Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
A couple of things triggered for us this morning as part of the 2015 Christmas Event.
First up, Gil is back in Springfield and this time he’s pushing a giant Snow globe! This is something everyone should see in their town, regardless of where they are in the event.
Second, MAGGIE has arrived! However, you won’t get her until you finish the upgrade on the Moonshine Shack and complete the Oh Come All Ye Vengeful questline. So it will give you something to look forward too, and incentive to keep on tapping!
So let’s get to the basics of both shall we? (don’t worry I won’t put up Maggie spoilers since it’ll be a bit before many of you get there…but know that Marge is the one who will kick off Maggie)
First up the Gil deal….
You’ll see Ol’ Gil roaming the streets of Springfield trying to sell you something….a Giant Snow globe!
Gil: Giant snow globe! Giant snow globe! Step right up and gaze upon the big and awesome, super-stunning giant snow globe! Trust Ol’ Gil. I’m not overselling this like the many loads of bunk I’ve oversold you in the past. It’s an amazing item, as long as you’re not claustrophobic, scared of heights (like me) and have a backyard as big as the gardens of Versailles. It says here that the base is solid gold and handcrafted…and oh, wow. You’re not going to believe what’s inside. A three-story historical 5-bedroom house perched on top of a fancy glacier! Seems shakier than this sales pitch. You’ll have your own private little Ice mountain! Careful when you’re exploring. Polar bears love to play soccer with the round heads like you. But don’t worry. Just hold off a couple of weeks ’til global warming puts a crimp in those critters’ lives. Oh and since the house is teetering right on the edge of a cliff, I’d invest in a good home protection plan…and a parachute. That snow globe can house five generations of people and pets. That makes quite a Christmas scene. Don’t do it for me. Do it for the poor little orphans, and the obese, bearded guy up North, and for undernourished elves that can’t afford vitamins to grow.
At this point you’ll be offered the Snow Globe…
If you decline you’ll see…
Gil: I can’t blame you for not buying. You’re one of those odd-jobs that can’t stand having something wonderful in their life.
You’ll be able to access the Snow Globe deal then through the store…just tap on the Snow Globe icon in the store…

Here are some quick facts about the Snow Globe…
8×8 in size. Comes with a short questline. 9 characters can have a task there (2hrs). Boosts vanity by 100 points. And comes with a 2.25% bonus on all cash and XP. (can be placed in Springfield, the boardwalk or the Pier)
With Christmas only 2 days away, and plans for the next couple of days…I’m still debating on doing a Should I Buy for the Snow Globe…as most of the info is on this post. If I do one for it, it won’t be until after Christmas. (The day not the event)

Mr. Burns starts
Mr. Burns: Smithers, what is this?
Smithers: It’s a giant snow globe, sir.
Mr. Burns: Snow globes bring back terrible memories Smithers. Childhood, family…eugh! That’s what I use them to trap my enemies. I want them to feel my dread.
Smithers: It’s festive. People normally love them.
Mr. Burns: Until they’re trapped inside one and the water starts rising!
Send Springfielders to the Snow Globe- x5. 2hr task. (White Witch Burns can go and will earn Mistletoe)

Now let’s talk about the little girl of the hour baby Riley Maggie!
As mentioned above you WILL NOT see the questline to get Maggie until you’ve fully upgraded the Moonshine Shack AND completed Oh Come All Ye Vengeful. So if you haven’t done both of those things, please don’t ask why you can’t see Maggie in your game…
Marge starts the questline to get Maggie..and there’s a little surprise when you tap on her (Marge)…that I won’t ruin for y’all now. But it’s cute 🙂
Anywho…just by tapping on Marge and running through the dialogue you’ll unlock Maggie..
And start the You Better Not Cry questline..
Maggie does come with a full set of tasks and will crawl around Springfield (no more walking around with Marge for her!). I won’t post the tasks or many more details about Maggie now, as I know many of you are no where near ready to unlock her…and there are some things that are better left as a surprise 🙂
The You Better Not Cry questline is 5 total parts, and I’ll post a separate Turbo Tappin’ for that a little later today…

I like the snow globe but I’m already wanting characters available for old skins like ice princess Martin and Santa homer and Ralph in his elf costume etc etc. I would barely have time to use it. It is nice that it is something to place them all in one area though.
Can anyone refresh my memory if there is a way to store something to free Martin? I am beyond exhausted, completely brain dead and have work clear through Christmas Eve. I keep forgetting to send him on his task for donuts For the week!

I had a feeling they would add a hidden character in Week 2 of this event just like they added SSB in Week 2 of his event. Well good Maggie is now part of the game instead of NPC. Although I wonder if they will add her to the Snow Globe like they did with the rest of the Simpsons.

My apologies if already answered. I read the post about the snow globe a few times, but I didn’t see if there are tasks After the initial ones or will it just sit on my boardwalk as a decoration?

