Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. A new video was released by FOX about Homer and Marge..and addressing the “rumors” (you can check it out below), what do you think of it? Level 54 hit our devices this past week, what are your thoughts on the additions? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Giants at the Dodgers, will you be watching? It’s Father’s Day here in the US, did you do anything special/fun with your Father, father of your children, etc?

What was the point of the whole Quimby/pool storyline? You upgraded the pool 2x and that’s it?

I sent a message the TSTOaddictsblog, haven’t received a response. I’m sure you’re busy but I’m curious if anyone else had this or similar problem:
I bought the Squeaky Voiced Teen long ago and use him in my Springfield than weeks or months later I won him or bought Golden Homer – I don’t remember (Like I said: long time ago). And now I have Him both in my Springfield and stuck in my storage box (can’t get the other out nor can delete it).
I would post the image but apparently I don’t know how to do that here in the comments 😮
Anyway not sure if I should keep living with it, or notify EA? (I don’t want to loose both).
I would notify, I think if you have SVT and you pull him in a Mistery Box/Homer Buddha you get 30 dinuts instead. Maybe EA will refund you your donuts.
I have unsuccessfully tried to have them remove the duplicate SVT from my inventory in the past years. I’m afraid we will have to live with that.
At this point I really can’t do much with my town. Do they just want us to have roads and houses/stores and not both with design? If they don’t give land there isn’t any point in giving us new players and buildings. Hear anything about this?
My son’s little league team won the town championship yesterday, (11-5) after an awesome season.
My Father’s day was ok. Spent a half hour or so with the kids/my dad before going to work. Work was horrible. But I did get 30 donuts from my Mystery Box today. Nice gift.
I am loving this level. No spoilers but I love Homer’s idea to fight and Mr. Burns reaction. I just wish it was a visual task.
I got Splatoon for the Wii U for my birthday 2 weeks ago. So addictive. So much fun. My NNID is the same as here if anyone wants to add me to play (I hope that doesn’t violate any rules of the site. If so I apologize.)
I am really curious, why won’t they ever bring the Mapple store back? Were they threatened with a law suit or something?
Anyone else find that they are unwilling to spend donuts on the regular premium characters? Since they will be around forever there is no rush and I always end up saving my donuts for some limited time thing.

Perfect timing, too good not to share..
I was putting away groceries while my kids were arguing over something trivial in the next room. That’s when a visitor stopped by (in the game) and I heard Homer’s “Better put on pants!” routine. Timed perfectly, as if responding to Homer’s comment, I heard, “Aww, I don’t want to!!!”
A friend of mine heard that alert when he was dropping me off at home. It was simply because my tablet had come into range of my WiFi, but he thought I had some super-slick way of being notified when someone pulled into the driveway. Not kidding. 🙂
Hahaha – ok that is pretty funny. You totally should have rolled with it and been all like “oh yeah, homer knows everything that goes on around here, he can even release the hounds if someone tries to break in”

Just randomly rewatched Pranksta Rap episode and a level based on this would be awesome – Alcatraz, his mansion, some “pimped out wheels”.. Also Bart and Skinner skins from the episode for premium players..
Saw Jurrasic World today. Decent. I still like Mad Max better.
Saw “Inside Out” with my parents – we all cried at the ending. I recommend it – though some of the logistics I wish we’re done a little differently, still good flick.

We watched Inside Out this weekend too and I cried the whole time. There were a few things I wasn’t crazy about but overall it just made me tear up repeatedly. Growing up is hard and that little girl made me worry about my babies.
I saw that yesterday with the family. My nine year old leaned over to me and whispered “This is sad”. If you sit through the end credits it says, “This film is dedicated to our kids. Please don’t grow up, ever. ”
Yeah that made me tear up.
Happy Fathers Day! My hubby is on the golf course enjoying his day and I hope all you fathers are doing something you enjoy too!
I’ll be on holidays starting June 23 – July 5th. Tuesday I won’t be able to log on until late so not sure I will until the next day. I’ll try to log in and at least clear my town but my visits will be limited for that time period.

