Real Housewives of Springfield: Princess Penelope

Hey there Addicts. In this little game of ours, we tend to forget those characters that are few and far between. We get so involved in the game, so into the latest events…that we sometimes forget to pay attention to the little things. The little details that make the Springfield world go around. The thing that seems to be really lacking/missing from Springfield.

What exactly is it I am going on about? What is so terribly important to the game that would draw such attention. WOMEN OF COURSE! To be a bit more specific, The Real Housewives of Springfield (and maybe a mistress or 3. Gotta have the drama aspect in any series, right?).

So keep your eyes on our blog as we take you on a journey into the lives of each of the women currently and NOT currently available in the game.

For this edition of the game, our resident Lady Addicts let the fuzzball dish for once on a character.  Maybe it was my insistence that Anne Hathaway just doesn’t realize how in love with me she is or maybe they just wanted me to work, who knows?

Princess Penelope (I always pronounce that Pee Na Lowp because of a silly friend of mine) isn’t one of those characters who’s been all over the Best. Show. Ever.  In fact, she’s mainly isolated to one but that doesn’t mean we can’t figure out just who this princess really is.

Our new lady of TSTO comes from Season 21, Episode 10: “Once Upon a Time in Springfield”.  Let’s see what there is to see about her…

Princess Penelope

Krusty’s ratings are plummeting in the young female demographic and something must be done.  The answer is a new female co-star… Princess Penelope… she can sing, she can prance… glitter, dragons, flying AND a unicorn.

Princess Penelope 2

Krusty’s audience is now packed with girls who want to be princesses and he’s now basically a sidekick.  Even his gift shop has been taken over by her merchandise.  One thing is for certain, Penelope is popular with the young ladies.

Princess Penelope 3

Here’s what we know about her… Princess is a beautiful brunette who copied Snow White’s style when she made her princess dress.  Her real name is Princess and she’s under 33, a Congregationalist and from Mineola, Long Island, New York.  She has the accent to prove it (although she sounds Jersey to me) and can effect a princess voice at the drop of a hat.  She’s been a Krusty fan since she was 12 and her father was the station manager of WDQT which aired his program.  She was unpopular in school because she was more beautiful and friendly than everyone else.  She was a member of the Krusty Fan Klub, still has her Krusty Klub ring and membership card.  She not only grew up loving Krusty, she actually loves him in a romantic smooch on the face kind of way.

Princess Penelope 4

After kissing Krusty in her dressing room, his show turns into the “Krusty and Princess Penelope Smoochy-Poo I Love You Hour… no laughs… just hugs and cuddles.”

Princess Penelope 5

In no time at all, Krusty pops the question. This would be Krusty’s 25th marriage according to Kent Brockman and reportedly, Penelope has never been married and is not a real princess.  Her real name is Penelope Mountbatten Hapsburg Hohenzollern Mulan Pocahontas.  Of course, three of those names are related to royalty in real life and the others are underrated Disney “princesses”.

Unfortunately, Bart and Milhouse take it upon themselves to ruin the marriage by telling Penelope what a bad husband Krusty will be.  We learn she actually really loves the clown because she knows everything (and I mean everything) and doesn’t care.  Sounds like a good woman to me.

Princess Penelope 6

Sad day.  It turns out that Princess Penelope is the only woman Krusty cares enough about to ditch at the altar.  He’s not good enough for her.  Could this be the end of a real romance?  Well, we do see in the ending scenes of the episode that Penelope moved to Paris to be a transient street guitar player and Krusty tracks her down for more smooches.

Princess Penelope 7

I’d love to say there’s more or that she appears in other episodes and fills out her mystery but the truth is, she isn’t.  It’s briefly mentioned in “Loan-A-Lisa” (S22:E2) that she has her own handbag brand and she appears with glitter and the unicorn during the opening sequences of “The Ned-liest Catch” (S22:E22) and “Them, Robot” (S23:E17).  As a famous pig would say, “That’s All Folks.”

Princess Penelope 8

With all the info and few appearances, it would be easy to say Penelope is just a one-dimensional character but via TSTO, we actually know what happened to Krustelope.  While they didn’t get married, they did date and apparently she was smart enough to get an advantageous prenup that gave her stuff without the ceremony.  She somehow had a 25-year-old son although she is only 27.  She’s also a better poker player than Krusty, eats small portions and has a thing for white tigers in penthouses.  Ok, maybe that doesn’t add much but what can you do?  I’ll just pretend it’s really Anne Hathaway and she’s singing in my town forever.

Thanks to Level 43 and some love for Krustyland, we have yet another lady to add to our growing list of characters, this time in the form of an ex-girlfriend.  As a bonus, since she came with Krusty’s Giant Wheel in the game, she has tasks in both Springfield and Krustyland.

Penelope’s Springfield Tasks:

Task Length Earns Required
Play Acoustic Guitar 1hr $70, 17 XP Outside
Eat a Tiny Salad With No Dressing 4hrs $175, 45 XP Luigi’s
Get Guitar Restrung 8hrs $275, 70 XP King Toot’s
Record a Princess Special 12hrs $600, 150 XP KrustyLu Studios
Play Poker 24hrs $600, 150 XP Businessman’s Social Club

Penelope’s Krustyland Tasks:

Task Length Earns Required
Play Acoustic Guitar 1hr 21 tickets, 17 XP Outside
Greet Park Goers 4hrs 52 tickets, 45 XP Krustyland Entrance
Play a Princess Song 8hrs 82 tickets, 70 XP Outside
Eat Way Less Than One Plate 12hrs 180 tickets, 150 XP One Plate Maximum Buffet
Sleep in the Penthouse with Two White Tigers 24hrs 180 tickets, 150 XP Krustyland Hotel

NOTE: The earnings for her 12 and 24 hour tasks are the same and I believe this is because you can only do her 12 hr tasks if you have the premium building that comes with it hence the higher earning.

What do YOU think of Penelope? Like her? Hate her? Wish it was a different lady that was brought in the game? If so, who? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. Anyone notice a possible glitch with the beginning of this questline? It tells me to buy 2 KL balloons, which I already had. However the game does not seem to recognize this and is making me buy 2 more (which I can never sell back – rage). Then when I go back to Springfield, the taskbook tells me I have completed this task … until I go back to KL.

    • You can’t use the ones you already own. You have to buy new ones in K-Land. The ones from Thanksgivings past are not usable in Krustyland…so you have to buy new ones directly from Krustyland.

      • Doh! I thought it would be like other Springfield tasks where you are credited if you bought the item before. Oh well, looks like I will have an abundance of Poochie balloons.

        Thanks 🙂

  2. OK how do you unlock her as I’m lvl 44 and at the point where I can switch .y Tickets for Cash but Penelope and all that still Locked plus the Fleeta Pita thing as well.

    • Fleet a pita is part of Luann’s questline. Won’t unlock unless you buy Luann.
As far as Level 44 goes you have to build the Wheel and complete part 1 of Princess and the Pea brain to get to Level 44. For Level 43 to pop (where Penelope is) you have to at least build itchy and scratchy studios and unlock Roger Myers Jr

  3. TY for the new pronunciation of Penelope’s name…. 🙂

  4. I don’t mind the character, but the quest line just seemed like it was thrown together and wasn’t as funny as they usually are (imo).

    • Some questlines are funnier than others. I enjoyed this one if only for the continuation of Krusty and Penelope’s relationship plus the attention to Krustyland.
