Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Ok so back to this Project Board/Blueprint mess that we’re all hitting. Once you reach a certain number of Blueprints awarded from the Project Board it blocks you from earning any more blueprints via the Project Board. As I promised in yesterday’s post, I ran the Project Board again today in my town and have some new results and analysis from my own game. Hopefully this will help shed some more light on the situation for everyone….
So let’s get into it shall we?
First, let me preface this by saying this is my own interpretation from what I’m seeing in the game vs. what I’m seeing in the files. This is not necessarily the be all to end all of information. This is simply what I’m interpreting from what I’m seeing in my own play and your comments….
As I wrote yesterday the stop in the ability to turn in materials to the Project Board itself isn’t a glitch. It’s intended. Evidence of it being intended is right in the game itself…
If it was a glitch it the verbiage of Sebastian Cobb needing a rest would not be in the game. That in itself shows you that it’s intended to be there.
Second, this is NOT a cap on the total Blueprints you can earn. Some people out there are confusing a Project Board Cap with a Blueprint total cap. There is no cap on the maximum number of Blueprints you can earn in a day. Remember, you can earn Blueprints via Possums (10 for everyone you squish..and at it’s basic form you’ll get 8/4hrs) and you can earn Blueprints from Visiting Neighbors (6/tap…so if you do 3 taps/neighbor that’s 18/town. And the actions do cap at 90 actions (30 neighbors). Now the game says 90 actions. If you tap on the i when you’re in a neighbor’s town it’ll tell you how many actions you have left:
You will also earn Blueprints for clearing the buildings your neighbors dumped on in your town (1/building you clear).
Also, it’s IMPORTANT for you to realize that IF you spend donuts to speed up the prize track (for example if you spent 30 donuts to rush and get the Monorail Station built) those Blueprints that are required for it (so in the Monorail Station case 3,000) will be added to your total Blueprint Count. (just like it’s worked for EVERY event in the past). And some of these lower level prizes (like Monorail Station, Tracks etc) aren’t that expensive in donut cost. So there are a lot of people rushing the first few. So if you see a neighbor with 30,000+ Blueprints (or a high number) it’s most likely because they rushed the prize track with donuts. The Blueprint total a neighbor (or you) have has nothing to do with the Project Board Cap. So don’t go by totals.
The only way to track what you’re earning from the Project Board is to write down what each payout is for each project you turn in. If you try to go by the total amount you’ll be completely off.
So now let’s get into today’s results…
Yesterday I had said the cap for today (August 13th) is 13,500. I took that to mean that we’d get 13,500 Blueprints from the Project Board today before capping out. However, I did say let me test it before we know for sure. And I can tell you my initial interpretation was incorrect.
Let me give you today’s results and then I’ll explain a little further. Today’s numbers were:
312
497
372
374
558
20
2240
+1200 Bonus
For a total of 5,573
So the 13,500 number for today has been busted (and may of you pointed this out today as well).
So here’s my analysis of it all….
Initially I thought the cap indicated in the files was a cap per day. Meaning you can earn x amount on this day. Instead what it appears to be is a running total of what you can earn MAX from the Project Board by that certain day. If you skip a day, or don’t max out for that day, it’ll carry over to the total allowed for the next day. Which is why yesterday when I ran it I got 8,168 just from turning in projects..because the day before (the first day of the event) I didn’t cap out. So the balance from the 11th carried over to the 12th. Make sense so far?
To break it down even further…
You’re allowed to earn 4,500 Blueprints from JUST turning in projects/day. Each day is a running total. So if you miss a day or don’t max out you can make it up the next day.
So here are a few totals:
8/11- 4,500
8/12- 9,000 (4,500 more than 8/11)
8/13- 13,500 (4,500 more than 8/12)
8/14- 18,000 (4,500 more than 8/13)
So again, it’s a running total and NOT an individual per day cap. The cap per day is set at 4,500.
Note: The last 4 days of Act 1 (August 19th-22nd) the cap increases to 9,000/day.
But note it’s not a hard 4,500. You can go slightly over it each day (depending on the projects you do) from what I’m seeing…BUT if you go over it the previous day, the next days amount will be lower. (which is what I saw in my game Yesterday’s total went about 200 over and today’s was about 200 under)
As far as the bonus you earn each day for completing the challenge…initially I thought it counted towards your Cap for the day. However, I now don’t think that’s the case. I think it’s a bonus and you earn that on top of the cap. At least that’s what I’m seeing from today’s numbers and yesterdays.