Brandine is about to birth #1 & I’m considering nuking my town. ..but I don’t want to nuke & immediately get caught in an “event”. I’m going to need some time to get at least some things in order before event hits. …any idea if a big event is soon or do I have a few weeks? (I’m talking twillegers/coc size, not level ups. .think I can handle those)

I am at “A Perfectly Cromulent Job” quest line, and I got very amused when the line reached “Make Springfielders Shop Till You Drop”, because I could send Radioactive Man, and Fallout Boy, and even members of Terwilliger family (except Cecil), and imagining about what they “Shop”, then the Apu’s catchphrase, Thank you never come again!, then another Shop Till You Drop round, and then Snake came in, and surprised by the emptiness of the store, then stole Apu’s pants.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads. We’re enjoying a lazy day inside with the AC on and watching The Simpsons marathon on FXX. 🙂 Anybody else excited for the new season of True Detectives to start tonight?
When the new update hits this week, I’m really hoping for a land expansion. I’m really running out of room.
I hope for a new event soon. Also id like to get Brockman mansion, Burns casino and other stuff related to some of our main characters
I would also like to add that I’m about reading to drop the family guy game. Too many issues and almost impossible to feel included if u play as a freemium player. Unlike the Simpsons tapped out there is way!!!! More incentive to play and it’s overall just awesome.

Family Guy has never done it for me, overly crass, and the constant cutaways, or wherever you call them break up the momentum of any scene. Plus they are too mean to meg. I liked the crossover, but if only she could have kept the saxophone.
This. Not a fan of family guy. I even hated the crossover Simpsons episode. On the rare occasions when a joke is funny, it’s about a five-second laugh but the animators choose to drag it out for five minutes for some unknown reason. Then I’m left thinking, “Enough already, move on!” They do not understand comedic timing, in addition to everything mentioned above.
I’m in the same boat, although I like Family Guy as a show very much, even more so than The Simpsons. To me the Simpsons have mostly so-so episodes lately, but Family Guy has had a pretty constant and high quality (if you like the show) in the past years. But TSTO is so much better than TQFS, not only in terms of quality, but also general game design, storylines, premium character re-use… TinyCo is nowhere near that.
Gave up on FGTQFS about two months ago, too many glitches, issues with reload, battles with support, have it installed and started playing on their second day as committed as TSTO, but they’re gameplay is truely woeful, many overpaid techs not doing their job!

Happy Father’s Day all the fathers. Hope yall get spoilt today..
No!! My last task in my task bar finished today:(…..What am I supposed to do now :/ lol.
Some random task will be along shortly. Personally, I like it when my to-do lists – in real life and in TSTO – are non-existent every now and again.
Just a few things i think need to be added to the game.
We need Russ Cargill, president Schwarzenegger, lisas boyfriend from the movie and a Shelbyville sign.
There should also be a small area like krustyland for shelbyville. Its shocking that the rival town next door gets no mention In this game.
They should also include the red blazer realty building, gil as a playable character, homers half brother and his car factory, an actual lake Springfield with a floating crap silo and itchy and scratchy npcs that run around trying to kill each other. The animations would be hilarious.
Also, they need to add friend levels more often. They should just add one with each new regular level.
I’m okay with most of your suggestions except the last one…more friend prizes would get in the way of the chances to earn free donuts!
I’m in, except I’d like Lisa’s faux Hugh Grant boyfriend. Although that would probably work better with the “Days of Future Future” update that someone once suggested.
Hoping for an App Store Update on Tuesday. It could be a summer themed Event. Maybe an Expansion. I say the trend continues and we get an App Store Update this week (hopefully :D)
It is June 21 folks. The next event is fourth of July, my bet. Small event and then maybe a lull and something bigger through say Augusto. Lull. Halloween. Lull. Thanksgiving. Lull. Christmas. New years.
We’ve seen them skip Easter this year and only a brief Valentine’s, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose to skip 4th of July after two years in a row.
They did Easter, it was minor. They’ll bring back the 4th…too many chances for people to spend donuts on old items.
Had to drop family guy game, had enough. On the positive side can now spend even more on the best game of its kind TSTO yay, and cannot see any chance of moving away 😊😀😁 cannot wait until the next update. Great post Tapebelt love it. 😂

So a question a bit technical, if someone vandalizes my buildings and I keep them like that, instead of cleaning like normally, Do I lose points just the first time, or everytime I log in? Because I’m kinda tired of some poeple vandalizing (vibloch and MrDursk I’m looking at you -_-!!) and me cleaning everytime, so I better keep them dirty and avoiding other people tagging them too and lose some points, instead of cleaning them everytime.

