Just a quick note to let you know several items have made their way back to our stores today….
We will not be doing new Should I Buy posts for these items, as we’ve covered just about all of them at one point or another on the site. So this post is your main spot to determine if these items are worth your donuts.
So what’s returned? Let’s take a look….
Heck House- 40 Donuts. Facade for Springfield Church. Should I Buy
Portal to Rigel 7- 75 Donuts. From Halloween 2014, was useful then. Now, not so much. Should I Buy
Rigellian Queen- 100 Donuts. Prize from Halloween 2014. Just a decoration. Kodos and Kang do have a task here. More info.
Ancient Ruins- 55 Donuts. Back from earlier this event. Should I Buy
Witch Marge- 75 Donuts. Costume for Marge. Has a speed up crops task. Does not come with the Cauldron, that had to be purchased separately this year. Has a mention about improved Halloween tasks. It will NOT earn you Candy Apples. Just premium payout now at the Halloween buildings for Adult actions. Should I Buy
Devil Flanders- 120 Donuts. Another popular costume, this time for Flanders. Pretty fun actions. Price increase this year. Should I Buy.

Nothing I don’t already have or am willing to spend donuts on. On the brightside, that means I can finally (after 3-4 years!) get Barney. I’ll wait till the end of the event to make sure they don’t bring out some cool halloweeny I want.

My teen was walking past, looked at my face & asked my husband what was wrong with me. Husband said “Tapped Out, New level” turned to me “remember to breathe love.”
Got Witch Marge. Wanted Devil Flanders but that is to high a price, why up it? Why couldn’t these had been out at start of holiday? It is over and now they show up. Sigh. If you hadn’t noticed, new items and I guess a new quest line have just hit the game.
I completely agree, Witch Marge(finally a Marge skin, I missed Tennis Marge from Tap Ball event) and Devil Flanders were at the top of my Top 10 returning item want list. If they’d even released them on Halloween I would have been ecstatic. I still got them since I’ve been coveting them since I started playing last year but releasing more than a week after Halloween (and Act 2 when Marge’s skin was useful) is totally anti-climatic for me. My Whoo-hoo! feels more like a wanh-wawh.

Wanted Devil Flanders but upping the price means no. Got Marge. Wish they had been from start. If you hadn’t noticed yet, new items and story line have hit towns just now.
Does the rigillian Queen still spawn huts?

Mine never did spawn huts? I crafted one during the event last year but that’s about it…
they gave us a new level finally.

Bought Witch Marge straight away! She’s currently abandoned the railyard and is flying around the town. Would like Devil Flanders but he’s expensive…
Ea totally messed up this act 3, all these resources going to waste as nothing wanted or needed that I havent already bought more than once, they should do a donut buy for every 100 resource= 10 donuts just to keep us tapping, very disappointed with this event
Can someone explain how Witch Marge’s “Speed up a crop” task works?
it shortens task times by 4hrs. So if you have an 8hr crop it’ll be done in 4hrs
Do I need the cauldron to be able to use witch Marge? Cuz I don’t have it but I want to buy Marge…

I understand them launching the old items for the new players, but how about some new stuff, a Halloween costume for Homer, this is lazy item promotion from EA. Now getting bored with Haloween. Have been enjoying it but getting old, noticed a decrease in neighbours visiting, possibly thiking the same. Roll on Christmas. My favourite event, just love Christmas. 😃

Yes – her ability to speed up crops, plus her premium earnings for tasks, plus her cool 8-hour animation, make her worth it in my eyes. I bought her last year and have never regretted it!

You don’t need the cauldron to speed up crops, you only need it for the “stir the pot” task, I didn’t buy the cauldron either but it will no doubt be back next year, still worth getting witch marge regardless.
No. Crop speeding is her 4-hour task (which she dies standing in front of Cletus’ farm; the cauldron is for her 12-hour task (which she dies wherever you’ve placed the cauldron). No connection at all.
Nope, just the farm. The culdron has its own job for Marge to stir it. That’s all you’ll miss out on

Just for her 12-hour task. None of her others (including crop speeding) require the cauldron.

Witch Marge is one of the only skins/characters I know of with a practical application beyond earning $/XP: speeding up crops. She has a 4hr task that reducing crop growth time by 4 hrs. Occasionally, an event requires you to grow something, and on those occasions, she can be extremely useful.
Plus, she can fly around town on a broom.
So that’s my dreams of Ghost Maude or Count Burns officially dashed. Why didn’t I just hit confirm last year!
Does Witch Marge have any tasks which are unaccessable if you don’t have the cauldron?

I saved up for Booberella, and am disappointed she wasn’t included after being available in the last two Halloweens (only started this year). I”m happy for those waiting for Marge’s and Flander’s skins, but everything’s a total pass for me.
I’m going to pass on the ones that I haven’t already earned during the various events — but I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for a price drop, down the road. I mean, I’ve been doing the reading here and elsewhere, and I just don’t see how it could make sense to spend *more* donuts for add-ons which have *less* significance than they did when they were first introduced.
That said… as a fremium player, I’m starting to feel like I need a spreadsheet just to keep track of all of those premium items which I *might eventually* get around to buying, once I actually collect enough donuts! 😀
Ok EA this means war! I have 750 doughnuts, begging you to let me spend money on this freaking “event”. Did the staff at EA take a vacation before this event. “We’ll just roll out a bunch of old crap”. All 3 acts the main crafting prize were returning items, not available to me. Frink’s deal, not available to me, returning item after returning item. No new level. Hey EA, Yr loyal players are bored out of their frigging minds.

