Spending actual cash on donuts for a character is back in TSTO. This is something EA’s been rolling out over the last few years, and it’s a new bonus for actually spending cash on donuts. (instead of just farming them) Where they attach a premium, limited-time, character to one of the donut bundles sometimes in addition to bonus donuts.
And I want to be perfectly clear…you do not need to buy these characters to complete an event. You can still play this game, and complete all the tasks and prizes, 100% free. These cash-for-character items are a new type of premium currency…because donuts have been so devalued with donut farming.
This time around we’re being offered Daisy McGunnan, a premium character, for a tray of 132 Donuts ($9.99 in the US)..no bonus this time around. While it’s hard for me to sit here and tell you if you should or shouldn’t spend actual cash on the game (spoiler, I think you should always spend at least a small amount…even if it’s $.99/year on the game if it brings you joy and you want to see it continue) I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of Daisy, tasks, questline and other details you may be curious about.
So let’s consider this an abbreviated Should I Buy….
It’s time for a little bounty hunting in Springfield! Breakout Bounty is an all-new mini-event to hit our pocket-sized towns, and it’s full of bounty hunters, convicts, and everything in-between! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Wolf the Bounty Hunter and Bail Bonds to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this combo to your town…
There’s an app store update available in our stores for TSTO…this will remove the Simpsonsverse event from your game, and change the splash screen back to “normal”.
Along with this update, comes the pre-load for our next mini-event…Breakout Bounty!
This mini-event will not start until TOMORROW, September 15th, @ 11am ET…so please don’t ask why it hasn’t started for you if it’s before September 15th at 11am on the East Coast of the US. (and if it’s after that time, it’s likely because you haven’t updated from the app store)
Until the mini-event starts…here’s a little teaser about what will be included with the new mini-event…
So look for Breakout Bounty to start tomorrow, September 15th, at 11am ET…until then make sure you download the update from the app store!
It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So, here is your Open Thread…..
Lots of things you may have missed this week around the Addicts Site:
The Simpsonsverse even is officially over, thoughts on it? What do you think we’ll see next? Should be a mini-event next, followed by Halloween. Ideas for either?
How’s your Springfield design coming? What are you doing with your town? Share some photos in the comments below! (If you need a refresher on how to add photos to the comments check out this post) Don’t forget about Showoff this week!
Any weekend excitement going on in your neck of the woods? Have anything fun planned?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well) Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!
Your senses can evoke powerful memories in you. The smell of saltwater can trigger you back to your youth spent at the beach, the touch of cotton can bring you back to memories of your mom, and hearing sounds of TSTO can bring back countless hours spent tap, tap, tapping away.
So let’s take a trip down memory lane via the sound effects of TSTO…
Just a reminder that the Simpsonsverse Event Ends TOMORROW September 8th.
Hopefully, you’ve all successfully made it through the multi-verse, as we move onto something new in Springfield!
As far as questlines go, what’s happened in the past is that the current prize you’re working on (on any Act questline) you were able to finish. Once that current prize was completed then the questline disappeared.
This means that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.
Well, here in the US today marks the unofficial end of Summer…Labor Day. I think it’s funny how here in America we don’t bother using calendars to mark the start and end of our summers…we just know Memorial Day is the unofficial start and Labor Day is the unofficial end. Sometimes I think we just like the excuse for a good Barbecue! 😉
Of course, Labor Day isn’t really about the end of summer…and it isn’t only celebrated in the US (our friends up in Canada are celebrating it today as well…). Labor Day (or Labour Day) is a celebration of the worker’s movement. It’s meant to honor those who contribute to the strength and prosperity of their country. (you can read more about it here)
Anywho… most Americans will spend today soaking up what’s left of their summer (or in my case, crying my eyes out because the Tiny Addict starts FIRST GRADE tomorrow…can you believe it?!) and we’re no exception here.
Don’t worry… we’ll still be popping in and out of the comments throughout the day to help you with all of your Simpsonsverse questions. Just keep in mind it might take us a little while to moderate through all the comments, so we thank you in advance for your patience!
We hope you all have a GREAT day! Do you have any plans for today? Did you enjoy your summer? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
