There’s nothing quite as beautiful as Springfield in the snow, is there? Yes, it’s finally winter in Springfield as the 2017 Christmas Event dropped in our towns late yesterday afternoon!
For Act 1 of Christmas, you’re tasked with working your way through the introduction of the initial Alien invasion…as Kang plots to take over the world!
As was mentioned on the run down post Act 1 of Christmas runs until December 19th (when Act 2 will start), and you’ll need Kang and Kodos to get things started
Don’t forget the Questline will help you get some bonus prize currency…so make sure you complete it to earn that extra currency…also the questline is there to guide you. Make sure you complete the main questline in order to unlock things like neighbor actions, crafting and more.

Anyone else having funzo spawn rate problems? I started today with a daily task of tap 40 funzos. I only got to 27 first thing, and three hours later I had 10 more. That doesn’t seem right?

Isn’t there any other way to earn the event currency apart from tapping the robot funzos and playing the zapping mini game( and buying premium items which earns event currency )?

I like this event. It’s Christmas and it’s low key, I think the alien angle is fun. I like that I’m not using all my railyard workers for the event. I was a little dissapointed that the chance at the mystery box was for a new mystery box. I thought it was going to be the other 50 donut mystery box. I knew it seemed too easy.
What items now have the .8% bonus? I missed the post.
Holiday Trees from the past now seem to have slightly higher bonus than before.
Also, if you have the (free) Christmas Float in inventory – time to bring it out. 0.50% bonus now.
The Holiday Tree got a +.1 and the Christmas float got +.5… Not sure about anything else
Any ideas why the Christmas stuff hasn’t appeared on my app?
A few thoughts on the new update:
*Robot Funzos are not so easy to spot but that’s ok. The locator button on the top right of the screen makes up for that.
*Free land tokens are prizes but there is no land expansion available if you already bought All the squares from Halloween. Thanks for nothing.
*This is another event that relies heavily on old content, especially the crafting prizes. That’s great if you’re a relatively new player. Cue the big sad horn sound if you’re a long time player and already have most or all of this stuff.
*I think I’m ok without the every 4 hour grind. It frees up some characters for visible tasks with their winter/Xmas skins. I’m enjoying seeing Ned singing carols, Homer clearing snow, Comic Book Guy airing grievances, and Burns & Smithers having a money fight!

Out of 17 crafting items 7 are returning, 10 are new. Beyond that and the Winter Wonderland Mystery Box, how much old content to you see?
And aside from the holiday bazaar, which is just giving people the chance to buy old stuff. Not relying on it for the event itself…
I’m actually glad to see some of the returning stuff, even tho I’ve been playing awhile. I want to stock up on ice walls…a couple of my neighbors have great displays with them and the ice castle. I’m going to “borrow” some ideas (Sam and Torrie…thanks).😜❄️❄️
I got ice from the mystery box (from the flying funzo mini game). Did it go to my inventory? What/where is it? There were only two-ish real prizes. I must already have everything else. Thanks.
The ice should show up on the same panel as roads, pavement, etc.
It is in your pull up for roads, concrete, dirt etc.

Love it. It’s much more Christmassy than the pagan event last year (which wasn’t THAT bad really). You’ve got Santa (OK Santa’s got tentacles) and Jesus (thankfully tentacle free) and toys and some great prizes (can’t wait to get the ice rink). I had to reboot my iPad to get the update for some reason. Think probably we will get some character jobs to earn currency soon. Them little pesky Funzos though!!!! Can hardly seem them plus my Springfield is HUGE so I just don’t know where to start.

Tap the Funzo button in the upper right corner. It will take you to the Funzos.

There’s a button that appears in the upper right-hand corner that shows you where the Funzos are located. Thank goodness, because I have a huge town too.
It’s a little robot Funzo, next to the Re-Gifting Machine button in case you’re having trouble finding the button. 🙂
Anyone find tips or tricks to attract Funzos in friends towns yet? i.e. tapping something or someone.
They seem to be more plentiful within a 2 block radius of the ocean (but that has been true with all the events), so scroll down the shoreline. Also, usually 2 in SH (unless there are cobblestone roads, they don’t like them). One is usually close to the entry point…within a block or so…again, unless the area is cobblestones.
Doesn’t really bother me, though it causes me to ponder…
Rigellian Manger
Could be sensitive to some. For me, at the moment, just too expensive. Can not come close to justify it.
On the bright side, so far, today’s daily task is to tap 40 robots with a prize of 450. Wow! That will certainly move me ahead on the prize track.
Trying to find my Elf Cannon. Must be some where. Disappointed that the language suggests that the Rigellian Cannon, one must wait until one has 6 rounds to have a chance at the Mystery Box, rather than simply once you have ‘won’ six rounds, you will get a Mystery Box.
I wonder what the Ice that I ‘won’ will turn into, come the Winter thaw.

