Well…Black Friday has come and gone and Gil is still sticking around! Why? Well because today is Cyber Monday, and what better way to get the holiday season going than with Ole’ Gil taking a bunch of your donuts!
So what’s he offering this time? Well…for a limited-time (ie today, Monday 12/1, only) you can purchase Truckasaurus! Truckasaurs is a premium decoration for your Springfield.
Now I’m sure you’re wondering…”is this something I should take Gil up on? Or am I better off saving my donuts for something better?” Well…before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this robotic beast to YOUR Springfield!
Decoration: Truckasaurus
Cost: 225 donuts
Size: 12×6
Bonus %: 4.75% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +400
Unique: Yes, only 1 per Springfield.
Pros
-It looks cool
-Animated when tapped
-Offers a nice bonus%
Cons
-HUGE. At 12×6 this thing is MASSIVE! Can be hard to fit into your Springfield
-Doesn’t actually “eat” or crush the car
-Insanely expensive for what it is/does
-Only improves Vanity, one of the easiest Conform-O-Meter requirements to max out
-No character interaction with it. No quests.
Final Thought:
This is basically a less expensive version of the whale. It’s cool to have in Springfield, but it doesn’t do much…and is crazy expensive. While it offers a nice bonus %…it’s hard to see that overcoming just how massive it is. With space tight in many Springfields it can be difficult to find the right space to put Truckasaurus. So in my opinion…unless you have a TON of donuts to burn or you just LOVE Truckasaurus…this one is a pass. With Christmas right around the corner you’re better off saving your donuts for those limited time items then blowing a large chunk of them on this 1 decoration (even if it is cool).
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you this is one I plan on passing on. I don’t own a whale and I don’t need a robot taking up a ton of space in my already crowded Springfield. Just remember…whatever you decide this IS Limited-Time so be sure to make your decision before Gil leaves Springfield on at 0800GMT on Tuesday 12/2!

I got it as soon as it came available!! :). Built an underground garage for it and yes, did have to move a bit of property around to give the Truckasaurus room!! :). An interesting piece to add to our towns!! stepingstair :).
Minimal animation. Snorts fire, but DOESN’T CRUSH car!
I hope the Christmas update won’t be like the Halloween update. Full of returning items and almost no new items. I also hated the way it was in sections, so boring..
I actually prefer it sectioned. So you aren’t done with a month long event in two days and bored to death 30 more days til it goes away. 😉

It it were available on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, I may have gotten it.
If it actually ate or shredded the truck I would be tempted. Also I have no room…..well no room I wish to give up by demolishing my town…..give us more land EA.
I put it on my Squidport next to Planet Hype. Kind of fits.
It looks tempting but 250 sprinkles is too much. Christmas on the other hand now that’s gonna have some good stuff. Also this will come back again one day on a rebate again one day so just wait if you want.

Careful if you are prompted to purchase while in Krustyland. If you place it in Krustyland it will disappear after you go back to your Springfield and then you won’t be able to find it.
I’m a completist so I bought it. My town’s stuffed to the “gills” but with a little rearranging I got it to fit nicely in my sports complex.
I’ll have to pass on this one, not enough room! I wish we could have some more land. I wish we had a choice on these things like you can get it for 250 donuts OR $1, 000,000! That would be cool.
I put him in my Springfield dump. He looks awesome there with all the junk and broken down crap cars.

That’s basically my plan but it’s going to take some doing as my event’s space (my duff stadium and coliseum share a parking lot) is quite tight and is need of renovation. If they let us I’d probably stick this in Krustyland as it would look okay their and would save space. Heck in my ideal tapped out world most holiday items would be Krustyland transferable, as well as all the clash of castles stuff.
Where is lance Murdock in all this, 225 donuts and no Murdock, lame.

Hi does anyone know when the Christmas update is coming ? I hope it social as I really enjoyed last Xmas. I didn’t really enjoy Halloween or Clash of Clones or whatever it was called. I would personally like to see something like Easter with the egg swapping . I adored that update .
Nope no one knows for sure, only EA. But my guess is we’ll see it sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.
Well, I bought it this morning. Looks even more cool when animated. It IS craaazy expensive but I couldn’t pass this one up.

Way too overpriced IMHO as someone who has mostly everything so the Gil rebate was not very appealing except reminding me I could have saved hundreds of donuts lol . This would have been nice in the 80-100 area with a lower bonus since truckasaurus is from one of the most iconic episodes ever. Would have liked EA to throw a bone in the sense that they must have drummed up enough $ from the black friday rebate sale to offer this one at a reasonable cost on ‘cyber’ Monday since that’s supposed to be internet BARGAINS!

This is AWESOME, but there is absolutely no way I’m buying it. I spent quite a few donuts this past weekend (even burned through a gift card I got as a reward bonus from my credit card company). Definitely saving what’s left for Christmas. If it was a lot (and I mean A LOT) cheaper, I might’ve considered it.
Any idea if more of these things are going to pop up this week? I like to be prepared. 🙂

Oh, Truckasaurus, I can quit you. This was something that was very tempting because it was unique, but it does absolutely nothing but take up space. I’m already over 200% payout with all my bonus items, so even that isn’t a draw.
Do you know if you can get it with the Homer Buddha? I’ve had good experiences with that in the past.
No. You cannot. It’s a Gil only item & will be gone in the morning.
I would love to have it and create a “little” area for it but it’s far too expensive for just a decoration with little value.. I personally think the cons out-weigh the pros.
Ugh. Thank Goodness. I have to admit I was a little upset this morning when Gil showed up and offered me this deal. I spent soooo many donuts on the Black Friday deals that I would of had to buy (instead of earn at a very slow rate) a ton of donuts on top of all the other CyberMonday deals I plan on buying today instead of working. But after reading that he is both huge and not constantly animated, I feel better about skipping this one.