I’m going to run it one more day and see if these theories pan out tomorrow. Once I do I’ll get you guys the total cap for Act 1 from the Project Board, as well as breakdown the rest of the math (and daily bonuses). But to sum it all up think of it as getting roughly 4,500 Blueprints JUST FROM TURNING IN PROJECTS ON THE PROJECT BOARD/day. Anything you get from the daily bonus, possums or neighbors is Blueprints you earn on top of that cap. So with those adjustments it is possible to earn all of the prizes by the end…but it’ll be close. For many it’ll go right down to the wire.
Again Note: The last 4 days of Act 1 (August 19th-22nd) the cap increases to 9,000/day.
Bottom line: If you want ALL the prizes, you can’t just rely on the Project Board. You need to clear Possums, visit friends etc to earn it all.
What are your thoughts on the new Project Board Interpretation? Are the numbers your getting matching up to what we’re seeing? Anything you’re still confused on? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I’ve noticed no one I’m dumping garbage in my friends towns are being given back and there towns are nearly full of trash which leads me to believe that I have yet another glitch. And EA games did not fix the first couple that they said they were going to fix nor have I been awarded the extra 1,200 bonus for reaching maxiumum projects.***
Glitch… or lack of active neighbors going to the “S” if that is what your Origin name is.
Friend request go on the proper place please.

The blueprint payouts on the task board are all in the single digits for me today. I don’t get it. I’m supposed to keep handing in tasks that earn 2 blueprints?
You have to clear some, as you clear some higher value ones will appear. The last one is usually where the highest value ones will appear.
I hope this isnt a sign of things to come, this event doesn’t have much in the way of gameplay. Past events had more to do, this limit just prevents people playing the way they want to play.
Couple that with the lack of prizes and this is probably my least favourite event.
this cap stinks. i am done in 20 seconds & the numbers really don’t add up and cannot do anything more for another 24 hours. Greatly disappointed. Only turns in 3 projects at less than 500 blue prints total and that was it. all the cummulative 4500 per day is purely bullsiit.
Same happened to me. I am completely confused what boxes to tap – one of each?? A bunch of the smaller payouts??? Or wait for only the big ones? Today i tried a few of the smaller ones and was stopped after 20 seconds and could only tap 3 or 4 with payouts approx 400-500 ea , so today all i coukd earn was 1800 approx bluprints – and no bonus either!! I hate this event:( so confused.
I was a bit confused too… I was at part 3 of the quest that gives 2 free donuts once 10 projects had been completed, and had some very small projects in the board today. So, I’m like “I’ll start doing all these super small ones to fulfill my 8 needed”…I was able to blast through those with the currency I’d built up from the night before and shortly after do some big projects to get up to the daily cap.
(And yes, I got the two tasty treats of frosted/sprinkled goodness! 🍩🍩)
Just try not to rush…or think you need to be going faster. As they say on American Airlines “…sit back, relax and enjoy the ride”
>
Between the heights’ tasks and the blueprints- I’m very busy. Thank you for your insight. These 2 quests can be overwhelming and were taking over much of my time – holland2021.
When can you unlock the other two depots
They’re not in the game yet
How do I get the monorail or blueprints? I have not seen either one, I cannot even seem to get the real estate prt going as I am still only able to get like 29 carpet. I know I don’t play more than once or twice a day for maybe an hour. I also only have like 19 friends need them help and advice. Please send active player names to email.
First, make sure you’ve downloaded the Monorail update from the app store. You’ll know you downloaded it because the splash screen of your game (the loading page) will show Homer on the Monorail…
Second, more details about unlocking everything can be found here

So, yes, this is a “different” approach to their usual events. I’m sure there is more coming. I think this is a “project” event, like the SpringField Heights. Ok, so there are caps to the blueprints. They are also working on The Heights’ building glitch, which seems to be messing with other things. We have 34 days for this event. I’m quite sure there is more to come. They have dumped a lot of new material in our towns in the last few weeks, lets give it a chance to percolate. 🙂
Thanks so much for the clarification and breakdown. I’m still annoyed there is a cap on the amount of projects you can turn in. I’d like to get as many tracks as possible to be able to go around my whole town, which is petty large, and I’m thinking it might not be possible. But there’s still a lot of the event left to go.
