Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

Act 1 of the Sci-Fi Event ends on Tuesday morning, are you ready for Act 1 to end?  Excited at what Act 2 might bring?

Speaking of the Sci-Fi Event…what are you planning on doing with your event items?  Creating a dedicated area of your town or working stuff into your Springfield?  Or are you just planning on throwing it all in storage when it’s over?

So the second tunnel for the Monorail arrived last week, make any major design changes?  Have you worked the Monorail into your town successfully?  Does it loop?

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  Personally, we spent the weekend down at the Jersey Shore.  The last chance we’ll get to do so before summer ends…

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

    • Looks like a future Premium character – worth double Ds (donuts), well, more like 200 donuts (without a building or anything)

[this is just a dumb joke folks, no rumors of her yet]
      🍺🍩🍩🍺

    • Would she pay out double, just like the other set of twins?

(This is why Alissa hates me…. boob jokes. 😉 )

      • (Mildly ashamed I’m male… Guys. Seriously. Wrong site)

        • Meh. I’m female and laughing myself silly. A little too much PC in the world these days. The Simpsons is my last bastion of “don’t give a *** “(self-edited, not by Alissa, LOL)

          • Thanks for laughing. 🙂

“don’t give a ass”? 😀 lol (I like to take the literal number of censored characters and figure out what the word was. Of course, the word has to not really be censorable or I can’t play the game here.)

          • Thank you for sticking

          • Grrrrr.. stupid addicts app closes the keyboard while typing!

Thanks for sticking up for the female perspective. I know you are not the only female who found it funny also. I personally thought the gif was hilarious, and sharing a laugh to make other people smile too was the only reason I posted it in the first place.

          • Hahah now that’s a damn shame. I still want to use it just to read, (because commenting with it is a nightmare!) and I know the ads help out a TINY little bit, but it is really more trouble than it’s worth. (Like the FG site! Lol)

            • The ads on the app don’t help us at all. I haven’t seen a dime from it, which is contrary to what i was told initially. And why I stopped supporting it here. The only money we get directly is from ads direct on this site.

(and yea…i’ve given the FG site 100% to Bunny. The LLC doesn’t even own it anymore. I wanted to shut it down ages ago.)

        • (What is the right site?)

          • Fine.
            I’m Mr PC…
Please consider, a newbie, underage, has just downloaded TSTO, and starts playing, but thinks they need help. They search online, TSTOAddicts is number 1 on most Google searches… and they start trawling through the blogs. Parents either take interest, are notified, are requested to view said site, and, despite the name (with “Addicts” in it 😉 the Guardian sees the strict PG guidelines and approves. And yes I know that episode was “PG”.
All I’m trying to point out is that the audience this site pertains to be purporting to, doesn’t seem conducive to the posted publication.

      • Also a girl and I laughed way too hard at this 😂 is it PG? Possibly, as it’s more innuendo than blatantly crude to warrant PG-13. But regardless, it’s pretty darn funny

    • I’d two-finger tap that! Politely, of course 😉

  1. Happy Sunday everyone! I don’t know about anyone else, but as I continue to work my way through this event, I’m already thinking ahead to Halloween🎃. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that this years event is similar to Halloween of 2013. I really did not like the last two Halloween events. Halloween should have ghosts and kids in costume trick or treating👻. I was really disappointed last year when there was no trick or treating involved at all, just stories around the campfire, which to me is a camping thing, not a Halloween thing. It would be really great if they bring back ghosts, and give us new costumes for the kids, and I’m especially looking forward to a costume for Maggie! I’m a freemium hybrid player, but I would spend my precious donuts on premium kid characters if they help with the Halloween events! What are you all hoping for in the THOH 2016 event?

Hope you all have a wonderful week! 💜

    • Someone stole my burrito™

I feel the same way, I think many would agree with you. I have a feeling this year will be pretty traditional after so many people expressing their disappointment about last years event theme.

