We’re nearing the finish line for Homerpalooza, just a couple more days (it ends Tuesday) to finish it all up…and then the next big thing hits! Or a few smaller things…

Well, despite my boredom and lack of consistent playing, I unlocked the last prize today. I should probably farm some cash and donuts, but I’m more inclined to log off for now and hope the next event is more interesting.
So had a little bit to much to drink last night… ended up buying 7 whales from my volt at 225 dounts each… at least my bouns % went up… now to just explain the big iTunes bill to the wife.

OK, am I the only one who was terrible at this event this time?? For the 1st time, I just could not figure out how to get those stars, I did everything, read everything about using stages, tried y’alls strategy’s and I still got half my people with not full stars, oh well,
This event was a big fat yawn for me, meh prizes, not interested in playing game to get bunch stuff I didn’t want, over a 1000 lawyers I’m not interested in dropping off, wish they would make it to where we could give other players stuff we don’t want. And just to much of repeatedly doing same thing over and over, the only thing I did get was 25 floating pigs I will figure out what to do with, other then that meh, yawn, snooze,
I hope EA does something to the game to make players excited about want to play it again.

FMURDOG2- Didn’t you have any neighbours who would have benefited from having some lawyers? Some of the events haven’t always rocked my boat, but I always try to help my neighbours out. ‘Altruism’….you should try it sometime…..💜X
No need to be rude Ella. I had neighbours who never dropped lawyers and I didn’t mind at all. I didn’t drop them any unless I had spares, but I didn’t mind them not using them – it was a pretty frustrating system honestly. Having to click into a neighbourhood to see if I could drop lawyers and then having to load another neighbourhood because they were free? ugh.
Has anyone noticed that Leon Kompowsky’s 4 hour task to spread joy is basically just him walking around town? Is this a glitch? Should he be doing something? Or is that it?
DW- Yes I noticed it. I wondered if EA was having a laugh/dig because we kept saying how much we wanted him in our games, they’ve given him to us and he’s spreading joy by just being 😂……..whatever the reason it’s as lame as…..💜X

Tough call. I think for consistency over a 16 week span, it should be Peyton at his prime. However, my bias would have me choose Eli for his two Super Bowl performances.

Well as the Chargers aren’t in San Diego anymore…grumble, grumble, stupid Spanos…good for the city for not caving though….grumble, grumble, still breaks my heart. Speaking of breaking my heart, the Redskins have been doing that for years. Sigh.
Favorite current player, tough call. There are a lot of players I enjoy watching, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Sam Bradford, and it pains me to say this but Dak Prescott. But favorite players of all time is a tie between Junior Seau, Art Monk and Darrell Green.
If a Redskins fan can admit to liking a Cowboy, I suppose I can admit my secret shame. I’m a fan of Aaron Rodgers. I hate what he does to my team, he’s just so good.

I was saving donuts for a while and got Leon. Pretty pleased with him.
Unlocked the last prize today so now the festival is over for my Springfield.
Reached level 130 last night, I was a few XP points off then remembered Krustyland existed!
I’ve just got one person on each stage now, as I get more donuts by tasking my characters. Alaska (non premium) & Rev Love (non premium) & one other. I’m in A Whole New World with flying carpets, Jasmine & Aladdin over at DMK. So it’s great to have some TSTO downtime. I’m just visiting neighbours to offload lawyers. I don’t need any back but I’m happy to clear them to help out. I’ve really enjoyed this event but I’m glad it’s drawing to a close…..💜X

Spent Thursday driving to Florida to pick up my elderly parents from Cocoa Beach, spent all day Friday on the highway trying to get back to Savannah, spent yesterday getting them settled in our house. Now, Irma has decided to go west and will miss all of us on the East Coast. I am super thankful that she is going to miss all my friends and family…but I am pooped! At least we didn’t have to bug out here, and no potential problems with water and electricity. My prayers go out to all those in the Keys and in the Tampa/ Fort Myers area…looks like they will get the worst of it. Hunker down and stay safe.

I have enjoyed this event, especially the rock stage. It’s time to spend the craft currency. Any one have any suggestions out there? I’m leaning toward crowds and various spot lights.

My guess is a college (football) mini event. Total speculation though.
I’m looking forward to some down time from this event. I need some time to start my tasks from the new characters. I’m also looking forward to being able to tap buildings in my neighbor’s towns. I really disliked finding fans in other springfields. Most of the time I give up visiting neighbors. It too time consuming. I read there’ll be a “Futurama Addicts”. I hope that goes well but I refuse to play anything developed by TinyCo. Too bad EA didn’t get their hands on that. I learned my lesson with The Family Guy game by TinyCo. Random reward drops is bad practice in my books when playing any mobile type game.

