Ol’ Gil is back in Springfield…he couldn’t stay away too long! This time he’s bringing us a deal of Hellish proportions…
Yes, Gil’s peddling a fun little Hellfish Bundle this time around. Fits in nicely with our military inspired items from Rommelwood. This bundle includes costumes for Grampa & Mr. Burns, as well as a couple other Hellfish items.
So let’s take a look at this deal, what’s involved and determine if you should spend your donuts on it…
So when you first opened up your Springfield today you would have seen some dialogue popup…
Herman: Someone broke into my shop and stole a bunch of WWII memorabilia.
Grampa: That’s why you should’ve hired WWII vets to guard your store.
Herman: I did hire you!
Grampa: Your first mistake.
At which point you’ll see Gil famously waving his arms in the air..
When tapped you’ll trigger this…
Gil: Ol’ Gil’s back in town and he’s got a real deal for you: a veritable bonanza of WWII treasures – don’t ask from where. I’ll take check, cash, or a warm meal. Ok ANY meal.
At which point you’ll see the offer appear:
If you decline you’ll see:
Gil: I guess I’ll have to go sign up for war instead of just profiting from it.
And if you accept you’ll see:
Gil: Thanks, soldier! Remember, you can’t spell war profiteering without profit. Or war.
So what does this bundle include? 4 total items…
For 190 Donuts you’ll get…
Hellfish Grampa (a Premium skin for Grampa)
Hellfish Burns (a Premium skin for Burns)
Hellfish Monument (earns $500, 45xp/24hrs, 6×2 in size. Conform: Vanity +400)
Hellfish Treasure Chest (Earns nothing, 3×2 in size. Conform: Vanity +200)
So what are the pros and cons of this deal? Let’s break them down..
Pros:
-Premium skins for both Grampa and Burns (earn at Premium rates, instead of their typical regular rate)
-Hellfish Monument is animated when in use (and will be used), the monument slides back and stairs are revealed
-Hellfish Grampa and Burns have some fun outdoor animations
-The only instance of Hellfish that we’ll get in Springfield (at least for now)
Cons:
-Over priced for two skins for existing characters and 2 items
-The Treasure Chest lacks a bonus % (for now at least) and offers a fairly weak animation (crab crawls out when tapped)

Premium:
So, if you’ve really been wanting Hellfish stuff this is likely your chance to get it. It is overpriced, but the number is relative to what you want in your game. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. But I know there are bunch of you premium players who will disagree with me, because you love the combo. And that’s ok, if you’ve got the donuts to spend and love the items pick it up. But if you want my opinion, it’s overpriced.
Freemium:
Pass. This “deal” has all the red flags that we usually tell Freemium players to avoid. It’s over priced. No new characters, only skins for existing ones. No bonus % offered on items, although the one does pay out cash. And the questline is pretty short. My personal opinion for freemium players is pass. It’s overpriced and underwhelming.
Of course in the end it’s your decision. We can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And in this case I’ll likely pass. Whatever you decide just remember that this is limited time and will be leaving our games next week. So whatever you decide just make sure you do it before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Id love to have this but I hoped it was a prelude to something more. It doesn’t look that way and I’ve been burned thinking that before (I’m looking at you Duff gardens) This is why I wait for the SIB, thanks Alissa and fellow Addicts. Hopefully we’ll get our Hellfish event yet and these will be back (with a rebate!)
So, along with the St. Paddy’s coding error, my game has been periodically logging me out, since last evening. Today when I logged back in to farm, my donut count was down to 0, from 193. I’ve contacted EA, but they must ‘investigate’ the occurrence, since we are ‘talking about so many donuts’. Pretty disgruntled after a 25 minute call, especially since 15 mins was the ‘1 min wait to transfer me along’.
I would love this package, but I already have premium skins for both Burns and Grandpa (including gorilla vest) and no bonus on anything? I just can’t give EA 190 donuts for that – too greedy/ On a related note, I’m super annoyed with the whole Gil deal thing. He only shows up so rarely and with very few exceptions, his deals are a total screw you. I remember when seeing Gil was a good thing – like a donut sale. Come on EA – make us excited to see Gil again, because it means a great deal on something worth having!

