Latest In-Game Update: Bug Fix AND Item Limit Cap Increase!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So we had a little in-game update hit our games this afternoon.  This update did a few things (mostly adjusted/fixed minor little things you may or may not even notice)…but it fixed two really important things worth mentioning…

kwikemart_menu

1. It fixed the Kwik-E-Mart price Glitch (where it was $220 no matter how many you had).  The pricing for the KEM has now been restored back to it’s normal price structure…that was nice while it lasted.

itemlimit

2. IT INCREASED THE ITEM LIMIT CAP!!!  (as reported in the comments by Tapebelt) That loud sound you all heard earlier?  That was Cranky Old Guy and loads of other tappers letting out a yell when they found out they could once again place more stuff in Springfield!  The previous item limit cap was at 8500-8600, now it’s been raised.  There is a report on the EA forum that it’s now capping out at 8900.  Of course this is all unconfirmed by me (i’m no where near the cap), and only what’s been reported in the comments.  But still it’s good news!

Note: You won’t know how many items you have unless you 1) See a warning telling you or 2) Nuke your town and count.  The warnings look like this (Thanks tapebelt!):
warning

If you don’t or haven’t seen a warning, you’re safe….

And that’s it for the biggies with today’s update.

What are your thoughts on the KEM glitch ending?  Did you take advantage of it?  Thoughts on the item limit cap raising?  Helpful to you?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I earned about 200 donuts due to the KEM glitch. Didn’t think to store them, but got a nice payout on the last batch of about 200 or so, since I sold them after the glitch was fixed. I knew it wouldn’t last, but I did pick up Robo Burns and still increase my donut count.

  2. My Frank Grimes questline disappeared and he keeps getting stuck on the one task that earns gems. I can’t box him because the grave doesn’t seem to be attached and boxing it has no effect.

  3. I stored some Christmas items in an attempt to clean up an area. Realized a few had bonuses attached so I pulled them back out. Now it has restarted a nativity storyline. Has that happened to anyone else, or with any other story lines?

    • Josephine Kick@$$

Possibly a missed task from the original storyline for the placing of that item? Maybe you didn’t have the character that the task requires at that time, but do now? Only thing that would make sense to me.

    • I experienced that with the Nativity Scene and with the Outdoor Feast Table as well… I think it just re-triggers the old questline every time you pull certain event specific items out of inventory. If memory serves, storing the item again doesn’t clear the questline… you have to complete it again to get it out of your task list.

      • Got that a few times after nuking my town too. I even remember getting one task 3-4 times before it finally went into cyberspace. I was thinking I might have that task loop for eternity!

  4. Since the latest update, every time I visit a neighbor and try to go to the next neighbor, the game crashes. I can go back home after visiting the first neighbor and it still crashes. Is anyone else having this glitch?

  5. I didn’t even know any of these things existed. LOL.

  6. Michele McMullan

Has anyone had any issues with the “tap the anomaly “??? It takes me out to the friends area and when I click on the spinning black vortex in a neighbor’s town nothing much happens. Am I even tapping the right thing?

  7. I can’t get any help from ea on this so I’ll ask here. On Wednesday I could tap on robots that would walk around my town randomly whenever I logged on to my game. On Thursday those random robots were gone every time I logged on. Any help or tips are appreciated.

    • Are you playing the Scifighter game first thing? Starting the game clears any robots wandering your town.

    • I am having the same problem!! When I got back on my game after sleeping 8 hours there were zero robots in my town.

      • Did you play the SciFighter game first? Because playing the SciFighter game wipes out all of your Robots with that initial flash you see, but you get credit for them.

  8. Well, I leveled up about 8 times with the KEM glitch (didn’t use the XP collider), so I can’t complain.

Hmm, didn’t think about keeping all the KEMs to take advantage of the inevitable price restoration. Drat!

  9. Hopefully ea will also solve the glitch on players club tower, burns summer mansion and homerlayas that keep on returning to lowest level after playing the mini game in insanity cauldron

  10. It was fun while it lasted and was definitely the best glitch I’ve ever encountered in a game. Now to start selling 4000 KEM’s and to slowly net me my 15mil lol

    • I’ve seen better glitches, but I’m sorry to see this go. Oh well, back to the smaller XP farm.

      • Worked out that 16 KEM’s gives me one level up so I’m gunna set myself a goal of planting 100 KEM’s a day and then I’ll get around 5 or 6 donuts lol

        • I level up every 16-17 KEM’s harvested. I plant 40 at a time, and try to harvest 4-5 times a day. When I factor in XP earned from buildings and characters, I usually level up 2-4 times every four hours. So I’m earning 4-12 doughnuts every four (waking) hours when I’m going at it full steam ahead. So I spend 25 doughnuts every ten days to earn 300+ doughnuts over the same ten days. Pretty cool, huh?