      • Oh, I really hope it is! It would be great to have a traditional Halloween event, with some Simpson mischief thrown in of course! 😉

    • I know what you mean. My first event was THOH 2014 , sent kids trick or treating, I barely had any kids, couldn’t craft much but did manage to get Hugo, ( the good right twin) 😉 so , the whole year building up to Halloween 2015 , I ‘treated’ myself and bought every kid available. Much to my dismay, NO trick or treating.last year. 🙁 I guess the ‘trick’ was on me. Lol. Jk. Not so bad. Either my standards are super low or Im just a sucker for Halloween 😆🎃 but I thought last year’s event was pretty good. My only real complaint was that the screen was still to bright and not alot of swirling leaves going across the screen, which I loved from previous halloween events. Now. “Where’s my burrito.” “Where’s my burrito” 😋

    • For sure. And annoyed at never being able to use awesome skins/tasks earned from previous events. I know the questline can’t rely on them for noobs, but the rest of us should be able to enjoy and benefit from our long time playing too.

    • I’d love to see trick or treating, ghosts, TP-ing and egging houses, and candy. I could even see them doing some kind of pumpkin monster to tap. There’s lots of potential for great halloween stuff (plus that background music that I love)

  2. I just notice Maggie like shooting people. She shot Mr Burns, and 7 gangsters in the arm

  3. What are these cubes in my friend’s town and the things next to the black matter is it the next two acts?

I came into a friends town and there was a dialogue of a 3D square being called a frinksomethingorother and Hawkins tells him it’s a cube

  4. I’ve read the SIB posts for both of these, but I’d like to get some additional input…should I get Frank Grimes (160 seems a bit high, but there is some good value in that “package”) and/or Robby the Automaton (which I’m gathering is just a decorating, not an NPC). Are people who got these happy with their purchase? I don’t have a particular attatchment to Grimes from a show character perspective…it’s more a question of how good it is to have him (and his grave) in the game. I could use a little help with event currency (because of the limited Wi-Fi access I had during vacation), but I make it a policy never to get something just to help with that. But, if I am going to get Grimes at all, now would be the time to do it…

    • Hi Sandra. I have both Grimes and Robby. Robby earns a nice %, and says a funny thing when tapped. Frank Grimes is actually one of my favorite one off characters from the show. I love the way he is frustrated with Homer. Grimes is perhaps the most “real” of all of the Simpsons characters in that he see’s all of the insanity of the other people of Springfield, and no one else there seems to get it.

Grimes is a helpful character to have for this event. He earns double the dark matter of the alternate universe Homer’s. So that’s nice. I say- if you have the doughnuts to spare, then get him. It’s a personal choice in the end, but now is a good time to get him if you’re ever going to get him.

      Hope this helps.

By the way……I just got home after a one week vacation with bad WiFi. Soooooo frustrating.

      Good luck, and happy tapping.

      • Thanks!

I’m about half a day behind in the calendar because of my vacation…hoping maybe I can catch up (with or without a premium purchase), but, if not, I’m hoping to at least get close enough that Sgt. Skinner can be bought for just a few donuts.

I’m also mayyyybe considering getting the Elysium building…I want all that interested until I saw it lit up in a neighbor’s town, and the extra currency would be nice right now. But, at 110 donuts, I’ll probably end up chickening out on that purchase.

I actually have quite a few donuts saved up right now – more than I’ve ever had, I think – but I know there’s some stuff coming up I want to get (Frink and teleporters) and I’m also worried I’ll get caught short if/ when there’s another yard sale. If I could just get three more completed QuickThoughts surveys done, though, I’ll be able to cash in for the final $10 iTunes credit I need to have earned enough to buy a boatload of donuts for “free,” and I would be less stressed about getting some of the things I’m on the fence on…

        • if you are concerned about a donut shortage, i would definitely pass on grimey and robbie. even i don’t have either in my game.

and for what it’s worth, the elysium building, imo, is one of those purchases you make not because it’s practical, but because it’s immaculate.

        • Maybe I’m the wrong person to ask now. Ever since I started farming for doughnuts, I buy just about anything I want. In past events, I would never even consider buying something like the Elysium project building, but I bought it this time, because I had the doughnuts. I used to cringe every time I was about to spend doughnuts on a premium thing. Now I hardly bat an eyelash.

