Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Well it’s not Christmas, but EA has dropped an update in our laps today nonetheless. As Springfield Heights Round 2 hits our games…

This is an IN-GAME update…so there’s nothing to download from the App Store. This should automatically download for you direct to your game once you start up TSTO. If you don’t see it (you should see the downloading update screen) try hard closing and restarting TSTO, you can also restart your device.
Cookie Kwan will start this off (should auto-start) for you. As always, I’ll be back with more info as soon as I go through it…
So as mentioned above Cookie will kick things off with some auto-start dialogue…
Cookie: This tunnel to Springfield Heights is ruining the curb appeal. It’s too bad there’s no possible way to move a tunnel.

Cookie: I’ve got some prime real estate- available for one day only!
Homer: Woo Hoo! Stuff on sale!
Cookie: It’s not on sale. The rich don’t need discounts.
Carl: What about government subsidies?
Lenny: Yeah, and there’s the whole “too big to fail” situation, too!
Cookie: Sure, the rich want free stuff. But when they spend it, they like to pay full price.

Lindsey Neagle: Is that 50 cups of coffee in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

At this point you’ll unlock a new questline for SH (which Cookie will start as well) and a whole bunch of new stuff in the shop!
First the premium SH items have made a comeback for the next 36hrs…so if you didn’t pick them up last time and wanted them, now’s your chance:
Polo Field House- 200 Donuts. Should I Buy
Plastic Surgery Center- 80 Donuts. Should I Buy
Incubator Think Tank- 100 Donuts. Should I Buy
Column Mansion- 120 Donuts. Should I Buy
A couple of changes/additions to Springfield and Heights
NEW LAND!!!!
2 new strips in Springfield Heights…going away from the ocean
AND
2 new strips in Springfield! Bottom of the screen, furthest from the mountains.
You can also change the look of your SH upgrade-able buildings! Just tap on them and you’ll be able to change to whichever facade you prefer… 🙂

Now onto the new free stuff…
First there’s a new currency in Springfield Heights…Ads ![]()

So it looks like Christmas will be starting up next week….
Who’s ready for some snow?!
And that’s it my friends. The details of Springfield Heights Part 2..
What are your thoughts on part 2? Excited for new land? How about Lindsey joining Springfield? Thoughts on the new items added? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I love the new level for SH even though there is a lot of grinding involved. Looking forward to the Christmas event. Thanks for the post update.
My only TSTO Christmas wish (besides the snow) is that SH tasks are made more doable i.e. regular time intervals, and that their buildings pay out for neighbours!
Did you guys know we were getting this update? It seems really coincidental that you’s did the Springfield Heights origin post just before the update hit 😉
I wished they changed the formula for SH so it’s more like the rail yard. If you’re one of those players who only want to check your account 2-3 times a day, SH is really tedious. Between that and the rail yard tasks, you’re losing a lot of income.
The worst part are those business centers: upgrading one to level 5 eats up a whole ton of resources across the entire chain, and for less gain than the modern mansions. Now that I no longer want to play frantically, it takes me a whole week to scrape back the resources to upgrade one business center to level 5, during which I have to lose a lot of income.
About the only good thing with this update is the new land expansions only use furniture and yoga mats, so you don’t need to grind the entire production chain for more trophies and pills. I’m only focusing on the land expansions, the quests don’t look like they’re going to be fun.
If you’re someone who only wants to check the game 2-3 times a day, then just don’t play SH… it is optional, after all.
My Christmas wish is just the SH gets longer achievable task lengths and the buildings pay out currency for neighbours!
Does anybody know the max on how many tiles can be built for the Ornate Pier?
You could fill the entire ocean with them if you really wanted… but it will take an eternity, as the time to build them increases (like the squidport tiles)
Max 75 tiles.
Now that we have the Baby Hater, now we need the Baby(babies)
I’ve been checking the App Store for X-mas update frequently and then this in-game update hit (S.H. Pt 2)
Next week?? Hanukkah starts next week… But Ned’s new lights… I don’t know what’s going on.
YES L.N!!! And facades!!!!!! Boo grinding (and characters with premium skins, boo again)
Yeah, Boo, Yeah, Boo. Some say “yeah” and some say “Boo”. I say both.
Oh AND, L.N. is free, I always assumed she would have cost donuts. Yeah (I have been almost all day). 😀
I absolutely hate this Springfield Heights crap. It’s tedious, takes away from earning cash due to how many people are needed for everything, and barely has anything to do with the Simpsons universe. Seriously do not understand their decision to do this outside of opening up more land, which is nullified by the ridiculous size of all the Springfield Heights buildings.
I agree with most of what you said. I am only keeping 1 building out at a time and have stored the other 40 and have been upgrading one at a time.
I’m using this area as my “mansions” area.