I’m of the same mind as Franz. With most events I know if I work hard at it I will reap the rewards. This event cap on project hand ins is a disincentive to the most attentive, dare I say addicted? players. My clock resets 6pm my time & by 7.15 pm I’m done with both my towns as far as the project board goes.
At least I’m not up twice a night to reset with this event. I kind of miss that.
All I do now is max out the recycle buildings before bedtime & reset the 4hrs (station & I stupidly bought the overpriced recycle plant) Then from 6am await 6pm, with only friend visits to break the monotony.
Sorry EA; But so far this event does not reward regular players, & seems to be pandering to the moaners who complain they couldn’t complete an event (whilst only visiting their town once a week at best) I may be old but I thought hard work was rewarded? I’m really hating this event.
I agree it’s a bit slow going, as I’ve been on holiday from work this past week with all day to tap…..but I’m not complaining as I know that when I’m back at work, I won’t be able to tap for 10 – 12 hours each day and I’ll soon fall behind
EA have to take into account the fact that everyone doesn’t have all day just for tapping, there’s real life too. Don’t encourage them to make it harder 🙂
I was so bummed when I didn’t earn all the prizes in tap ball’s first act! It was my first event. I’ll be very disappointed to fail this one too. I’m relieved that I’ve hit the max, but still worried that you say it’ll still be close!
If you check out the math post, it’s actually pretty easy to hit it all
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/08/14/monorail-math/
I have finished the projects tasks in both of my towns but in one of them I no longer have the donut icon in the task bar. Hoping you might have an answer for me! Thanks
See the main walkthrough. Only 3 parts. You complete them and that’s it. 😉
http://tstoaddicts.com/2015/08/12/turbo-tappin-the-monorail-act-1/
I understand that, on my A game it says he’s resting but in my B game it says to keep handing them in but the bonuts icon is not there
I’d contact EA
Thanks didn’t know about the max only started playing a few months ago.
i don’t seem to be getting any more blueprints after visiting My neighbours. I don’t think it’s part of the restriction because I’m still able to use the project board
Just like past Events… you have limits on Neighbor Actions. This Event.. 90 MAX in 24hrs.
I’m almost always positive on here as I love the game and look for the good side of it… Not this post.
Seems most of us agree; the restriction on blueprints is a bad idea and seems at odds with how most events I played. I’ve been playing for about a year and a half and am premium; I’ve spent $100’s on it.
In other events, if I logged in more often and spent more time in my game, I could get more event currency and then get more stuff. The cap messes that up and encourages us to just not play that much. I mean really, why bother going in more that a few time a day?!? There’s no benefit.
So, sign in, possums, a few trash, a few metal, a few projects, sign off. Yawn!
I was excited about the event when it hit, now I’m just disappointed.
Hope the gameplay changes soon or they make the cap be a lot higher. Like a lot.
At least if we could buy other stuff with the trash and metal or allow us to upgrade buildings, or something. But no, the resources are useless too once we hit the cap.
Bad form EA, bad form.
I feel that this event helps to maintain my sanity as it forced me to stop playing. I feel this is good in a way.
This project board cap is B.S.!!! I’ve already done my friend visits and I’ve maxed out my project board all before 12:30 this morning! All of my storage is full. How the hell are we supposed to be able to unlock everything in time if we waste half the day because we CANT DO ANYTHING?!
Instead of Panicking… jumping on the pitchfork and torches committee… step back, breathe, relax… don’t read too much into something that just started. These things are thought out.
Here… this will help. 😉

Any chance you guys are planning a post on blueprint/project board strategy? I’ve seen a few interesting theories in the comments on how to maximize the free donuts earned and I’d be eager to see what you guys (the experts!) thought.
I did a few very quick calculations and it seems like each of the three “small” “medium” “large” projects all pay out 12.4-12.8~ blueprints per metal unit. So, all things being relatively equal, seems like a good strategy to go with only small projects to fulfill the free donut task. Or do the free donut tasks cap out, too?
You only get 3 task pop ups total this Act for donuts. More may come next one. But 3 and done.
Kind of stinks. I mean it is 1pm EST and I’m maxed out. I visit neighbors and do the possums and ahead of the calendar. But I guess this gives me time to work on the Heights.
