Looks like EA’s truly being unpredictable these days…which I do think is a good thing..and we’ve got ourselves a late in the day in-game update!
I’ll be back with more details on this in a bit…but for now know that it auto starts for you with some dialogue from Mayor Quimby, and this is followed by a task for kids of Springfield and Skinner (6s). Which is followed by tasks for the Parents of Springfield and Skinner (also 6s). And that’s followed by another 6s task for the kids. This will launch your mini event track..and start to show the prizes in the game and items you can purchase in the store.
Additionally, it looks like the tourists are back in Springfield! EA’s finally repaired the missing dialogue bug plaguing the tourists and they’ve returned to the store…so you’ll see some dialogue popup from them as well. And they’ll appear in the store for 60 donuts…

Remember this is an in-game update. Nothing to download from the App Stores. So if you don’t see it download automatically in your game try hard closing and restarting TSTO..
FYI…it appears (based on what’s being offered in the store) that this is the “military take over” event teased in the update dialogue…
First a few notes…
This Update Ends March 28th at 0800 GMT (as of right now), which is 4am EDT…
For those looking/hoping for St. Patrick’s Day…St. Patrick’s Day items are coming. They’ll be here on St. Patrick’s Day. From what I can see there’s nothing new, but if you were hoping to pick up old items they’ll be back. In a Mystery Box form…
And this event has a second component to it, Hellfish. That won’t start until next week, when the St. Patrick’s Day stuff leaves. It appears that this will at least be more items in the store to purchase….we’ll see what (if anything) else.
And finally, the Tourists (as mentioned above) are back in the store. 60 donuts for all 3 tourists. They are FULL characters (3 individual characters). They have tasks that will put them in their various costumes from the Around the World Event. I’ll have a full breakdown on them in the Should I Buy post. But the short of it…yes, this is a great buy.
Now onto what’s involved with this event…
As mentioned above you’ll have to complete a series of 6s tasks to trigger the mini event screen to appear, and new items in the store.
New Stuff…
Keep Out Sign- 15 Donuts. Earns .50% bonus on all cash and XP
Death to Homer Missile- 30 Donuts. Earns .75% bonus on all cash and XP
Rommelwood Barracks- 35 Donuts. Earns $90, 10xp/4hrs. (This will NOT unlock to purchase until you’ve unlocked it via the prizes)
WWII Tank- 40 Donuts. Earns a 1% bonus on all cash and XP 
(if you don’t have him, this comes with Sgt. Skinner for 100 Donuts.)
Hanger 18- 50 Donuts. Earns $300, 30xp/12hrs
Training Plane- 75 Donuts. Earns 3.5% bonus on all cash and XP, Earns $300, 30xp/12hrs. (Earns Coins prior to finishing the event)
Enriched Learning Center w/ Leopold- 125 Donuts. Earns $200, 22xp. Leopold earns more coins for tasks.
Returning Stuff..
Atomic Bomb- 30 Donuts. Earns .75% bonus on all cash and XP
Plastic Prison- 45 Donuts. Earns a 2% bonus on all cash and XP (yes that means if you have it from Superheroes it’ll now earn this bonus)
Obstacle Bundle- 50 Donuts.
Waverly Hills Elementary- 115 Donuts, 40 Donut rebate, Net 75 Donuts
Fort Sensible- 65 Donuts. Earns $175, 15xp/6hrs
Attack Helicopter- 55 donuts. Earns 2.25% bonus (yes that means if you previously unlocked it you’ll now get a bonus % with it)
All the time Rebate stuff
Springfield Preparatory School & Greta- 180 Donuts, 40 donut rebate, net 140 Donuts.
Now let’s talk about the prizes…. (and again I’ll have the breakdown on how to get each one in the Turbo Tappin’ post):
Rommelwood Academy– 80 
Rommelwood Statue- 180
Rommelwood Barracks- 350
Cadet Lisa- 420
The Eliminator- 450
Conquer the Eliminator Task for Cadet Lisa- 480
You may have noticed I used 
for the prizes, this is the Class Coin and the item you’ll need to collect to unlock the prizes.
How do you earn these coins? Well just like other mini events you can earn coins by sending various characters on 3hr tasks (yes, weird time). Freemium characters earn 10 each task and Premium characters earn 20 each task.
Leopold, the new premium character, will earn . Also, Greta Wolfcastle earns .
I’ll break down who can help earn for each task in the Turbo Tappin’ Post. But it’s basically the it’s in Springfield (Ralph, Martin, Nelson, Dolph, Milhouse, Bart, Lisa, Database, Janey)
After you complete the prize track you’ll be able to use the Eliminator to earn various prizes, by sending Lisa on 12hr tasks there.
And that’s it my friends, all there is to the Rommelwood Academy mini event!

😂 Just sent Bart & Lisa on their “I’ll Be Your Wingman” questline task, I hope it’s permanent, they are attached to the propellers & spin every few seconds. Definitely worth it 😊😊😊

Is training plane a good buy?
So I have a tourist strategy because I adore all three skins. When I awake I put them all in their 4 hour French outfits. Whilst at work they are Japanese visitors & finally overnight they are 12 hour Brazilian booty shakers. Who knew for 60 Donuts EA would have provided me with one of my new fave additions to the game. It’s a concept that could easily be added to. Italians, Spanish, Scandinavians. So exciting. Still deciding on my fave outfits are the Brazilian footballer and Samba dancer as they combine two of my passions…..what skins are y’all using the most? Do you have a strategy too?….💜X
I love all of the skins, so I’m just going by my time scheduling 😊

When the building is in use, a little alien is running around, as part of the building’s animation.
I’m a bit annoyed because Milhouse’s task there isn’t permanent; only Bart’s.
Thanks for the insight. I was waiting for the SIB article on the Hanger 18, but perhaps I will go ahead and pull the trigger if it includes an animated alien. I already set aside a plot of land for it.
I checked on the SIB of Waverly School it suggested me not to buy. But with 40 donuts rebate I think its an okay deal. If you liked the look of the building.
Yikes, I picked up Gretta yesterday. All my bonuts got wiped out – except for the 40 that got returned.

