Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
I couldn’t help but notice yesterday when Superheroes 3 hit many of you expressed disappointment that it wasn’t a major event. You were expecting EA’s usual format..big event, mini event, big event…and it didn’t happen this time around. Instead we got an “old school” update. Some new dialogue and a bunch of items in the store.
For those of you confused as to why EA’s not following their traditional format (Big event, mini event, big event)…I talked about this in the comments earlier this week, let’s do a little forecasting and speculation (really any excuse to bust out my crystal ball..)…
I truly believe the timing of everything comes down the annual THOH Halloween Event.
We all know there will be a Halloween Event coming in the fall. There’s always a Halloween Event, and no reason for them to stop now. Halloween is a BIG deal in The Simpsons. In fact Season 29 is slated to start with the THOH episode being it’s Season Premiere. Sorry, guys I was going off old info, THOH won’t be the premiere, but it’ll air later in Oct. So we know Halloween is coming.
We also know that major events run from 4-6 weeks & mini events for approx 2 weeks. If we had a major event hit now it would end somewhere between August 15th and 29th. Let’s assume, for arguments sake it would be 6 weeks and ends August 29th. That would be followed by a 2 week mini event, which would end right around September 12th-13th…that’s WAY to early to launch a Halloween Event. They would need some kind of filler to buy them at least another 2 weeks before they can launch Halloween…or a precursor to Halloween. And Season 29 doesn’t start until October 1st, so that’s even to early to see and Episode Tie-in.
So here’s what I think…this is their filler to buy them that week and a half they needed.
So what does it mean? Well my speculation…
We’ll likely see a BIG Event on August 1st, which will probably run until at least September 5th, maybe even the 12th. Let’s assume the 12th. We’d get a mini event on September 13th, that will last until the 26th. Which will be followed by an Episode Tie-In for the Season Premiere (we always get one for the premiere) on the 27th, this tie-in will serve as a precursor to the THOH 2017 Event. And Halloween will likely Launch on October 3rd…and probably run until November 7th, maybe the 14th. (which will be followed by Thanksgiving for 2 weeks and then Christmas event).
And that will round out your 2017 in TSTO…
Hopefully this analysis helps calm the frustration of some/many of you with this little update hitting. Enjoy the downtime. Redesign your Springfield. Reconnect with your family. Catch up on some sleep, before the 4hr cycle catches up with all of us once again!

I’m glad this is an old-school event – I’m a bit bored of Super Heroes… A third big event based on them would be a bit too much right now. This little update is perfect for it!

Thank you. I am taking a break from TSTO, the time travel event burned me out, so I am happy to stay away completely for a few weeks. Done this before and usually come back quite motivated.

I would love to see a THOH take off on GOT…complete with dragons.

I was going to write the same thing! After all, we had a Game of Thrones-inspired opening credits/couch gag once.
It would be a great crossover promotion. Even the San Francisco Giants are having a Game of Thrones theme tonight (with a GoT-inspired bobblehead).
Game of Thrones is way overrated. It started ok, but it’s just getting weirder and more boring with every season. If there is no one left to identify with/root for, I just don’t care anymore what happens next. Stopped watching after 4 I think, with 5 lying unwatched on my DVD shelf.
Agree to disagree. The show continues to shock me, and as long as one of my favourite actors and his character continues to live, I have someone to root for.
Speaking of that actor, you have to see the British version of Death at a Funeral. Peter Dinklage was also in the Hollywood version, but that version is no where near as good as the British version.
I agree, season 4 was the worst…but season 5 is much better and kinda gets back to the real deal. Less wierd stuff with Cersie and Arya (she is back in Westeros)..more “King of the North”, the
Wall, and storylines with the Starks (Sansa has stopped being such a victim and theres even some back story of Hodor). Take a chance, I think it will bring you back in.
If you ask me these mini events are the best,the big events are just to prolonged and get reely boring at the end plus thay are scraping the bottom of the barrel,i mean how many piramids can springfield take before it starts to look like an amusement park.EA should keep up with these mini events and maybe do 3 big ones a year.Side question,im noticing that the dig site is awarding me homer barbarian statues and that they should be in my inventory yet they are not,I realize thats a unique item but why does it keep saying that is awarded,it really p…..ss me off 🙂

