Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Sungazer Bus & Freddy Freeman/Shredder Stevens to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Rock -n- Roll combo to your town…

-Each character only has 4 tasks, they’re both missing the 4hr task (which may change when the event ends, but for now they’re missing it)
-Only 1 visual task each
Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
It’s a good value for this combo. 150 donuts gets you TWO premium characters and a 1% bonus earning decoration. If you figure a 1% bonus item should be around 20 donuts, that’s 130 donuts for two characters (or 65 donuts each). That’s not a bad price. Not a steal by any means, but not a bad price. I like the combo, even if it didn’t help with the event. It’s a good value for 2 Premium Characters that will last long beyond the Homerpalooza Event in Springfield. Buy them. (of course assuming you have the donuts & you want them)
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I already got it. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before they leaves our games for good (or for now).

I couldn’t pass them up! Even though I have no idea who they are I need all the help I can get with this event! The bus looks pretty awesome parked by the stage though! I was seriously hoping for Keith Richards and Mick Jagger! A girl can dream right!?
Will they jam in the nect acts?
Once the event is over, they’ll probably be rocking the stage, but they’ll have to do it without Rockstar Maggie, because once this event is over, it’s highly likely she’ll end up in inventory, because I have nowhere that I want to put that huge Hypertheater monstrosity! (That’s a big reason why I didn’t get her during her original event.)
The idea of storing a premium character kills me, though. I really wish I could decouple her from her building (maybe attach her to the rock stage, instead)…I’d even be willing to spend donuts to do that!
I think it is fun and interesting how each of us have different ways of doing our towns, the Hyperstadium is one of my favorite buildings in my town, especially when Maggie is rocking it with all the lights on. So each to their own, fun that we each are different.
As for the Sungazer got it right away, like the bus as much as the characters.
Absolutely! If all of our towns were the same, how boring that would be.
I probably would like it better if it weren’t so freaking massive! Also, I’ve long since enclosed my future world section of town with other stuff, so, there isn’t a great spot for it anymore. I do have one idea (in the general area I’ve parked it in), but I don’t know that it will really work out. It’s too out of scale to put it together with the mainstream main stage, too (just as Woodstock is too out of scale the other direction to put it together with the main stage). I just wish the designers would pick a scale and stick to it. *sigh*
Yes it would be nice if things were in the same scale, good luck with your design. I am one to want to keep my town in synch and looks like the areas go together.
I built a platform for it in a corner of the ocean. It’s out there, but it’s out of the way.
I built it into my nuclear power plant… all the mad building stuff fits in there if plonked correctly 😀

Not to me. I bought it thinking it might do something other than just dance when clicked. So far that’s all it does.
I don’t have it, but I did try to tap it in a neighbor’s town and it did nothing but make some noise. If is just a NPC it is a poor one then.
I agree…for some reason I thought it would hang out and rock at the stage…nope. Just wanders around like a regular NPC. If I had it to do over again, I would pass.
I’m passing on them. Yeah they seem like theyd be a big help with the event, but in my opinion not really memorable characters and I wouldn’t really care if I don’t have them in my springfield after the event ends. Especially when some much better ones look to be coming up soon.

That was my thought on them, but I sorta liked the look of the Freddy guy and also I could use their help with the event. Plus seeing as how we are already “forced” into getting two other members of the band as prizes I figured why not just get the other guys to complete the set. This is why I ended up with them.
Those are pretty good points. I might have to do some math to see what my donut stockpile will allow for the whole event. 3 other characters that look to be coming are going to be musts ahead of these guys
ok, so this doesnt help with the event? Its says in the store, “plays jam sessions”. What does that mean, then? Still trying to decide to buy or not. Its a great deal, just ironing out the deets…
They do play Jam Sessions in Act 1.
Yeah, I was a little confused at first too. Alissa was meaning, even IF they didn’t help with the event, she’d still get them… But they DO help with the event, so BONUS!