Although I dread going back to the grind of the heights. More land is seriously awesome. Guess I can be thankful Krustyland is still dead and buried. And that new building is great as well as the new items and Lindsey! I was just watching an episode with her the other day and said to my boyfriend I wish I had her. Just would rather spend $20 on doughnuts than ever make another coffee again.
what’s the point of having her though if she is grinding away inside the Ads building. I wish these tasks were outside. Now my blue haired lawyer is tucked away too instead of being on his 24 hour task. I love having all my characters on outside tasks even if that means different timing.
I know, I’m a huge Trekkie and Mr Stewart can’t be seen. I keep forgetting I got Lindsey she’s been stuck making ads since the moment she showed up, haven’t even gotten a chance to play with her normal jobs yet. God I detest the heights!
Ok, now that I’ve had the day to play with it, I’ve collected my thoughts:
Woohoo Lindsay!!! Finally a classic recurring character after a few duds *cough*Gina*cough*
More land on both sides is always great, although the ONE block of SH land I haven’t purchased (for 65 pills) is of course the one I need to get to the new building.
Yay Christmas teaser! Boo not til next week…
LOVE LOVE LOVE THE NEW WATER THEMED BUILDINGS!!! I’m a pisces so anything to do with water is my jam. I can’t believe the one that goes on the water with the pool and dolphin fountain cost yoga mats. I gladly would’ve payed donuts for that. So excited to start building all this.
Pretty cool that we can now pick building skins. And those that want to can now move the tunnel, although I like the original placement. Overall looks A LOT better than SH Pt. 1😊
Great you can move the tunnel now, would have loved to set up the tunnel as the secret Stonecutters tunnel to the power plant! However I will never have enough SH land to bring this idea into light!!
Christmas 2013 was my favourite event so I hope this year’s is similar. Loved the prize wheel and community prizes.
heights is so boring and tedious, 30s/2m task over and over is ridiculous…also heights has nothing nostalgic about to make you think you are playing simspons game
I didn’t even think about the fact that absolutely none of the heights has anything to do with the show, somehow that slipped my mind. Now I hate it more than ever. Please whatever happens don’t do a Krustyland update. Still not sure which I hate more
Who do you say that none of Springfield Heights has anything to do with the show? Did you read Wookiee’s article?
I should have but no I didn’t
Just noticed that my “who” was an incorrect Swype rendering of the “why” that I tried to type at the beginning of that sentence. At any rate, if you read his previous article, you’ll seed that it is, in fact, from the show (including several of the buildings).
Sometimes I’m tempted to correct your autocorrects….
🚫
I just wish *I* could edit them! I hate that there’s no way to edit a post once you submit it.
Springfield Heights is just “meh” for me. Just way too much grinding which gets boring very quickly. I honestly don’t spend any time on it unless I’ve finished my Monorail tasks and scored the 5 donuts. So, needless to say, my SH is a jumbled mess, which bugs me because I’ve really been making strides to make my Springfield pretty darn nice looking.
Oy – I needed more land just to fit the Springfield Heights buildings that we already were supposed to have built, but now they’ve given us more to fit in! How is that supposed to help??
On the plus side, HOORAY for being able to select the building facades! Now I can finally finish upgrading stuff if I want, so I can make it to the billion mark (eventually) and asks get rid of excesses floating symbols.
Any idea whether the new resort buildings also offers a hidden XP multiplier? Please excuse of this had been asked and answered in the comments…I’ve been out all evening and it’s took late at night for me to necessarily make it through the hundreds (literally) of comment emails I have waiting for me to read through before bed.
Oh, and YIPPEE! – I’m now officially on vacation for the month!!!!!!!!!
Yay, vacation!
Remember when we figured out how to get rid of the icons, that imperfect solution? Now the real solution is upgrade fully, pick your façade, then fill up the shops completely. No icons anywhere!!
I closed the game once after the update and now I can’t buy anymore of the SH items anymore like the Polo field, solid gold walls…etc..ugh anyone know why that happened?
Sounds like it rolled back. I’d contact EA, let them know and have them look into your game directly.
What is the best route to Marketing agency. I gave up on Springfield Heights so I have to pay pills to move over another section to it?
Lol. I would pay cash money to remove Spring Heights from my game.
I don’t understand this…why not just ignore it?
LOL your idea was so out in left field, that you left out field!
My only question is, why does the tunnel turn red at certain points when I move it along the mountains? I mean at points where the land is unlocked at both sides, of course…
I’m also curious to see whether the new items (the ones which you can only buy a limited amount of) provide any bonus XP, like the condos/vallet parkings etc did.
It turns red at certain points because they are forcing you to line up the entrance with a certain position on the grid; similar to how you can only place roads at exact intervals.