Okay, I just have to say it, I think it’s hilarious to see you complain XD and I’m definitely NOT being ironic. People complain here the game is laggy, buggy, I want SSB as a character, boo Terwilligers event was boring, yay Springfield Heights, I’m tired of grinding for Springfield Heights, woohoo Monorail, I want more straight pieces and on and on and on, but your actual complaint is that you WANT to spend money – I mean, doughnuts 😛 – and there’s nothing for you to spend them on. I currently have 332 doughnuts, I want to buy Witch Marge but couldn’t even hit the confirm button yet because I’ve never been this “rich” before! I guess that being a completionist has its downsides, too.
Oh, and I’m kind of proud that I have Respectable Moe skin and you don’t 😛 sorry for that… just had to say it, too – couldn’t miss the opportunity! But I hope EA brings that back for you soon, maybe along with the Whacking Day stuff? 😉
I was about to call EA and insist they give me respectable Moe to make up for this almost worthless event. Even take 100 doughnuts from my account but until today they had been burning a hole in my pocket. Still have over 600. Ready for another Gil whale deal.
And I would love the Whacking Day stuff but in an odd way I’m cool without it.i wasn’t there for the event so I don’t really deserve them. Not really sure where respectable Moe came from. As much as I covet the snake with the kids in it. It’s like a badge of honor for long time players and now that EA is in with the old, forget about the new in terms of prizes these badges are becoming more and more rare.
But EA I tell you what, that fire breathing, rollerskate wearing, umbrella tailed thing from the THOH where Bart has mind control powers. Offer it for 800 doughnuts, I’ll buy 200 in a heartbeat and declare this event worth it!
Oh, but you should get Devil Flanders. Here are the pro’s.
1. He’s non-canonical / super-natural.
2. One of the few costumes for Ned.
3. Fond memories of THOH IV.
4. Donut farming on the rail yard will only take 24 weeks to recover the loss.
5. Your friends will be so jealous!

For that price, I’m totally happy with my Santa Flanders as Ned’s premium-earning skin.
According to the should I buy, Devil Flanders doesn’t even earn premium. I was thinking about it even at 120 donuts until I read that.
I already have all of these but I’m glad they have brought them back for the newer players 🙂
While this event has had it’s issues, I don’t think I’ve been as disappointed with it as others have been. I feel fairly confident that I will collect enough candy apples to get the Re-Neducation Center by the end date 😀
As always, you guys are awesome (and more patient than necessary) in handling people’s concerns regarding this event 🙂 Looking forward to the Christmas event, and hoping we get a mini-event for Thanksgiving 😀

120 Donuts for Devil Flanders?? I want Devil Flanders but, 120 donuts is a bit too much for a skin imo. I buy $20 worth of Donuts a month, that gives me 300 donuts, at that rate they want over $8 for a skin for Flanders. 100 Donuts I would think about it, at 75 it would have been bought by me this year.If they had Flanders with Heck House I could see 120 Donuts for that maybe.
Nice to see that the Portal to Rigel 7 is cheaper this year but, with less functionality it should be.
the rigellian queen and the portal, but no teleporters…. with the size of our towns now, it woulda been far and away the most useful feature to return……

I was looking through the new items this morning, saw Witch Marge, and bought her immediately. I’m a new player, and I got the game in the first place to get Hugo and Witch Marge, so I’m REALLY glad that both were available this year. Hugo is absolutely adorable, and Witch Marge looks awesome next to Holiday Homer. 🙂
Is anyone else happy with this year’s event? I’ve heard some people have been let down.
I’m super happy with the event! I’m not a new player, been at it for a few years, but I’m (mostly!) freemium so it’s great to see returning items that I’ve missed. Hope you like Witch Marge! I nabbed her last year & it was worth it!

I bought Witch Marge, although I don’t have the cauldron. I just can’t spend 120 for Devil Flanders, as cute as he is. That just seems like too many donuts!
I was let down. Even more so with the monorail. I would love for them to bring the train maker back so I make me some tracks. I need them.
Martin: I’m assuming you’re saying you didn’t quite get the Rail Yard? Given that it’s linked to a set of tasks which allow those of us who earned it to earn not just additional rails, but also bonuts each week, I’m going to hazard a guess that it’ll be awhile before they make it available again… and it’ll probably be expensive.
You did not get the Railyard? Oh that is just too bad 🙁 I am still making tracks and will be forever I guess just for the 5 donuts! I wish the 20 from the shopkeepers tasks would stick around too THEN I wouldn’t complain about the insane donut inflation going on!! I demand a cost of living increase! Minimum sprinkly pay increase! However, I would settle for upgraded equipment on their side to make up for it!