Friend recovering from auto accident 4 months ago he s his lady drain removed this week and back brace removed the following week. Just a matter of PT and OT to get him home.
Friend with knee surgery approved for SDI and has started receiving payments. Just a matter of PT and OT to get him back to work until retirement in 6 months
Friend dealing with work “nonsense” and out with stress related illness’ will most likely pull the plug and retire this week.
By this time next week – these folks should be cruising!

Your big bass between stages looked so cool I almost bought one myself but I don’t quite have your design flair and my outskirts have gotten sloppy since I started back to school so it wouldn’t look as good. I really REALLY want to steal your brontosaurus lake above the dam idea once I get there.My national park area is just a hodge podge right now waiting for inspiration.

Hope all tappers in Florida are safe and out of harms way from Hurricane Irma – and really hope that Hurricane José stays off in the ocean!!! With Harvey, Irma, José, massive wildfires, floods in Asia, it seems as if the earth is more than just a little upset with us!!! Please stay safe, everyone.
So today’s plan was to make a start at getting all my baby lavenders into little pots. I recycle yogurt tubs for them so made holes in 12 of them all ready for new plants. And instead I cut off 3 Cordyline Australis ‘Red Sensation’ branches and put them into pots where hopefully they will root and grow. Smeared the cut ends with honey which should help root growth as well as protect them from pests… Time will tell! A lot of my trees are now putting out their new leaves which are the most beautiful shade of green – the leaves are still too small for a decent picture but maybe by next week. 😄
Going to be a late night tonight as I’m planning on watching Kevin Anderson take on Rafael Nadal in the final of the US Open (inconsiderate of you folks to be such an odd time zone! 😄). Been a long time since a South African made it to a grand slam final (1985!) so let’s hope he can go all the way… Go, Kev!!!🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
On the TSTO front all is good. Got the final prize and just collecting bonuts for now. Going to make a start on my stage area tonight but not sure I’ll have it done in time for the Showoff – best I get a move on!!! 😄

Hi MAB! Your garden must be so gorgeous! Any suggestions for plants that do well in pots in relatively hot environments? Anything planted in the ground where we now live in Hawaii is dictated by the landscape crew and the HOA. However, we can have a few potted plants in our lanai. None of the lanai gets morning sun, some of it gets early afternoon sun, a decent amount receives mid to late afternoon and early evening sun, and some of it never sees sun. However, it is general warm to hot in the daytime (70s, 80s, and, rarely, 90s) with humidity that ranges from not all that noticeable but certainly not dry (most of the year) to oppressive (last few days — I’m a wimp with humidity tho). Evenings during the winter don’t get any cooler than the high 60s. We do have a decent amount of wind most of the year, but the lanai is somewhat protected and usually receives more of a breeze than wind. Any ideas? Thanks!

Some of my suggestions may be considered invasive species where you are so proceed with caution. Also if you have children or pets you may need to check the toxicity of some of these…
Plants should help make your lanai feel much cooler!
Draceana’s – there are varieties that cope with low light to full sun. At least one is on NASA’s list of best clean air plants;
Cordyline fruticosa (variation of the pic above) – also sometimes known as the Hawaiian Ti plant so should do well there. Are also a nice variety of colours;
Bromeliads – a relative of the pineapple;
Elephant ear (allocation amazonica) and delicious monsters (monstera deliciosa) – nice big leaves for the tropical feel;
Mother-in-law’s tongue (sanseveria). Does well in very low light and is hard to kill – just don’t over-water… Also on NASA’s list of best clean air plants;
Peace lily (spathiphyllum wallisii) – pretty white flowers and it’s on NASA’s list of best clean air plants;
Ficus – there are a lot of varieties and the different versions cope with different light conditions. I’ve got some indoors (Benjamina) that get quite big even in a pot (I don’t plant them in the ground outside because some can get huge with very aggressive roots);
Palms – many varieties and sizes;
Ferns – maidenhair, tree ferns, rabbit’s foot etc. Generally need shady areas but some cope/need more light;
Calla lilies – should do well & have nice flowers 😄
Amaryllis – so many options;
Orchids – need to ask Handsome Hank for advice about these as I’m useless with them. ☺️
I usually throw myself on the mercy of my local nursery and get them to suggest indigenous plants as they often do best but a couple of exotics always adds a nice variety…

Happy Sunday all. Busy week here. Got back from a great vacation in Outer Banks, NC, got everyone all set and off to the first week of school, planning to start up my Brownies unit again for the year, and hockey sortouts have kicked off. Between all that, finished up the event, and now just to figure out what to do with these 8,000 unspent festival tickets. Will go around today dropping off lawyers to anyone who is within reach, but not at the final prize. Have a great week everyone!