What a nice Christmas present! Although it will be a couple days before I am ready to unlock Maggie, I presume. Just now working on the Fortress of Lonelitude, haven’t even unlocked the Moonshine Shack yet.
And for the Snow Globe: Just yesterday I posted a silly comment about how I was going to get everything from this event because I like it so much and then they throw in something like this. 225 Donuts? For real? Now I will be arguing with myself for days if I should get it or not. Man, this is really something… or other *sigh*
Don’t buy the snow globe all you get is the snow globe and nothing else they promise you sucks!

Based on Gil’s sales pitch, I understood it be a big a$$ snow globe within which certain characters would have performance art-style tasks. I passed because it is too expensive for me. What did you expect and did it fall short? I am sincerely curious.

Is maggie only avalable in act 2 or can you also get her in act 3?

Yay finally! It’s going to take me a bit to get her because I’m still only on Reindeer truck level 1. But worth the wait!!!
Not getting the snow globe, it’s cool but too rich for my blood. Unless I get iTunes gift cards in abundance for Christmas tee hee. 😉

Gil’s deal did not trigger for me this morning, however I noticed that the snow globe was available to purchase along with another offer of some type of XP starter pack which looks like another offer he has planned down the line. Although I could view both offers, it would not let me click on either one. I exited the game and got back in and the offer triggered and the xp starter pack deal was gone. Must be a glitch.
Something strange happened in my game this morning, after the Snowglobe deal was triggered. It seems that the Christmas event has started again (with Ned), and the game now prompts me to complete The proclamation of decoration (i.e. Have Ned decorate his house). As a result, I did not have any Merry Makers in my town when I started my game, and my daily prize was money instead of Mistletoe. Also, my history of “Naughty and Nice gifts” has disappeared. I did not loose any crafting currency, and still have the Snowman, Gingerbread mansion, Exotic petting zoo and Burger truck. Any idea if the Snowglobe deal could have triggered that by accident?
It’s possible. I would contact EA, see what happened
I’ve known about Maggie for weeks (I use another source during events because they give all the event content – current and upcoming). Sadly though, I don’t think I’ll get Maggie until early next week. I’ve been trying to get through all the upgrading as fast as I can but the tasks are just too long with many of them being doubled before being completed and I don’t want to waste donuts to speed up the tasks. I think there’s a tad too much going on for this event. I’ve spent hours scheduling who is doing what and when.
On an upside, looking forward to Maggie’s arrival and the other things coming.

Just Kidding, but you know it’s coming in massive amounts.I am close but have not unlocked moonshine shack But boy what a pleasant surprise, I (and I think a lot of tappers) where expecting her to be the last prize of act 3 so AWESOME!!!! And a huge thanks to addicts for all your awesome work that keeps all us rappers going and Merry Christmas to all.
The Yeti also has a task on the SnowGlobe.

Woohoo!! The day has finally arrived LOL. I’m almost done the truck and on level 2 of the fortress so it’s gonna be a while for me. I’m glad you just immediately get her though, no annoying questline/collecting things/spending donuts. 👶🍼
I also REALLY WANT THAT SNOWGLOBE 😭 It’s just way too expensive though. Plus to get the full benefit and enjoyment out of it you gotta have allllll those characters free. It’d be so much cooler if the scene stayed like that all the time. For spending 225 donuts and getting an empty snowglobe..pass.

When does the monshine shack opens? I have completed the petting zoo and the burger truck, I am f ishing level two of CBG quest. The pounts are harder to earn for the second part of the Christmas challenges. It seems that it goes very slowly. Merry Christmas to you and your family. How exciting, Riley’s first Christmas, I bet she will be spoiled rotten!
Once you get to Level 3 of the fortress you’ll trigger the shack.

When I saw that cut scene with the clouds parting I thought something was wrong with my game lol Then I saw Maggie & I screamed and ran about the house & now my husband worries about me :/
ANYWAY! So happy to see my favourite character & totally grabbed that snow globe too. It’s gorgeous & fun.
I didn’t see the cut scene…does that come when you get to that part of the quests?
I completed the Oh Come All Ye Vengeful questline the night before, then exited the game because I needed sleep lol I went back early in the morning & as soon as I logged in, the cut scene played.

I absolutely love the snow globe. I love decorations like the Radioactive Man statue, nativity scene, open air stage, the ones where multiple characters can be sent at once. Of course most of the characters are busy with Christmas and monorail tasks. At least you can see Santa’s Little Helper.
And take note apparently characters can’t be in skins when you send them. I had Cool Homer And gorgeous grandpa and they just stood outside the globe in their skins.

This is one of those super expensive deals that normally come along once every event, yes I’ll get it since I’m a true addict but still waiting for that christmas donut special deal first since I have 0 donuts right now
