Back with another edition of Addicts Question Corner, this time addressing your Act 2 concerns.
This post is based around the most common questions we’re seeing asked in the comments. And it’s designed to help you understand the event a little bit better..or at the very least make you feel like you’re not going crazy with an issue you’re having. So…if you’re stuck somewhere, seeing something strange or just not sure what’s going on read this post first. If you don’t see the help then ask your question. I’m going to try and address every major question we’re seeing in this one post. So hopefully this will help those that are still stuck/confused out.
Let’s get to it…
First let me start by saying…we’ve got two other Question Corner posts written for Act One. So if you don’t see your problem addressed here, check those posts out first…there’s a good chance it was covered there. They can be found here and here
Now let’s start with the number one question we’ve been seeing in the comments for the last day….
My Characters Look “Cloudy/Pixelated” outside of Moe’s/Simpson House/Kwik-E-Mart/Krusty Burger. What’s wrong with my game? Is it Broken?
No. I promise. Your game is NOT broken. This is intentional. It’s part of the animation for the action at that location, it’s meant to look like the adults are doing something..well…”adult”. So if you see these images:
Relax…your game’s not broken. It’s working as it’s supposed to.
If I Buy Luann, will I get her Squirrel Costume for Free?
No. As of this very moment, there is no Squirrel Costume in the game. That look from this image…
Is part of the task associated with Everscream Terrors and will leave once the event is over. So yes, you can see this task if you buy Luann, but no you won’t get a free costume for her.
Fairy Kodos is Stuck on the Flirt Task, How Do I Fix This?
We’re seeing this one a bit in the comments. Readers have advised that it has to do with the Facade on the Simpson’s House. If it’s set to Everscream Terrors you can’t clear it. So what you’ll need to do is tap on Everscream Terros and chance the Facade back to the Simpson’s House. That should allow you to clear the task…
I’ve Completed Parts 1 and 2 of The Very Young Folk, But I Still Can’t Get The Springfield Horror to Start. All of My Characters Are Free.
Make sure you’ve completed EVERYTHING associated with the main questline for Act 1…including the last task that pops up for Homer titled The Unspeakable. We’re seeing readers with this issue, but then realizing that they didn’t complete that one task. Once it’s completed you can move onto The Springfield Horror. (It’s an 8hr task for Homer to Wait Impatiently)
I Can’t Get the Facades To Go On My Kwik-E-Mart or Krusty Burger.
We’re seeing this popup a bit now too. Often it’s related to having too many Kwik-E-Marts or Krusty Burgers in your town. What we suggest doing is store or sell all the Kwik-E-Marts and Krusty Burgers you have and then place only 1, the one that’s associated with the character. That should trigger the Facade to come up.
If you only have 1 Kwik-E-Mart or Krusty Burger…store/sell it and see if that triggers it to work.
If it doesn’t, contact EA.
I’m Tapping Nightmares But My Level Up Meter Isn’t Rising.
First, make sure you’re tapping the correct nightmare. I know some of you are still having trouble with this. We’ve got loads of details on how to upgrade on this post.
If you’re familiar with the upgrade process and haven’t had any issues so far….I think this is a glitch. I honestly can’t duplicate it in my game. I’m collecting snakes, and everyone I tap causes my snake counter to rise. I would say try a hard close/visit to Krustyland/visit to a neighbor to try and resync your game and see if that helps it (i usually hard close out of my game when I exit). If it doesn’t, then I’d contact EA.
Why am I Not Earning Gummies from Neighbors?
Because, just like s’mores, you won’t earn prize currency from neighbors. Only crafting currency.
If you’re wondering why you’re not getting crafting currency from neighbors…it’s probably because you’ve maxed out your neighbor actions for the day. Remember you only get 90/day. More details on neighbor actions on this post.
When Does Act 2 End?
Act 2 ends on November 4th at 0800GMT (3am EDT…Daylight Savings Ends in the US on Nov. 1st)
Will My Gummies Still Be There When Act 2 Ends?
No. Once Act 2 ends your Gummies will disappear and any prizes you have not yet earned will be available for purchase via donuts only.
Will You be Doing A ________ Post?
As always, lots of posts are still coming. Just trying to focus on addressing the issues/questions we’re seeing in the comments most often first. Then we’ll jump on more specific posts (like Should I Buys etc). Lots more coming…I promise.

