Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. The Valentine’s Day mini event hit our devices last week…what are your thoughts on it? Have you picked up any of the items? The Simpsons are all new tonight, what will happen in the new episode? Will you be watching? The NBA All-star game is on tonight, will you be watching?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, the NBA or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we LOVE hearing from you!
Have Fun! And happy Sunday!

I will post again when the 100 tappers are all at the ball
Thanks Mary Jo you have given me a plan. With 100 tapping tappers and being from different time zones we could have a marathon. I can visualize tappers coming and leaving for 24 hrs a day politely leaving hand shakes as they go.
So thank you old friends you are welcome to come back to join the dance and a special thank you to those already at the ball I will
I was not able to get tappers that are really enthusiastic and tap me everyday. I think at most only fifty of them would visit me. Even though I asked only for crazy players to add me, I still get many who are not so active.
Dianespurr, not sure what u r trying to say. If u r talking about time zones and the handshakes, I figure if people r visiting, then they should appear in my backyard at some time, no matter where they r coming from. I don’t understand people getting a 100 friends, but peter out after visiting half of them, if they visit any at all. It is like going to your ball, I would rather dance with someone, then dance alone. If that is the case, I will just stay home. The people I deleted, I am not replacing. The ones I have left more then make up for them. Guess there r enough people playing that everyone can play the game as they choose. Have fun at your ball. Mary Jo
Has anyone ever gotten a donut from vandalizing a building? Just happened to me tonight. I don’t usually spray paint, either, it was actually an accidental tagging…
I am a happy bunny today! I got 30 donuts in my mystery box! woo hoo!!!
Congrats! That’s enough to get a rocket bike, which has a great multiplier!
I had a mystery box today, too, but mine only had hedges. 🙁
I really don’t understand why I still haven’t gotten the lemon tree… The odds for that aren’t that low!
Thanks, Sandra! Good luck in your next Mystery Box!
After I purchase the Animatrix bear, my donuts drop to zero. Then mystery box give me 10 donuts. I think I encounter this before. If your donut drops to nothing, the game somehow would give you some sweets to hook you back to game.
I had just 4 donuts after I purchased something, and the next mystery box I got had ten donuts in it. You are probably right
Congratulations E. All of my four towns are due for mystery boxes tomorrow….I have nil donuts in my main town, 2 in my b town..and I forget the other two….but will be interesting to see if Sean and Colin are onto something with the donut count.
I have been very naughty today and played a bit in my main town….have a squizzee and let me know what you think please…..of castles and Kamp Krusty area…..got some plans and have put buildings about elsewhere in town but too sore to continue….so will go back to behaving again for a few moments! Lol will eventually get it all organised again.
Cheers dear neighbour…..Julie.
Thanks, Julie! Nice to see you here! Good to know how you are progressing with your healing, so keep on posting, dear neighbour!
Please add me back in your main town, but I do not expect you to go on tapping until you heal completely. Behave, Julie! 🙂
Take care.! …..Elvie
Please make Lard Lad Donuts a free item for Fat Tuesday Week! I am stuck with a Lard Lad Donuts skin in my inventory, I’ve had it since December!
Is there any way to view Bunny’s, Alissa’s, or Wookies Springfields ? I’m very, very interested.
Bunny and Wookiee have both posted screenshots of their towns, I am just behind in getting a full town shot. We’ll have to do a post soon showing our towns..
I was pleased to see that the Valentine’s event was a short one. I recently started another job and my time to play has decreased. I’m worried about the next big event because I can only play once or twice a day. It took me until the last minute to get all the prizes in the events before so I’ll never complete the events with the new hectic work schedules. Any thoughts on if it’s worth playing the big events with such limited play time (and refusing to use donuts to help)?
So no real point to this other than I see Julie posting here. I regretfully dropped (one of) your towns when you said you had to leave the game. I don’t know if you’re back to playing (hopefully so), but if you ever want me back as a neighbor just send me a request. I’ll gladly accept. Hope all is well with you. 😊l
Hey Idoji…I’m not playing at present dear neighbour…my grandson goes in and clears for me…but I most certainly have your ID in my little black book to send request to when I am able to get back onto the game. Thank you for your comments…I appreciate them. Will update next week with regards details of dr’s visit…I’m hoping he has a magic wand…but I’m kinda not holding my breath on it! Lol
Cheers, Julie.