Odd, I had to download an update from the amazon store, the kindle version said mandatory update etc. Then I got this whole line started.
Picked up Leopold and the three tourists. The tourists are amazing, three premium characters for 60 donuts, wow, thanks EA!
Also happy about Leopold being released for a reasonable price, always great to get characters from the “golden years” of the show.
So I had a bunch of Atomic Bombs already and they aren’t providing the .75% bonus. Is that bonus only for the new ones that cost 30 donuts?

My grandpop was in WWII as a tank gunner and was in a tank that looks strikingly similar to the one TSTO is offering…so, looks like it’s time to do some KEM farming so he can get that and the tourists!

Wow that was doughnut heavy for a minievent. Love it so far though. The tourists were a great deal and a great way to offer all versions in one. Don’t tell EA but I would have paid 60 each.
Hangar 18 looked boring until the alien came out of it. Hilarious.

I just finished cramming in my airport now a large airplane and hangar to try to work in somehow. My airport is opposite the mountains so maybe I’ll just stick them off to the side till they open the next strip of land.
Nice way to kill some time until the next big thing.
Had to move my “transformer plane” out to my original airport area to make room for the hanger and training plane…loving this event so far.
Ahh, my space area was already down there and wanted to expand it with my airport. The design was never meant to be final. I just knew it was the perfect spot for an airport but I need that next strip of land. On the opposite side of the ocean I have huge tracks of empty land, I need it opposite the mountains

Still no land! Come on to heck EA just make new land available everytime you have bought the last you can still keep check with the limit of buildings and decorations and add to it every so often.
They typically release land with major events, not mini ones like this. Plus last event they have 3 strips, you’ve filled all 3 already?

I stored a few things so I could put Rommelwood in central Springfield near the Simpson home…will move it to it’s permanent(?) home after the event.
😞 but, but… the wall is so big, & I had to have it in my SF, it’s so cool… and the airport, & all the pretty houses… not to mention Le Krusty Burger… well, you get the picture 😂😂😂 (All land items)😊
I’m still working on getting the last few blocks of land, so I’m cool with them not giving us more for a while 🙂
Dude, we just had a big land update.
Bugman if you ever saw my town you would understand im a designer. So i already have plans for what goes where before land is given. This is my number one reason why i love this game, it gives anyone the opportunity to explore there own creative abilities. But would like it if EA just allowed us to gain land when we need it instead of releasing land after every major update. They could still keep the limit counter and increase it periodically.

OMG TOURISTS😎. So happy to have them back. I especially like the fact that EA has given us the option of who we choose for each country & offered 3 different timlines. 60 Donuts for 3 great, fun characters is a real bargain. Thank you EA! The accompanying dialogue did make me laugh but EA….basta così!

Which jobs do the Tourists have? Are they all premium?
In Character Collection, what group/category are the 3 tourists in? I bought them, but don’t see them there.
They do not have a character collection, probably an oversight hopefully fixed in the future.
A few questions…
In the post it says we can send Lisa on The Eliminator to earn prizes – what prizes are these? Isn’t The Eliminator the last prize on the track?
Is the Rommelwood Barracks a unique purchase? I know the WWII tank is not, I am hoping we can also purchase multiple Rommelwood Barracks because 35 donuts is a great price.
And also I don’t have Waverly Academy. Not a question, but really weird. I got the Prep school with Greta tho.

Seems like a lot of things are just stored in the general inventory, without a category…took me a while to find mine also, since it was apparently just “generalized” when I stored it last fall.
On the tourists. Sent on Permanent Vacation, looks like only one is working at a time.
The Simpsons, for 28 years, has been a satire. They’ve always taken satirical looks at politics throughout the years (Jimmy Carter is history’s greatest monster, mayor Quimby as a Kennedy, and the entire George Bush episode). To complain about it now is to lose appreciation for what makes the show great, and to completely miss it’s purpose throughout its magical run.
Not complaining about the satire, complaining that this particular subject is getting old. It’s in your face 24/7 around here.
It’s like what one comedian I heard interviewed said: At first, it was funny, but now, people are going for the low-hanging fruit. At some point, we have to acknowledge that, while it might be amusing to make fun of the current political issue(s), you can’t keep repeating the same joke and expect people to laugh.
I used to enjoy watching the news. Now I can’t even watch anything else because of the propaganda commercials. I was sooooo looking forward to the election being over. Now it’s like Groundhog Day, only nothing can be learned each day 😂😂

Am I the only one not being able to update? I open the game, it starts downloading the update, then immediately switches to the Bart screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t help. I’m using BlueStacks so space can’t be an issue.
Maybe an androïd issue then. It worked on iOs. Or maybe it’s because BlueStacks is kinda buggy? I tried using it to play the game on my computer (on a big screen) once and it wasn’t working that well. But that was two years ago.

Note the atomic bombs are a dual type decoration. The crafted ones from Superheroes event do NOT earn bonuses. Only the donut purchased ones do. I pulled a couple of extras out of inventory to be sure but this is another case of same-look, different-effect.
Crazy plane and spruce moose also have bonus now. Pull them out of your inventory is you have them.
It may be an in-game update now, but on iOS it was an App Store update this morning, and then didn’t trigger until the afternoon.
That update hit yesterday, it was iOS and Amazon only. It was “catching up” those two OS with Android. This update actually works even if you didn’t download that update. (I know because I didn’t update my iOS (didn’t have a chance) and the update still started for me)