You have to place roads on grid 1-4 or 5-8 or 9-12. You can’t place roads on grids 2-5 or 3-6 or 4-7. Same concept here.
Ahh, OK, thanks for clarifying. That didn’t occur to me because, with roads/pavement etc, you can’t even move them at intervals smaller than 4. Since the tunnel was moving smoothly all along the mountains, I figured I should be able to place it at any point.
I think it needs to be moved whole widths, not half-ones.
The mountain design repeats as a tile so you have to move the entrance enough that it matches the mountains, otherwise it wouldn’t mess correctly.
Yeah, it’s weird that you can only have it at certain fixed points along the mountain
I’m super pleased about having the added land expansion in our regular springfields! Fair prices on it as well. This is awesome!!! EA is killin it!!!🔪
Will the ornate pier tiles require $ or SH items to build?
SH items
Crap!
Sorry. I don’t mean to be negative. I really enjoy the game. I’m just frustrated with the grinding involved with SH. Do you know what items we will need to buy tiles? I hope you and your baby are doing well. 👶🏻
They require Ads.
And no worries… 🙂
Thanks Alissa. I’m glad it’s ads and not pills, or oscars.
Please tell me that the exclusive resort is not upgradable. 😬
No can do… It is. 😉
Ads, at 16 minutes, requires 2 yoga mats. 2 yoga mats takes 16 minutes to make, at 1 every 8 minutes. You can never get ahead unless you have BHL and forgo using one freemium character. Only SH craft that is worse is trophies, where you /will/ be behind, according to the math.
I never knew what to do with yoga mats, so I always had it maxed out. There is far too much reliance on coffee, so yoga mats I can handle 😛
I’m probably going to do what I do with trophies and that is just use the premium (BHL) to craft. He should be easy enough to get in the mystery boxes (I got him quite early). For the trophies, I just use Bumblebee Man, and yes, it takes a little longer, but the material cost is way less (though for the first little while, while it is s novelty, I’ll probably use everyone).
If you have all 6 characters going on LA Bodyworks, including premium character Disco Stu, and all 6 characters going at the ad agency (including BHL), you will net +2 yoga mats per 16 minute “round.” 14 mats created, 12 spent. There is no need to skip any characters.
I don’t have Disco Stu….
I regret not getting Disco Stu instead of Coach Krupt during the Black Friday sale. I had grander purchasing plans at the beginning when I bought Coach, but then, when I decided to stay freemium, I didn’t have enough donuts to get Stu and the other items that I wanted even more. Who knew I’d be wanting yoga mats so much?
I’ll happily forgo using Martin and Skinner both, since I need them recycling plastic. Just need to unlock Lenny’s job there.
(As for the Oscars, I usually only send BBM and sometimes Agnes. It’s definitely pointless to send everyone.)
Or just send some time amassing mats, and then use them to buy ads. Nothing says you have to do them at the same time.
Efficiency doesn’t say that?
Eh – I just look at it as if it were real life, where you sometimes have to save up to buy something (unless you’d rather pay credit card interest, which usually isn’t the smart approach).
Now, I do feel differently about efficiency when it comes to time-limited events and such, or where bonuts are involved…but, with Springfield Heights, it just isn’t much of an issue in terms of the game play.
Good points. No need to be efficient when this has no time limit. No rush.
Is EA trying to kill this game? Did anyone like Springfield heights and wanted more of it? Why?why?why? If they must do this please increase the pay outs, decrease the task times and eliminate resources that use up other resources. I don’t want to grind for 2 months again.
I’ve been working on it for the last few hours. Though I’m not happy with the grinding, I’m finding that it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.
Yeah, honestly SH is a terrible expansion. It requires obsessive minute-by-minute checking of your account if you want to make real progress with your upgrades.
I managed to hit the 1 billion mark within 3 months, which is pretty insane for a freemium player. But as soon as I hit that billion, I I never bothered upgrading the remaining business centers to level 5.
SH and the monorail expansions nearly made me quit the game, as my income level dropped drastically trying to fulfill both ends. It’s a good thing I stuck on for the Halloween update, since I built enough wailing walls to triple my income.
Just when I’m finally catching up with my land expansions, EA drops this update. I thought EA learnt their lesson by setting 1/2/3 hour tasks for the monorail projects, but here we go again. I’m only going to play enough to unlock all the new land expansions, and I’ll leave the quests aside.
Agreed… I end up procrastinating so much because of SH and I’m not even a quarter of the way there…
HATE SPH!!! I wish EA would admit defeat and make SPH disappear! It’s not in the show (an area separated from Springfield via a hole in a mountain), why is it in the game!?!
