I am here to help you with Number 1. NOT THAT NUMBER 1!! The main character for our fun lil Stonecutters Event. THIS GUY!
SIDE NOTE: If you are not finishing these tasks before the end of the 24 hours, the task WILL roll over and become the #1 task for the day. This causes the game to then skip to #2 for the new day and move on from there. As some of you have seen, the days and times are all over. I believe this is due to they were set to run on the GMT clock, but are resetting on the players midnight time frame…this leaves a difference in the time windows. So YOUR game times may differ from the list. Not to mention if you keep rolling over tasks. Just focus on the task itself and characters involved and you will be fine.
UPDATE 6-6-14 11AM EST: It seems the tasks are now correcting back to the right hour rates for Friday. Let us know if you are still having the issue.
UPDATE 6-6-14: So as I am sure many of you are starting to notice as your timers are resetting for the day…the tasks for Number 1 are NOT lining up. It is so odd. The files…still the same. I even re-downloaded them all to check. Same. So…another glitch (good I guess?) and we are on repeat for Thursdays tasks. Got another message in wait with EA on it to see if I can get an answer…meanwhile…Look to Thursday for the set of tasks you will run into…unless it auto corrects itself.
UPDATE 6-5-14: If you are experiencing the glitch with the tasks disappearing, please go to the forums and post as well as contact EA.
In the meantime try this…look on the calendar I made to see the time frames for the tasks (they go in order 1 to 4 for the day), then using that…go to the tasks list I have below and then you can just locate the characters on those tasks and see who has one of those random task in there lists to send them. For instance, today (June 5th) is 1 hr/ 2hr/ 2hr/ 4hr…so find the tasks in those brackets and see if your character can be sent without tapping on Number 1.

Solve Number 1′s Task
Number 1: When young brains freeze, it causes an insatiable appetite for following orders.
Homer: *gasp* You are more eveil than I imagined. Fortunately, our kids are too smart for that. They’d never fall for -!
Lisa: Hmmm, I suddenly really want to drink a Squishee.
Homer: *screams*
Another set of random tasks are initiated into the game to help you earn even more Emblems and the Emblem Prizes. The more tasks you complete during the day of the four, the more Emblems you earn for that day. WARNING!!! THESE WILL EXPIRE EVERY 24 HOURS SO GET THEM IN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! 8 GMT -8 GMT or 4AM EST – 3:59AM EST. (FYI…even though the files say 8 GMT, I noticed that my game actually resets at midnight in MY time zone. So just watch that countdown clock at the bottom of the tasks. “Hurry. Rewards reset in ##h ##m ##s” Don’t let it run out before finishing a few tasks.)
In this next section I am going to break down the tasks and all involved. The time frames that will be set for the day, the tasks that are in those time frames, and the characters that will be able to complete those tasks. (Send more than one if you can. I keep trying with no luck but hope to find a glitch. Lol.)
First up, the Calendar. This is just the break down of the times for the quests. No two games will get same 4 task requests in a day. They will vary per player. So here is what you can expect over the next month of game play as far as times needed for the tasks (Click on image to see larger scale).

I don’t know if this has been asked before, but if I send someone to complete the last number 1 task of the day and he finished before the time elapses, but I don’t have chance to click his thumb to collect the prize, does it roll to be the first of the next day? Or will I get the reward?

What level are you on? Seems like the early groups are represented by characters from Low levels…
The only ones you might have difficulty with is Criminals and Civil Servants…and they’ll unlock with Snake and Wiggum
Homer is Glutton and a dimwit
Cletus is a Dimwit and a Kook
Krusty is a Celebrity and a Pessimist
Apu is an Entrepreneur
Mr. Burns is a High Roller
Ned is a Saint and Senior
CBG is a Pessimist and Brainiac
Lisa is a Youngster and a Brainiac
And that’s just SOME through Level 16.
Level 17 you unlock Wiggum & there’s your Civil Servant and Level 19 you unlock Snake (I think it’s 19 it might be 18). So as long as you’re at Level 20 you should be able to have 1 character do each task, at least. And the first 20 levels do go fairly quickly, so if you’re not there yet, you should be close before the event ends.
But each day they’ll (they tasks) reset for you.

