So I’m a total music freak so that’s a big part of my love for his event. Depending on how the animations work after the event, Lisa and Bleeding Gums may be forever jazzing it up together on stage in my town.
So Patric was inquiring about people’s interest in music and I love the responses. I’ve checked out some of the replies of stuff I’ve never heard and most of it was really cool. So I’d like to see if there could be more options of new music. The idea is to set your music player to random and list the first 10. No skipping no matter how embarrassing. Rap is NOT music. It is art, it is poetry, “word rhythm”, but not “music”
Besides, the Monkees did a track called “Zilch” with word rhythms back in ~1968(?)
My friend and I get into this discussion all the time. There is a fine line between hip hop and rap. Hip hop is music, rap isn’t. We’re going by the basic definition of music having melody, harmony and rhythm. Although hip hop relied heavily on sampling there were often live instruments to accommodate it. The vocals are more sing songy. Tribe Called Quest is a perfect example. Their album Low End Theory is mostly obscure jazz samples and very melodic. Then you have rap. No melody. Definitely no harmony. The lyrics are just barked on top of a simple rhythm. Definitely not music.

LOL I have all The Simpsons albums in my playlist so I get it. Plus I have a bunch of just clips from the show. I nearly always listen to my music on random so every once and a while there’s like 2 minutes of Simpson dialog.
Also a huge shout out to Alf Clausson who arranged Trash Of the Titans and many others who was unceremoniously fired from The Simpsons. I fear this may be the beginning of the end.

There is a lot of “local” talent there, I doubt that many of the german artists made it to the US. Maybe a bit of explanation for them:
Le Bang Bang is minimalist jazz, just a female singer and an upright bass, I love it. Lisa Wahlandt & Mulo Francel do mostly jazz with latin rhythms, great for dancing.
Hopelezz and Sodom are German thrash metal bands, Annett Louisan does french style chanson but in german, and strays into pop. Rocky Lewis is hard rock, bordering on metal, Samy Deluxe is a german rapper, and Die Fantastischen Vier is a hip-hop band.
Nice post, sonicboinyc – I always have my iPod set on “random” (except if I’ve loaded a new album or something) and it’s like listening to the best radio station on the planet – all killer, no filler (well, to my ears, anyway). I have multiple playlists in multiple genres, but for the sake of transparency I’ll open my entire library and list the first 10 tracks at random:

Yeah I deleted Padora years ago. On my cloud I have 40,118 songs. Pandora can’t touch my variety. I love bouncing around an open playlist. From The Swans follwed by The Carpenters then Motley Crue followed by something from The Mary Poppins soundtrack.
Friends give me crap I don’t look for new artists anymore but for years. i bought music faster than I could listen to it. I just visited my parents and there were boxes with nearly 1000 some CD’s then all my vinyl. I was astounded going through it. Nearly 1/3 of it was stuff I bought before I moved and never got around to listening to and it’s been sitting there for 13 years. I had my laptop so I uploaded as much as I could. Will have to continue next trip. Hardly even touched my bootleg collection. There’s another couple of thousand discs.

I was planning on it. Actually I tried it on an open thread about a year ago when I started doing it on Facebook and not one response. So it’s great seeing everybody’s responses. Patric asked how we find new music. We’ll find it on each other. Great community. I figured since I do 25 or 50 every Sunday on Facebook I’ll just post it here too.
I feel like I have everything for this event, but I am ALWAYS 1 character short of filling my venues. Anyone able to completely fill them? How???
If you try following the algorithm for premium players below, you will hopefully figure out who you are missing:
Start with:
Simpsons House (Rock only) = use Rock only characters Homer and Rev. Lovejoy
Springfield Elementary (Pop only) = use Pop only characters Ralph and Nelson
Krusty Burger (Hip Hop only) = use Hip Hop only characters Krusty and Alcaatraaz
Now unlike freemium players who should do the multi-purpose Moes and KEM venues next and save main stages for last; premium players should go to the main stages next:
Rock Stage = Rock only Sungazers Peter, Nick, Freddy, Shredder
Pop Stage = Pop only Alaska and Leon, Pop and Rock only Rockstar Maggie, Pop and Hip Hop only Maggie
Hip Hop Stage = Rock and Hip Hop only Apu and Dr. Hibbert, Pop and Hip Hop only Bart and Milhouse
This leaves you with 2 spots each at Moes and KEM and 4 characters left: the universal Lisa, the universal Bleeding Gums Murphy, the universal Weird Al, and Rock only Rockin Otto.
If either Moes or KEM are Rock, put Rockin Otto there, and the other three can go anywhere.
If neither Moes or KEM are Rock, you can fill three of the four slots with the other three, but one slot will sit empty and Rockin Otto will be chillin, not jammin.