    • Best glitch/EA mistake was level 939 update. I had almost 60 million game cash. I put my XP collider on (my own money and xp bonus is 766%) then i start do xp farming. About one hour and i was level 939 and after 5 hours i was bought, selling, bought and selling rattrap trucks. My gamecash wash 0 $ but i get over 8000 donuts 😀

      • That’s definitely sillyboys favourite glitch lol

        • My favorite was the Big Box glitch, where I could repeatedly collect daily challenge rewards from a neighbor’s Big Box store. I was able to level up multiple Heights buildings in a short span by collecting yoga mat and pill rewards repeatedly, plus the donut rewards of course. That was sweet while it lasted.

          • Damn I missed that, when was it?

          • Right after the daily challenge mechanic first came along. I think it was going for a couple weeks, but I didn’t find out about it right away so I’m not sure.

My second favorite glitch was the stackables. Squidport especially, but the extra cash from the farm and tv station was also nice at the time.

          • I don’t remember ever hearing about that one! Were you holding out on us? 😉

        • I’m not sure I would call it a glitch, but it was fun taking in all the donuts during my race to 939.

I’ve actually been involved with a number of beneficial glitches. Another favorite was the money mountain glitch. I glitches up to level 10 overs day or two. I don’t remember exactly how long it took me, but it was quick. I know a lot of other people who weren’t aware of the glitch took weeks or months to finish the mountain.

  11. The KEM glitch didn’t really make a huge difference for me, since I had limited land on which to farm, so I wasn’t buying any more of them than I usually would. (Well, I did open up a new farming area, but it wasn’t just for that…it’s the future home of my Future World!).

I do wish I had thought of buying a whole bunch of KEMs and storing them, so I could sell them back at the higher price. But I’m super busy getting ready for my trip right now, so I couldn’t really put that much time and attention into the game today (or yesterday).

  12. it takes 500,000 xp for me to level up. Is there any tricks or methods i can use to level up quickly? i read comments of people going up 700-800 levels and I just don’t understand how to do it. If someone would be kind enough to spell it out for me, i would appreciate it.

    • Read my entry in one of the other recent posts.

    • It depends on your conformity bonus and cash reserves. The short of it is that people activate the XP Collider, buy a bunch of Kwik-E-Marts, net the (enhanced) XP from finishing their construction, sell them, rinse, and repeat. At 2000XP on build, they’re the best cash-to-XP ratio in the game. (Bloodmobiles are an alternative for the less patient, but they only net 1 XP every 10 dollars, whereas Kwik-E-Marts are at worst 1 XP every 7 dollars and do better than that for the first 24.)

At around a 100% conformity plus an additional (hidden) 150% from Springfield Heights, it takes just over 14 Kwik-E-Marts per level. (With /only/ the SH bonus, it takes 33.3. So any low conformity/new players reading this are probably looking at no more than 30 per level.) If you check in three times a day, you can consistently come out with a net gain (paying off the donuts lost to the Collider and net some XP, or better if your conformity is high).

Keep in mind, you will need the cash reserves/income to keep up with this. If you go for 26 KEMs three times a day that’s a cost of $271K each day. I recommend building up to 20ish (or more) each of the Blue, White, and Orange Houses if you haven’t already.

      • I have a bonus of 175.5% and over 26.5 million sitting around. I need 500,000 XP to level up. How do you know how much XP something will get you?

        • With buildings, while they’re under construction, you can tap on them to see their on-build payout. In the case of Kwik-E-Marts, it’s 2000XP. For decorations and such, you have to calculate the number by dividing the result by your bonus.

Also, the Collider multiplies the post-conformity result by five. It’s nutty powerful. At 175.5% conformity, plus the 150% from SH, you’d be looking at just under 12 KEMs per level.

          • Does the glitch being fixed change anything?

          • What is the 150% from SH?

          • The 150% from SH is a hidden bonus you get by having all of the buildings out. All of the Part 1 buildings need to be placed, and then I think it’s just the islands from Part 2. In total, it’s about a 150% bonus (and only to XP). It doesn’t show up in your conformity bonus, but you can run the numbers by hand and see that it’s there.

The glitch being gone just makes the method more expensive. I mentioned the 26 KEMs a day. You have the default one (1) in your town, and then the next 24 you build (25 total) are all scaling in price. Any additional (26+) will be at the flat $14,400 cap. You can build 24 at a time to minimize your cost-to-donut ratio, complete them, sell them, rinse and repeat, OR you can go all-out and dump all of your money into KEMs (and thus, donuts). It’s just a question of how you choose to spend your time/money.

      • I have 100.10% bonus and then whatever Springfield heights gives and it takes me 16 KEM’s to level up with the collider on.

I’m gunna listen to your advice and buy about 20, white orange and blue houses.

With all Springfield heights building a down what is the hidden bonus all together?