No. It is overpriced, but that’s not my main problem. For a long time, I and other players have been openly saying how we wanted a Hellfish event. This is what we get in its place?
No. Just, no.
EA is depending on us more and more to buy stuff with donuts. I’d love to have the Hellfish items, but we should have the chance to get premium items with cash earned in the game. This game is not the only game supported by EA, and they are trying to get us to pay for everything, while they have a whole lot coming in from many other sources. Please give us a break EA. There are a lot of us who can’t afford donuts all the time. I have a whole heap of cash just sitting there gathering dust, and I don’t know what to spend it on.
come to the dark side and transform you cash into donuts with KEM farm. (search this great site to know more). But beware that life is not the same after you start farming….

Start small and expand from there. You can KEM farm for dirt cheap by using a small plot, and build up as you go. Set up a cash farm somewhere, too; despite the rising cost of houses, it still pays off over time.

It takes a little effort and time, but KEM farming together with mystery Box purchases is a a great way to increase Bonus percent which in turn increases cash. I went form earning about 2-3 Bonuts per day to 30-50 on my C game and 200 on my A game in 3 months. I have almost double my percentage bonus while buying all the new items in my A game, and many items in my B and C games. (I just caught up on the St. Patrick’s Day items on my A and B games.)
I fear the KEM farming process lol
But like the player above I have a heap of cash with nothing to spend on and running pretty low on doughnuts 😐
It seems really complicated to learn…
KEM farming is very EAsy:
1) Have a free arEA
2) Have about one million of game cash (more is even better)
3) Have a decent bonus.
5) Place all your Springfield Height buildings for the hidden XP bonus
6)Have 25 donuts.
7) Seed the XP Collider with those donuts.
8) Buy KEMs.
9) After four hours click the finished KEMs to harvest XP and donuts🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
10) Sell the KEMs and buy new ones
11) Repeat this until the XPCollider runs out.
(Ribs and repeat)

If you do the buy/sell rat trap trucks, be sure to keep an eye on your in-game cash. I dropped mine too low when I was first experimenting with it 😊
If you’re in-game cash rich, buy then sell some rat trap trucks. When you level up, you’ll get more donuts 😊
Thanks for the post! Agreed, really pricey for what we get, so this freemium will be passing. It’s rare that I’ll go for a Burn’s skin because nothing will match up to his Gorilla Vest earning power.
(PS, I wish more characters had “super premium” like that. Like, say, when we grew Lisa’s tree; she should have gotten a super premium skin just like we did when we finished Burn’s money pile.)
Since I already have premium skins for both of those characters (and I’m not that into the whole military thing), this is a pass for me. But, for a Gil’s Deal, it’s less overpriced than some of those (although still overpriced…150 would have been more in the ballpark of reasonable).
It’s funny…even though I have a decent number of donuts saved up to spend, I still prefer to only buy stuff that I actually want, rather than just getting stuff because I can. If it doesn’t bring me joy or help my game, and/or it doesn’t fit in with my Springfield’s “aesthetic,” then I still pass on it.
Well I bought it. It is overpriced but it’s one of my favorite episodes and I couldn’t resist.
One dissapointment with the treasure chest is you can’t place it in the beach. It’s supposed to look half buried and even has a sand colered border around it.
I also was hoping the Hellfish monument would project a beam of light out to mark the spot.
I still am happy with it though.
I have placed the chest on the land side of the beach. Further to sea isn’t possible as you have noticed.
Your right. I tried moving it again and realized I can place it halfway down the beach. It looks good now.
Outrageous. A couple skins (that in a couple weeks I probably won’t use again), a monument, and a treasure chest? For 190 donuts? Sometimes I just can’t help but be amazed at what EA believes these items will sell for. This is one of those “3 people will buy for 190” but “6 will buy for 125” items. EA will make more money lowering the donut price tag….
I think they price it high so that, after getting some folks to purchase it art that price, down the road, they can offer it (or some version of it) at a discount to get even more people to buy it.
Yet another skin for Burns…oh goodie😴…and a skin for Abe…goodie again😴…and more vanity “stuff” with no xp%…how will I ever control my joy😴…and I get it all for almost 200 donuts? 🙀Nope…👎
OT – anyone know if Brandine’s 90 day task will end up with a blue “Free” button like some non-quest characters do near the end of their task? If so I think you save a number of days!

