Well…sorry for the late posting. Gotta hate how late EA is getting with these updates. What happened to 9-10am for Level updates EA?! Can we get back to that please?
ANYWAY…so Level 55 hit our tapping devices a couple of hours ago and with it arrives….HERB POWELL!
Things start off with a little dialogue between Skinner and his mother. This is mostly explaining why Skinner’s hair in the game is now gray. This has NOTHING to do with the update itself.
As far as the actual Level 55 update, Comic Book Guy starts things off with a quest to build the Woosterfield Hotel, this will take 24hrs.

After a lot of waiting a new Friendship prize has finally been released, Friendship Level 16!

Am I the only one who received 4 donuts when reaching the new level?
Today when I logged into the game and the message for Level up appeared two times.
I used to look forward to new levels; now, not so much!
With each new level, the cost of everything seem to increase!
Any increase in store for level 55?
When new levels hit nothing increases, but prices decrease. The multipliers haven’t changed, and the Level 55 building is on par with what new level buildings have been costing…
I know I’ve said it before but EA do seem to be specialising in releasing new updates when you’re all busy. It’s almost like they’re waiting for you to be out 😉 😀
Really like this update, I’m very happy about the appearance of the Chrono Bike – love HG Wells and it looks so good! Also great to see the Angel Fossil as a FP prize, such a classic ep.
I think I’ll get The Homer this time as Powell Motors is now on my to buy list.
Ugh. Too many stacked tasks for Comic Book Guy this week
I passed on the Gil deal when it first popped up – but now it’s not in the shop at all. Was this just a one time offer? Usually they stick around for a day or two. Or do I need to look in a specific spot?
It should still be there, contact EA let them know it disappeared…
I had to hunt in my shop, found The Homer in the Premium section (Homer Buddha icon)
In my store, it’s in the golden Buddha statue section.
I logged in and got the pop-up and two donuts for leveling up, then got the pop-up for the amateur bucks, then got Miss Springfield (and another two donuts) again – nice glitch!
I was bummed I bought the Watergate now that there’s a hotel for cash, but I’m enjoying Nixon waving to the people in my town, so it’s good. I got excited when my husband said the new friend prize was the angel fossil because I love that episode and pictured it looking like it had just been unearthed and I could place it near my natural history museum. Alas, it’s Homer’s garbage pile garage shrine LOL
I’m happy to have Herb, but I liked the last few updates better. Can’t win ’em all!

I’ve had this thought for awhile… Sorta find it strange that there are comments pointing out that Alissa, bunny, and wookie don’t get on an update right away – after all they have their own lives too and are generally pretty speedy getting to it within a couple of hours. You guys are doing an amazing job, I (and everybody else) sure appreciate all the posts covering everything from the more complicated events (it’s great to have a primer and also suggestions on how to tackle it) to the should we buys, etc. Thanks so much!
I agree!! I can’t imagine running a blog while working full time, going to school (not to mention getting ready for a baby!) I don’t know how you do it… you guys are awesome and it’s much appreciated 🙂

While I really enjoy playing The Simpsons tapped out the tapball event is my first event., I wish a game like this would be made for American Dad.
Hmmmmm, I really like the Angel Fossil. It will work great for Halloween and Christmas. I really wish I would have gotten the creepy bed with Halloween costumes.
Ugh! Uncle Herb was my entry for the ‘next level’ comp a while back, and I really really want him. But I wasted my donuts on Shary Bobbins a while back… And im clean out on 0…. I spent a bit too many on the New Zealand flag, Jolly Roger flag etc too
The fortunate thing is he’s not going anywhere. So you can get him in a few months 🙂
The murderhorn has an effect now.
Never had the Skinner and Agnes dialogue pop up, even once I had all my characters free. Also tried jumping to Krustylyand and back, as well as shutting down and restarting, but nothing has triggered it.
I don’t care enough to contact EA, but hoping you guys will repost it on the walk through for the level, so I can at least know what I missed.

