Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Ok so back to this Project Board/Blueprint mess that we’re all hitting. Once you reach a certain number of Blueprints awarded from the Project Board it blocks you from earning any more blueprints via the Project Board. As I promised in yesterday’s post, I ran the Project Board again today in my town and have some new results and analysis from my own game. Hopefully this will help shed some more light on the situation for everyone….
So let’s get into it shall we?
First, let me preface this by saying this is my own interpretation from what I’m seeing in the game vs. what I’m seeing in the files. This is not necessarily the be all to end all of information. This is simply what I’m interpreting from what I’m seeing in my own play and your comments….
As I wrote yesterday the stop in the ability to turn in materials to the Project Board itself isn’t a glitch. It’s intended. Evidence of it being intended is right in the game itself…
If it was a glitch it the verbiage of Sebastian Cobb needing a rest would not be in the game. That in itself shows you that it’s intended to be there.
Second, this is NOT a cap on the total Blueprints you can earn. Some people out there are confusing a Project Board Cap with a Blueprint total cap. There is no cap on the maximum number of Blueprints you can earn in a day. Remember, you can earn Blueprints via Possums (10 for everyone you squish..and at it’s basic form you’ll get 8/4hrs) and you can earn Blueprints from Visiting Neighbors (6/tap…so if you do 3 taps/neighbor that’s 18/town. And the actions do cap at 90 actions (30 neighbors). Now the game says 90 actions. If you tap on the i when you’re in a neighbor’s town it’ll tell you how many actions you have left:
You will also earn Blueprints for clearing the buildings your neighbors dumped on in your town (1/building you clear).
Also, it’s IMPORTANT for you to realize that IF you spend donuts to speed up the prize track (for example if you spent 30 donuts to rush and get the Monorail Station built) those Blueprints that are required for it (so in the Monorail Station case 3,000) will be added to your total Blueprint Count. (just like it’s worked for EVERY event in the past). And some of these lower level prizes (like Monorail Station, Tracks etc) aren’t that expensive in donut cost. So there are a lot of people rushing the first few. So if you see a neighbor with 30,000+ Blueprints (or a high number) it’s most likely because they rushed the prize track with donuts. The Blueprint total a neighbor (or you) have has nothing to do with the Project Board Cap. So don’t go by totals.
The only way to track what you’re earning from the Project Board is to write down what each payout is for each project you turn in. If you try to go by the total amount you’ll be completely off.
So now let’s get into today’s results…
Yesterday I had said the cap for today (August 13th) is 13,500. I took that to mean that we’d get 13,500 Blueprints from the Project Board today before capping out. However, I did say let me test it before we know for sure. And I can tell you my initial interpretation was incorrect.
Let me give you today’s results and then I’ll explain a little further. Today’s numbers were:
312
497
372
374
558
20
2240
+1200 Bonus
For a total of 5,573
So the 13,500 number for today has been busted (and may of you pointed this out today as well).
So here’s my analysis of it all….
Initially I thought the cap indicated in the files was a cap per day. Meaning you can earn x amount on this day. Instead what it appears to be is a running total of what you can earn MAX from the Project Board by that certain day. If you skip a day, or don’t max out for that day, it’ll carry over to the total allowed for the next day. Which is why yesterday when I ran it I got 8,168 just from turning in projects..because the day before (the first day of the event) I didn’t cap out. So the balance from the 11th carried over to the 12th. Make sense so far?
To break it down even further…
You’re allowed to earn 4,500 Blueprints from JUST turning in projects/day. Each day is a running total. So if you miss a day or don’t max out you can make it up the next day.
So here are a few totals:
8/11- 4,500
8/12- 9,000 (4,500 more than 8/11)
8/13- 13,500 (4,500 more than 8/12)
8/14- 18,000 (4,500 more than 8/13)
So again, it’s a running total and NOT an individual per day cap. The cap per day is set at 4,500.
Note: The last 4 days of Act 1 (August 19th-22nd) the cap increases to 9,000/day.