I loved Springfield Heights and am loving this update. Ornate pier and all the new freemium decorations, and yachts. It’s not timed, so no need to complain about grinding. And how bad is the grinding really. Just have your game on whilst watching The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, The Flash, Arrow, (insert your show here) and every 30sec, 2min, 5min, 8min, 12min, 16min, and 20min click and re-click. By the time my show is over, I’ve made some serious items and watched an awesome show. (Disclaimer: may not well if you are absolutely atrocious at multi-tasking)
So don’t do it! It’s not mandatory. I, for one, an thrilled to get more land for Springfield Heights, and some of the new buildings that we can earn look great (although I’m not sure they’ll all end up in Springfield Heights, since since look mode in scale for regular Springfield).
I hit max level for the first time last week. Got my 1st bonus donuts Monday. I gave up on SH bc, I thought I could get donuts from the Monorail but, I haven’t been able to finish it in weeks. I swear it gets harder every week. So my big reason for posting is the new Flander’s decorations, where’s the Nativity? There’s NO WAY Flanders wouldn’t put that out. I have RL Flanders for a neighbor & that goes up first every year! A little disappointed so I’ll be keeping the Decorations up I got last year.
There is a nativity in the game. They’ve given it away in years past. If you don’t have it, you’ll probably be able to get it this year.
Regarding Monorail: Really? I only put moderate effort into this game — barely any effort, compared to some people, really — but I almost always pull in those 5 bonuts by Thursday or Friday, even during events. (There was one week where I missed… but that was because I focused more resources than necessary on the event.)
Perhaps you’re taking the wrong approach? For starters, ignore the minor/normal parts… if memory serves, they had a specific purpose during the Monorail event, but they have far less value, now. Instead, focus almost exclusively on Large Widgets — unless you find that you can use some of a particular resource without adversely affecting the timing of the next Large Widget. (As in: Large Widget only needs glass, this time? Then let’s use some of this plastic that I’ve already maxed out, and start collecting more plastic…) In addition, don’t stop crafting those Widgets after you get your bonuts; keep crafting to max out before the next round.
Check that… in that last sentence, I should have said, don’t stop *collecting resources* for Widgets, until you max out. (As in, ~240+ cans, ~140+ plastic, and ~110+ glass.)
Also: if you’re not going to make it to the bonuts this week… then just go for maxing out your resources now, to give yourself a head start for next week.
Lindsey! I was watching an episode featuring her last night and wondered when they’d add her. Got a bunch to do until I unlock her. Yes, I’m ready for snow, but since I moved to TX five years ago, all I’m used to is ice one day and hot weather the next.
The exclusive resort is massive, though skinny. I think I’ll be stacking these buildings back to back as I build them to save space. I’m assuming that the new buildings will give us additional hidden XP per building placed? I placed my first exclusive resort, and I’m waiting for the 8 hour build to finish.
They’re ridiculously oversized. Another building that has no relevance to the show at all, and it’s WAY too big. Why aren’t any of the ACTUAL buildings that Springfield has in the show this size? Ea seem to love SPH because their designers can have the time of their lives creating buildings and decorations that they like the look of that has NO bind to the show.
I noticed the price of the land next to the newly added strips in regular Springfield went WAY down. Anyone else see this? Now I wish I waited to buy up that land, as I could have saved a ton of $!
Yep, I just bought what was the last plot of land 2 weeks ago…d’oh! And I just splurged on the Krusty Oil rig this morning….I have bad timing!!
Ha! I literally bought the last strips at the bottom and right LAST NIGHT!!
Ouch! That must sting! Oh well, it’s only cash. Much less painful than paying full donut price for something only to have it go on sale the next day!
You’re right!! I’ve been trying to finish all the land, and almost every piece was 1 million (the ones in the furthest corner at the bottom-right). Now the most expensive one in the same area is under 500k! It’s great as it means I can finish the land quicker and finally get on with some aspirationals…
What was once $2.5M is now $490K. And that one was my last piece to buy. I coulda saved millions! Oh well, at least now there’s room to squeeze in the monorail stations and new buildings… and Christmas stuff yet to come.
Is there a real estate level requirement to unlock Lindsey? I got the 50 free latte from Cookie but nothing else triggered. I hard closed/synched with krustyland etc and nothing popped up.
Did you finish the original SH questline?
no not yet.. that might be it then? 🙂
Yup.
My only remaining wish with SH (besides the eventual need for more land) is for the monorail to either be able to go over the mountains or through the tunnel or to go around the mountains in the ocean. I really want to connect my monorail with SH and place the mall portion over there!
I’m surprised EA remembered about Springfield Heights – shame they’ve forgotten about Krustyland
There’s a questline for Krustyland this update, I don’t know how big because I just started but its nice to see they haven’t completely abandoned it…
ummmmmm…..where? With who?
I’m guessing the Princess Penelope questline just happened to coincide with this update for Eany.
I’m crossing my fingers for BHL in my Mystery Box tomorrow…
