Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. Tap Ball is winding down this week, have you earned everything you wanted? Will you get there before Tuesday? Level 55 hit our devices last week, what are your first thoughts on Level 55? Have you purchased Herb? MLB All Star game was earlier this week, did you check it out? What did you think of the new Home Run Derby format? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Red Sox at the Angels, will you be watching? And finally it’s a hot steamy day here on the East Cost, and I’ll be lounging by the pool trying to keep cool, how about you?

Alissa! What did your baby daddy bring you back from the All-Star game? Did he get you one of those UGLY all-star hats they were wearing with the double stripes? Lol. I liked the new home run derby format. It’s one on one and it makes you want them to always hit another homer before time runs out.
lol no ugly hats, we both agreed they were U-G-L-Y. He brought me back some t shirts and a little stuffed animal for the baby. New format is great, now they just have to get it off of ESPN, because they’re AWFUL.

I don’t do should I Buy posts for items for in game cash. You’re also required to buy it to complete the questline (it’s indicated on the turbo tappin’ walkthrough)
I bought the chrono trike. It looks awesome next to Frink’s lab.
imo one of best additions of this event have been the new task animation for all the tapballers. curious what everyone’s favorites are?
my favorites include burns’ signal plays, lisa’s juggle ball, marge’s crabwalk, homer’s bicycle kicks, ralph’s somersaults, and both of kung fu cbg’s outdoor tasks, especially his practice moves task (love the karate kid crane kick!). my absolute favorite though is apu’s polish ball task… this has gotta be straight from the big lewbowski! I LOVE IT!!
I think my list is pretty similar. 🙂
One correction though…they’re “sumbersaults,” not somersaults. (I know it’s Ralph mispronouncing them, but it’s good that he did, because what he actually does in his animation aren’t somersaults (which involve rolling over one’s head), they’re just rolling around on the ground.)
but that’s just ralph being ralph….. i’m a doggy, quack quack!
hehe anyway i was going by what it says in the task name. maybe you should contact ea to get them to change it! 🙂
Oooh – does the actual task say somersaults? If so, I definitely apologize (and, yes, I’ll have to take that up with EA 😉 )!
Hmm, FWIW, Wikipedia disagrees. There’s an article about “somersault”, but “sumbersault” is not even mentioned in the article as an alternate spelling. The original antiquated french spelling is apparently “sombresault”.
Huh? I said “sumbersaults” wasn’t a real word – just Ralph mispronouncing “somersaults.” Not sure what your point is… My only point was, if he really is supposed to be doing somersaults, he’s doing them wrong (which is par for Ralph, lol!).
My favorite by a wide margin is Ralph’s somersaulting, followed by his tap dancing…..I may keep him in his tapballer skin permanently!
I’m partial to Jasper catching an imaginary fly ball, Burns signaling plays, CBG practicing moves, and Ralph doing summersaults.
is it normal that on my “other springfield” sideshow bob keeps on appearing for me to “catch” him?
Also why do we get a regular pay (for premium characters) after sending a premium character to a task involving a premium building, to be specific, SVT when doing Usher at the Aztec? Is it normal? I thought it should be the multiplier of the premium character + the multiplier for the premium building? Like airing Live news report on Channel 6 for instance paying the same amount in less time than the regular programing since it requires the news van. unfortunately there is no stacking of premium multipliers. whether you are sending a premium character to a premium building, a premium character to a regular building, or a regular character to a premium building, in most cases you will simply get the standard premium payout and nothing more. only burns’ monty moneybags skin and sherri and terri can earn triple the payout.
Also Fall out Boy gets 500 instead of 750 for getting air sick in the Rad Station.
So I unlocked all items, but looking through my inventory the Cat Lady outfit is not there? All the other outfits I’ve unlocked are there even if it’s not usable because I don’t have the character, except for her. Should I bother to contact EA about it?
There’s not costume. There’s nothing for her. It just unlocks the ability for her to Play Tap Ball, if you already have her. i.e. if you already spent the donuts to have her in your town. Otherwise there’s no daily prize for that day…just the time bonus.
I got a problem of 2,
1- I buy the clay skin for the stadion but did not received the skin.
Now it cost me 50 donuts for nothing.
2- My girlfriend sends me some balls but like the frist problem, I did not
received it either.
What can be the problem?
There were to many flaws in this event.

I did but there was no option to change the skin.
Im thinking there is a flaw in the game.

Have allready contacted EA about this problem.
I hope it’s easy going on events for a while and just some new levels/Gil deals til Halloween. Although, an expansion rather than an event would be nice. Like maybe a new suite buildings and a questline for Squidport or Krustyland or both! I could use some more Squidport tiles!