Same here, Julie.
What is your general opinion of house / kwiki mart farms? Now that I have 100 neighbors AND need cash I am tempted to have a farm section off to the side to leave uncollected by me for my always have something to tap on but I’m not sure. Thoughts?
*so my neighbors always have…
I hate them, but that’s me. It’s your game, play how you like as long as you enjoy it. I like to keep my Springfield a little more realistic. I leave the farming to Cletus and his tomaccos, moonshine, and triffids and such, not houses and Kwik-E-Marts. I do have multiple houses and a couple Kwik-E-Marts, but they are not arranged in “farms” or crops. They just look like residential housing (with trees, backyards, fences, bushes, etc.).
I told myself when I accumulated 10 million in game cash, I would get rid of my white house farm that was tucked up beyond the river, and that’s what I did this weekend. I keep looking at my 30 houses in storage, and sigh, “That’s $20,000 a day I’m losing,” but, you’re right, if you want a nice looking Springfield, the farms don’t fit. (I hope I don’t cave, and pull them out someday when I need more land.)
I’m a bit jaded after the Clash of Clones event when visiting so many different Springfield towns and seeing so many “house farms” and/or “Kwik-E-Mart farms” with them all stacked up against each other in an amassed lot of all the same type of house. No roads, no foliage, no design, no thought. Ugh. As I said, it’s one thing to have many houses generating an income, but make them look like an actual town, as if actual people are living in them.
“Janis, really, you will never go hungry again” – LOL!!
my general opinion on house farms is that if you need to generate lots of cash relatively quick (and unless your game is maxed out with all map tiles and aspirational buildings, who doesn’t?), DO NOT be afraid or ashamed to sport a house farm in your town. i’ve always tried to keep my town as realistic looking as possible, and held out for a long time before i finally decided to build up a blue house farm tucked into the top corner of my town. now that i’ve done it, i don’t regret it at all, nor do i think it detracts from my town in any meaningful way. i use it strictly for generating income though, not for neighbors to click on… then again, i don’t have close to 100 neighbors. i do keep out some brown houses for the 25 or so neighbors that i do have, just in case. as for kwik-e-marts, i only have enough extra of those to boost my consumerism up to 5 stars, and i’m aiming to for no extra ones by continuing to add buildings that add to consumerism.
If your goal is to generate income, then having the full 100 neighbors is a GREAT way to do that! Once you max out your FPs, you get *triple* the amount of $$ and XP from visiting neighbors, plus the chance to collect free donuts! (If you visit all 100 neighbors a day, it’s common to get 1 or 2 donuts a day, or more (though sometimes none).)
Personally, I’d rather visit neighbors than farm houses – besides the advantages I already mentioned, it’s interesting to see the different towns and get ideas that I can use for my own town, too. 🙂
@sandra
my goal is to generate income without having to spend tons of time doing it. i could not imagine clicking on 100 different neighbors’ towns every single day… how much time does it take you to do that?? even with just 25, it takes me more time than i’d like, but i make sure to do it every day that i can. i got 2 young kids and a full time job, so any free time i have for tapping i wanna use for designing my town, which is main reason i enjoy playing this game.
i’ve already maxed out my friendship prizes, and i’ve considered adding more neighbors, but ONLY for the possibility of donuts. i also enjoy visiting my neighbor towns, and sometimes end up spending several minutes looking at various designs… but that just adds to the significant amount of time it takes to visit neighbors. can i ask you, how much money do you make per day tapping all your neighbors?
I did that. I had 60+ white houses tucked above a wide river. Like I posted above, once I reached 10 million in game cash, I had to say to myself, “Janis, really, you will never go hungry again,” and so I am now like the towns I used to envy. Once you get ahead, money wise, you have absolute freedom.
Okay, I did some calculations to answer your question, tape….