So there you have it. The way I see it, if you have the doughnuts, then buy it if you want it. I also recommend keeping many millions in cash on hand in case you want to buy something, and you’re short on doughnuts. If you have a lot of game cash on hand, you can always do the rat trap delivery truck or blood mobile trick. Again- since I started farming for doughnuts, I haven’t had to resort to the truck tricks.

You know- the more buildings, characters and % earning decorations you have, the more cash and XP you earn. The more XP and cash you earn, the more doughnuts you earn. The more doughnuts you earn, the more characters, building and % earning decorations you can buy. It’s a positive feedback loop.

Good luck, and happy tapping. 😎

          • I’ve got something like 510+% bonus so at this point I just activate my collider once a week. No farming, play where’s Maggie, cancel daily tasks until they offer doughnuts, railyard and that’s about it. Everyonce and a while I farm some rat trap trucks at the beginning of an event but with this system have stayed 100% premium and haven’t spent a dollar in a long time.

          • It’s great isn’t it? I upped my bonus to 750%+ and can now buy cash with donuts and generate even more donuts from the cash. I can now farm 200+ donuts in a day if I play constantly 😀. Needless to say, I’m buying anything i want – spent over 1,000 donuts so far this week, would be more but I’ve run out of sensible places to put the electric cars!

            • How did you get to 750%? I’m at around 270(?), and, unless they have another “mistake” (like the tennis courts) or craftable, like the wailing walls, it doesn’t seem like spending donuts to buy items that offer a couple of percent each is gonna really pay back for the donuts spent (and I’d have to buy a zillion of them).

          • I just started KEM farming a week ago, and am very happy so far, although not the instant gratification of rat trap trucks (but not the cash drain either). Any pro tips on best practices (i.e. what’s the ideal number of KEM’s at a time, or any other tips you have)? Thanks!

          • Do you think it’s worth it to try farming with an 80% bonus?

        • I also keep mulling over the Elysium building. I don’t normally buy buildings by themselves especially for such a high price. But…. Elysium is pretty darn cool when lit up. (The only stand alone building I’ve picked up thus far was the animal shelter.)

    • If you like visual tasks, I don’t recommend Grimes. He only has one visual task and it’s only four hours long.
(No, I don’t consider grave dirt bouncing up and down to be a visual task, despite the icon.)
I like having the grave next to all my Homer graves, but I kinda wish I hadn’t paid 160 D’s for it, even if they were free.
Robby isn’t a bad buy for a tech area. It’s a cool decoration, but I wouldn’t call it a high priority.

      • Thanks! Although the 4-hour task is one that I use most frequently, I’ve been cooling back off on Grimes since I got back on track with the calendar.

  5. I may have missed this a while ago, but I’ll ask anyways.

Does anyone know if the pro version of the android TSTO Addicts app for android will ever work again?

  6. Today I watched Japanese “Shin Godzilla”. A 2016 movie. Some amazing action scenes from the creature. And we get to see him much longer than the last US version. But overall entertainment value, I still prefer the US version.

I have completed Act 1 a few days ago. Sgt Skinner has funny animations. Looking forward to act 2 to see the new items.

  7. 390 thingys away from Sgt. Skinner. Missed a lot of tapping time due to the minor inconvenience of work. I was sweating on getting him when I looked at how many more I needed yesterday. So keep tapping all you Addicts if you haven’t got him yet. Happy Sunday too. Loved the blogiversary video, looking forward to part two. 🙂

  8. So I have a theory about the Halloween event… I know we are in the middle of another but I’ve been thinking that what if the whole presidental race is molded into the Halloween event. Like i think it’s something EA would do and it’s the perfect time to launch the trump thing since the episode came out years ago. What do you guys think?

    • I’m still hoping for Halloween Island of Lost Souls event. While all the candidates running for president are terrifying enough for Halloween chills I still rather see EA do something different for THOH.

      • I would love Dr. Hibbert’s Island-Themed Event so much! Maybe like a Seperate little Krusty-Land theme limited to only players who played during the event. There you could earn special Animal Skins for characters, (Or maybe seperate characters for them!) Things like the pool from the end of the episode, Animations of Cat Marge scratching homer. That would be an amazing Event IMO. (Maybe even just a REALLY FREAKING HUMONGOUS GIL DEAL of it.)

