Casino Event 101: Daily Casino Challenge

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Seeing lots of you getting stuck on a certain part of the questline for the Casino Event, Challenge of the Day.

You’re tasked with clearing a Casino Challenge, and you do your Daily Challenge but nothing happens.  The task remains in your task book no matter how many times you clear it.  Annoying right?  Well the good news is the solution is easy, so let’s take a look…

2016-02-24 21.44.52

Once you’ve unlocked crafting…you’ll see the Challenge of the Day task popup in your task bar.  Many of you are hitting the “Do It” button, only to wind up empty handed.  So here’s the deal….

First, the Casino Daily Challenges will be found in your regular Daily Challenge box (top right corner) If you need more help on this read this post.  So, don’t think there’s something new that’s supposed to launch that you’re missing.  There isn’t.

Second, in order to complete the Casino Daily Challenge, you have to clear a Challenge that is Casino themed.  In other words, something related to the Casino Event.  So if your daily challenge is to collect Krustyland Tickets, this isn’t Casino related and won’t clear the task.  Here’s what it will look like when you see a Casino related challenge:

2016-02-24 13.34.18
In iOS

2016-02-24 14.00.53
In Android…

You’ll see both of these are related to the Casino.  The first says to Tap Gamblers and the second is to have Johnny Tightlips do his task at the Casino.

Once you complete a Casino Themed Daily Challenge the task will clear.

So why aren’t you seeing the Casino themed challenge yet?  Could just be a delay in your device.  I know it took a little longer for me to get one on my iOS then it did on Android.  Just be patient with it.  The task will not, i repeat will not, hold up progress for the event.

So what are some other examples of Casino themed Challenges?  The following are all examples of Daily Casino Challenges:
-Play Casino Games
-Acquire… (Chips/Coasters/Keychains etc)
-Tap Gamblers
-Make ______ (do their task at the Casino)…So Johnny Tightlips Deliver a Threat, Paris Texan Blow Money with Style, Rich Texan Go Big or Go Home..etc.  (if you don’t have the premium character that task won’t popup for you).

The Casino themed Daily Challenges will pay out either donuts, or event currency.  Like additional crafting currency, more chips or gold tokens.

And yes they work just like the other Daily Challenges, only these are related to the event.

Hope this helps clear up some of the issues many of you are having!  Think of it as just an additional way to earn event currency 🙂

What are your thoughts on the Casino themed Daily Challenges?  Thoughts on the prizes available?  Enjoying the event so far?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I have a daily challenge to get 5 Courtesy Chips. As far as I can tell, they only fall when the Gaming Moe’s Slot Machine loses (3 non-matching pictures). That happens once in maybe twenty tries. Is there another way to earn Courtesy Chips?

  2. Totally off subject…..”Futurama: Game of Drones” was released yesterday. I just downloaded it, and haven’t tried it yet. Anyone else?

  3. I’ve been so busy I didn’t realize there was an update. Now it’s so late I don’t know if I’ll get everything. : (

  4. I’ve grinded my way to $550m in Springfield Heights, but not sure I’ll be able to make the $1b in the next couple of weeks. I really want Paris Texan to help with the event. Sneaky game designers, paying off people who put in the effort…

    • I feel your pain. I’m at $804m now, made about $300m in 2 weeks. Modern Mansion Level 5 really pays off at $21m. I NEEEEED YOOOOGAAAA MAAAAATS!

    • From your point it took me 3 solid months to get to $946m. Unbelievably tedious -_-

  5. I read this after I passed on the 1st casino daily challenge because it wouldn’t register. I’m assuming I’ll have another chance to clear that at some point. My problem is with the redwood tree. I click on the tree logo on the left, or the tree itself, and a box appears at the top of my screen saying to send characters. I’m confused. Noone I click on has a job for that. I’m one 3-hour job away from stage 5 tree. Is this something EA did because the casino is so complex and takes up so much memory?? Anyone else have this problem?? Thanks in advance!!

  6. I’m in need of a small hint… Should I use the crafting currency to craft immediately (and gain club cards), of should I save to increase the crafting level? What does the higher crafting level give to me?