Assuming that I have a full 100 neighbors (or, rather, 99 plus Other Springfield, so I may have slightly underestimated) and that all of them having three tappable things (not including Krustyland), I earn $43,500 and 3,100XP per day from visiting. (The one thing I’m not sure of is whether my bonus multiplier applies to the $$ that I get from visiting neighbors, but I’m only around 35%, so, compared to other max level folks, I don’t think this is giving me a big advantage, if it does apply.)
As for the time it takes… I actually have my visiting times somewhat staggered, so it’s not like I have to go through all 100 at once. And, when I am visiting, it’s usually while I’m watching TV or talking to someone on the phone or something, so the time spent isn’t really a big deal for me. If I’m in a hurry, I’ll just tap the first three available things I see; otherwise, I try to look for things that would be advantageous to my neighbor for me to tap (like a long-term building or lemon tree) or that just catches my fancy.
Hope this helps! 🙂
@janis
thank you for the friend request, love what you’ve done to your town! like you, once i get to where i want to be in this game money-wise after buying all the map tiles and aspirational buildings i desire (mainly the fortress of choclitude for its consumerism), i intend to remove the farm, clearing many more map tiles for development. 🙂
@sandra
thank you for taking the time to calculate that for me! i very much appreciate the input… even though i don’t think i’ll be pursuing that route. 🙂 if the bonus multiplier doesn’t apply to collection of neighbor towns, then that is yet another reason to go the way of the house farm. my multiplier is just over 60%, and i generate almost $58k every 8 hours.
for freemo players such as ourselves, donuts are a scare and highly prized commodity. while i genuinely want to add 100 neighbors for a higher chance at donuts, i’d feel bad doing that if i can’t commit to tapping each town every day. an alternative to this is free donut farming, but it requires huge sums of money to accomplish. thus, you more than likely would need a house farm for this. for more info on free donut farming, here’s wookiee excellent post on the subject:
http://tstoaddicts.com/2014/05/27/farming-for-free-donuts/
I hate house farms, but I also hate visiting friends and having nothing to tap on. I have 100 friends and found that 15 tappable locations were almost always enough to last my town an hour and not run out. Any longer than this and my other buildings would start to regen, making more tapable things so I would never run out. So, I made a little section with 15 houses that I never collect (see below) unless visited. I started this around new year, I am hoping my neighbours have noticed 🙂
https://www.dropbox.com/s/jqx6rvmmcj7jv6h/Photo%2016-02-2015%2023%2022%2008.png?dl=0
I avoid tapping on my neighbors house farms. I think they look silly. For a few minutes work at max FP I get around $30K for tapping neighbors. I also bought just enough premium items to get a 50% bonus on my buildings. So I tap mist of them and leave 10-15 open for neighbors to tap
it only takes you a few minutes to tap 100 neighbors? or how many neighbors are you tapping on to get 30k?
I’m quite new to the game (started early Oct 14) and was desperate to progress as quickly as I could. To do that I needed cash so built a small farm of blue houses (although I arranged it so it sort of looked like streets).
Then at some point my income needed another boost so I replaced my road spaces with yet more blue houses. Probably up to about 60.
Now I’ve caught up (lvl 49 finished) and am just saving money and buying land whenever I can. When I buy land I spread my blue houses around and try to make residential areas.
I still have way too many blue houses, I aspire to have my streets full of different housing, and will replace them when I can, but for now I’m making a compromise between my Springfield looking the best it can and maximising my income. I think when I’ve bought all the land there is then I will get rid of at least half my houses, but give every remaining house a garden or try to make a ‘real town’ look.
So, I can see the point of house farms, but I don’t much like them, even though I ‘sort of’ have one. I have a few neighbours with house farms that they never seem to collect the money from – that is something I don’t see the point of.
As for Kwik-E-Mart farms, no, I don’t see the point of them at all. I have had to buy a lot of KEMs to max out my Conform-O-Meter rating (the need to maximise my income drove that decision) but I’ve done my best to hide them or spread them around. Some of them are not very well hidden but I’d still rather have that than a farm of ugly, low-income generating buildings. Having them (and several brown houses that I also never collect on) also has the benefit that there are always buildings for my neighbours to tap.