But note it’s not a hard 4,500. You can go slightly over it each day (depending on the projects you do) from what I’m seeing…BUT if you go over it the previous day, the next days amount will be lower. (which is what I saw in my game Yesterday’s total went about 200 over and today’s was about 200 under)
As far as the bonus you earn each day for completing the challenge…initially I thought it counted towards your Cap for the day. However, I now don’t think that’s the case. I think it’s a bonus and you earn that on top of the cap. At least that’s what I’m seeing from today’s numbers and yesterdays.
I’m going to run it one more day and see if these theories pan out tomorrow. Once I do I’ll get you guys the total cap for Act 1 from the Project Board, as well as breakdown the rest of the math (and daily bonuses). But to sum it all up think of it as getting roughly 4,500 Blueprints JUST FROM TURNING IN PROJECTS ON THE PROJECT BOARD/day. Anything you get from the daily bonus, possums or neighbors is Blueprints you earn on top of that cap. So with those adjustments it is possible to earn all of the prizes by the end…but it’ll be close. For many it’ll go right down to the wire.
Again Note: The last 4 days of Act 1 (August 19th-22nd) the cap increases to 9,000/day.
Bottom line: If you want ALL the prizes, you can’t just rely on the Project Board. You need to clear Possums, visit friends etc to earn it all.
What are your thoughts on the new Project Board Interpretation? Are the numbers your getting matching up to what we’re seeing? Anything you’re still confused on? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Is this cap for everyone?
I have the legal normal version out of play store on my android device, so NOT a hacked or modded one.
I can keep earning blueprints on my project bord, it goes on for ever and ever.
Is this a bug? Don’t care that I’m affected, but I find it not fair against other players. I want the cap removed for all players, not just me.
Do you have ALL the Personal Prizes? In my game, once I hit them all…. it has no cap for me.
Can I collect money from all my buildings or do I have leave some so neighbors can tap on them to leave garbage?
Thanks
Money is not a factor. Collect away. 😉
i can hear my 16 year old self saying in math class..”when I’m I ever really gonna use math?! I’m gonna be a social worker…. I don’t need math.” I have a headache. Numbers a like a foreign language to me. Even adding! Lol thanks for doing all the hard work! Helped a lot
I can’t Math. 😉
Well today it didn’t matter how many blueprints I got for each project turned in because I got locked out after turning in the 3 needed for today, and I don’t think I got that many today. Oh well.
I’m still a bit confused. My current game status tells me that I need to hand in 1 more project within the next 21 hours to get 1800 bonus Blueprints. For today, I’ve therefore decided to save up for the Major Widget (Reward 1992 blueprints) as my 2rd and last project, as opposed to cashing in for Small Electrics or Normal Wiring. For the previous 2 days there’s been a cap on the number of projects that can be handed in (but no mention of capping the number of Blueprints earned from Projects) – hence my decision to hold out for the biggest Blueprint payout (Major Widget). Is there actually any point then in having the Major Widget project?? Is there any advantage then of saving up to cash in against only Major Widgets?? Thanks
Just getting more Blueprints is all.
If I’m not mistaken, this means you are better off doing the first project (the small one) repeatedly. Whilst it will cost more resources, the project points are capped anyway.
Completing more projects however equals more free donuts…! So cheap projects rather than saving up for the big ones I think!!!!
Stefan – I came to the same conclusion
I got locked out of tasks today at 4200. I thought it was 4500?
It is the overall amount. If you got 300 extra yesterday… that deducted from today. For instance, if you pushed the limit and earned 4800 yesterday, that did impact the total for today. (see this very post you are commenting on.) 😉
Ah! That makes sense! Totally missed that little part! Thanks for the help.
Don’t want to throw a spanner in your mathematical works but here’s what happened to me yesterday….. I was about 1,000 blueprints away from the next prize, (station piece pack) …..and I had a choice of three projects on the board, the biggest of the three would give me my 1,000 blueprints 🙂 great.
I didn’t have time to mess with station design so I had lunch, tapped possums, visited neighbours, came here, etc.etc.
When I came back a few hours later to turn in project and win my prize, I got the projects completed screen.
So blueprints from either possums, or neighbour visits, or clearing visits in my town had put me over the capped amount.
So I still think we’re missing something here.
Don’t know where my capped amount will be today as I got my prize with donuts
Don’t think anyone else has mentioned this, but it’s something to look out for
🚝 ♻ 🍩 🙂
I just received 1800 blueprints in the daily challenge, for turning in 3 projects. This changes the math, it might even get higher as the event continues.