@yata have you used training walls? Putting enough(10-20) up will always keep yr rating at 5 stars. And if it does go down put up training walls up for a little while and take them down when the rating stays up. You can also hide them behind big buildings. Search on this site about it and get the info. I used to get bothered when I got vandalized but no more. Thanx and have fun.
From what I’ve read, they will continue to decrease your righteousness (and you won’t get the points for cleaning them), so that’s not a good strategy.
Best strategy is to hide a bunch of training walls around your town and then you don’t have to worry whether people graffiti you or not.
Best is dumping those neighbors after you vandals them back. Anyone vandalized me, I got em equal. 3/3 2/2 whatever. Except for my neighbor who gets four friend actions. I hit him 3/4.
How generous, Expatrie! I look at being tagged as a way to earn money and XP from buildings that don’t offer any otherwise. With my training walls, I don’t worry about my Righteousness rating, so I’m happy to be “vandalized,” especially if there’s none of my long-time buildings available to tap. I’d certainly rather be tagged than have someone “waste” a tap on my TV/radio stations or Cletsus’ farm!
Expatrie – I am under the impression that if we vandalised others , out righteousness will also be affected. So an eye for an eye may not be sound.
The question is, did the OP get these neighbors from the no vandalism request thread? If so I think he has every reason to expect not to be vandalized, and he should get new neighbors. If not, sorry my friend but it is part of the game. Either way, seriously consider the training walls. I have neighbors who vandalize daily and my stars never drop. Cleanup is just handshakes in a different form.

Since it seems kinda quiet around here today I thought I might take the opportunity to ask everyone about which buildings they look for when visiting neighbors and why. There have been quite a few posts about it recently in different threads so I thought I’d repost my reply to an earlier conversation to hopefully get some more input:
I’ve gotten to the point where I have enough money to leave all my houses ‘ripe for the picking’ as Sandra calls it, and when I first started thinking about all this neighbor visiting stuff I made a list of all the houses sorted by turnaround time and then by amount earned.
I started out with only freemium/cash buildings*, figuring everyone up to a certain level would have these buildings placed somewhere in their towns so I wouldn’t be searching around in vain, and that in itself was a big list. Recently I’ve started adding in all the premium offerings, and it can seem really overwhelming, and I’m prolly waaaay over-thinking this but I’d be curious to see who agrees/disagrees with my choices and why…
So here are my 1st picks when visiting neighbors:
1.Burns Manor
2. Krabappel Apartments
3. Courthouse
Boom. Done. Move on! You just earned your neighbor $1560 (all earn $520/50XP each) not counting their bonus multiplier and also hopefully saved them some time on those looong 48 hour turnaround times.
I won’t post the whole list here, as I’ve probably already lost all but the most nerdy/addicted readers by now anyway, but here’s the next few top freemium buildings on my list:
36 hours
Turban Outfitters – $400/40xp
Spinster City – $400/40xp
24 hours
Springfield High -$400/30xp
Pimento Grove – $350/30xp
Quimby Compound – $300/30xp
Unemployment – $300/30xp
DMV – $300/30xp
All Night Gym – $300/30xp
General Hospital – $300/30xp
Penitentiary – $300/30xp
Library – $200/20xp
And out of just those buildings I can usually find 3 that are available in any given town… I don’t have this list committed to memory or anything, just a general vague group in my head of buildings that earn my neighbors the most cash while saving them the most time… I know most of my neighbors don’t really need the cash like they used to but I figure if I’m gonna visit all 100+ towns every day anyway, might as well maximize the profits for my neighbors from my time. It does take a while to play this way, (it’s almost like where’s waldo?!) and my husband thinks I’m crazy – he just taps the first three non-graffiti icons he sees – so I guess I mostly do it for me, it makes me enjoy the game more and I get tons of inspiration from everyone. And I will say I tend to spend as much time looking as my neighbor spends planning, if that makes sense. The more detailed and complex the town, the longer I spend there, and I luckily have quite a few neighbors now that obviously spend hours working on these places so I can get absorbed pretty easily.
*If you wanna throw in premium buildings too I always look for the Stonecutter Lodge, Up, Up, & Buffet, Volcano Lair, Duff Stadium, Museum of Nat Hist, etc etc. The list really does go on and on, but you just have to remember that not everyone is lucky enough to have all the premium stuff.
Again, I’ve probably thought about this way too much, but it gives my Type A personality something innocuous to focus on, and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts…