  9. Why is the hover car from the prize track so big, as big as some buildings lol?

  10. I love how in events, when you go to visit neighbors it shows how much event currency they have. Makes it easy to see people who aren’t playing the game any more

  11. I’ve been on camp since last Thursday with 13 Guides and 6 other leaders. We were in tents until yesterday, however moved indoors yesterday afternoon.
This was because we had an non-grounding lightning strike occur over our camp site which gave some people, including me, static shock. I saw some of the lightning as I was serving breakfast at the time and it was very much like a crackling firework. We were very lucky to not have any serious injuries occur and all of us were very scared by it. There were more storms headed our way so we chose to move indoors given what had happened that morning. My already big phobia of thunderstorms just got bigger and I don’t ever want to repeat the experience!
There’s one positive to this from a gaming point of view- there’s 4G signal in the building whereas the camping field gets sporadic 3G signal.

    • Yikes! Whereabouts are you Nessy? I’m a fellow Guider and that would really make me nervous too. I recall one spring camp where we had to evacuate all the Guides and Pathfinders into the main building because of an absolutely massive thunderstorm. It was right on top of us, and just biblical is the word for it. That was pretty crazy. We were fortunate that several parents drove up the next morning (an hour away – and unasked) picked up all the sopping wet sleeping bags, drove them home, dried them in their dryers (must have taken all day), and drove them back up to us. The girls were toasty dry the next night and we had an excellent camp.

  12. What’s the typical number of robots that you tap from the Polyvac?? I get lower 40s but I want to go higher! lol

  13. I admit i’m OCD, and ever since i found out about the secret bonus objects I’ve been trying to find out what objects give us an extra boost. I’ve figured out the SH buildings contributions but by my calculations it looks like i’m missing *some* other contribution and that’s bugging me….not enough to nuke my town and hunt it down that way…but it’s close 🙂

Since I couldn’t find a table listing these on the site each:
Modern Mansion gives an additional 5%
    Business Center gives 2%
    Valet Parking gives 3%
    Deluxe Condo gives 1%
    Classic Mansion gives 4%
and the resort gives nil (so if you are tight on space, you can store those)

Does anybody know of any other secret % boosts other than these?

    Scott

  14. Question – I want to put on the XP Collider when I build the Sit N Rotate, but do I turn it on before I place it or when it’s done building?

  15. Hello, all. I hope everyone is well. As a major nerd, this sci fi event has easily become my favorite. I’ve rearranged my town so a good quarter of it is futuristic city. Good times. I’m behind on the calendar because of my random time commitment, though. I log in a LOT, but it tends to be closer to 3 hour and odd 2 hour intervals. Sometimes I play for a while and catch the 4 hour alternate Homers reset and mini game, but on average I think I’ve only been able to do that 3 times a day. Oops.

  16. I’m going to try out something I saw someone recommend during Superheroes 2, to save daily missions that reward event currency to the next act in order to get a head start. I will get Sergeant Skinner (or whatever his rank is) next time I Whack-a-bot™ and I won’t bother about the bonuts this act. This means I won’t need the daily mission rewards this act and I will save them instead in favor of this experiment. I hope that it works during this event too. Wish me luck 🙂

    • Good luck. It does work. I only have like at most a dozen (out of 100) neighbors who already have Sgt. Skinner. I’m getting mine in a few hours. I will also save my Daily Challenges, but I’m not very much ahead at this point.

Anyways, I came to comment because I love “Whack-a-bot™” for the SciFighter game. 🙂 Thank you.

    • LAVETT- Also save Sarg Skinner’s questline til the next act as it pays out event currency. It’ll swap for the next act and boost your totals too. Good idea on the daily tasks, tho if I get future bucks I’ll clear those as they carry over til the event ends…..💜X

  17. I’ve asked this before but couldn’t remember which thread I had posted on. Is it truly possible to get a nuke from the rocket pad (launch every 12hrs). All I have ever got is debris or ant signs. Also is there a limit to the amount of debris you can have? thanks for your time.

