in my airport area, but most of the other future stuff will be stored at the end of the event.

  26. I have to say that I’ve enjoyed the story that has gone along with this event, but many of the prizes/crafting items don’t fit in Springfield, and for a final Act, the prizes are very underwhelming.

Now, if all of these buildings could move to the new area of Krustyland called Tomorrowland (trademark pending), I might have a different opinion. 🙂

  27. One thing I’m interested in is where is Evil-Homer. Maybe hes part of a Gil deal I’m not sure but personally I expected around 4 prizes with two of them being the Mecha-Robot, Robot Stephen Hawking and Evil Homer

    • Alissa answers that in the post above. He comes at the end, but he’s just an NPC.

      (Yes, Brooders – I said “just”! 😉 )

  28. -Disappointed that there are only 3 prizes on the track.
I feel like they are going to add more? maybe it’s just wishful thinking.

  29. It’s too bad this event didn’t offer any future versions of Homer and Marge to compliment Mooch Bart, President Lisa, and Rockstar Maggie.

  30. Like other tappers, I was saving a daily task that rewarded chronons, but it was replaced by a task that rewarded robot parts, not antimatter. Darn. I was hoping to get a jump on this last act.

Fortunately, I saved all my flashes. It looks like the SciFighter mini game is going be harder now.

    • I did the same.. I was saving some daily challenges, but when I saw the robot’s parts I decided to dismiss one task, and got the new one with 3 donuts; tomorrow I’ll dismiss another one to see what happens 🙂
