Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Love is in the air! Although maybe not so much in the Simpsons’ household…
Love and War is the latest event to hit our pocket-sized towns, and it’s an all-out romance novel affair! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Captain Mordecai and his Boat to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this seasick combo to your town…

The Rundown:
-Standard price for a character/building combo
-Helps earn event currency at a premium rate
-Voiced
-Comes with questline
-Visual Tasks are 4hrs and 8hrs
-Will use his boat for 2 tasks
-Animated tasks are amusing
What Did I Do?:
Grabbed it. The standard price, a new character to help with the event…no brainer. And, unlike Pat, I enjoy the alternate versions of The Simpsons. (also, of all the premium characters with this event..this is the one Safi recommends buying…)
Here’s a look at the tasks…
Captain Mordecai’s Permanent Tasks:
Task | Length | Earns | Location |
Check his Food Storage | 1hr | $105, 26xp | Captain Mordecai’s Boat |
Make Out With A Ship Figurehead | 4hrs | $260, 70xp | Outside/Visual |
Go Whaling | 8hrs | $420, 105 | Outside/Visual |
Grab Some Mead | 12hrs | $600, 150xp | Moe’s |
Sleep One Off | 24hrs | $1,000, 225xp | Captain Mordecai’s Boat |
I’ll have the full dialogue of the questline up later on, but for now, here’s the Turbo Tappin’ version of the questline…

Thoughts on the Captain or his boat? Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already? Why or why not? Where have you placed it in your town? Design plans? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
And feel free to share some photos of your design plan as well! If you need help (or a refresher) posting photos in the comments, check out this post.
I have always had great sympathy for the Sea Captain (yarrr.. I hate the sea and everything in it) and I really like how Pirate Nelson has a visual task swabbing the deck of the Houseboat. So having another bumbling sailor jargon speaking dimwit would be nice, but I just can’t stomach the whaling. No animal cruelty in my little Stringfield. Sea Captain will have to suffice with my Captain Murdock or what’s the name of the beard shampooing Ghost Ship owner as his grog buddy..
My biggest complaint with Tsto is and has been for some time the inability to place boats in a river/on a water tile, and/or being able to connect said water tiles to the sea. Maybe someday….
It is weird. Where does all of that water come from?? It never rains. No rivers or streams. Just weird!
Bought it. Who doesn’t a another sailing ship in the harbour?
Captain Mordecai w/Mordecai’s Boat
Worth spending the Sprinkles for (especially if you find most of the Event Prizes ‘meh’), I can agree with Patric regarding another Variant (the Visual Tasks are funny , so is the Character Dialogue!) …. my constructive criticism is “why give us a ship that goes in the water , but has no permanent Character Tasks, and has nothing happen visually when you Tap it?” (very L-EA-Z-Y!)
It’s pretty much a given I’ll pick up the premiums on the updates since there’s not a whole lot else going on and I can bloodmobile all the donuts I need. Doesn’t leave much for returning content and mystery boxes though.
Mordecai’s catchphrases are amusing. Fun questline with the Seacaptain. Haven’t seen the visual tasks yet but making out with the figurehead seems hilarious. I couldn’t see any animation to the boat but I’ll have the yoga studio soon and then I’ll enjoy at my leisure.
Instant buy. Glad to have another boat.