  18. Hey, hey, hey all you tapperoos,
Another week another major security flaw with iOS.
After turning my iPad into a brick with 9.3.4 I am loath to upgrade to iOS 9.3.5 in the middle of a major event and run the risk of bricking my iPad again… even after being made aware of the fact that this is a severe security risk.
Sure you can restore your device but there is a lot of mucking around and time lost doing that, so to upgrade or not upgrade… what a conundrum… what is everyone going to do?

    • I had no problem upgrading to 9.3.4, but I haven’t gotten a message that 9.3.5 is available yet… At any rate, I can’t update until my company tells me I can (it’s their device), and they usually do some testing before they give us the go-ahead.

      • Didn’t you say that you also had an iPad 2 Sandra? or did ‘the company’ update your device?
From your comment 9.3.4 didn’t brick your iPad, but it did mine, and that’s why I hesitate about another possible bricking episode in the middle of a major (difficult) event, as every hour seems to count during act II.
Maybe we both should have taken advantage of the Big Ben glitch and gained some time.
Anyway when 9.3.5 was first released Apple didn’t get pushy about it, now I have to keep on dismissing notification boxes every day about whether or not I want to update… even though this is a major security vulnerability I still think I’ll wait until this event is over to update. What concerns me in that choice is that iOS 10 is about to pushed out, and in that case we might only be given the choice to update to that version and not have the ability to do an interim update to 9.3.5, what do you think?
I did take a chance with my B game which I play on my iPhone 5, and 9.3.5 completed without a problem.
From the sounds of things your A game seems to be going fine? even with the latest in-game update things are still slow, future Lisa still looks achievable.

        • No, it’s an iPad 4. Not sure whether I’ll ever get an newer version, but, frankly, I’m lucky to even have this one, so I’m not asking, lol! I’m up to date, iOS-version-wise, and everything seems to be fine.

My “A game” is my only game…. This game, coupled with this site, has already taken over massive chunks of my life….no way I could deal with having multiple towns. (Plus, that never really interested me, anyway.) I marvel at people who can manage multiple ttowns and still have a life!

But, yes, my game is going fine…the BDB “exploit” gave me the breathing room I needed… I’m just a day or two ahead of the calendar, like I normally have been at this point in most of the other events. I never wanted to use it to just race through the whole act…that didn’t seem like fun to me. I just used it to get some breathing room, since tapping five times a day, four hours apart, just isn’t an option for me.

          • Neat! First iPad with Retina display.
I hear what you’re saying, 4x a day and you just get by, 5x a day is a real grind and realistically not achievable by most players, but the attraction of ‘el presidenté’ is too much…
Have you seen the comments about a must have premium buy coming up in act III? Might have to defect and check out other web sites, or I suppose keep those sprinkles for BF, not far away now.

            • Well, based on a glitch that was in the game during Act 1, it seems likely that more teleporters will be offered, which will be an insta-buy for me…I LOVE the ones I have now!

I’m pretty well fixed for donuts right now…I mean, not enough to go totally crazy, but enjoy that I’m not worried about being able to get whatever’s coming up. And I just hit the over $100 iTunes credit mark (thanks to QuickThoughts), so I can actually buy a boatload of donuts if/when I want to. Never thought I would even consider doing that, but iTunes credits aren’t “real money” to me, since there’s not much I can use them on besides stuff like this. All of that being said, I’m still pretty picky about what I buy…if nothing else, I need to consider how much space I’m willing to devote to one event or theme.

    • Tracy - 1ltwoody920

I upgraded and so far so good.

  19. Did anyone else get logged out of their account and having trouble signing back in?

  20. Tracy - 1ltwoody920

    Interesting snafu,
I was engaged in a Sci-Fi battle, all fingers hitting the screen and I must have pushed the screen of my iPad and I knocked my self out of the game. I restarted the game, and my Battle was waiting for me to start it, as though I hadn’t yet done so.
BUT, I earned the taps that I previously had done.
(The robots cleared by the great white flash were also gone)
So, I earned 2 battles and one flash by crashing out of the game using a ‘sideswipe’

  21. In case Y’all don’t know it……
Tomorrow is a public holiday in England so we’re allowed to stay up late chatting…. you know where to find us

    http://www.tapped-out.co.uk

    😃 🇬🇧

    • Happy early holiday. It’s so good to see you here my friend, I’ve been missing you.
I also thought of you when ordering on Amazon, they had a thing you can stick in your drain that shreds hair and prevents blockage not a bad price either. Maybe they have such a thing on your side of pond. Lol silly thing, but reminded me of you and sent you some positive thoughts.