Aargh, I don’t have Leon or Rock Star Maggie. I wish EA had made it possible to buy her directly. As mentioned in another thread, I made one try at that mystery box and got the Barney blimp. The only thing worse for me would have been the costume for Sideshow Bob. My Sideshow Bob is only allowed to serve his life sentence, four hours at a time. Jerk. I told a friend of mine, if I had the costume, I’d want to be able to sell it to Cecil for $40B. Anyway, so I only have 20 jam-playing characters. I wish the game had made more of our regular characters available for jams….
Shouldn’t complain, though. I’ve got all the prizes except for the Manager Cletus Bundle, and I’ve got 80/200 toward Al’s last prize. By the time he can play hip-hop, I don’t think I’ll care.
Start with filling venues with characters that go only into that venue. Then fill venues with the least number of characters available. If you have 6/9 hip-hop characters available and six slots to fill, fill those first.
Cletus’s skin is hilarious. I might just keep him in it full time😂. The truck is bigger than I expected, but cool. I’ve really enjoyed this event. Now, I’m going to knuckle down and finish Cecil’s money draining quests. Just one remaining…..Happy ☀️day everyone……💜X

Anyone accidentally sell off characters while KEM farming? Is that even possible?
No, you can’t sell characters. You can have them tucked into inventory though.
Phew, sometimes when I sell my KEM there’s a warning saying you are going to sell X# of buildings and 0 characters. Sometimes I wonder if I had a character near the area and if I accidentally sold one.
Characters can’t be selected by the area select tool. As long as you don’t accidentally select a free building with an associated character, you won’t sell off any characters this way. (Premiums cannot be sold, so no worries there.)
I accidentally sold the Van Houten house in Act I and lost Milhouse until I rebuilt it. Fortunately, he wasn’t being used in the event at the time!
I surround my farm with things that can’t be sold, like Lard Lads, so I don’t group sell-able items with the KEMs.
When do you start winning bonuts in act three? I got rapping Bart earlier today, finished three of his missions, but still no prompt for the bonuts!

I am not a big fan of the time of year. I have to close up the pool for the winter! 🙁
lol I literally just took the pool cover off mine today, after having it sit idle for the past 6 months during Autumn and Winter. It’s green and horrible, so I have a month or so to get it sparkling again before the warmer weather ramps up. It’s still frosty each day in the low 20’s (Celsius that is), so I have some time until the weather is warmer… around 25-35 C is perfect weather. It’ll probably be hot around Christmas, so it definitely needs to be running by then!
Question for Safi. What’s your conformometer percent? New Characters are more fun than another Channel 6 van, so my KEM farming is slowly getting stronger.
I’ve been stuck at around 850% for over a month now. Really slowed down after I hit 750% about 6 months ago.
“Stuck” or “Content” at around 850%? I am at 700% and now thinking I am around the sweet spot for getting what I want but still leaving game play necessary, but with lesser time spent. Perhaps my future of reaching the games item limitations is a factor, as well as wanting to leave some form of “working for it” in the game is my awarded level of comfort where I am now, and not feeling the need to bump up any further. It will be different for everybody, but I can`t help but wonder where the “sweet Spot” is for this game.
Well rather than spending donuts on Mystery Boxes to go even higher, I’ve been getting a lot of the premium content I missed out on the first few years. I got Arnie Pye, Stacey Lovell, Bleeding Gums, Leon K, Julio and Grady, etc, etc.
So I would say I’m content with my percentage levelling off and getting more content I previously missed out on.
Are the two skins in the prizes for act 3 premium? I feel confident I’ll get both.

It’s nostalgia TV – when I was a child, our family watched TV together, too, and with only 3 channels to choose from, there wasn’t that much variation. Some of the stuff was plain awful, but every now and then I still find myself tuning in, just because it takes me back. Feels like my Dad is still here when I watch Star Trek (Original) re-runs.

You need 146k to unlock Cletus. You are over 2 days ahead of schedule to unlock Cletus. Just keep doing what you’ve been doing.

Bonuts start after “Straight Outta Dumbton Pt. 6”. You can unlock bonuts before Cletus. I unlocked Rappin Bart on Thursday, unlocked bonuts Friday, got my first set of bonuts yesterday, second set of bonuts this morning, and should unlock Cletus this afternoon.

So for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere Spring has sprung! Which means I had to stop being lazy and get stuck into the garden. Sort of… Didn’t want to overdo it so I started off gently 😊 Been doing some pruning (better a little late then never!) and sorting out pots which needed some more/fresh soil. Didn’t realise just how many pots plants I have so I’ve only made a little dent in it but it’s a start! I also managed to get a tree aloe into a pot so it can start making roots and soon it will look gorgeous!
So nice to see the trees starting to bud – looking forward to the arrival of the new leaves because they are always such a beautiful shade of green! Some of my clivia’s are starting to flower as well as some of the arum lilies (calla lilies to some of you). And best of all the jasmine is flowering so the garden smells fantastic 😃
On the TSTO front all is proceeding according to plan. Heading for the last prize and almost finished the quest line – which I forgot about for a little while 😊😊😊 Next step is to try and integrate all the new stuff into my SF. It will be a challenge as I know where I led like it to go but getting it to fit without having to rearrange everything will be tricky… And to have it done (or at least some of it…) by the Showoff… No pressure! 😄

Really like your flowers! My “garden” was a non-starter this year, since our landlord took almost all spring/summer to renovate the balconies, which made them unusable for most of the time. Had to uninstall my flowerboxes, so all that’s left are a few pots inside the apartment. Now the balcony is done, but autumn is almost upon us, so not much point to start up again this year. Just as well, I am not half as good at gardening as my dad was, even though he tried to teach me. And there is a difference between managing a big garden and trying to keep a few plants in flowerboxes alive – I am sure I am only bad at the latter… 😉
Maybe I could start a garden in my TSTO Springfield… Not a lot of variety flower-wise, but with all the trees and plants that have been added over the years… hmmm. At least there is no chance of those plants dying on me. 🙂

I didn’t want my characters worrying about me while I was away, so I stored them. It puts them in suspended animation. Lol. It’s gonna be a job putting it all back, but hopefully it will give me a chance to re-design areas that I was unhappy with.
