Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
A couple of things triggered for us this morning as part of the 2015 Christmas Event.
First up, Gil is back in Springfield and this time he’s pushing a giant Snow globe! This is something everyone should see in their town, regardless of where they are in the event.
Second, MAGGIE has arrived! However, you won’t get her until you finish the upgrade on the Moonshine Shack and complete the Oh Come All Ye Vengeful questline. So it will give you something to look forward too, and incentive to keep on tapping!
So let’s get to the basics of both shall we? (don’t worry I won’t put up Maggie spoilers since it’ll be a bit before many of you get there…but know that Marge is the one who will kick off Maggie)
First up the Gil deal….
You’ll see Ol’ Gil roaming the streets of Springfield trying to sell you something….a Giant Snow globe!
Gil: Giant snow globe! Giant snow globe! Step right up and gaze upon the big and awesome, super-stunning giant snow globe! Trust Ol’ Gil. I’m not overselling this like the many loads of bunk I’ve oversold you in the past. It’s an amazing item, as long as you’re not claustrophobic, scared of heights (like me) and have a backyard as big as the gardens of Versailles. It says here that the base is solid gold and handcrafted…and oh, wow. You’re not going to believe what’s inside. A three-story historical 5-bedroom house perched on top of a fancy glacier! Seems shakier than this sales pitch. You’ll have your own private little Ice mountain! Careful when you’re exploring. Polar bears love to play soccer with the round heads like you. But don’t worry. Just hold off a couple of weeks ’til global warming puts a crimp in those critters’ lives. Oh and since the house is teetering right on the edge of a cliff, I’d invest in a good home protection plan…and a parachute. That snow globe can house five generations of people and pets. That makes quite a Christmas scene. Don’t do it for me. Do it for the poor little orphans, and the obese, bearded guy up North, and for undernourished elves that can’t afford vitamins to grow.
At this point you’ll be offered the Snow Globe…
If you decline you’ll see…
Gil: I can’t blame you for not buying. You’re one of those odd-jobs that can’t stand having something wonderful in their life.
You’ll be able to access the Snow Globe deal then through the store…just tap on the Snow Globe icon in the store…

Here are some quick facts about the Snow Globe…
8×8 in size. Comes with a short questline. 9 characters can have a task there (2hrs). Boosts vanity by 100 points. And comes with a 2.25% bonus on all cash and XP. (can be placed in Springfield, the boardwalk or the Pier)
With Christmas only 2 days away, and plans for the next couple of days…I’m still debating on doing a Should I Buy for the Snow Globe…as most of the info is on this post. If I do one for it, it won’t be until after Christmas. (The day not the event)

Mr. Burns: Snow globes bring back terrible memories Smithers. Childhood, family…eugh! That’s what I use them to trap my enemies. I want them to feel my dread.
Smithers: It’s festive. People normally love them.
Mr. Burns: Until they’re trapped inside one and the water starts rising!
Send Springfielders to the Snow Globe- x5. 2hr task. (White Witch Burns can go and will earn Mistletoe)

Now let’s talk about the little girl of the hour baby Riley Maggie!
As mentioned above you WILL NOT see the questline to get Maggie until you’ve fully upgraded the Moonshine Shack AND completed Oh Come All Ye Vengeful. So if you haven’t done both of those things, please don’t ask why you can’t see Maggie in your game…
Marge starts the questline to get Maggie..and there’s a little surprise when you tap on her (Marge)…that I won’t ruin for y’all now. But it’s cute 🙂
Anywho…just by tapping on Marge and running through the dialogue you’ll unlock Maggie..
And start the You Better Not Cry questline..
Maggie does come with a full set of tasks and will crawl around Springfield (no more walking around with Marge for her!). I won’t post the tasks or many more details about Maggie now, as I know many of you are no where near ready to unlock her…and there are some things that are better left as a surprise 🙂
The You Better Not Cry questline is 5 total parts, and I’ll post a separate Turbo Tappin’ for that a little later today…

WOW! I just earned MAGGIE!! Here’s how it went … Marge had a task to do so I tapped her, my screen went black & rolled into a quick Maggie video. Cletus’ moonshine was NOT completed nor was the “vengeful” story completed. Maggie’s at the zoo now BTW. Christmas present from EA?? Happy Holidays, Tappers!
Yippee on Maggie becoming a playable character!! I’m just about to get the Moonshine Shack so can’t wait for what’s next!! The snow globe intrigues me .. curious to see what Christmas brings us.
Sidenote question: I have a new neighbor who’s town is all off – I see bottoms of characters under buildings and tops of buildings with no bottoms .. its the only town that shows up like that when I visit my neighbors ..