Is there any way to store characters without storing the building the come in? Like in family guy? If not they should really add this feature as I have way too many characters (tapping the 24 hour quest for each one is pretty brutal)
No, if it comes with a building both the character and the building get stored.
This has been my first full event, good fun but very time consuming and the prizes don’t seem quite as nice as previous ones. Need to catch up on the level storylines now as I’m really way behind on the gameplay.
just noticed that my double bleachers turned into a single bleacher! anyone else?
It is common to read in the news about bleachers collapsing at sporting events, balconies at apartment complexes and cranes at construction sites. I would not expect EA to construct our bleachers any better…

2: Why the heck have they raised donut prices for europeans? I thought they were expensive before but now holy ****. Why are Europeans beeing discriminated against by EA?

I actually like this event, it wasn’t as stressful as Terwilliger event. And we get to try out something new for once, but of course the community prize was a disaster, EA try to lower them to make it obtainable for everyone. Not saying it was a bad thing, when they slowly decrease the amount it kinda feels like they are pity on the community, kinda ruined the fun of it. I hope there will be more community prize, but this time hope they will count the possible amount to let us obtain the prize. 😀

It feels like Christmas in July =0) I’m beating the bejeebus out of my neighbors with a 158-51-13 record (a .740 winning percentage…. playoffs, baby !), my stadium looks wicked awesome, and I still have 2 days to earn dozens of extra overtime donuts on top of the 427 I’ve earned so far playing the event. How’s that possible? I ain’t sayin’ nothin’!
I’ve earned more donuts in this event than in all others (started Halloween event 2014) combined!!! It’s been great. Another neat thing besides the double 10 community donuts we got…. I just got to the Bonuts prize screen, won three , and right before I clicked collect my ipad died. When I got it charged and back on the game the collect screen was still up. Once I tapped collect I received six Bonuts instead of three. It seriously takes only half the day to get to the bonus. Combined with the daily task and tap ball matches I’ve gotten 3 bonus rounds on one day, occasionally.
How did you earn that many bonuts!!! 😀

I earned maybe 5 in Act 2, but none in act 1 or 3
i feel like i’m the last man on earth right now. nobody in the tstoaddict world, my wife and kid still asleep. but i’ll continue to sound off to myself. i switch between two devices, bot showed 8 new items for the last 2 or 3 months. now it’s down to 5. does anyone else have this issue? i’ve tapped on the info icon of anything that says new underneath and that doesn’t seem to correct it. i asked an origin help guy about it after solving a different issue a while back and he said to uninstall/reinstall. glad i didn’t, though, for i had not signed it up to my fb account yet and would have lost everything

Ahhh I had this exact same problem for MONTHS and I’m so glad I can help someone fix it as it’s very annoying lol. SO, when you go into the store, theres 3 boxes, one for characters, buildings and deco, BUT, BESIDE that there’s an arrow, if you click that it opens up a bigger menu and you should see a 5 or and 8 on one of those squares (probably the money or donut one). If you click that and scroll through that menu the NEW! 8! Will disappear! It’s because with each new level I think EA decreases the amount of donuts used to purchase in game cash so with each update you have to “look” at that menu. But don’t spend donuts on cash!! Hope I helped 😊

I’m glad the event is ending, i usaually feel this way once I’ve gotten everything I wanted (and that was a few days ago). The only event I played till the last second was this past Halloween event. I moved to Thailand in October and didn’t have internet for days (still got everything then). I missed every event from Christmas 2014 – Superheroes due to shotty Internet. I played some but mostly I got the Bart page. The Terwilliger Event was my come back event and this event was loads better compared to that.
I guess we have to wait now until October for a new event or do yall think one will be coming in August. Still fingers crossed for Simpsons Japanese vacation. Am I right? Either way things are going to be getting really really quiet especially since a new level just dropped. Got Herb instantly, and I’m depressed at how small Powell Motors is. Oh well Happy Tapping Yall.

I’m guessing there will be another event in mid-late August (remember Clash of Clones last year). It seems EA puts one out every two months… Tap Ball started in June and if another starts in August then two months after that it will be time for Halloween—my favorite! I do think we’ll get a yard sale soon… maybe next week?
Sandra, there’s nothing wrong with your town. Though the first thing I noticed, when I entered it, was that you still have a ton of land left to buy (that’s awesome). Your town is great, own it sista.
Also, I love how all of us have the same things(ish) and we all utilize them differently. My town is pretty darn simple, but I have a solid five star Springfield and Krustland (my towns rating has not budged for the last couple of levels).

Thanks, Amy! 🙂 I actually like my little town and have put some real thought into it. It’s just not “fancy,” like some towns are. I think I have some fun little touches here and there (if one bothers to notice them) and it’s on the more “realistic” side.
And, yes – happy I have a fair amount of land left to purchase, when I need it. I’ve never had any house or Kwi farms and have only somewhat recently started building things that take “extra” land for design (like my Monsarno complex and tap ball stadium). I also have no interest in any of the big “aspirational” items so far, so that helps, too.
Yes, Amy – I was happy to finally be able to add you! 🙂 I’m going to be doing a neighborhood “cleanup” soon, so I’m hoping to be able to get add more folks who have been waiting patiently for me to add them.
I doubt we’ll have to wait all the way until October for something to hit… I’m guessing that there will be at least some kind of mini event in August/September. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
Well, Sandra, you sound as though you might have an interesting town. I just replaced two spots that had been absent for 4 weeks. I have two others that are approaching that level (4 weeks is my cut-off). I would enjoy the opportunity to,peruse your efforts. Me, I am still building out, being the pre-fremium that I am.

