Update 8:50p ET: Looks like this is fixed now…at least the not being able to progress. New update downloads and you’ll get Wizard Lisa and Bart, and that will allow you to complete the beast task…

Update: So apparently I’ve missed a few bugs…I can also tell you EA sent out a patch to Android (or something), as I just got a massive in-game download. BUT now I have the crazy zoomed out bug that was going around for other devices (I have a Galazy S8). So not quite sure what’s going on….
Some are reporting problems with iOS as well. It’s not loading. However, i currently have no issues on iOS.
So yes, apparently the bug is still there…for both iOS AND Android. It gets stuck here:
And you can’t progress. For those who don’t already know, yes it’s widespread. And yes they’re working on a patch.
Also there’s a glitch with the Magic Scratch R…don’t buy it right now.

Halloween is currently LIVE on Android, iOS and Kindle! I’m on my way out the door to pick up the Tiny Addict, but i’ll update this post more when I get home.
For now know that Lisa needs to be free for a 6s task. You’ll then need to place the Chamers Market (free) and complete 6s tasks for Springfielders and Homer. Then ANOTHER 6s task for Homer, and another for Lisa. You’ll then have to build the Magic Academy (also free) and complete ANOTHER 6s task for Homer. And then you’ll FINALLY launch the event….

I’m not going to breakdown all of the craftables here, i will do (as usual) a crafting rundown post. Most of the items are returning, and several you cannot get again if you already have 1 in Springfield.
And once again, you’ll need to level up to unlock more craftables.
Goblins/Trolls
These are the tappables in Springfield tap them and they drop 2 and 2
They spawn at a rate of 1/10 minutes. Max of 40 in Springfield. There is no bank on these.
Neighbor Actions
Neighbor Actions unlock with Angelica Button and the Mystical Beasts Pt.7.
From what I see you can only tap Goblins/Trolls in neighbor’s towns and that’s it. They’ll drop 1 and 1
Fighting Beasts
This gets a bit more complicated than I’d like to get into for the rundown post. We will have a FULL detailed post up on this soon.
But it’s similar to the previous battles, but a little more thought to it. You have to clear the “mana” at the top…and each character clears so much mana.
Safi’s already working on some analysis for this, so you know it’ll be detailed and full of stats. 🙂

I’m grateful for the easy Bonuts via Crafting Monorail Tracks and Kem Farming is a No Brainer (a shame returning Halloween items are not at Discount, not much interests me out of the new Halloween items, the Mystery Bin is meh – I 💜 the Harry Potter parodies but the execution felt phoned in compared to prior years).

After reading about it and testing it, it indeed is a very good buy, 34 premium task for 65 Donuts is a very good price. I’m glad that my question made you remember it, enjoy Zombifying your Springfield. 🙂
Thanks! Didn’t know it gave tasks. Now I have premium 1 hr tasks for a lot of characters. I also have premium 4 hr tasks for most characters with the walking kwik e mart. I am not doing apus task so I can keep the 4 hr task for every one 😈😈😈

I’ve been thinking about getting Ghost Maude, but it’ll cost me 2 mystery boxes to get her (the first try is Bob’s victorian house) and I don’t know if I want to spend 130 donuts on her especially since I’m a freemium player.
Does anyone have her from when she first appeared in the game? And would you recommend buying her?
There is no way of knowing what you will receive in the Mystery Box, the pictured lineup does not mean you will receive the items in that order. It is possible you receive what you want the first try or maybe the fifth try. There is no way of knowing, unfortunately.
Actually, there is a way to know and I’ve tried it twice in a row. It’s always the same result. First time I get Bob’s victorian house, second time Maude.
Having something work twice in a row is not proof of anything. If in was flipping a coin and said, “Every time I stand on my left foot I’m going to get heads” and then stood on my left foot and got heads twice, would you believe my assumption?
But, if you got the result you were aiming for, I’m glad for you! 🙂
I have tried it a third time, same result. And I’ve tried it on a previous mystery box 3 times as well, same result each time. It has lead me to believe that each player receives the items from a mystery box in a pre determined order, though that order is different for each player.
You may be right and it may just be coincidence, but there are about 9 different items still in my mystery box and having the same 2 in the same order come out 3 times in a row seems more like a fixed result than like a random outcome.
So, what’s the order? I’ve already purchased one or two mystery boxes, for this event, but I still have several items left to go.
My order starts with Bob’s victorian house followed by Ghost Maude. Since she is the one I wanted I didn’t check to see what items follows her. And for my ‘trick’ to find out what you get, you need donuts and I don’t have enough of those to know the full order.
But how did you know, in advance, what you were going to get? I thought you wetter suggesting that you had a predictive model. If you’re saying that you have an order and the order is the order in which you got items, but there’s no predictive element to it, then there’s absolutely no way to know whether that order was predetermined or not.
So, I do appreciate your taking the time to respond, but I’m just as confused as ever…can you tell me whether you were able to predict, in advance, what you would get and, if so, how?
I play on 2 devices. So when I want to know what I’ll get from a mystery box, I turn off the internet just before I buy them so I know what they’ll be. Which allows me to determine how many boxes I need to buy to get the item I want. If it only takes 1, I turn the internet back on and keep playing. If it doesn’t, I close the game and re-open it with my other device which then tells my my game wasn’t saved and gives me the option to play anyway starting from the last save point. This point being from before I bought the mystery box, so it’s like I never bought it, but I still know what I would get. If I try this over and over, unfortunately, I keep getting the same result.
It depends on wether you like her personaly or not, she does give Premium payout. Which ones remain in your Mystery Box? If it has Premium Characters + the Zombie Sandwich still in it I would say give it a shot.
I do like her and always wanted her, but I don’t want Bob’s vicrorian house and I have gotten used to buying premium characters for only 100 donuts so I was hoping she’d be in the store for that price (150 with a 50 rebate) as originally she was only 2000 cash….
And I am saving as much as I can for black friday which is only a month away…
Is anyones app still stuck? I have no new items in the shop. Only the prizes for wands and free costumes options as described in the picture above?