  13. Anyone having issues with having hardly any robots in your town? I go in every 4 hours, go to the 3d printer hit the upgrade/do it, tap one robot, repeat and “there are no robots in your town at this time” message. It seems to only produce robots for me while I am actually in game, and not when I’m away. Bummer

  14. Merde! I missed the KEM glitch!

  15. Uh oh! By reading these comments im seeing i missed a glitch. No bueno for me, as seeing i spent the last of my donuts on supercollider and the other 100 donut building characters combo. I need to save some for other four upcoming things to game

  16. So far, I’m enjoying this event. I stopped playing during Superheroes 2. Never liked superheroes, and the only hero movie I’ve ever seen is Tobey Maguire as Spiderman in the third movie!! Plus the event was just too involved for me and felt like a chore :/

Seemed the item cap raise might have actually helped some of the lag I was experiencing when the update first rolled out. Towns that used to be laggy are much smoother and load quicker. Maybe it’s just a placebo! I don’t think I’m near the item cap…Maybe I tapped through the warning though! 😋 Then again, my cheapest piece of land is still 100,000, so I don’t have much room to put it anyway.

  17. I love this game, I love the new update, and I love these fixes. The one thing that’s just been bugging me on my Android phone is constantly being told that I don’t have enough storage on my device every single time there’s an update. I have plenty of space, and I shouldn’t have to delete all my other apps temporarily to have it download (even then it never does). I can get it to work but uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but I really don’t enjoy having to wait 10-50 minutes (depending on my wifi speed) for the game to dowload all 500+ MB of updates. It’s just a struggle.

Also… I even bought a 16 GB SD card and attempted to move the game to it but it only partially moves it and I have the same problem 😮

    • I was having that problem, but if your phone is using Marshmallow Android, look up how to adopt your SD card as internal storage. It’s different from just trying to move the app to the SD card. It totally solved the problem for me.

  18. Cranked the XP Collider on and farmed donuts off the KEM bug yesterday until the fix this morning. I made so many purchases off donut rebate deals recently that this was a great chance to replenish my supply. Also about to make 10-15 million in game cash off from buying KEMs for $220 and selling each for $3600. Thx EA. Hope everyone is having fun with the event right now. I know i am. 🙂

    • I took advantage too, but I wasn’t smart enough to buy and store them. Silly me. I thought the glitch would last forever. D’oh!

    • TONY DA T- I stored my KEMs but when I sold them I did not get the amount you’re referring to. In fact the money I was offered each time DEPRECIATED! What the fudge did I do wrong?….💜X

      • Did you sell them back before or after the glitch was fixed? The trick was to buy them before the glitch was fixed, and sell the after the glitch was fixed.

      • Probably nothing. When you buy KEMs, they go up in price with each one, until they hit a price ceiling (can’t remember the exact amount)…after that, they all stay at that same price. Well, same thing happens when you sell them…when you hit the number of KEMs at which the price had stopped increasing, then the price you get for selling them back starts decreasing (because those first bunch cost less to buy in the first place). Get it?

  19. Duh. I just went in and looked again. It says it unlocks a black hole. Sorry.

  20. I see the super collider is available in the store now. If I buy it will the black holes be available to me? If this had been answered already sorry. I’ve been busy today.

    • I just bought it. It came with a black hole and now I can buy another at 10 donuts for 25 days and a few hours.

  21. Well, nothing lasts forever. Gotta say those KEMs were a solid investment of my time. Kinda glad they’re back to normal, clearing and buying 450+ buildings every 4 hrs took up so much time………..Forget that, I want em back!

    • I am with you there. It seemed like a lot of effort, but when I saw my donut counter keep going up, I had to keep it up.

  22. Josephine Kick@$$

I knew I should have built one more time before leaving this morning lol. Oh well, it sure was nice while it lasted 😊😊😊😊😊

  23. Nice! I didn’t even notice an update but good news on the item limit.

I’m guessing there is no way to see how many items we currently are using?

  24. The cap limit increase is good news. Any way to determine our number of items, other than hitting the limit?

  25. i missed the kem pricing, but i did contact EA regarding still not having the Gil duff gardens deal issue fixed. I got a BS response…” Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Customer experience. I understand your concern regarding the issue in the game.

Did you decline the item purchase in Gil promo in-store? If yes, then we have reported issues that the duff garden remains no longer available in store.

I am hopeful you that all the information provided to you is satisfactory. You can resume your case from http://help.ea.com/en/my-cases/ and can create new case if you have any further questions and requests. We are waiting for your reply.

Thank you for understanding and being a part of the EA family, have a nice time.”
REALLY, you have reported issues…what a crock..

    • Not sure if this applies, but I got the glitch where it disappeared all of a sudden. Then when I finished all the level 60 quest line, Gil popped up and offered it again. It stayed for 7 days to purchase the deal. I have no idea if that’s what other people experienced…I wasn’t interested in it 😛

  26. Oh well, made over 250 donuts and $1 million from the glitch, can’t complain. Now I can put my town back and refill the space I made for all those KEMs ;P

  27. Omg yes!!!! Love this update! Awesome content, awesome glitches (yes, I took advantage while it lasted) and now an item increase? Seriously, makes me excited for what’s coming next! 😃

  28. I either didn’t know or didn’t remember about the KEM glitch! 🙁

  29. Woo-hoo although I have never hit the cap lol

  30. I had fun with the KEM glitch but I’m glad it’s over. It was taking me the best part of an hour to collect the XP from my KEM and to build replacements. I’ve decided to keep the KEMs I have already built and the 2000 I have in my inventory until the end of this event.