Bonus will change. 🙂
I just did the daily challenge. I got 1800 blueprints for turning in 3 projects. I assume this might even get higher in the following days. So this changes some things I guess.
Yup
Hey Girls! Thank you very much for this fantastic post! Your efforts to keep us overexcited, rowdy players docile is really astonishing. 🙂 What I wonder is how EA is not employing you yet, I can only speak for myself but I think I am not alone with this; if not for this site I think I would have quit the game 10 times over already no matter how much a fan I am. 🙂
I have been wondering something since yesterday and now it happened. Today you need 3 turn ins to get the bonus 1200 Blueprints … what happens if someone hits the cap with two turn ins? Does he/she loose the chance to get the bonus?
For us aware of the restriction its easy to work around with doing 3 small turn ins but yeah I am one of those freaks who bother themselves with such seemingly unimportant details. 🙂
Lol. People asks us that all the time. “When will EA hire you?”
Good Questions. We are still playing round with it to see for ourselves what happens. As far as the Daily Bonus amount… it is not always 1200… it will increase. Still working on stats and details for that one. 😉
Looks like 600 bonus blueprints per project for now. Hand in 2 projects – get 1200. today hand in 3 – get 1800. Just a working hypothesis for now.
😉
With the donut bonus tasks is it better to do the lower earning tasks on the project board so you complete more projects per day rather than the bigger earning tasks?
Given the cap is at 4500 blueprints per day anyway.
I would say little as you need 10, but in the end up to you. 😉
With all this talk about daily caps, confusion when they kick in, etc…
I was wondering what the largest totals anyone is getting out of the project board in a given day? Anyone getting SUBSTANTIALLY more than the apparent (rollover) cap of 4500??? Like 6000, 7000 or more?
>
Hi. Can someone help? When i go to a neighbours town and press the i I dont get the msg ” you get x donuts for next y actions”. But a plain drop garbage in neighbour etc… And i also bought the license to increse to 12 bprints… Any ideas? Tnx
Then you’re out of actions for the day. And it’s blueprints… not donuts. 😉
Thank you for this information. The limit is frustrating but good to see its cumulative so I don’t miss out if I am distracted by real life.
What is annoying is none of the characters earn event related points like blueprints for their event linked tasks like Homer and Jessie. So when the project board is full and the recycling yards and the dump I can’t earn more. What this does allow for is a catch up on Springfield Heights and other none event tasks I am still working on . this does add something to the event which previous ones lacked.
im sooooooo beyond confused. are the only things unlocked so far the trash dump and metal recycler? i shouldnt be gettting any other even currency yet correct? my mono rail looks like this —- lol
As of right now only the dump and metal buildings are available. More will come as the event progresses.
I don’t like EA’s change on the updates. All that Crafting thing is just tedious I can’t be every hour checking the trash and SP.It is more simple to have a x hour task that gives you more. Yes i know SP is staying forever BUT This is an event and i don’t think i’m going to play too much. The only thing i want from the event is the character 🙁 . Hopefully the next part turns better.
You should make a post telling us where to put the monorail station pieces.
I was thinking this too! I spent ten minutes monkeying around with them earlier and couldn’t make it make a whole lot of visual sense
How could they do that when everyone’s Springfield is laid out differently?
I think OP meant those 4 pieces of building add ons that you get awarded that includes a piece with the stairs.
Yeah, like the stairs and all those add ons
I understand they want the act to last longer, but I have to say this cap is boring the event. Today I reached it a few minutes after the timer reset. 😛
I can’t tap my trashed buildings it freezes up every time
Which Buildings? I am tracking the issue and looking into it.
All my mine and house’s
Try to see if it is a memory drain issue.
Disable Monorail. Pull the track pieces away.
Store NPC’S and any other animated items not in use. Don’t push the 4500 limit. Keep non essential Characters on indoor task or store them in your inventory.
See if this helps and lets you tap again.
Thanks for trying to help me figure this out but I tried it and I still cant tap my trashed buildings and houses it still freezes. I haven’t been able to click on mine since they started this update
Looks like EA is the next step. They may have to roll you back.
Ok thanks so much for trying to help
Hi bunny, does this new understanding mean you will redraw your calendar?