I can’t see what the #1 tasks are. I got the “solve the #1 task” quest but I can’t see what I need to do to solve it. When I’m trying to click the stonecutters button on the right side at top of the screen it nothing happens, the window shows up for a nano sec and then disappears. Help me )):
My suggestion for the ongoing glitch is to see what could possibly be the tasks for today on the calendar. So if you were on #1, look to see what the first time slot is in the calendar (like 2hrs) , then scroll down to the tasks for that time (like study the bible), and check the characters that could be sent on that task.
A few characters that are in most the groups are Comic book guy, Quimby, Wolfcastle, Rod, and Agnes…so look in their tasks to see if ANY match up to the tasks I have listed here. Make sense?
Usually, once you complete one, the rest come back to normal and the glitch fixes itself. Let me know if that helps.

You need to make sure you are matching the Number 1 task asked for to the proper characters. NOT the existing tasks that a lot of the characters already have. (Like the 10 minute visits). The only Number 1 task I see is Complain to a Doctor.
The Number 1 task specifically states it is a 6 hour task to Complain To A Doctor. So you need to find the SIX hour one in the Kooks. As you can see on the list here, the Kooks are Krusty, Moleman, Otto, Rodd, Todd, Willie, Kang, Disco Stu, Crazy Cat Lady, Bumblebeeman, Herman, Apu, Ralph, Brandine, Cletus, Yes Guy, Hugs, Kodos, Sea Captain, Shary Bobbins, Frink. So look in those only and in 6 hours only.

My 9 June tasks started with the four-hour task “Send a Saint to Chat with Old People.” That doesn’t jive with the calendar.
That being said, since I have a Level 41 Springfield with tons of cash, I’m just leaving everyone untasked so that I have maximum flexibility with minimum thinking in case so that I have no problem finding someone to take care of the job.
They’re in a random order. Those are the assigned time slots, but what order they appear is random. They’re listed in the files as Bunny has listed them on the Calendar, but they appear random in the game.
If you started the first task between midnight and 8am GMT, then it seems you get the first task from the previous day. My wife and I are back on track after similar issue on Sat and Sun. So far today, Mon, is 2,1 and I’ll bet ours finishes 4,1. Good luck to you going forward.
My two towns are reset at 1am GMT and I start the first task before 8am GMT (generally between 5am and 6am GMT).
It seems that each task started before 8am GMT corresponds for me to the tasks of the previous day: the first task, and sometimes the second task if I can start it before 8am GMT.
The remaining tasks correspond to the tasks of the day.
What I’ve been doing is sending others on the same or shorter length tasks so almost all are free to choose from on the next task from number 1. Another idea I’ve seen is to keep one person from each group free. Props to the person who came up with a very short list for that. Comic book guy, Quimby, Wolfcastle, Rod, and Agnes.
Of course this morning I used CBG and then looked at the parchment task. D’oh!

Well today it didnt start with a 4 hour task. But 1. Then 6 hours. 4 hours…. im missing the forth task
Just follow what your game has set for the daily tasks. I think the GMT time is not syncing with the games and causing differences in the tasks.

Someone on another site thinks it is related to when 8am GMT and when you start the tasks. For me 8 am GMT is 4 am. So if I start a task after midnight (when it reset) and before 4 am the task time is from yesterday’s time chart. If it is after 4 am, it is from today’s time chart. So far that seems to be how mine is working
As I stated in my post, the time set in the files is 8GMT, but for some reason it rolls at midnight instead for each player. (For me that is two hours ahead of schedule.) So there is definitely a timing discrepancy between the two. My best suggestion is to just use more the tasks and characters that complete the task as the calendar is helpful to most…but some still are not lining up on times with the discrepancy. (The hour slots are still exactly the same as the calendar in the files.)
This fits what happened to me and my wife. We both stayed up until Sun started,and at midnight got a 1hr task, which was the time from Sat first task. Wife went to bed. I stayed up to finish the 1 hr task and then got a 2 hr task, which is the same as Sat second task. I then went to sleep. Now we both got up and it was past 8 GMT. The rest of my tasks were 4,6. Hers were 6,4,6. In each case what was not done was from Sun’s table.
And if your head does not hurt, the next step is to think about how to take best advantage of this, if this what is happening.
Then again it could be the code uses a random value based on who knows what. Reminds me of a famous psychology experiment where the experimentor used a random generator, but the subjects did not know that. They invented amazing explanations for the random behavior.