Oh Emma! I am so glad you posted this! – mostly so I could tell you how much I appreciate you as a neighbor! I try to do the same, but sometimes, like this weekend, when I’m off at an out of state wedding, then I do resort to just tapping quickly, but I want you to know that your efforts are definitely noticed! What you just posted was important. My husband is like your husband and taps the first 3 things he sees. But when you think about a neighbor tapping 3 brown houses and netting you under $100, and then a neighbor like you visiting and adding over $1,000, it really does make a difference. There is a strategy to this game and having neighbors who understand the strategy is a real bonus. Thank you for being that kind of neighbor, and also, I love your town.
Janis! Thank you so much! I felt a little crazy typing all that out and I thought you were playing the same way but couldn’t be sure without asking… I hadn’t seen many people talk about it either, so I’m glad someone else was noticing and thinking the same way too!
I always spend way too much time in your town, you’ve obviously put some time into designing, it looks great!
Im pretty sure bad dream house is every 24hrs, madame chao’s is every 12hrs, guiseppes workshop is 24hrs. Not sure on pay for the 1st 2 though!
Personally, I need to get in and out in a hurry, especially when I am busy with real-world stuff, and barely have time to play or visit this website. That said, I look to avoid graffiti buildings, brown houses, and other quick turnaround items when tapping neighbors’ buildings, but I don’t spend a lot of time searching out the highest paying buildings since I want to visit all my neighbors in 20 min if I can.
A few things I try to keep in mind: Stonecutters Lodge has a very long turnaround time, and if I see that it is available to tap, I do so. Also, if Cletus’ farm is available to tap, I do so since a tap there can completely refresh a wilted crop (but I don’t search for the farm, so if there are other buildings to tap that are closer to the landing zone, I probably get them first). White and blue houses are my favorite to tap — they are all over and have a fairly long reset time.

This is exactly what I do as well. I thought I was the only “crazy” one doing it. For the most part, I always look for these long timer buildings/structures/objects first. There are some occasions when I tap on something else simply because I think it’s cool regardless of the timer on it. BTW, if I recall correctly, I believe the All-Seeing Eye is an 8 hour timer The same as the gold treasure chest and Lincoln’s log cabin.
Yes! I should have added I don’t always go for the long timers. If I notice a neighbor has something new, I like to tap on it to say, “Hey! I see what you’ve done!” Or, sometimes I tap on things just because I like how they look. And… I can’t resist Plopper, so I tap on his silo because it makes me happy. Today I tapped on your Shot Kickers, Louis, to say, “Hurray, you’ve got your car on the road!”
Thanks again for the tip about the car. Yeah, I’m the same way. Sometimes I will tap on stuff as a nod of approval type of thing.

We have some like it on the site already… will most likely do a new one soon though as the other one was a while back.
It’s a lot of options as its hard to know WHAT your neigh or may need. Some taps help with money, others with FP, some don’t matter at all.
But with the new events constantly hitting… we’ve held off as Events change it all over again
I always try and leave my brown houses to tap for neighbourinos, but because of my hideous schedule at the moment I tap twice a day, EST morning around 5:30am before I start, and ~7:00pm when I finish. ..
A little past twelve-thirty, just returned home from a party /
Where i broke bread and drank beer with friends and took shots of Bacardi /
There were oh so many hotties that were pressing to get naughty /
But more pressing on my mind was my connection that was spotty /
Yeah that’s right i’m talking ‘bout the data bars up on my phone /
Can’t believe it’s been three hours since i left my town alone /
Dunno if a full day passed since my man Radio has flown /

Just be wary of that object count when your town has the stress signs /

I do sales and marketing for a metal manufacturing company. Wookiee was in the Air Force, and now he’s going to school full time. And Bunny does marketing and promotions.

Hi everybody, and happy Sunday and Father’s Day 🙂 anyway… For some reason during the tertwilinger event I started to get exhausted from the event after event ( though they were all fun) especially because the tertwilinger event seemed more difficult and grindy… And was hoping for a while of downtime and after about a week started having event withdraws ( I know my addiction is bad ok 😉 ). Anyways was wondering if anyone has an idea or guess when or maybe what the next event will be… I know some might thing oh, I like the downtime and we just had an event not to long ago… I know, but my addiction :;) only seems to be getting worse ( to put it in perspective I’m going on my third dream now that was about an update… I know I have a problem, ok 🙂 ) anyway, I just wanted to hear some speculation about the next event and everyone’s ideas and thoughts, thanks and have a wonderful weekend and Father’s Day 🙂
Just to clarify I meant I was exhausted because of the more difficult and grindy nature I experienced during the tertwilinger event… I hope the next event isn’t as difficult or grindy, but maybe that’s just me 🙂
I have no idea but seeing some of the new characters and locations, I was thinking maybe Camping/road trip event, or Military (Hell Fish) event, I was hoping for a Father’s Day/Long lost son Event. There are plenty more possabilities Baby Event, Casino event etc. so as always we just need to wait and see.