I think there’s an absolute minimum for that; it’s supposed to go “free” when 90% of the time has been used up, but for REALLY long tasks, it uses that minimum instead. At least, that’s what it’s done when I had long tasks where 10% of the time left was still a big chunk of time, and it didn’t switch to “free” until there were a couple of hours left, so it was more like 1% or whatever.
It is the lower of 10% of the time or 2 hours. So a 1-hr task can be rushed with 6 mins left and a 20-hr (or longer) task can be rushed with 2 hrs left. It works nicely for syncing up characters with different task lengths or preventing time-lag if you log in on a schedule. For Brandine’s 90-day task it’s pretty useless though.
I don’t have a 90 task for Brandine, I’m going to have to check her questline to see what I missed.

My family always used the CRS version relayed to Chinese food when I was growing up. It refers to the sensation you get in your head (usually around the temple area) from a heavy dose of MSG, which was a popular ingredient used by Chinese restaurants years ago. While I’m sure it’s still in use in some places, a lot of restaurants started advertising that their food had no msg in it, because a lot of people started requesting it that way. (At least, this is the revolting that occurred in NYC, where I lived as a kid.) It’s very rare that I get CRS from Chinese food anymore, so I do think it’s used less, or in lower doses.
(For anyone who didn’t already know this, MSG (monosodium glutamate) is a flavor enhancer. If you remember those little canisters of Accent Flavor Enhancer that you could sprinkle on your food (usually meat), that was (actually, still is….apparently it’s still for sale) MSG.)
I didn’t know they actually named a syndrome for it, but I am very sensitive to MSG 😂😂
I’ve had a female colleague who blushes easily and prone to MSG. She could turn purple the two combined.

Waaay over priced, no new character(s), the decorations are a bit underwhelming, and with Burn’s super premium skin who needs to buy him any more premium skins. Did I buy this? Oh yeah! It’s the Hellfish! Besides, Grandpa looks awesome in his Hellfish skin, had to have that.

Talk about meh. I love the episode and was hoping for more but when I thought about what they could offer that I want and there really isn’t anything.
Good episodes don’t always make for good gaming items.
I was really hoping EA would give us a Flying Hellfish event… something as epic as the Stonecutters one. The character interactions, the atmosphere, the history, the ending… everything about the Flying Hellfish episode was perfect.
You are right, this really should have been a event or at the very least a mini event.

In my opinion, the Hellfish Club should have been the mini event, and Rommelwood & The Eliminator should have been the Gil deal. Woukd have been way more interesting that way.

Thank you Alissa!!! I am still on the fence, I’ll probably wait until the last few days before deciding. If the chest had a bonus %, it would have been a buy. If the Monument didn’t pay out, it would definitely been a no. The skins?? Meh, Burns is usually in his moneymaking skin, & Abe in his Toreador one. 190 donuts is very steep for what is basically a building to me. I’m still wanting more from the military school, so it will depend on my donut surplus going into next week. Isn’t Easter coming?…
I was hoping for more from the deal, the monument is cool but for 190 donuts really pricey. Burns already has a lot of cool skins so not worth it there. I have the donuts, or at least I will after one more Where’s Maggie round, but I think I’m better off building a stockpile for the next event

I would love to have something representing the Hellfish episode, but I really don’t need more premium skins, especially for Mr. Burns. I was hoping the items would be offered in a prize track, not as a Gil deal. Oh, well. I’m afraid I have to pass on this one.

Disappointed at the fact that EA is FINALLY offering the Hellfish items for Grandpa and Burns. Thought that EA would do something like this for Veteran’s day years ago. Several characters in the show/game have a military past and it would be a fitting mini-event for Veteran’s day when we remember those who have served so that we can have our freedom.
Definite pass. I already have 2 premium skins for Abe and a few for Burns, including the super premium gorilla vest. The rest hardly seems worth it.
I was hoping for some special items regarding the hellfish episode, but I’m disappointed with this deal, and other than the skin for grandpa (because burns has already to many that pay well) there is nothing special on this deal, will be passing on this one, way expensive, but hopefully EA brings in the future more hellfish stuff, great episode