Based on the assumption that this substitution thing and 8am GMT/Midnight thing is what is happening, and that it last for the entire event (:-)) I came up with my plan for now, which I’ll share. This is based on me wanting to stay up past midnight the minimum number of times, and only substituting (doing) the first task. Sometimes trying to do this only hurts you. Other times it does not hurt or help, but you have to get a head start to do 20 hrs of tasks in 24 hrs. The first column is the date, the second is Midnight, if I’m going to do the first task at midnight, or Free if not, and the third column is the latest time I have to get started the next day to be finished by 11pm (to give me an hour slack).

So after staying up last night, my first task was 1 hour! 😨 Serves me right for letting the “cat” control my schedule (as pointed out earlier by someone else). So my tasks today we’re 1,6,4,6. Looks like the first time tasks from yesterday and today swapped, as I had a 4 hour task first yesterday before they matched the calendar. Just wanted to share. Still enjoying the event, it’s so fun! Homer the Great is one of my all time favorite episodes, so it’s even more enjoyable!

Don’t stress it. Look at my post for the Math of the game. There are TONS of ways to earn Emblems in this event.
Neither my wife nor I are seeing Sunday’s tasks being (4,6,4,6). Mine is starting (1,2,4,x), and hers is (1,6,x,y). So hers matches nothing on the calendar. Deliberate coding of a random pattern based on criteria we don’t know, or just random. I don’t believe it is a bug in the code. The files could be defaults, overrridden by coding in some cases. I’m not complaing. I like a challenge. And for the second day in a row I got 5 dropped donuts visiting my neighbors! Wooohooo!
With all the glitches and variables with it (it still shows same in files as the calendar) I would say just focus on matching up the tasks and characters from this point out. It seems there is most definitely something weird going in with the times. Some follow the calendar day to day…others…all over. Lol.

Mine was strange too 4hr, 6hr, 4hr, 1hr. Not sure what happened, probably something to do with my timer changing, instead of it resetting at 12am, it’s now 10am. Oh well, like you said Bunny, no point focusing on the calender. I’m still getting the tasks done though which is good. 🙂
Some of these are not fair seeing as you have only 24 hours to complete and the tasks take 20 hours. They should be a little more reasonable.
You do not have to finish them. They are just more options for you to earn Emblems through the event. My Math Post shows a lot of other ways to still earn a lot of Emblems. Hang in there.

Is there any sort of official consensus yet on how it affects #1’s Tasks if your last task of the day doesn’t finish by midnight? I didn’t start my last Friday task (the 6-hour) until after 9 pm yesterday (foiled by happy hour 🙂 . This morning, #1 awarded me 150 emblems instead of the 400 emblems I’d have earned yesterday. Then, he started off with a 2 hour task for June 7th, instead of the 1 hr task. It was nice to see that I didn’t get zero emblems for missing the midnight deadline or get too badly set back! It seemed to just roll over to the next day and count as the first task of the new day.
Is this happening to others and something we can count on as a silver lining of missing the “deadline” on occasion?

Yah…it is happening to many. You only have that small 24 hour window to squeeze in all those tasks. If you do not complete the last one sent before the clock times out…it rolls into the new day as the first prize and moves on to the 2nd one.

What would I do without you guys? I was so confused till I read this post – thought the time for each assigned task was random so when I got “send a celebrity to milk a cow” I was super excited to send Boobarella who has a one hour task of “Milk Cletus’s Cow” – thought I was getting ahead faster with this one hour task and couldn’t for the life of me figure out why I wasn’t getting credit for completing it. Thx so much for the clarification – next time I’ll know to pick the 6 hr version when it’s my 4th task in the progression. Overall really liking this update, nice to just have fun with it again, puzzles and tapping, no random wheels of chance – ahhh! Very nice.

I’m assuming that today will be operating on Friday’s schedule. My first task just started off as a 4 hr instead of a 1 hr. Or could it be another glitch! I hope not and maybe because of yesterday’s timing glitch there just going to let it operate a day behind.
All I ever see is send civil servants on a task. But I never get a task. Plus I have enough emblems for the next prize but have yet to get it.
The tasks are “hidden” so you will NOT see a ! over the character or the task highlighted. It is why I made these handy list. You need to go to the characters in the group it asks you to send and locate the task yourself….then send them on it. The Emblems you see for the items are a REWARD, not a cost. So once the character you send completes the task…you get that many Emblems for a reward added to your count.
