To start, you will need to make sure you are Up To Date on the App from your App Market to ensure you see all the content and have the patches necessary.
Additional warning, some Players reporting the game crashing as well with the Update. Looking into that a bit more. Additional note: It seems this is hitting more iOS6 and iOS devices. Cuavsfan has started a Forum Thread on it. Feel free to light it up with your comments.

When you first pop into your game after it is fully up to date, you will see Gil roaming your streets with a Fudgesicle Icon over his head. Tapping on it will trigger the dialog…
Gil: Used truck for sale! Used man selling a used truck!
Homer: Not interested.
Gil: I’ll clean all the half-melted ice cream out of the back. I’ll wreak havoc on my sciatica, but what choice do I have?
Homer: Half melted! Ice Cream! Sciatica! Wait, not the last one. But those first ones… SOLD!
The offer will then Pop Up on the Screen.
Ice Cream Homer w/Ice Cream Truck: 120 Donuts.

Gil: It’s me isn’t it? It couldn’t be the ice cream, because who doesn’t like ice cream? But everybody doesn’t like ol’ Gil.
The offer will then be moved into your Main Menu Screen.

If you take the offer and place the Ice Cream Truck in your Springfield…
Ice Cream Truck: Is a Decoration, but animated when tapped. The lights flash, engine rumbles, and smoke shoots from the tail pipe. It also plays some Ice Cream Man Music, followed by “Product contains neither Ice or Cream.”
Gil: I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
Gil: Also I scream at the nightmares brought on by the sadness of my horrible life.
You will then see the Pop Up for Ice Cream Man Homer’s Outfit. You will have to play through the Questline to unlock it. More on the Questline in another post.
Homer will start the Questline for “Ice Cream Man Cometh.”
SIDE NOTE
For whatever reason, EA swapped out Fat Tony for Snake in LA Body Works. Task name remains the same, but Snake is now in that spot. Looking into it, but this may be permanent.

Not getting it, homer has enough outfits, and I have enough vehicles. he’s also needed on a bunch of other quests I stopped doing because he was earning event currency. I don’t need yet another quest needing him
Since the update I noticed LA Bodyworks building has a mat and hammer floating over it constantly even if all my workers are already working.

Hi! This is a random question but … I have just bought a Microsoft Surface ready for uni in September and I tried to find Tapped Out in the app store but couldn’t. Is this correct or am I doing man looking?

Windows has a stand alone FG Version, but is is nothing like the Mobile at all. Very Limited. So beware of that.
There are alternatives, but nothing supported by EA directly… so it is play at your own risk.
You can run TSTO on Windows via Bluestacks.
Poor Fat Tony. I just went into my game and he was actually pacing back and forth in front of LA Body Works like he was trying to find a way in. Probably wondering what he did to get banned from the establishment. Especially now that they let Snake in.
Tony subbed-in Snake so he could step out for a stogie. 😀
For some reason if Fat Tony is waiting for a task, the LA Body Works Yoga Mat still appears, as if there is a character available for a task, but when clicked, there’s no one there to start a task. This seems like a glitch… any ideas?
Everyone is experiencing it. It came with the swap. All we can do is wait to see how EA is going to correct it.
Wishful thinking im sure, but hopefully the Fat Tony change means something surrounding him is incoming, maybe a level update. Wishful thinking, but still, seems like an arbitrary change to make otherwise.
Seems like it was always meant for Snake. “Recruit Some Muscle”. Wouldn’t Fat Tony be the brains not the muscle?
well, it would make sense for the brains of the op to recruit the muscle. but considering fat tony is a mob boss and already has legs and louie (and others not in this game) to do his bidding, it definitely seems more appropriate for someone lower on the totem pole like snake to do his recruiting at a fitness center. anyway i’m good with the change, it frees up fat tony to once again relax in the hot tub 24/7.
I always thought of Snake as a lone wolf. Seems more a job for someone in an “organization”.
I can’t get in at all with both ios devices. When I went to add my complaint to the help link, I got an error message from EA. Grrr, arrg.

Not necessarily the right place to bring it up, but I’ve noticed not getting any FP from handshakes in my Springfield. Is there a time limit I’m unaware of, like having to clear handshakes within an hour to get the FP? I did get them once or twice, but nearly every other time clearing the handshakes gets me no friendship points.
It has been that way for months. Something in the mechanics has changed disabling the FP from several Buildings around town. All you can do is keep bugging EA about it.
Way to prioritize EA. They’re more concerned with another Gil “deal”(a glitchy one at that) than replacing they’re customers currency THEY lost.
Trying to get us to spend more donuts before replacing ones that went missing!?! No wonder EA is well known for being greedy.
*Note- we shouldn’t be forced to go through the ever-so-pleasant experience of wading through multiple reps begging for donuts they lost!
My thoughts are…if the bank screws up and takes money out of your account, or charges you a fee for something you weren’t supposed to be charged a fee for…aren’t you going to stay on top of them until it’s resolved and your money is back? It’s the same concept here. No you shouldn’t have to do it…but you’ve got to stay on top of these people because like most people they only care about themselves. So they’re not as worried about what you’re missing unless you bug the crap out of them for it… Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

