That was very interesting, Sliq! If “med” is essentially “birth” in Norwegian, I wonder if that’s the source (or shares a common source) of the “mid” part of the word “midwife”?
When I was a kid (maybe somewhere around 8 or 9?), I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said, “an etymologist.” I’ve always loved words…maybe that’s why I use so many of them, lol!! 😉