Hi everybody, happy fathers day to all the dads out there. Wanted to let neighbors and A,B,&W, know that my iPad did die😢, good news is Mother in law bought me a new one (I love it), so back up and running. Sorry for being a little lax with my neighbors while I was switching over.

I’m going to try and catch up on my Classics Book Group book, “Dubliners,” which I’m way behind on (thank goodness it’s a short book!) and go to the laundromat layer to wash the new clothes I got at a thrift shop yesterday. (Exciting day, no? 😉 ) Oh, and I’ll also call my dads, and maybe my brother, who’s a new dad, to see how he’s holding up about 6 weeks into that lifelong adventure.
Oh, and I’m going to work my way through Ralphie’s adventures at The Happy Sumo. 🍣 🍱🍣 (For those of you trying to decide whether to get Akira and The Happy Sumo, I will say that, aside from some other positives, it gives you a lot of questline action for your donuts!)
I too was pleased with the quest lines for Happy Sumo and Akira. They lasted a long time and involved lots of other characters.
I love that book, Sandra! I remember reading it in high school for fun and the looks I got from my English teacher. He called me a weird kid. Heh.
I’m not that crazy about it, actually, since I’m finding that almost all of the stories are feather depressing. However, the richest and most exciting literary experience I may have ever had was when we spent an entire semester doing James Joyce’s “Ulysses” in high school. The number of levels and “tricks” Joyce worked into that book was utterly amazing! I feel bad for people who just read it like any other book and don’t realize all of the “hidden” stiff they’re missing.
A classics book club? That sounds amazing! I’ve never joined a book club because the books I really feel I want to read are not the books at the front of B&N. How “classic” do you go?
It’s funny you should say that, since we’re actually a Barnes and Noble book group now! (We started out about 20 years ago as a Borders book group, but when they closed several years ago, we moved over to B&N. As for how far back we’ve gone, without looking at my list, I know we’ve gone at least as far back as The Illyiad. But we read books from all time periods…the only stipulations that we have is that the book has to be considered a “classic” in some way (we’ve never really defined that, but, beyond the stuff that one might read in school or such, out includes books that may have been the first of their genre, like The Woman in White, or major award-winning books/authors, etc.) and that the author must be dead. We also try to go beyond the usual European and U.S. authors and read classics from less “traditional” countries from time to time.
Some of our members have been in the group since the very first meeting and others are more recent additions, but it’s a wonderful, lively group of intelligent interesting people who really do get together primarily to discuss the book, not to drink wine and eat appetizers and socialize (although we might do a bit of chatting before the meeting really starts and after it ends). I’ve been the leader for about…ummm…10 years now? (I’m so bad with time theses days) – the first leader who wasn’t a Borders book staff member (a former leader who wash and then left Borders, later came back as just a plain member, then moved to another state, but still sometimes reads the book of the month and sends me an email with his thoughts to share with the group.
Sorry….just realized that I’ve written a “novel” here, when all you asked was a simple question, lol! At any rate, if you happen to live in the metrowest Boston area and are interested in joining, let me know! 🙂
A Classics book group—That is so cool!
Hmmm my Sunday was driving 12 hours back to work, bit of tree-dodging, thank goodness for rumble strips!
Yikes – be careful, Matt! Maybe next time you could break it into two 6-hour trips, with a nice little cheap motel stay in between! (I was going to add, “…with a pool…,” but then I remembered it’s winter in your neck of the woods and most cheap motels don’t have indoor pools!)
Ta Sandra, I bought a new / old vehicle (don’t worry, still have my blue baby ;), a Suby Outback, ‘pparently an Audi TT wasn’t appropriate as a work vehicle! So from here on, I leave the work vehicle here in Sydney, and will be flown back and forth, no more near-suicidal driving 😉