I think it’s down to the individual how they want to play the game, but for me it’s important to have a realistic looking town, I simply wouldn’t enjoy playing the game if my Springfield were just blocks and blocks of the same things. But not everybody is like me, which is almost certainly a very good thing!
Sorry for the long post, I have this delusion that other people care about my opinions as much as I do!
I dislike house or Kwik-E-Mart farms and have never needed them. I have over 7 million dollars saved up (which is more than enough to get whatever I need for a new-level building, to decorate my town, and to stock up on limited-time freemium items, like Stonecutters fences or Valentine’s Day planters). I like to keep my Springfield reasonably realistic-looking. I also don’t expand it at a furious rate. I see no need to buy out all of the available land at once – it’s rather buy it as I need it. (Which has the added advantage of the possibility of lower cost, as they tend to reduce the cost of old lands when they add new land, I think.) Since I pay mostly freemium, I don’t have huge numbers of buildings and prefer to keep my town on the “compact” (but not squished!) side, which makes it easier for me to find people and things that I need to tap on.
So, if you want to farm buildings, do as you like…it’s a game and people should play it however they want (as long as it’s legal and not offensive). But don’t let anyone convince you that it’s necessary to do that in order to have enough in-game cash to successfully play the game (I guess unless you really aspire to having all of those big “aspirational” buildings, which I think look out of place anyway, personally).
Someone help me I’m freezing my ass.
Well get out of the snow silly…
I’m inside. That is the sad part.
Ha ha! You are funny Alissa and I like it! Aside from playing Tapped Out, I also find enjoyment in reading comments here on Open Thread! 🙂
Well thank you 🙂
If your donkey is freezing, put him in the barn!
Well, if you’ve broken him down into steaks, then the key thing is to use some good butcher’s paper and fold it tight before taping it and then putting them in good-quality freezer bags.
Does that help?
Etamni and Sandra…you have me laughing so hard!! Lol
Pureval….I will send you some of my lovely warm sunny Australian weather…but I expect you to return post some of your cool!! Fair trade! Lol
Julie – I have over 7 feet of snow here that you’re welcome to help yourself to…as much as you want, free!!
@Sandra: Our ski resorts out west would welcome some of that snow you have — peeps are skiing on rocks and sand more than on snow right now, and not liking it. One person was suggesting a giant conveyor belt to transport all that unwanted snow out here so they could ski on it!
etamni – Get that person to start a Kickstarter campaign for the conveyor belt idea and I’ll be the first to contribute to it!
My bedroom ceiling is now leaking from an ice dam – damn! 🙁
Oh no!
Is that line preceded by “Buy me a beer, two bucks a glass”?
I’ll buy you a beer , two bucks a glass.
So, I love parade floats, I might be the only on lol, and wanted a “storage” place to put all of mine in and still be on display, so I kinda built a warehouse attempting 3D for the first time. However, the concrete walls I used as “metal” don’t really allow for a bottom left side with the chain fences I was using to make it more like metal. Plus it’s a cut in vision type thing and looking at it almost defies the purpose. Any thoughts?
I didn’t know where to put this, and thought an open thread was a nice place.
This is the correct place for a question like this. I’m not sure of the answer for you, though…. Why not just set up a parade with all of them — use pavement instead of a street so that they can sit on top of it. Add some cars, balloons, popsicle-stick motorcycles, etc. and you’ll have a parade in no time!
Maybe some people can’t visit or have a hard time visiting because of constant crashes in their games. As soon as they fixed visiting it my game, they release a patch and screw it up again. I really gave up on visiting neighbors because for every few house, I am kicked out of my game, I have to reload it, and then start over on some of the houses I just did. U stopped caring about trying to get every prize and I no longer spend money on the game.