Okay, I’m not crazy. My mausoleum sometimes spawns things other than skeletons. I have had bunnies and just now snakes. Not sure about the bunnies but for sure my campfire is currently spawning snakes and yes, the snakes that appeared definitely came from the mausoleum and not the fire or other.
Mine has too.
I’m disappointed that the skins for Moe’s and the Kill-E-Mart are so similar. I think they could have been more creative. I love Everscream Terrace though. I also hate the pixellation. They could have kept it but not made it so large/overwhelming of the character itself.
This would be neat for a little known factoid corner, but after Carl got done at Moe’s, there was a brief second that showed him on his pogo stick without the blur. It would be neat to find out what other animations were re-purposed for this series of tasks

Just downloaded update and the campfire has stopped spawning bunnies. In fact there is not a bunny to be seen. Anyone else having this problem? Currently waiting to be connected to a CA. (Was supposed to be 5 min wait – 15 mins ago…)
Has the update today changed anything with the Wailing Walls? I am reluctant to update, in case EA has desided made a change in their price or function, until I have aquired quite a few more.
Thanks. I have been playing just short of 2 years and have enjoyed this event more than others. There’s plenty to do but not over whelming. Also many prize options and of course Kodos and clock work Bart!!

Honestly, dropping nightmares is such a chore. Every other town is full already, time wasted as the screen zig zags across the town with each drop, and (for me) the load time between each neighbor…just not worth it.

I love the facades and all the pixelated graphics! No offense to who posted this article but i believe there is a dif meaning between pixilated and pixelated. I could be wrong though. Anyway… How does one go about unlocking kangs’ and kodos’ task at the spaceship? Someone aforementioned that there existed such.
There is..but they both kinda work. Pixelated means you see the pixels/distort them. Pixilated means confused or crazy…
Stupid me, I thought it meant you’d been turned into a pixie with a pixie-ray gun 🎃 😀
I do carry around some pixie dust in my back pocket. But that’s only for emergency flying situations….
Plus it’s hard to think of happy thoughts when you have a small child trying to kick their way out of you 😉

Do you have to complete something in order for your game to have this new task? Ive logged in and out and I still dont have the prompt to start this!

Really digging the Wailing Walls glitch. Is this even a glitch? It’s so similar to the tennis courts thing, it makes you wonder if it’s not on purpose.
A 2.25% payout bonus with every wall? Yes please. Crafted 12 right away since I’d saved up so many zombie brains. 27% bonus, thankuverymuch. I’ll take it.
I know, right? If EA can learn from their past, which was not that long ago, you’d think they would have not allowed this “mistake” to happen after the “tennis court incident”. Therefore, I conclude that it’s not a mistake, and further conclude that EA approves of “this type of gameplay”.
I bought 20 or so tennis courts, but stopped for various reasons. While I see the similar potential with the Wailing Walls, I just don’t feel the same drive to get them and bump up my bonus. I got 2 so far. But since I like the spooky walls and some of the other crafts, and I know I want to save some resources for Act 3 (at least 900 of 2 types), I’m just not going to go crazy on getting these. If it works out, I’ll get just that many that I do. We’ll see.
I personally think they’ve learned that the more they give away, percentage multipliers as well as donuts, the more money they make.
25 donuts a week during Halloween? I think people get a few freebies and the think, “Eh. I’m only x number of donuts away from this thing I want. I think I’ll buy some scratchers or a truck full….since EA has been so generous.”

I’ve noticed (I have three Kwik-E-Marts in my town) that when the one with the façade won’t allow me to set jobs, one of the other ones will. I did not farm any particular building, so I’m guessing if you only have a few it may not be a big issue. . . . but I thought I would mention in case it helps someone else! So, if the Kill-E-Mart won’t let you set Gummie jobs, try one of the other buildings
When I send my kids to the campfire I don’t get gummies, just 45XP. I’ve tried going to krusty land and hard closing, but I only get gummies from Bart when I send him to the camp fire everyone else only gives me XP