Ugh. I finally got caught up to level 54 after playing for 5 months and they decide to drop another level. I wish they had waited until tap ball event was over at least. Considering how obscure the characters are getting already, I can’t imagine what character will come with level 100.
Meh. If you wait… then you got a chance at more hitting and the Buildings being cheaper by the time you get there, right? 😛 🙂
Have to wait for them to fix the bugs caused by the new android update. Only response I’ve gotten so far from them is “We know”.
I got the update and dialogue just fine. My husband got an update and Gil and the dialogue between Skinner and Agnes, but no level up and no donuts. It says he has to reach level 55 before he can build the hotel. Anyone else have this issue?
Check where the XP Level is… but also VERY Critical… the Game Play Level ie where in Game Play Questlines is he? Did he unlock all of Level 53 & 54? Can’t jump Levels. Got to do them in order. 😉
We’re at the same stage, current on all levels, I think he’d even gotten the donut bonus for level 54. His next step is to uninstall/reinstall, but I was hoping someone else had this issue as well.
Reinstall seemed to have worked! Yay!
I have this exact issue. Levelled up to 55 when I updated got the donuts. Started saving up for the hotel and now that I’ve enough money it said Its locked til level 55 🙁
I’m excited I’ll finally be getting a hotel seeing as I just passed on the Scandel-gate and was feeling a bit bummed about having no hotels/motels in my game.
And I’m so confused why they changed Skinners hair? Seems like such an unnecessary change…maybe related to an upcoming episode tie-in?
Oh and I love the new friendship prize!! I love that episode so much. Any Homer/Lisa centric episodes always get me 🙂
I wish the Angel Fossil had been part of an event of some kind… with a Stephen Jay Gould character (if dead presidents are allowed, why not dead eminent evolutionary biologists who appeared in the show?). I’m glad to have it, though. I love the Chrono Trike too, both things are nice for us science geeks. Still waiting for Springfield University; meanwhile I’ll build a campus with the Monsarno buildings.
Have to wait till Friday to get Herb and the mansion. EA has already broken my wallet this month. Plus I know I’m gonna need 120-160 sprinkles for permanent fans that will only be available for 5 days
Waiting for this post to pop up was agony, I didn’t want to comment announcing the new update because I figured multiple people would have been doing that and the mediation process would slow down the arrival of this post. I kept thinking to myself, doesn’t Alissa, Bunny and Wookie take sleep shifts like trained soldiers in war time? -lol. Looks like the enemy may have captured them with their guard down. Tsk tsk tsk.

Actually today was just one of those afternoons. Bunny was traveling for work, Wookiee was at work and I was picking up my very tired hubby who’s flight kept getting delayed.
I would’ve loved to buy this combo but after previewing it in my town, its proportions are just all off. It would’ve been cool to put Powell Motors next to the cracker factory or the casino, but next of them, it just looks silly. EA has got to be more consistent in how they size these buildings.
I knew I was saving my donuts for something! Herb has always been a favorite of mine. Now I just need to earn 16 more donuts…
Weird. I never got the dialogue between Skinner and his mother. But I have the hotel building and snapped Herb up right away. I am so excited Herb is in my game.
I didn’t get the dialogue between Skinner & his mum either. Got the start with Comic Book Guy as normal but had to go into Krustyland to get Gil.
Heh. About a month or so ago I remember thinking “why haven’t they done Homer’s angel yet?” 🙂

I’m happy that Herb is inn the game, but sad that he’s so expensive…there’s no way I’m going to spend that much for him, at least not until I’ve gotten a bunch of other stuff first. Just hope maybe he’ll be available on a Gil’s Deal at some point. But it did make me happy that I know it’s gonna make a lot of other folks happy, since there were a lot of people posting about how much they wanted Herb when The Homer first came out.
Looking forward to getting the hotel started once CBG finishes nunchucking. I think this will be the first hotel for my Springfield! 🙂

As I was heading home from work today I thought to myself “there was no update earlier in the day, I need something new and fresh in my game” and considered whom I would buy and then pop comes this update. I wanted to pounce on Herb but 200Donuts.. Then seeing The Homer for 86 (or whatever) plus his Home for donuts… Figure if I buy him he will have some tasks I can’t use unless I buy those other places (I hate that) so I fought my impulse and figure that maybe next year Gil will bundle it all for a decent price.. Maybe..
I need the SIBs as soon as possible :p
I also really want the Chrono Trike (being a not only a fan of The Time Machine and time-machines in general and according to a comment of a different post an owner of my very own malfunctioned time-machine) but once again even for game cash awfully expensive for a vanity item that may not be interactive (looking for that SIB too).

Yeah, I don’t care for the new shade (Skinners hair) but I’m not a big fan of Change in general. I usually tell people to keep it (the change).
yet in seriousness my distaste of change led me to a design (symbol) which later led to my TOTBox namesake… But enough of my origin story that makes little sense without the full story..