Lol I’ve thought about making a parade, and it is my goal. I even had one set up during Christmas, but I still need to generate income and buy land. Eventually I’ll have the perfect parade lol
I created little seasonal sections in my Springfield. I have my floats and balloons in the Thanksgiving corner of town, right outside costingtons, lined up on pavement like its a costingtons Thanksgiving day parade. The next part of town nearby is, of course, where all the Treehouse of horror populace lives…
I have a holiday strip of land that I want to make, a parade is probably going to happen right in front lol I thought about making a Thanksgiving section, but I only have the table, stomach staples center, and the cornucopia to put in it, once I get more a section is bound to happen
My answer to people who do not visit their neighbors. I had one town that had very few handshakes and found that only 56 people were visiting out of a 100. I kept track for a week and the ones that didn’t have time or do not enjoy visiting, I dropped them. To me, it is like sex, it should be enjoyed by both parties. Mary Jo
I don’t want to be the only one doing all the work. Mary Jo
Amen, sister!
Oh MARY Jo…I love your analogy!! Love you precious lady…will write you this week!! Promise!
Love and laughter as always, Julie.
My goal in both is to make the other person enjoy it more than I do. Then I will be invited back again.
Dilemma… I have about 70 days left on corn with the help of witch marge but need to grow tomacco for Brandine. Do I store and start over or do I wait it out?
Hi, I read here last week about speeding up corn when u need the field for a quest. I had corn growing before this came up, but do not know how to speed it up. When I put it into my inventory, it frees the field, but when I start the corn again, it begins at the beginning, and not where it was when I stored it. I would appreciate any help u can give me. Thks. Mary Jo
Storing your corn will only cancel the task, not speed it up. What I was talking about a couple of weeks ago is there are times when events hit that require you to use Cletus’ farm. Like Valentine’s Day last year & Easter. When that happens & your progress in the event is relying on you completing what’s growing at the farm..then it’ll auto complete the corn for you. However, this event did not do that. So there was no auto complete.
Thank you, Alissa. I will store all my corn fields and complete the task. I have several towns that r growing corn and was waiting for your reply. Mary Jo
No worries!
Where from? Toronto Canada
Love this site and its moderators
I check in here as often as I do the game. I would like to know what other tappers do when they know friends are no longer coming to visit I have some great friends coming every day and I play every day but others I haven’t seen since Christmas do other tappers drop them or wait for the next big event when everyone comes back to town
I usually drop neighbors when they neglect their own town and there is nothing for me to tap when I visit.
So I’m one of these ppl… It’s funny but im can’t make it past 30-40 friends before I get bored… So if your name is past j or k I’m liked not getting to you… I know it’s terrible but it’s always a-z
Cloy – if you’re not going to visit all of your neighbours, then how about at least switching up where in the alphabet you start? Maybe you could go z-a sometimes, or even start in the middle? If you want to start at the end of the alphabet, just go into your Other Springfield and then tap on the left arrow near the top left to go backwards from there.
I don’t think I’m one of your neighbors, but, as someone whose name starts with an S, I don’t think your procedure is very fair.
Unless I know them from here or something, or unless there’s a big technical issue making it hard for lots of folks to log in (like we had with the Christmas event), I drop inactive players relatively quickly. There’s no shortage of people looking to be added, so why put up with someone who couldn’t be bothered?
I agree. Mary Jo
Normally, three weeks of not playing (and with nothing to tap in their town) is enough for me to drop someone. If I run out of things to tap sooner than three weeks, I hide them for awhile and check back later to see if they have become active again.
Exceptions: 1) If they spell out in their town that they are on vacation or unable to tap, I’ll wait longer. Also if they’ve posted something here on TSTOaddicts.com in the “away from my game” section, then I’ll go by that posting. 2) If I know them personally, I’ll find out what the deal is before dropping them. If I chat with them here on this site or elsewhere, I’ll treat that as knowing them personally. 3) If they stop playing at the start of religious holidays or events, I’ll wait until the end of that holiday or event in case it was a conflict for them to play at that time. (E.g. people who don’t celebrate Christmas or Easter who don’t want to play during those events, or people who celebrate holidays not recognized by EA who stop playing so they can focus on their own religion during that time.)
