Should I Spend Donuts on the Springfield Opry House and Mary Spuckler?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s nearly Fall in Springfield and of course, that means it’s time for Fall Harvest!  Nothing says Fall Harvest quite like a good old County Fair! A nice relaxing way to slowing bring Springfield back to normal after the crazy music fest!  But of course a new event, no matter how small, means our stores are now jam-packed with premium items just tempting us to drop our sprinkles on!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Mary Spuckler and the Springfield Opry House to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this great love of Bart Simpson to your town…

Character: Mary Spuckler
Building/Decoration: Springfield Opry House
Donut Cost: 150 Donuts
Earns: $200, 22xp/8hrs
Size:
8×8
Conform-O-Meter:
Vanity +200

Leaves stores September 26th

Pros
-Opry is animated when in use, lights inside flash blue and yellow
-Mary earns Ribbons for the County Fair Event (15/3hrs)
-Mary will use the Opry House for her tasks
-Popularly requested character
-Mary comes with her own questline

Cons
-Pricey for a character/building combo, even if it is Mary Spuckler..it’s still expensive
-Not voiced (not a surprise, but still)

Final Thought
Premium:
Buy her. While not the best deal,  premium players can afford to spend the extra on Mary. She’s a classic and Bart’s greatest love,  how could you not add her to Springfield?

Freemium:
This one is a tossup.  Great character, in terms of how she was on the show,  but pricey for the combo. Of the 2 Premium characters with this event,  Mary takes highest priority to me.  So if you’re thinking about getting her,  grab her.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ve already picked her up.  Too classic not to. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games for good (or for now).  Plus Mary is a character that’ll help with the event, so the sooner you get her (if you’re planning on it) the better. So try to make your final decision before this weekend, so that she can provide the most help for this event.

Here’s a look at her tasks…

Mary Spuckler’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Serenade Wildlife 1hr $105, 26xp Outside/Visual
Play a Show 4hrs $260, 70xp Opry House
Pay Some Bills 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual
Clean Up After a Show 12hrs $600, 150xp Opry House
Work on a New Song 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Opry House

  1. Wow, really frustrating. I’ve been trying to save up donuts for Halloween and EA keeps releasing premium characters I really want. First BGM, then Leon and now Mary. I passed on the other two as much as I didn’t want to and now I might have to pass up on Mary. I just hope Halloween will be worth it.

  2. I like this mini event. Buying Mary was an easy decision.

Two characters (Carnies) I was hoping to see were Cooder voiced by Jim Varney and his son Spud. Just re-watched the episode they’re in..still holds up as one of my fav’s

    • They’re hilarious! They would have been fun in this event. But I wonder if EA has a Springfield Carnival mini/event lurking somewhere down the road and they’ll be premium characters then.

  3. I think that for freemium players, the best course of action is to not buy her, because more than likely there will be a halloween event soon, and I’m saving up for whatever (undoubtedly more interesting) characters will be available then.

  4. I’m really loving this mini fair update. The best thing about fall is enjoying the fair and this year is five years that I FINALLY get my vacation with pay.🙌🏻😌 (It feels like I’ve been working at McDonald’s for forever. lol) So I’m taking my vacation for the week on the fair. I can’t wait. 😎
Anyways…I bought Mary because out of all Bart’s love interests Mary’s the best and plus she’s one of my many, many favorite characters too.😄 Probably will buy Brandine, Jesse Grass (Maybe) and Jub-Jub too, (Whenever my vault offers him) but need to restock my donuts up haha just a bit. Thank you for all that you do for us crazy addicts. Haha. You guys are just the best~ 🤗💙

  5. I bought Brandine for 100 Donuts and the Springfield-Sign from Vault for 125 Donuts, so I already spent a lot of Donuts in the last days and will probably pass on this one .. Starting to save Donuts for Halloween takes higher priority for me at the moment

  6. It’s Mary Spuckler! ‘Nuff said. 🙂

  7. Currently farming the donuts, but I will pick her up. She is a classic character and I really like the rural theme for this mini event, so I’ll also have use for the building.