I bought a magical mystery box and was very happy to win the space mutant and drive in, but the space mutant didn’t show up when I placed the drive in. I checked my inventory and the town census… nothing. Am I missing something? I also just want to say thanks so much to all the addicts who work so hard on this blog. This game would not be as much fun without you.
You’ll need to do the first task or two on the Space Mutant track before it shows up (play a movie and a task for Homer I think).

I know what you mean. Several of my adult costumes from last year seem to be missing (acorn Kirk, squirrel Luann, etc). I bought Luann with donuts to get that quest line going a few Halloween’s ago, and I wouldn’t have if I knew the costumes/skins would go missing. Very frustrating.

How do you get more character slots to open up? Right now I have 3 characters and only 2 monsters but each monster only has one slot available. I noticed some people mentioned they were sending multiple characters to fight 1 monster.
Each Beast should have 4 slots. The appearance looks deceiving, but you can send 4 characters to battle every Beast.
Ah, thank you! What an incredibly unintuitive way to handle that, especially since every other event has had clearly open slots when you can send multiple characters.
I’m in the same boat. It looked like Treestache was a monster (1 of 7 in the Beast Enchanter), but after purchasing, Enchanter shows 1 of 6 and no Treestache.
I’m working through the Treestache quests to see if completing them changes this.
It does make him available after quest completion.
Is Angelica Button worth the deal? Or should I buy Martin instead?
I’d go with Martin…aside from the fact that he’s a more “core” charter, he can also help recycle plastic at the rail yard.
I’m pretty sure he already has Martin, as Martin is a freemium level up character. So he already has Martin to help with the rail yard. I believe his conundrum is whether to go with the Wizard Martin skin or an all-new character in Angelica Button.

One thing this event does do is point up just how good the writing is on the Futurama game at the moment. While that game has plenty of issues – and I don’t put it on the same level as TSTO – the writing is on point. The writing for the early stages of this event is, without a doubt, the worst Simpsons writing not just in the history of the game, but possibly the TV series too. I never stress early glitches – they come and they go – but this one lost me with the dialogue. Even if I was a Harry Potter fan – I’m not – I’d be disappointed.
Keep in mind the writers for Futurama don’t have a TV show to produce. They’re continuing the series via the Video game. Whereas the writers for TSTO are doing it in addition to writing for The Simpsons…

I’m honestly not a fan of the theme of the event. I love Harry Potter and this is actually really cool, but it all sorta clashes with my other Halloween stuff. I mean, aliens and M’nthster stuff also sorta don’t work, at least I can “hide” them in the “woods.” With Magic Academy I feel like it’s a whole thing in itself but still doesn’t quite work for me. Idk I hope I can figure out a way to make it flow better.
I didn’t experience any glitches until now, I’m KEM-farming an went up like 3-4 levels but it didn’t acknowledge it, and NO DONUTS!! Also the tasks in the task book don’t work either…. What should I do, contact EA?

WOW Alissa and TSTO writers… you are all so FAST when getting these blogs up! Holy moly! I just got the Halloween update yesterday and noticed it was not progressing at a certain point. Jokingly I said to my husband “I’ll check the blog” and sure enough… EXPLANATION!!! You are all so awesome! As far as event… I’m a little ‘underwhelmed’ with this event.. craftables aren’t very exciting when you already have a bunch…but I guess that’s what happens after years of playing. 🙁 The goblins are kind of cute. At least easier to find in neighbors Springfield than the concert goers or those lawyers! I noticed the cost of progressing in ACT 1 seems LOW. I got the 1st prize already but it was barely 24 hours and that never happens. Usually takes a day and 1/2 of multiple rounds. Plus daily challenge rewards seem low… 400 payout versus what used to be 2000 daily reward. Strange.

I’ve been one in the past to immediately get angry when an event seems lackluster once it starts. iOS was delayed! Repeat items! Where’s the music (something that is there…think maybe it kicked off once a little after completing the 6 second tasks)?!? Great, another 3 act event?!? OMG GLITCHES!
Yeah, some stuff might suck. But we’ve got an Angelica Button (and in spirit, Harry Potter) event!
So just go with the flow and remember that the event just kicked off. Maybe give it some time before immediately thinking its the worst thing ever 😄🤘
Hugely underwhelmed. The items are poor, the crafting full of hated clunkers like the covered bridge. Same old mechanics. Most of all, this is the worst dialogue I’ve ever seen in the game. Nothing remotely funny in the initial dialogue.
So glad to hear others voicing this opinion. When Alissa wrote her brilliant manifesto (Make TSTO Events Great Again) last week about how to bring back the TSTO magic, I was in 100% agreement.
This magic event does none of it. Long, same format, boring neighbor interactions, craftables (that suck), no community prize, 3 Act format, blah, blah, blah.
Seriously considering checking out for this one.

For the record…I didn’t expect this event to be different. It was too late in the process for that post to remotely impact Halloween. I do hope they’ll listen to tweak Christmas though

Is Wiggop a new character or NPC?
Wiggop is a Beast you can capture (“battle”) in the Beast Enchanter mode (think similar to a stage you can jam at in Homerpalooza). Whether or not you can use Wiggop to battle others once you’ve captured him remains to be seen, but is not out of the realm of possibility.
For some reason there is boo Halloween update… Just a Space update from a few days ago. Went to App store and it shows the Halloween image but seems all updated…thoughts??
Mine had the same thing, but I clicked on it anyway and it gave me the option to update. Try that. Hopefully it will work.