Well, my town is nothing fancy – no 3-D stuff or anything like that – but I like to think it’s got some logic and pleasantness to it. 🙂
If you’ve sent me a friend request, I’ll definitely be happy to add you when I have an opening (which *may* be soonish), as long as you know that I’m NOT a member of the “no vandalism” group. I don’t generally go out of my way to graffiti, but if that’s all I can find to do, I will. I also prefer neighbors who will visit me with some regularity…I generally visit daily, but I understand that sometimes life gets in the way and folks may need to skip a day or two here or there.
At any rate, if you’re okay with those things, I look forward to being neighbors! 🙂

Alissa – I’m so jealous that you have a pool to lounge by!! Enjoy an extra dip for me, will ya? I’m not as much a swimmer as a floater, lol! I’ll get my chance at a pool for a few days at the end of August…just hope I have the right weather for it that week, because I need that de-stresser of lying by the pool, then cooling off by submerging in, then floating on, the pool, and then melting a bit in the hot tub (repeat sequence until dinnertime).
Lol don’t be too jealous it’s not my pool, it’s actually my sister’s swim club. Think she felt sorry for the preggo in this 95 degree heat lol

I have enjoyed this event, I was upset that I missed Tennis Marge as I couldn’t get on. I was close but it was going to cost me 370 donuts to buy her, it’s a shame as I like that skin, I bought Nelson’s instead to get a third team. I completed the daily task list today, the final one is still just 5 balls. I had hoped they could have changed it when the prizes were unlocked to some Amateur Bucks or something. You can still buy the balls in the shop. I’m saving my Bucks for the last day, I want a fee things but I can only get a couple of items I’m sure. I’ll wait and see what to get.

What did everyone think of tap ball?
Definitely less stressful than the last event, however I wish there was more characters added rather than more homer (and other) outfits.
New characters are always nice, but i feel like we’ve gotten a lotta new ones already this year, and frankly I have too many characters as it is. Not that I still wouldn’t welcome more, I’m just good with the new sports skins and quotes that were added with this update.
Can’t forget all the awesome new task animations too!
I’ve only been playing since February, but I found this event to be kind of a snooze. Terwillegers erred a bit too far on the stressful side as far as crafting costs, but at least I liked the stuff we were getting. I feel like this event just gave us a Frankenstein-ish tap ball field and a bunch of skins and an NPC. I also found the tap ball game itself to be pretty boring as there’s not really much strategy to it other than challenging a weaker opponent or making sure you have enough tonics to beat an equal/stronger opponent. I thought the superhero event was perfect as far as being fun and challenging.
does anyone know if the balls will disappear when the event is over? am i the only one that would like them to stay forever? i know it’s a bit more cpu for the device, but worth it if you ask me. ok, i know, nobody asked me

As it comes to an end, I just want to say I thoroughly enjoyed this Tap Ball event. I unlocked all 15 prizes from the three acts, completed all the daily trainings, and thanks to all of you obtained all 5 community prizes.
As well, with 4 rounds of bonuts during Act 1, 6 rounds in Act 2, and so far 3 rounds in Act 3, I’ve earned 39 free bonus donuts so far.
The only bad news I have is I just attained my 100th loss in tap ball play this morning 🙁 I’m so glad they don’t sort the leaderboard by losses.
I currently have just over 4000 tickets. I was thinking of buying a bunch of fence pieces to enclose my stadium. What is everyone else planning to do with their leftover tickets?
as a freemium player, i only had 40 donuts before the event. as i was one of the lucky ones that got 10 donuts twice and picking up the bonus donuts i have 103! and still expecting at least one more bonus reward
I used most of mine to upgrade players earlier in the event. The rest I used to by one set of goalposts and fencing.,
I’m getting mostly fences. Want to surround my arena and am really hoping they will be usable in Krustyland after the event.
Unfortunately, I bought nine fences and in my final design only needed three. I made an entire sports-themed block with three buildings from the event surrounding it. I even parked the Duff truck next to the field. Now I’m hoping without hope to amass enough ABs to buy one more each single, double and triple stands to finish it off properly. My biggest regret is not buying two football goals and another soccer goal instead of the fences.

This event, I’m sad to say, hasn’t done very much for me. But I know that you can’t like everything, I’m just hoping for something more up my street next time. When/what do we think the next one will be? Theres bound to be something else before Halloween!
I go on holiday tomorrow so I’m looking forward to chilling and cooling down by the pool myself 🙂
why there is no gift or some donuts when you invite some friends to play??
that would be cool, but i think the reward is just the extra friend points you and they get when tapping on their town
I’m sure there would be those that would abuse it by setting up fake accounts as “friends” just to get donuts.
Has anyone else noticed fewer fans? Usually in the morning I find lots of fans, but this morning only a few.