Nothing they can do…it’s just a visual glitch. Means something didn’t load correctly..usually corrects itself.
I had assumed the big surprise for Jan 2 was going to be Maggie, now I’m curious.
I’m guessing that when you tap her, she either sucks her pacifier, burps, or falls down.
Thanks for more stress, Alissa. I can’t complete these buildings any faster. Sounds like they all need upgraded fully before the Maggie questline triggers. I wasn’t doubling the mistletoe jobs (unless EA made me!), this is the speed I’m going. Should I sleep less? Is that why you’re posting about it? Was this post just for Safi, who said he was going to be doubling? Safi!! Nooooooooo!! You have to get Maggie!! And bonuts!!!! And carpal tunnel!!!…. Well, not the last one..
It wasn’t clear, Alissa, but is it necessary to get Maggie now before Act 3 starts? Will getting her now mess with how it was supposed to go in Act 3, with how it starts?
And just to be clear, I was fake blaming you. EA implemented the early release and word was bound to come out. (I already knew about it…..)

How far are you into finishing the buildings (truck, fortress, etc.) ? There’s still more than enough time to complete them, have no worries. One of the posters stated that they received Maggie without the moonshine shack (?) being complete. However, I cannot vouch for that because I am currently finishing the fortress.
I’m always worrying about being behind and usually end up being ahead of schedule.
It’s true. My moonshine shack is incomplete yet being vandalized as we speak. It’s happening!!! Only two more vandalisms and, and…. you know.

I have a question about the Globe: It gives Characters tasks, but is it like the Bounce House and Nightmare Pile where only one character at a time can go, or can you assign multiple toons to all run that two hour mission together at the same time?

I think I’ve been done by a glitch. When I started Gil’s deal dialogue, I got a different screen not featuring Gill or the Snow Globe but with Professor Frink and numerous items for 225 donuts. This included a premium character, premium building $250,000 in cash, 10 days of XP and, most importantly, 150 donuts back. I thought this was a good deal and spent my hard earned donuts to which Gill said ‘great doing business’ and gave me a snow globe and nothing else. Reading the above I suspect Elizabeth Odonnell had the same problem. Do I need to start e-mailing EA or is there a reasonable explanation for this?

Was hoping they would release level 60 this week for Maggie (even if just something short and simple), I think Maggie deserves a level not just tacked onto Christmas 2015. Strategically and long run think it would have been better. But better than no Maggie at all! Maybe level 60 can be Gerald (unibrow) 🙂

Plus just looking at the new character lists in the inventory and Ms Botz is there as a villan, Gerald monobrow baby and Ling are under More Kids and Ms Sinclair (from Aynd Rand School for Tots). Can’t wait to unlock or buy these characters!! I’ve been asking for Ms Botz and Ms Sinclair for ages 😀
Ms Botz! Always in my top 5 most wanted! I hope she’s level 60 and like Frankie you have to buy her car and they make it just like they did in that super early animation.
I’ve been on a Season 1 kick lately.
Speaking of which, now that we have Dr Monroe and the ENTIRE Simpson Family, how about the shock therapy chairs?
This globe is gorgeous. But as per real life, I controlled and will not buy it. Usually in a store, I will just pick it up, give it a little shake, and put it back. Could not justify spending money on it. And as seen in shows, it could become a murder weapon..

Maybe i read he quest walkthrough wrong but i finished the petting zoo and still no moonshine shack… I contacted EA about this and they gave me a case number so I guess it is a real problem and I read the walkthrough correctly. Anyone else finish the petting zoo and no shack?
You need to reach level 3 on the Petting Zoo, Reindeer Burger Truck and Fortress of Lonlitude before unlocking the Moonshine Shack.

I was quite happy with the game without Maggie,
but it does show that if everybody wants the same thing….then EA™ do listen,
so what’s the next most popular thing on our joint list that everybody wants and we’ll never hear the end of it till we get it ? ?

Not my first choice but the cries for Praiseland seem to be getting louder. Personally I would love a Homerapoolza event. I have two obsessions (well Ash vs Evil Dead is quickly becoming a third but I already have the necromican in my town) The Simpsons and Sonic Youth, I know it’ll never happen and they won’t be voiced even if they did exist but maybe a job at the open air stage where they played a snippet of them doing the theme song that is played during the end credits.