I recently got back into the game after taking a hiatus so for the few weeks I’ve been back I’m just sitting this one out collecting my donuts because I was feeling a big Event coming soon. Although Radioactive Man is grabbing my attention I’m saving up my donuts to the best of my ability. Looking forward to what the event could be, I would love some form of Western Event as I missed the original one. Anyone looking forward to whats next!

At first I was a little annoyed…but you are right. This gives us a little downtime to redesign, do some KEM farming, or just take a break from the 4-hr schedule.
My B town is a mess, so I’m definitely doing a redesign there. May even do a full nuke just to start from scratch 😀
If you nuke your B-Springfield, you will be able to take stock of the items you have

Kudos! You are braver than me! I have been thinking about nuking my town, but after a test run in my B game I chickened out. Takes for ever to get things running again.
We get A Lot of game for as much or as little as we want to spend, so I’m not going to grouse about some downtime with a little questline (and some old stuff to perhaps splash out on) before another, presumably, six week main event. If I don’t like all or part of what comes next I’ll do what I’ve done previously; pretty up my town instead or build up cash reserves for the new Cecil tasks.
In the meantime, I’m spending the day at work speaking only in Simpsons quotes and wondering if anyone will notice.

Personally, I love these “old-school” content updates, and would love to see return to these, rather than massive month-long three-part quests. I’ve been playing since late 2012, back when the game was relaunched, and miss the days of random, small, level-up updates that you could do it at your own pace.

I received my shirt the other day and have been rocking it out at da beach. And yes it is winter here but it was 26 degrees Celsius the other day. I will admit i probably won’t another. When it is $20 postage the shirt was nearly $50. A bit expensive for the quality. I wish i could just donate $10 to yas. I hate paying for postage.

Also i wasn’t very happy with da print quality too. I think it will peel very quickly. Check another company like redbubble. I have used them in the past and my shirts lasted for ages. And no i don’t work for them or at anyway am affilated with them

I agree i been wearing Tee-Shirt even tho winter lol but quality I’m shocked at mine has hole in already :'( very thin material and print is bit under quality i dont expect print to last very long 🙁 Im not willing to post back then have another postage ontop its sad coz it is good logo saying :/ i wouldn’t get another, im glad i didnt get 2 which i was going to but financially couldn’t at the time :/

This is a nice small break, and a good excuse to break out some old content (that I will NOT be buying)

Also a random thought 💭 the “gay pride mini-event” has me very very worried for future mini-events.
I’ve never seen a mini-event lean so heavily on premium characters. Good thing I didn’t care about the outcome. I only had 2-3 income earners the entire event.
Yes I finished it up without much difficulty but really EA ? 60%-70% of the income earners was premium content !
Redesign your Springfield? After EA made it near impossible to find your stored items without endless scrolling through an inventory where the rules of alphabetical order do not apply? And then takes you back to the start of your inventory each time you do happen to stumble upon what you were looking for? Ha! Not bloody likely!
You are SO right! I did nuke an experimental Level 42 Springfield. It took me the whole evening and a good part of the night to put everything into the desired place. No more 💣

Honestly I don’t mind having a bit of “down time” (mini events and even no events). Gives time to arrange town, relax, etc. Plus, looking forward to Halloween makes it all worthwhile 😄.

I was quite happy with this. Got a couple of things for cheap that I missed out on.
A brand new character that I’ve wanted to see in the game for ages and I’ve got a couple of weeks to finally finish some bits of my town.

That’s what I’m doing. I came to check because I couldn’t recall how to make more crosswalks and saw this post. I’ve wanted to not fully redesign my town, but tinker at the edges for awhile. This break gives me that opportunity. The major 6 week events tire me out by the end so this is a nice rest.