  7. We’re not getting many crafting resources and to upgrade to level 2 takes 10 tiers to do so. Each upgrade probably uses 30-50 resources. Do you think they’ll fix this? I want that plane.

  8. Finally completed the entire 1st part! Getting to level 3 tier took hours to get enough pieces to upgrade, but worth it. Hope the 2nd part march 7th isn’t like this. The moose plane and safari casino have little questline quotes. Burns with the plan and krusty saying mr. teeny should work at the casino. Good luck tappers.

    • and how many donuts did you spend?

      • 1,000,000 donuts? You can’t upgrade the Tiers with donuts. I don’t understand how this is even possible? Unless you just spend a million of donuts on coins and do 3,000 pulls or something? Even then, based on my experience, you wouldn’t have enough.

        • Me either…

          • Yeah, I’ve been playing non-stop, have 34K chips, got a daily challenge that rewarded me 20 tokens, getting lots of coasters and horseshoes at Moe’s, etc and I’ve only been able to upgrade the first 3 steps towards tier 2. I’d think you’d have to be operating outside the space time continuum to already have unlocked tier 3 plus crafted the items.

            • Yea. I’m using donuts to try and go from level 1 to level 2 (via buying tokens…which I DO NOT recommend doing. This is only for purposes to get info for the site…) and I’ve already spent about 600 donuts and still only halfway to level 2…

          • Wow! I was wondering cos I have a neighbor who usually has everything unlocked and fully upgraded before I even know there’s an update available, but not this time (even though I didn’t notice the update until it had been out for 2 days). It looks like EA finally figured out a way to slow down the whales and the hackers.

  9. From the Desk of Hank Scorpios:

My top task for MOE is to work at his Gaming Slots. It is a 16hr task and I have finished it once w/o effect. Is this like the Narobics tasks for Luann, Mrs. Hoover and Marge (remains at the top of the task list even after the questline has finished) or is there an easter egg afoot?

May your Lunchroom serve Hot Dogs and burgers and beers tomorrow,
    Hank Scorpios

    p.s. I love German Beer!

  10. Which is the best? upgrade or craft first?

  11. Has anyone (at Max FP level) recently gotten donuts from tapping gamblers in neighbors’ towns? I haven’t seen any since the event started and I’m not sure whether that’s by design or if I’m just in a dry spell.

  12. My daily challenge says to collect 5 courtesy tokens.

Anyone know how to collect them?

  13. Why can’t I place Mr Burns casino on the boardwalk tiles???? IMHO this is where it goes!!

  14. sweetheart_vic@yahoo.com

    Need help:
what does it mean when it says acquire a coaster?

  15. I only just realised there was an update, I’m an idiot 😭

  16. In the example above, you have to complete 5 challenges to get the bonus prize. Mine started, and stayed, at 5 for a long time, and just today it jumped to completing 15 challenges for a bonus prize. A friend who plays has to complete 10 challenges for a bonus prize. Is it totally random, the number of challenges one has to complete?

  17. My Daily Challenge is to ‘Play Slots’. I’ve done the slots like 7 or 8 times, and it won’t clear. I’ve tried tapping the Gaming Moe’s directly, going through the task on the left, and going through the daily challenge icon in the upper right. Nothing works. Any ideas?

  18. Will there be a ‘how to level crafting’ type post? I’ve crafted stuff but the levels aren’t filling.

  19. I got the same thing. Unlike real slots it’s pretty hard to lose

  20. I see from the Craft menu there are a few levels. Do we need to craft every single item in order to get to the next level ?

  21. How come professor Fink offers me flights for $5.99 in my one town, but not the other? Both towns are at the same level.

  22. Thank you for the clarification!!!

  23. Hello from Cypress Creek!

I do apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but I got a Daily Challenge to Acquire 5 Courtesy Chips. How do I go about doing that?

    Yours in Conquest.

    Hank Scorpios

  24. I made the mistake of skipping mine, ended up with collect 5 yoga mats. I won’t be making the same mistake tomorrow.

  25. Hello, I am having a different issue and I’m not sure if it is casino-related but it only popped up after the most recent update. I am still in the process of leveling up my redwood tree – currently on the level with Lisa and Snake getting fertilizer – and after each of them finished their tasks last night (getting me to 230 of the 240 I needed), I am no longer able to assign them to the redwood anymore. Anyone else having this issue?