  8. Here questline has been a bit annoying so far with it having a task for Springfielders and then having 2 separate 1 hour tasks for her to perform, but I couldn’t pass her up.

  9. Freemium here, this buy was a no-brainer.

  10. Alyssa I think you used Alcatrazz description for this copy paste. Just letting you know before the haters chime in.

  11. Hello
Sorry to go off topic but….a while ago I read in the comments on this site that there is now a limit on how many doughnuts you can farm in one day, is this correct? I don’t farm often but every once in a while I spend a few hundred million of in-game cash on rat trap trucks. I turn my XP generator on for the day and make a couple of thousand doughnuts. Is this still possible? Thanks for all your help and entertainment as usual 😊

  12. Got this right away. The animation is pretty cool, and it does go on the Squidport/Springfield Height tiles (if anyone else cares cares).

  13. She’s a Spuckler. I spent nine long months getting her siblings. This was a simple acquisition.
The Opry House is adjacent to everything else related to this Event. It all goes in together. Eventually, I’ll move it to my Entertainment area, next to the Clampitheater and other such venues.
Drat though, new land costing upwards of 3.5 million. Expansion and re juggling is expensive.

And lastly smile. — mistakes show everyone that you really do care enough. For me, 5:00 am, back to sleep. I’m at 315 and just sent everyone back out. All I need is 10 more for Lisa’s skin. I guess I’ll confirm Sandra’s observation regarding no carryover.

    Zzzzzz

  14. Thanks, Alissa. I was debating about buying her because I spent my donuts on Brandine (I have been waiting for her forever!!) and didn’t want to spend real money to buy another character, especially right before Halloween and all the goodies that brings. After reading your description, I think I will splurge and add her to my Springfield. I really like country music, so I like having the Springfield Opry in my town.

  15. My only “con” is that her first quest task includes a step to send 5 Springfielders to the Opry (she and Cletus also have a step). Since she’s used to collect ribbons, that task will remain open…and now sending characters on a 4-hour task sends them all there.

But what I did notice is if characters are in a different skin, they won’t go; they’ll do whatever that skin’s task is. I feel like this didn’t happen before…or maybe I wasn’t paying attention.

  16. She’s such a classic character but I’m thinking about getting Luke instead because I love that episode!

  17. Update ran and I’m still stuck on Homerpalooza?

  18. Interesting pros & cons
(You forgot to update the section)

    Those animated tasks look fun

  19. Your final thoughts are on the character Alcatraaaz.

  20. Final thoughts and fremium belongs to another character. Bad copy paste 😉

  21. Final thoughts are for another character

  22. Uhhhhhhh. 5 stars? Voiced? Can jam? Addicts are stretched a little thin these days.

  23. Just a heads up, your Final Thoughts are for Alcatraaaz, not Mary Spuckler.

  24. Your “Final Thoughts” on Mary Spukler are in reference to the previous event. Can this be a result of splitting your time between this and the new Futurama page? 🙂

    • No. Since i barely write on futurama. This is more likely the result of me being a working MOM who had 2 jobs (if you count this site as a job) and is over tired. For some reason my original version didn’t save, and i fight triple check it before i went to bed.. cause well i was tired.

  25. Alcatraaz will not go gently into that good night

  26. It seems you might have cut and pasted the wrong description in your final thoughts

  27. Wrong Final Thought 🙂

  28. Oups! Sorry Alissa to correct you, you just mixed in Alcatraaaz in the should I buy! Just a slip up I am sure, or little Riley is distracting you!
    Thanks for your work though.

  29. You pasted the wrong Final Thought I know y’all get busy and stressed out about things but y’all are doing great keeping us informed on up to date on things and I really appreciate it
    Thanks for what you do