I have to say, the pixilation on the characters is terrible. It looks like they’re wearing big fuzzy mascot outfits without the heads. Overkill, to say the least.
This morning the challenge to upgrade my campfire said -38/5…?
Do you think theres any chance we will get more old hw costumes for sale? Hoping for witch marge and vampire burns.
For the upgrade thing, try hard closing and restarting.
For the costumes…you’ll have to wait and see what the next 4 weeks bring..
Does anyone else agree they would rather not have the character show outside, than have the pixalated image? I understand what they were going for, but it just looks terrible imo.
Other than that I have absolutely loved the Halloween event this year. The facades for the buildings are especially awesome!
Kind of OT, but I’m curious… For those of you who have just been leveling up your campfires via normal play (not spending donuts on it or something less legit), what level is your campfire up to? Mine’s at Level 27, which I think is probably good, but not terribly above average (if at all).
I’m currently debating whether to pull some of my kids away from the campfire to work on recycling, since they don’t earn that many nightmares anyway, now that my campfire itself is spawning nightmares at a pretty decent rate (and I’m ahead of where the calendar days I need to be).
26 today I think. No extra effort, I reset the campfire in the AM, at lunch and after work. Sometimes I get a fourth in – but not always. I have lots of kids though, I think I’m only missing 4 premium… maybe 5

Level 24 Sandra . Not panicking about levelling up so much , trying to build up my brains total as it’s below all the others . Don’t know if it’s just me but there seems to have been a bias . I noticed since the beginning of the event that I was getting less brains . May have been written in to the programming as we all want to use them for walls? Anyone else seen the same or is it just me ?

Thank you all for your responses…it really did help me prioritize my tasks today! It seems I’m maybe doing a bit better than I thought with the upgrades, so I didn’t mind pulling some kids off to work at the recycling sheds. I still managed to make my daily campfire upgrade, but we’ll see if it did anything to show tomorrow’s (though I’m okay if it did).
These “greatest hits” posts are really great….just wish there was some way to pin them to the top of the posts list, because some people (the same kinds of people who ask questions that have been asked and answered a thousand times already) just won’t read anything other than the first article on the page before they go asking one of these questions. I know that, at least, it gives you a link you can just answer them with, but it would be even better if you didn’t have to moderate and respond to these mega-repeats in the first place!
(Have to say, I’m surprised by how many people didn’t get the pixelation thing….)
There is…the problem is when we do that people don’t scroll down and look at the other posts. So then questions are asked on the post pinned at the top about stuff we wrote about below it.

The way I look at it is that this is a public forum meant for group discussions. I welcome anyone to chime in anytime in any “conversation” I’m having here, as long as what you have to say is polite and more or less relevant to the discussion on hand.

Nope. I honestly just recommend you play and have fun. Don’t worry about what’s coming. Get what you want now. Or just wait until the event is about to end and craft everything you want then (since crafting items from Act 1 and 2 will carry over)

Just to clarify: should all 4 of the facades unlock at the same time? Or is there a trigger point in the questline? (I’m imagining that the associated character has to be free, i.e. Moe, Krusty, Apu, Homer) I have the facade for Everscream Terrace but the others aren’t there (and YES I did troubleshoot using your recommendations above. 🙂 I have no duplicate buildings and I’ve tried storing, etc.) I just wanted to make sure that I read this correctly: should all 4 facades be available immediately? Or are the others coming later?

I got Kodos from crafting in this THOH act 2, because i was on hiatus playing tsto before and i regret it.. 🙁
I realized that if i craft Kodos, she’s missing 24h task that require Crashed UFO, so i wonder the Fairy Kodos costume, is it has 24h task? is it worthed to buy it? because i collect the Donuts with so much patient.

Honestly, I haven’t even looked at Fairy Kodos yet. Haven’t purchased for evaluation, because I’m working on other posts. So I couldn’t even tell you her task times….but I should have the Should I buy post up before the end of this week…
24 hour job with fairy costume requires Smithers but is the best in the game yet. Even better than Homer with the doughnut device
Olah to all! I have a question… How does one unlock the kang/kodos quest that has to do with the victorian spaceship? I was told there is a job that pertains to the aforementioned space ship.?.
Do you have the ship? If you do I believe it’s just via the questline.
Thanks for all your hard work. I just want to vent about Brandy and her kids. You wait 90 long days to birth each kid and then cannot use them for anything but to get money!! I think the community needs to complain to EA especially in an event where every kid counts. Thanks and best wishes with the baby 🙂

It sounds similar to 90 day corn at Cletus’ Farm. Some people do it. Neither are particularly worth it.
It might make sense that those kids can help, but they’re NPCs, the same as other, um, animals… Maybe EA considers them to be “animals”. heh.
