It’s finally Christmas in Springfield! Our pocket-sized Springfields have been covered with a fresh blanket of snow! What’s in store for us this time? Well, we’re tasked with trying to determine if Grampa Simpson ever saves Christmas, while he bores Death…well to death! Loads of dialogue with this one, so be sure to read along to see what happens! And of course, I’ll be posting it as each week wraps up.
Abe’s in Toyland follows the same event structure of the Multi-Events before it. This event consists of 4 parts (or Acts), with each part lasting a week and taking us through a new part of the event!
For Week 2, Act 2, we’re following the second, Grampa Saves Christmas, story…a tale from the streets of London! All of the prizes unlocked during week 2 play a role in that storyline.
So let’s take a look at prize 5 Edwina…

Grampa: I’m glad to see you. But things have changed since the war. Back then I had to live fast, because death could come at any moment.
Edwina: So basically just like now…

Edwina: I’d be delighted. It’ll be just like going to a U.S.O. dance in London during the war. Meanwhile, I’ll entertain myself by comparing chips, which is what we call French fries, and French fries, which is what you call chips.

Grampa: Aw, I hate these modern ideas from these modern girls. By which I mean anyone born after 1925.
Jasper: And I hate anyone who speaks such fancy English that she knows when to use “whomever”.

Edwina is neat character since her visuals are cool especially her 4 hour task and the fact that the first part of her questline references Brexit. I wish her indoor tasks were at better locations like her 8 hour task going to the red phone booths from the Springfield Jobs or the blue cash phone booths. I also wish her 24 hour task was at Carnaby Street maybe as a slight reference to Bart and Lisa’s sugar bender through the street. Part of me also hoped she had a task (possibly her 1h task) at Buckingham Pay-less Motel but I wasn’t surprised. She is still a character I remember more than Orville. 🇬🇧 🍟

So glad we got a Lass from Grandpa Simpson’s past …. all that’s missing are 2 permanent Tasks with Edwina and Abbey out shopping …. Edwina and Abe (Grandpa Simpson) strolling thru the 🇬🇧 section of our Springfield (and that’s my only criticism).
A fun Act 2 / Week 2, I can’t say the rest of this Event will impress me (since I know what to expect), but let’s see what else I can have fun in TSTO since EA has let Tappers down (no Halloween, no Christmas, no wonder we’re all cranky!)