I kinda like the idea of a daily limit for blueprints. It makes the event currency come at a steady level. It does seem bizarrely at-odds with the Springfield Heights-style of collecting trash and metal. On one hand: tap tap tap, rush rush rush. On the other hand: oh, you can’t do anything else today.
I was capped out today at 2000. On my last one I had 3 pay out options 962, 12 and 6. I needed 5 more metal to get the 962 which would of been ready in 4 minutes. So I traded in my trash cans for the 12 prints while I waited. Bad idea!! Now I’m maxed out for the day. Seems stupid that they would put a max. Now I have no reason to log in today except to collect the possums.
Since my storage is always full through the day Ive been completing the project board in the first hour of the day. I’ll be hard pressed to get my 8000 today. Sounds like a donut grab to me.
The blueprint restrictions are far too severe.
Unlike previous events EA have made it impossible (without paying a lot of money) to play a bit more now in anticipation of some days off when busy later.
Very disappointed a cool event has been ruined with unnecessary restrictions.
Is seen EA is still trying to find a balance of how much work players want to do during the event. After the constant attention the Terwilliger required the tap ball event was much less stressful. This one seem nice and relaxing.
Well, today I decided to do my own little Project Board experiment, and I’m not too happy with the results. For the first few days, I was just doing the largest projects, and it locked me out after just 2 projects (both were over 2000 blueprints).
So today, in order to get the donut bonus for completing 10 projects, I did some smaller projects. Here’s the results:
6 projects for 2585 blueprints
1 daily bonus for 1800 blueprints
18 possums for 180 blueprints
And I got shut down for the rest of the day…so I have to believe that the daily bonus is built into the cap, which really stinks in my opinion. I’m strongly in the camp of those people who feel that if this was intentional, it should have been clearly spelled out in the instructions.
There are a lot of days left in Phase 1, so it’s too early to get concerned about getting all of the prizes, but it’s been a really frustrating start to an event for which we’ve all been waiting a long time. 🙁
anyone else have the bonuts task disappear this morning? I was 4 projects away from free doughnuts yesterday but no option to earn them today.
It ends after part 3. Do you remember what part you were on?
I was on part 3 project 6
This takes a lot of the fun out of the game! I’ve already maxed out for day… Today is my Saturday…. I was looking forward to working on this throughout the day. Oh wel… Guess I’ll go outside…. 🙂
Capped out already on project board .. I wrote everything down this time and thus is my result I turned in a ( 949 + 1939 + 11 ) + 1800 bonus for completing 3/3 daily bonus and 80 b.prints for possums both shouldn’t count towards the total cap for project board. I started day with 26,895 and now have 31,674 ☆important to note☆ that when I exited game I had not capped out yet on project board, I was figuring I still had around another 1500 b.p’s to get before that. So I was waiting to recycle more cans so I could hand in more items, but hour layer I returned to game and when I found to my dismay that project board was capped already! Come on E.A. I just bought another 900 donuts. Get with it.lol. anyone else seeing these type of discrepancies?
My game is completely frozen, on both my phone and kindle. Is it time to contact EA? I keep hoping the issue will work itself out. I’ve rebooted, reinstalled, etc. already, but no change.
If you cant get in on any device… yah. Just keep in mind if they roll your game back, make sure they replace any items you lost.
Hi, so far I’ve gotten and completed 2 donut-reward tasks asking me to produce 100 cans and finish 10 orders. But I don’t have a new donut-rewarding task. Is two all we get during this act of the event or should I be getting more? Thanks for your help!
3 parts and done. Thats it
I capped out below 4,000 today (not including the 1800 bonus). Thought I would walk it up to 4,000 and then hit it for a big project and lots of blueprints but sadly reached around 3,900 and found I was locked out till tomorrow.
I did not pay too much attention yesterday but it was around 4.500-5000 achieved so that must have deducted from today’s cap. Seems a strange way to run this event with little ability play a lot and achieve bonus materials after reaching the final prize.
That’s my biggest gripe too! If I play more regularly and spend more time in my game, I should be rewarded for it.
The truth is that most of us that play a lot spend more donuts, so EA is pissing off their premium players. It’s so at odds wit the other events I’ve played.
Must’ve been the same thing that happened to me yesterday…when I was starring at a 2000+ project, and a lower one…I thought I’d build towards free donuts and then hit the 2000+, but then that was the end of my “project board” for the day 🙁