That’s a fair analogy Alissa, my frustration lies solely with EA. Let’s face it though, in the years I’ve been playing this game this is the biggest debacle to date and the patches are causing new issues while not correctly fixing existing ones. Now they have the ‘tapballs’ to try to squeeze more out their customers after losing that same currency.
Using your analogy – would a bank say “Hey we know we misplaced some of your money, but before we get to that, how about this high interest loan??” Bank president Gil says it’s a heck of a deal!!!
lol honestly…yes they would. Every time I leave the bank they’re always trying to sell me something 😉
But I get what you’re saying about the bugs/glitches. Oddly they only seem to impact one sector of players (unless they’re widespread like the lagging issue after last Easter….where we got free donuts). I think that’s what causes a lot of the delays in fixing them. They only impact some players, but not all. For example I’m not currently having crashing issues, but back when tap ball left I was.
Keep in mind that events, mini releases, tie-ins, etc are all scheduled MONTHS in advance. So long before the “glitches” were in place, these were created. They won’t just hault the game. That can cause them massive other issues on the Company side. Delaying releases creates nightmares.
That is like saying that payday is coming up at work, but your Company has an issue with one of it’s product releases. so they will not pay any employees until it is fixed. To do so… utter chaos and nightmare. A company can’t come to a stand still while they resolve an issue.
It does suck when stuff like this happens (been playing for 3 years), but know that the two are in no way what so ever linked so try not to think of them as the same entity because they are not. Age old saying “the show must go on”, regardless of what is going on back stage.

I lost donuts but have no idea how many. Btween 100 and maybe 70. Do you think I should just say 100 when I contact them? I don’t want to lie but I feel like they’ll low ball me.
They will ask you. It is better to guess a lil more than less in my opinion.
I managed to get my donuts back. I asked the rep to put my request to the specialists to resolve. Bit sad they didnt get me bonus donuts as an apology, but I’ve received a lot of in game free ones in the last few weeks.
the fact that bonus donuts are handed out so freely for complaints is what gripes me that those of us who have had donuts TAKEN can’t get them loaded back.
I just can’t see buying anymore donuts for these limited items until these issues are fixed:(…I feel like I would be the only one to blame if I bought donuts and lost them knowing that I’ve had others disappear….and trust me having a zero donut balance is bugging me:/
Oh look another Gil “Deal”! I hate these it’s just EA flogging limited time products with Gil on them to trick you into thinking you are getting a good deal. I think the fact that the The Homer car returned as a Gil deal for the same price of 82 donuts shows you it is a sham. Gil should be reserved for proper deals like discounts and sales!
Actually the Car was an “oops” release. That is one of the ONLY times a deal has returned for exactly what it was. 😉
So they launch an update with very limited time and it crashes… Bye bye limited time.

Fair Warning Folks, Latest android (kindle and play store) update wiped both my accounts donuts, mine and my partners were both reset to 11. Ea is working on it they said lots of folks were reporting the issue,
It already wiped out a lot of players donuts when it hit. They keep saying “patch coming” but I would suggest staying on the line with them until they reinstall the donuts back into your game. Be kind, but let them know the multiple other agents have added them back just fine.

I have just googled Tonight Dough … it sounds amazing! I don’t think they sell it in the U.K. My bucket list only consists of doing a food tour of the U.S … if I could just taste all the deliciousness that I see in American film and T.V I would die happy!

Still getting the Land Error after the update-I was hoping it would fix it…so frustrating I haven’t been able to play ANY of this event yet. I have an open ticket with EA, but they’re not really giving me any constructive feedback.
Well, i’m glad I didn’t buy the plastic surgery building, because I would much rather have an ice cream truck!
I hopped on here specifically because of the crash. It updated and won’t even load now…

Let me be even crueler… I let it soften a lil bit after making some homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies (small sized) then make “Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches” with it. SOOOOoooooo good. I make them small intentionally. They are my “cheat treats”. 😉

The swap out is really aggravating. It’s hard enough to build up the bank of items without them swapping out a character mid day for one most of us probably has tied up on an all day task….not nice, EA.
I had the forced update hours ago but nothing actually changed in the game. I’ve been wondering what the update was meant to be, there’s moGul in my game 😞
For some reason LA body works still seems to think Tony should be doing a task. even with everyone doing something, I have a yoga mat above LA Body works.
Was there a change in the cost to do some tasks. my STØR furniture characters seem to be having more to do than they did did before the update.

Same here, even with everyone on task I still have the floating icon constantly hovering over my Body Works. And I need to l pay more attention to my coffee-any time I’m out of the game for awhile, my coffee supply is at zero whenever I check back in (granted you have to use it for EVERYTHING so it’s never in great supply but still- none? All the time? Mmmphh.)

The Fat Tony Snake switch has caused a glitch in my game where the mat task still shows as available over LA Body Works if Tony is available even though the can’t be sent to make mats.
Noticed the swap beteeen snake and fat tony, icon still there above la body shop after sending everone on the task
This Snake swap causes that the icon for open tasks on the bodyworks building never disappears, even of all slots are busy.
I got it, unlocked Ice Cream Man, and I love it. I put it in Springfield Heights.
Oh, I will be getting this. I wish it played Missy Elliott’s ‘Get Ur Freak On’ when you tap it, lol 😛
Fat Tony seems to have been kicked out of yoga mat generation at L.A. Body Works, only to be replaced by Snake. Does EA have other plans for Tony?
What is annoying though, is the yoga mat/hammer icon no longer goes away after you have assigned tasks to all the characters linked to this building since the Snake/Fat Tony swap.
I haven’t unlock that slot yet, but good to know what’s ahead.
I was getting close to enough REV to unlock and wanted to keep Fat Tony free, so I double check and it’s…Snake. Silly EA. Don’t add more glitches for no good reason.
The only glitch I seem to have so far is that L.A. Body Works shows it is ready to collect yoga mats even when it is not.