will these guys return towards the end of the event? I had enough donuts, but lurleen appeared in my vault, so I purchased her instead. I’m KEM farming earning about 10 donuts per day so I should be able to gather enough donuts before the event ends , but not before act 1 ends.
Yup. All the premium characters that get released during this event (and don’t last the whole thing like BGM) will return around the final week. 🙂
EA has been pretty inconsistent about bringing things back at the end of the events…so, nobody knows. 🤷♀️
according to the wiki, they will return during the “last chance” period, from 9/5-9/12.
Also wish we knew for sure that all categories (the little musicians icons with rock, pop, rap) would be able to play after act 1 is over…
I could see them potentially being able to play the stage associated with each act even after the act is over… or not at all, making this purchase more time sensitive and less sensible.
Please, EA, if you’re listening, give me a sign…

I don’t have Rockstar Maggie. When I set my characters to “jam”, I have a slot that says “get her now”. But she’s in the mystery box! Will I get her? (She’s the only thing I want). Or is it a toss up?

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a sure way of getting her. I wanted her as well, but the “get her now” lure resulted in a Saxophone Lisa skin instead when I tried. I wish there was a way to bur Rockstar Maggie directly instead of having to deal with the Mystery Box.
These days, “not voiced” is a pro for me 😛 I’ve been playing the game on mute for quite some time now because so many characters talk over one another. It can get quite annoying… Thus, I much prefer for the iconic/classic characters to be voiced only.

I bought them and BGM and everything in the mystery box. And now I also have a lovely Car Impound Lot in my town to show for it. Yikes!

You can always send them on a 4 hour “flight” via the Springfield Airport. It pays a premium rate for premium characters.

IIRC, there are charts in that post that help you figure out how many KEMs you need per percentage level to earn XYZ donuts. HTH!
btw, I believe there’s also info on how many you get with both the XP Collider on & off. I recommend on, obviously. 😄
I bought it right away as I thought it looked like a decent deal too & it appealed to me. I like to buy at least 1 premium item from each event so long something appeals to me. I remember with one of the last event nothing caught my fancy so I didn’t buy anything (I think it was the last main event)
I don’t remember these characters from the show, so I don’t feel a real need for them in my town for that reason. If they had better visual task options, that would probably sell me. If I was struggling with the event, that might also sell me. As is, though, feeling pretty ‘meh’ about this combo. I also find vehicle decorations kind of a pain to place in general. Probably a pass for me.

You have your Simpson house, Moe’s, Kwik-e-mart, & rock stage all in one place with the traffic lights that I recognised from the wild-west event, which were on green….so I left you about seven lawyers.

I’d forgotten about the traffic light signals. I put my transporters next to my 4 venues, can neighbors use them too? I think I’ve used them in neighbors towns. I’ve also utilized the tapping Weird Al in neighbors towns if I spot him.

Also ….apart from the transporters …the police tank, and monorail board will help neighbours move around your town if placed near the landing spot

Not enough donuts after getting Bleeding Gums Murphy. Seems like a decent get, but not worth the extra real cash. Ever since a game I spent a lot of money on recently stopped service, I have been thinking about being even more selective about purchases in TSTO. If I had the free donuts, I would buy this pair.
I wasn´t sure wether to pick BGM or them. In one hand, they would help a lot more with the event. In the other, BGM is just legendary.
I ended up buying BGM because these guys I dont feel are memorable enough. However, anyone who buys the bus will be able to have the full Sunglazer band if they complete Act 1, which is cool I guess. BGM was too strong for me though
Can I assume that Shredder Stevens also can play jam sessions for the event? I only see Freddie listed with a “Get Now” in the choose musicians window. Can Freddie and Shredder play on separate stages, or are they linked together like Sherri and Terri?

Anyone finding it hard to tap festival people in friends towns , I mean they just blend right in and are spaced out ( no pun intended ) it takes a good while to tap just three of them
If there is any other character nearby including NPCs, they’re untappable. It’s a pain.
It’s not impossible. Just tap below the character rather than on it.
Bought this combo immediately when the event started! Two chars combo, yaay!
It would be nice if they could do jam sessions after the event ends. That could be their 4h job and be visual. (Most characters seem to get two visual tasks these days.) But, with EA, you never know. Might not ever have that 4h job.