Nope. It’s still valid. As long as you’re close to the totals by the time the Act is coming to an end… You’ll still be on target.
Like it says right above up top. Progression is always slow at first… then you gain as the Event plays on.
Thanks for the info… On a side note two more glitches I’ve seen, I don’t get my bonzais and my store randomly says there are 30-40 new items for purchase
Do you mean on Akira’s task? If so, others have reported it.
This post was very helpful. Answered the couple questions I had. Thanks for taking the time to break it down as much as you did. I’m really enjoying this event so far. So many possibilities going through my head. There’s going to be a lot of tweaking to my Springfield going on so the pace of the event is just fine with me. I’d go crazy if I had to tear everything up all at once.
Thanks for the good work on the post!
There should still be time to catch up.
Crunching some rough numbers:
4500/day from the project board
+1200 (bonus)
+540 (6*90 friend actions)
+300 (100 friends *3 visits)
+480 (10*8 possums *6)
gives you a daily maximum of 7020. +4500 for the final 4 days.
Give a max Freemium total of 102240 blueprints….
More realistically, cutting out the friends visiting your town (since you can’t control that) and clicking the possums 3 times a day, because sleep etc) gives you 100080 blueprints.
If you started today, you would lose out on 2400 (bonuses), 480 (possums), 1080 (friend actions); but 9000 (project board) would carry over leaving you with an achievable goal of 96120. 6767 more than is needed for the final prize.
Good luck, happy tapping.
So does it make sense to do several “cheap” projects to hit the bonus project limit quicker, since it’s a blueprints limit and not a projects limit per day?
I kinda enjoy the stink lines in my town. I should say I enjoy cleaning up the stink lines, that is. Also, as a railroad worker it is quietly satisfying for me to have an equivalent in my Springfield now, too
@Bunny—thanks for all the info & the calendar)—really gives you an idea of where you are in the event. Regarding an earlier comment about the 4500 max decorations, any chance they increase this cap? Especially w/the heights, a lot of new content. Just curious. Thanks!
Dunno. Hope so.
Game is definitely doing some buggy things with respect to the blue prints. Earlier today I capped out on blueprints from project board hand ins. ( which means I definitely got my 2/2 bonus way earlier by like 8 .a.m.) then I just now a few mins ago went to get my blueprints from friend actions. I did until they no longer gave me blueprints, just f.p. and x.p. I had around 20k blue prints before doing friend actions and when I went back to my town I was down to 18,270 blueprints. But, I was able to turn in one” hand in” on the project board for a thousand something blueprints and at same time completed 2/2 for the day again and gave me the bonus 1200 blueprints again. Anyone else seeing this?
If you gain Blueprints in neighbors… but lose them when you get back to Springfield… contact EA right away.
this happened to me, minus visiting friends and losing blueprints. i haven’t been keeping track of my exact totals, but i hit the cap handing in my 4th project of the day (buttons say completed and turned grey). closed out of the app for a bit, and when i logged back in, i saw that my daily projects to hand in had been reset, along with the project board allowing me to hand in projects again. i’m fairly certain i haven’t lost any blueprints though…
My game keeps freezing. In one hour 4 times! (This is after I read the post about uninstalling and re installing the game) I also clear the cache regularly, I have no idea what reason there is for my game to keep freezing. If I do get to keep playing through this event I don’t know how what to do when my landfill is full.
Highly active Event. Help the Memory Drain.
Disable Monorail. Pull the track pieces away.
Store NPC’S and any other animated items not in use. Don’t push the 4500 limit. Keep non essential Characters on indoor task or store them in your inventory.
Since the appearance of the Monorail challenge I cannot buy anymore decoration for Springfield heights, they have disapeared!?! And I need to spend some armchairs! Any idea where I can retrieve them from? Thanks
Open the store. then swipe right on the little yellow arrow to open everything up. You’ll see the SH menu on the top right.
i have loved every update so far until now. so buggy my game crashes every ten minutes. i was cool with heights this is confusing and buggy and ughhhhhhhh. sorry to whine guys it annoyed the poo out of me when other people did but holy crap this is bed…
My game is SUPER glitchy. Too much going on. Springfield Heights needs to go away. It was fun but I’m over it.