  26. Are or will courtesy chips be good for anything other than trading them in for casino chips? I have 24 courtesy chips, and I’d like to trade them in for casino chips, but I want to make sure I’m not going to need the courtesy chips for anything else.

    Thank you.

  27. I saw in the daily challenge tutorial on the game that you can skip a challenge. I haven’t done it yet, but it does it let you move on to the next one, and how do you do that?

For ex. if the daily challenge isn’t casino based, skip to hopefully one that is. Thanks,

Also, how do you cheat on Moe’s slot machine? I saw that as well in the tutorial but i can’t do it.

    Thanks,

  28. I just got got 20 gold tokens for my daily event. I’m glad to see that you can get crafting materials as well. Like others have mentioned, I’m a tad worried about acquiring enough crafting materials to upgrade tiers and such. 40-50 materials a tier (assuming it doesn’t increase as you progress.) I know I shouldn’t worry, the way they always balance these I mange to get everything, just always feels a bit overwhelming at the beginning of an event. Thanks for all the effort you all put into this sight, it’s always very helpful (:

  29. These daily challenges will be a HUUUUGEE help accumulating crafting materials. I’m a tad indifferent to crafting levels, but when you can’t change something there’s not much point complaining about it. :p

  30. I didn’t get either of them,

I got lose on the slot machine 5 times (something hard)

    • hmmm that’s a new one.

      • It was ‘win five courtesy chips’. That means you have to lose at the slot machine five times…I’ve lost seven times already but not before getting this task. I can’t lose for the good of me now, the prize was a little over 1200 chips but I switched it out. Now I have ‘make Ned power walk’ at least the prize is three donuts. So switching out may or may not get you another casino task.

        • Oh, thanks! I got this task, too, but I couldn’t figure it out, for the life of me. I’m still quite confused about this event… gambling is forbidden in my country, so all I see is some kind of coins, or quarters, or chips, some card with a B on it, little horseshoes keychains (which I have no idea how they are related to gambling) and so on… I’m lost on the terms used; maybe I’ll have to change my game’s language to English.

          • Even with English settings in a country that allows gambling, I’m having trouble keeping them all straight so far, so don’t worry, it’ll come with time. 🙂
The gold coins (or tokens) are used for Moe’s place, since slot machines (where you pull the handle) used to be played exclusively with coins (but in modern society can be played with cash). The little gold cards (squares) with the B on them are coasters from Burns casino (using the B logo for Burns, and using coasters as crafting currency because most casinos provide free drinks while gambling). The horseshoe key chains are being used for crafting currency because horseshoes are considered a symbol of luck in the US. (As far as key chains themselves, those may be for a number of reasons. They’re small and easy to carry for luck; some casinos give players items like keychains or lanyards as advertisement/loyalty, etc.) The VIP players club is used because casinos usually have a “VIP” players club. I put VIP in quotation marks because you really only have to go once and sign up. They offer you perks, like a free $25 to gamble with on your birthday, or a spin on a prize wheel every month, etc. It’s basically just a way for them to get your information as well as try to inspire loyalty to keep you coming back.
Hope that helps some, and hope you see you’re not missing out on much. 😉

            • Aww thanks for taking the time to explain this! Much appreciated. 😉 And I feel a little stupid now, lol – horseshoes are a symbol of luck in my country too. Can’t believe I hadn’t made this association before. Thanks!

          • No worries, happy to help! 🙂

    • I like the losing ones though, bc they usually pay out crafting items and not tokens!!!!

    • I got that one too. Not really hard. I got it within 20 times trying.

      • You got lucky!!! I’m at 27 tries and I’ve gotten 1.
Or maybe you’ve gotten unlucky, since winning the prize requires losing.
Half full, half empty, whatever. 🙂

    • the actual task was to lose 5 times? or was it to get 5 courtesy cards, which you have to lose 5 times at the slots to get?