I give two weeks. I take vacations and occasionally out of the country so I don’t necessarily have access to the game, so I give that wiggle room. But more than two weeks? Nope.
Sometimes life gets in the way. .. I appreciate that for some neighborinos things get too busy to tap, two weeks for me unless I know otherwise (such as mates made here :).
I have been guilty of this myself lately, circumstances have thwarted my tapability and also comments here.
This weekend I’ve seen trailers for the Simpsons special of Mythbusters on Discovery Channel. It’s the Raiders of the Lost Ark episode this Wednesday.
No idea about NBA but this was the second weekend of the 6 Nations – well done to the England team, I’m not expecting a grandslam (although that would be nice)
Can I just apologise to hng3 please? Really sorry babe but you r a bit faulty on my game. It just keeps locking up and freezing the whole game whenever I try to visit you so after 3 days I have 2 bid you farewell. Sorry. No hard feelings. You were good neighbour. Good luck for future 😃
I had a neighbor like that — it resolved itself in a few days. Odds are that your neighbor is having trouble getting into the game as well, and is waiting on EA for a fix. With the neighbor I had, if I went directly into KL (by clicking on the KL image on the friends screen), I could access the other player’s KL and tap three items there, then go to the next neighbor from there.
Am I the only one alienated by the price of donuts? For the first time since I started playing last March or April, I’ve been really tempted to buy some donuts so I can get mindy, brandine and up up and buffet, but when I translate it to real cost, I can’t justify having to pay £14.99 for two of those three! I could see myself making the transition from freemium to premium if it were more economical, but alas, it is not 🙁
(As I type this I have the episode with minds, zutroy and Stuart playing in the background!)
Anyway, that’s my two cents, and I’m wondering if anyone else feels the same way.
My perspective. Think about how much you pay for other entertainment. How many hours of enjoyment do you get from TSTO? Paying for some things you really want is also insuring that this game you enjoy will continue. They have to make revenue. £14.99 for how many, many hours of fun have you had and will you have with this game?
Just get the things you REALLY want. Also focusing on a prize and collecting free donuts makes the prize more valuable once won.
No, you are not the only one alienated by the price of donuts!
You are not alone. The prices are high. I chose Brandine out of those three and won’t be getting the other two.
Bangles! Thank you for “neighboring” me – I think it was based on my comment about being into design, then I saw your Springfield, and was truly humbled. My house farms are gone. I’m trying…but in the meantime, I so appreciate getting to visit your town and get ideas!
I feel the same way, I can’t justify the cost even though I really want some of the premium characters.
browsing the comments of the meet the addicts post, i couldn’t help but notice all the different nationalities of people that frequent this site and play tapped out. so, i was just curious…. where is everybody from?? or, where are you from, but where do you live now? anybody playing in japan?
i proudly tap out in america’s finest city, where i was born and raised. that would be san diego, ca for those of you that don’t know… 🙂
I’m originally from a small town near Ottawa, Canada, but am now living in London, UK
Glad to meet another San Diegan (although I am not a native, but have lived here for over 22 years. My husband was born and raised here; does that count?). Enjoying the game and the beautiful weather.
Originally from NYC, but have been living in Massachusetts for about 35 years now.
I am in Central Queensland (the pointy bit on the right side) Australia where it is nice and warm and sunny at present.
Cheers, Julie
Born and raised in central NJ right outside New Brunswick then moved to north eastern MD when my husband was relocated. Alas I don’t think I’ll be able to get to the meet up but still hoping.
I’m in the Netherlands. Born and raised. It’s fun to see that this is such an international site 🙂
Oops…”was” fun
I enjoy this tiny “event”! It has been a lot of really time consuming events lately so this is nice.
And I still would like to see a bunch of 23 hours long tasks for everyone! That would help a lot if you are a once-a-day kind of tapper (I wish I was…).
The little Valentine’s event we fun. Picked up a few goodies. I was really hoping for Shauna but not worried, EA will bring her back. Wondering what might pop up for Presidents Day tomorrow! Also can’t wait for level 50! I think it’s going to a big celebration level!