They should make some in game improvements for a better UI
-inventory search bar, the EA staff should also put tags in the code with the items that would also bring up these items to make it easier to search
-remove the restrictions on the “sorry hoarder can’t store this” especially on Lisa and Homer. This would eliminate the accidental sending on tasks.
-Make all items/decorations for sale.
-in edit mode, a selection box you can select areas of your town to move around without having to dismantle things individually
-the Unemployment Office could be improved, have a scroll similar to the Town Hall Census of Characters to where you can set aside characters you don’t want on those hour tasks. This way if characters are needed elsewhere they arent grouped in.
-unemployment office more selection for 2hr,3hr, etc.
-Rail Yard Track Piece trade in or when getting your pieces you can select what you want.
-Friend visits can be improved. Have a vertical scroll instead of horizontal screen which is taking up too much space and just tiresome.
-friend visits have it to where if visited they get moved to the end with the 24hr countdown (already visited). Leaving the next batch at the front. This will eliminated Alphabetical and just be random.
-have a button on the screen to press once opening your game to collect money from everything available instead of the radius idea.
-Character Tasks, if there are multiple for the same hour have a horizontal swipe or something on those this way the task menu doesn’t become too long.
-Character Tasks, I would like to see something to where every so often they are switched out maybe every so many months or just shuffled around have the 24hr become the 12 and so on. Or just have it random and you don’t know what you get until it’s pressed.
-more items placed on road and in water.
-widen out the ocean real estate into the actual ocean.
-make cement pieces optional for 2×2 instead of 4×4.
-make placement easier for items such as fences on both sides without having the RED restriction having to flip it around. There are probably other items too but that one only comes to mind.
I know there are more things but that’s just off the top.
It’s a bit bitter/sweet, I’m going to have to put the Baby Event Demandors (B.E.D.) to bed.
After Maggie, Raphael (aka Sarcastic Guy) is my number one slot; Though being more vocal about Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz and return of Lyle Lanely could be an option. But without them being voiced I don’t know if I’m ready for that uphill battle just to be disapointed of them all being mute.
Maybe go heavey on Itchy and Scratchy Land (updated Krustyland) with “real” Itchy and Scratchy. Let’s call it Itchy/Scratchy Intense Suggestion or I.S.I…..wait no… …Premote Itchy/Scratchy Suggestion or P.I.S…. No, that is just as bad.. Need to be a little wiser with these acronyms … That’s it W.I.S.E. (Wanting Itchy/Scratchy Event)

Can we assume that this is the Christmas/Holiday Gil deal for the year? I’d like to purchase it, but currently do not have enough donuts. I’m willing to buy more for it, however I don’t want to do that just yet in the event Good ‘Ole Gil makes an appearance to offer discounted donuts like he did last year. Any word on whether the discounts from last year will return, or is this it for our Christmas Gil deal?

Snow globe looks cool, but a lot of donuts, so going to wait & see what else pops up, my donut stash is quite low, hoping Santa will bring some, but my Santa has already spent way too much money buying items out of game to help with my back. Back is more important and so far all purchases are helping so much, actually sleeping for Bunny: sleeping is when you put your head down, turn your brain off, close your eyes and rest!
So over the moon with Maggie, although not close to getting her, but knowing she is coming makes me want to do dance of happiness. Having to wait, knowing she is coming, like waiting for a baby, adds to excitement!
Speaking of which, Queen Alissa, love the pics of Princess Riley Margaret. The one of her in outfit saying she is cute, Mommy is cute… Made me laugh! I hope you have a wonderful first Christmas with her, so happy you & hubby were blessed with this lil Angel! Merry Christmas my friend, in case I don’t get to chat with you again before Christmas! XO

Yes, make the most of these early childhood xmases Alissa, they’re the best, and they’re gone in NO time, …… When kids stop believing in santa, it’s not the same …..(then they roll in drunk at all hours, and in the case of girls, you’ll be saying, “You’re not going out dressed like that!” )

My moonshine shack says it’s fully upgraded, but it’s not. It still has yellow tape all over it. The come ole ye faithful quest was not triggered. I did a hard close and I reinstalled, went to Kland, all the usual fixes, but to no avail. Is there something else other than contacting EA that might help? Anyone else experiencing this?
All the other buildings are fully upgraded? And Moe’s free?
Yes, all were completely upgraded and Joe is free. When I go to the shack it states it’s fully uograded, but it’s stuck on the one that has the yellow tape around it. My quest got stuck there.

I had a question that doesn’t relate to this if you don’t mind. I’m using the strategy you suggested in an earlier post to maximize my amount of missile toe. Right now I’m in the middle of upgrading the fortress and about to finish the truck and finished upgrading Moes petting zoo. Do you think that the last prize will have to do with just tapping merrymakers.Thank you

I’m so beyond excited to get Maggie!! I do have a question, though. Does anyone know if Gil will be offering a donut deal like he has the past few Christmases? Or is the snow globe the only deal that will be offered?

What a great gift from EA! So happy! Springfield will finally feel complete! Yay! And I am happy she will have her own tasks too. I am a few days away from unlocking her but still so happy! The snow globe looks wicked but I have a feeling many more great stuff will come along this event so I’ll be passing this up. It does look great and their outfits too, so very Christmas Carol like!
I’ve been doing upgrade tasks nonstop and I’m still a day or two away from the quests needed to unlock Maggie. I’m a sad panda.

there’s also another offer that showed up for a brief moment and disappeared and i managed to snag it in a new test town. it’s weird but ea support says they’re working on a fix for it