I completed stage 8 of the first act but can’t complete stage 9 until I get the rigellian construction site. However that is a long way down the line. Am I missing something? There doesn’t appear to be anything else to do except tap funzos. Surely this can’t be right can it?
Tap those funzos🤖🤖🤖…that’s it. The story line went really quick, due to all the 6 sec tasks….sooooo…just keep tapping.👍🎄😁
I’m not getting the daily challenges. I have a month old ticket with EA. I’m concerned about completing the Prize Line. I’m looking forward to the Addicts analysis on premium skins, calendar, etc. My Simpson House is in the middle of an open field. It’s easier to see and destroy the mini game robot Funzos and put that Sci Fighter experience to good use.
I’m having the same issue in my B game and have been since October. I’ve just been referred to the forum multiple times and given a one time apology of 20 donuts. I gotta dig up that phone number for the help desk in Austin, they’re great.
I was really hopeful this past update would fix it.

Info I put in the post about banks etc is just from the files, it’s not verified in-game. It could be that it’s not supposed to work and I just don’t see the line of coding saying it. Take that kind of specific info with a grain of salt unless I say it’s verified in-game. One of the big reasons I don’t like posting things like that, because then everyone gets upset…

Same here. Slept a long 4 hours and got the no more Funzo sign after tapping 4. Thanks Alissa for pointing out that it is in the code. Now they need to turn on the bank to this otherwise nice event.

I got the scratcher and ‘only’ got 100 donuts so I decided to use those on the Rigellian North Pole. For some reason I thought it paid out wrapping paper but was disappointed it only pays out 10 batteries.
Overall I’m very happy with the theme

I miss the days when upgrades were something to look forward to. When they actually cared enough to put out an upgrade that was fun and challenging. Now all they do is change the outfits. It’s boring. I’d give up on This little game if I didnt have some many years invested in it….

If you’re on ios, you may have to delete and reinstall…or update ios. I hadn’t updated ios to the new version, and the TSTO update wasn’t loading. As soon as I updated ios, TSTO Christmas was right there in the app store waiting for me.
No tasks to earn currency?
That’s what I was wondering too… I bought the elf costumes for Lisa & Bart ’cause it said they earn even currency, waiting to finish their questline to see what they do..
The story line seems so short. I realised that there’s no every four hour grind fest and it feels odd not having to do that. There are no character tasks or really anything to do apart from tapping robot-funzos.
It’s like I’m missing something here 😀
How/when/why is Mr. Burns golden stack smaller and the tax collection radius smaller and how do I get it back?

I had the same thing happen to me last week!! Ended up having to contact EA and they had to reset my game to the day before the issues started. It took care of it but I also lost all of the things I earned (and bought with real money) in the previous event. They gave me 70 donuts for the inconvenience…which sadly won’t pay for even one character that I lost let alone several. Kinda bummed but at least it’s working now. I just emailed EA and they were pretty quick to get back to me. The first step they ask is if you tried visiting friends towns, Krystyland, etc, doing a reinstall…all the tips the wonderful Addicts here suggest it there are issues, so if you haven’t tried those, please do. Hope you get it all straightened out quickly, good luck and have a lovely day!! : )
Tapping Funzo’s in friends Towns is very difficult / impossible – will not be bothering unless I get the Robot icon in the top right corner to help.

I accidentally left Groundskeeper Willie outside last night, half-naked eating gruel. I actually felt extremely sorry for the poor guy when I woke up to the update and snow! What am I, nuts or something? I felt guilty about leaving a fictional character out in the cold. The answer is, yes I am nuts. I am a TSTO addict! That says it all.
I sometimes feel guilty for characters staying in the snow like Duffman, Femme Fatale, Freddy Quimby on his 24h task etc. so I like to send them on indoor tasks where it is warm and away from the cold.