One of my neighbors gets credit for this (thanks Craig) — spelling out “ez-tap” and adding an arrow (in the landing area) that points to buildings left untapped really makes it easy for neighbors who visit. Anyone with lots of neighbors knows that the process of visiting everyone can feel like it’s taking forever, especially when tappable buildings aren’t readily obvious and a search is required to locate something to tap. Knowing the right direction to look in is really helpful.
And now my other topics…. 🙂
Masthead: The new masthead and the cartoon versions of the addicts team look really awesome (although I’m not sure I was ready for a “Cupid” version of Wookiee!). 😉 Anyway, I can’t wait to see what else your artist has done!
@Julie — Hope you are healing. I want you to know that I’ve hidden your cities until you are back, but I won’t remove them.
Meet and Greet — I hope your little get-together is a smash hit! I’m really looking forward to something farther west. So-Cal might almost be too far away also, but somewhere close to your PO box, or a bit north of that would be perfect!
:burrito:
Hey Etamni…I am trying so hard to behave myself and allow me to heal, but I am my own worse enemy….guess who….not naming the stupid woman who did…..slammed her favourite tapping finger in the cupboard door while she was in a hurry last night?? Stupid stupid woman! Now I have….er……I mean…..SHE has a beautifully bruised nail and tip of my…I mean….HER finger! And on the left hand at that….more nerve damage!! Lol Talk about self destructive!! Lol.
Thank you for letting me know you have me hidden. I put outsome stuff yesterday as Jamie says a lot of people are still visiting and I got a huge fit of guilt that there is little to tap on, so we refilled KL in a big jumble and then put out some stuff in SF for tappers.
I’m wondering if I can convince Jamie to tap on neighbours so as to collect any nice little donuts that may be hidden there.
Last week, we went down town and he wanted to head to the bakery for a pie, so I said…well grab me a chicken and salad roll please…..he came back with a huge smile on his face and said….no chicken rolls but I got you something I know you want heaps of!!….I opened the bag and therein was a lovely donut with pink icing and sprinkles!! What a healthy lunch!! Lol not sure EA would accept it as payment for anything but it certainly had me laughing at that grandson of mine!
Thank you for remembering me.
Cheers dear, Julie.
Julie, after posting my previous comment, I discovered that your accounts had been played within just a couple hours, so I un-hid them and peeked, and saw your messages about KL….
Now, your doctor called me and said you’re not supposed to be tapping…. Said something about confiscating all of your tapping devices and putting your entire hands in solid casts if you don’t follow doctor’s orders!
…So I told the doctor you are an addict and then hung up the phone! Heh heh heh! 🙂 :burrito:
Julie you are one of my neighbors too…after reading your post last week I also opted to hide you. If you really can convince someone to be your “substitute tapper” that would be best! I’ll take you out of hiding. Can’t imagine what it must be like to have a hand injury…I’m a musician, knitter, smocker…basically use my hands constantly, so I can imagine how hard it is to do nothing! Hang in there and hope to see you back and beautifully healed!
Thanks, etamni. It was idea I had when I noticed that when you open up a neighboreeno, it always opens at the same place. I figured it out that it is always in the dead center of your Springfield (except for special events like Christmas when it opened on the Elf Tunnel). So, I cleared out where that was on my town and added the directions to my house and Kwik-e-Mart farm. That way my visiting neighboreenos can get in and get out faster and not have to search or even accidently hit a spray can. Of course, some still like to see the town as I get taps on a lot of buildings, including Krustyland.
I try to hit every neighboreeno every day. With over 96, sometimes it takes almost a full hour.
I’ve often wished for a collect all button when I’m busy, but then the fun is in the tapping right? Lol I guess if we had the button we could choose to use it or not! I’ve just started a new Springfield on my android phone (I usually tap on iPad) – it’s an experiment – I’ve given in to donut buying temptation several times on my main game – with the new one I’m being strictly freenium just to see how far I get….I wonder if it will last! I’d forgotten how tricky it is in the early days when you’ve got no $ and have to wait to build the next building….
It’s not hard, just frustrating sometimes. I recently read that, as of the end of their 3rd quarter (last fall), EA had made over $130 million on this game — it seems like they could drop the prices a bit and make the game more reachable for those without deep pockets. By “dropping the prices” I don’t mean changing the cost of buying donuts for cash, but reducing the donut cost of premium items, thus making more of those items available. But they are a for-profit company and they will continue to charge what the market will bear.
Meanwhile, I’m thinking of directing my 401(k) to invest in EA — then I’ll ask for my dividends in donuts! I wonder if that would be a taxable transaction? Would the government take virtual donuts as payment? LOL
I am happy it’s a small update. I bought Up Up & Buffet and Mindy.
I agree that there should be a collect all button.
I think Radioactive Man will show up!
Question for all my tapperones out there, does it bother you to have neighbors that play the game by hacking? Do you keep them as your neighbor or do u unfriend them? I’m kinda bias on this. I have a few and I know they hack… Example 50 green trash cans, 30 heart hammocks, 15 whales.
I don’t like hacked gamers. They usually are not enthusiastic about visiting friends unless the event calls for it. If they did not visit me for a long time I may unfriendly them.
That does sound like they cheated somehow — I do know that some players have more money than sense, and I’ve seen neighbors with two whales, but that’s kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
As for unfriending someone, do they visit regularly and tap your buildings? Do they leave buildings for you to tap in their city. I’d base the decision on how they are as a neighbor since, unless they use shrubs and flowers to spell out how to cheat, you don’t have proof, just a strong (and probably correct) belief that it is likely.
I have one cheater in my game and I only keep him/her so I can see what some donut items look like in the game. For instance the bears playing violin. Because he/she has everything. ( 9 whales )
I did the same thing with the one I had among my neighbors. Anytime there was a new premium item, all I need to do is visit his Springfield to see what it looked like and how it worked. But that person stopped playing a few months ago. I assume he got bored with having everything and it left no challenge for him anymore.
Thanks for everyone’s opinion…well I am done with the V-event. I was hoping to get a building or a character out of it 😤
Maybe an Oscar mini-event? After all, the stonecutters do rig every Oscar night…

Who else thinks that a superhero update is coming up? I’m crossing my fingers!
Do you wonder if the real superhero (not the Milhouse skin) will be free? He’ll probably cost doughnuts or come with an expensive lair. Or worse, he will not even be in the game, just in the dialogue. I just hope he will not cost doughnuts, because I’m a freemium player and I have only one doughnut anyway. So, fingers crossed!
He will not free I supposed. EA is marketing him now to prep us to get ready our donuts ha.
A comic con themed event would be great. You could have certain characters (kids, cb guy, homer) go on tasks to collect bags of swag at a convention center. The contents of the bags could be used to make items, similar to the trick or treating during Halloween.
It would be a great event for new skins. Maybe Pie Man? Bartman?
I would love to see a “Collect all” button – this would really help everyone with big towns
Yes. Sort of like the bell with the elves and their presents during the Winter 2014 event. Or the 20 sided dice from the Clash of Clones event. Actually if it was just limited to tapping all the completed tasks of the characters in own our town that would be good. I don’t mind collecting rent from buildings as much.
I didn’t used to think so but now that I have a big town, yeah!!!
while i would love the idea, they might have to change the name of the game from tapped out to tap one…
I feel they purposely do not want us to have this button so that harvesting is difficult. This will entice us to just spend to get the donuts.
I’ve thought about this…it would be nice if they broke it out into categories. For example, collect all houses, collect all restaurants etc. I know there are those players who like to keep certain buildings free for neighbors to tap. So if you want to actually collect ALL, it might be six or eight taps but MUCH better than scrolling around your town tapping each individual building and character.
Perhaps even more time consuming is sending all the characters out on tasks. It would be nice if there was a feature to send all available characters on a 1 hour task, or a 4 hour task, etc. I know there are a few characters that may not have a task in a particular hour denomination (time slot). Perhaps those would go to the next closest task available to them. I think I would appreciate this ability even more than a “collect all” function.