  22. Another week and I am still sanding the deck. Just about half way done now. So far I have been working on it for about 3 weeks. It is very hard on my shoulder and I have to wait for it to dry out every time it rains and we have been getting a lot of rain recently (that is my story and I’m sticking to it).

  23. Anyone else have the spontaneous raining donuts glitch with your donut boat?

  24. Hi. Lee

    TSTO news…
I’m loving the mountain glitch and now have a pathway from my town to SH that I can build on! I’ve yet to see any characters use it but the robots certainly do. Perhaps it is something we can expect in the future from EA?

Really enjoying this event so far. But I do wish thEAy would add a way to help struggling neighboureenos!

    Other addict news…
I absolutely LOVED the video! Truly looking forward to part 2!
    What fun!!!

Anyhoo. ..I’m at the Slaughtered Lamb now so you won’t get much more sense outa me 😀

Drinks are on the house ☆

    PS…Hi Lee ♥

  27. Is Lee here?

  28. Hi 🙂

  29. Non-TSTO comment:
Whats new? Well, I had Lasik laser vision correction surgery last Friday. So now after over 18 years of wearing glasses every single day, it feels wierd to be able to see 20/20 without glasses. If Milpool879, Tapebelt,  Brittj87, Cube3dex, Ciara, or anyone else want to use their advanced artistic skills to remove the glasses off my Simpsonized self-portrait Gravatar, I’d really appreciate it.

    TSTO comment:
Because of my surgery, I had to avoid staring at a screen that whole weekend. I did not play my game or visit this site (or watch TV, or use a computer, or read, or strain my eyes much) from Friday morning until Monday evening. That put me a little behind in the event. But now I’m about 500 dark matter away from unlocking Sgt Skinner. Should have him this afternoon hopefully. Overall, I’m really enjoying the event.
Also, glad to see so many people enjoyed the Bracket Battle. Apologize I wasn’t there to reply sooner to all the wonderful comments everyone left.

    • Ohhhh challenge.. . LEE …game face ON! 😀

    • Congrats on your new vision! Everyone I’ve known who has had that procedure has had a great experience with it. It must be weird to suddenly be able to see perfectly, unaided!

    • Good to hear this! I think I may be too old to do the procedure. I got both short and long sightedness.

      • Sean, if you are curious about it, talk to your eye doctor. I had the procedure six years ago (when I was 46). The dr told me that i was getting to the age where I’d need readers and that the procedure might accelerate that. I went ahead and have no regrets (and he was right…started needing readers about three years ago)… But driving or seeing a movie without glasses is great, and the readers I need for close vision now can be easily found for $5 at any drug store. I’ve absolutely no regrets and wish I’d done it earlier.

        • Hey thanks for sharing the experience! I am wearing a short sighted glasses at moment and had friends shouted at me to get a progressive lens whenever I took out my glasses for close reading.

    • Good to SEE you back !!!

    • Congrats! Are they doing the surgery on younger people now? (You sound younger than 60.) I always wanted the surgery, but the one thing I’d miss is having blurry vision at night while I sleep… If I have such great vision that I can read things on the wall, then how will I fall asleep? (as a silly example of an issue)

Let us know how the vision feels next week after you actually get to use it. 🙂

If no one else photoshops your gravatar, I’ll give it a go.

    • Awesome! Several years ago now, I had the SBK procedure done with the wavefront mapping. It was incredible. Very minor discomfort. I had it done around 9 am, was home about an hour later. I had stockpiled several audiobooks, but ended up just sleeping most of the day. I was able to eat dinner, and see pretty well that night, although I followed doctors orders and went back to sleep. Went back to the doctor the next morning, and was declared better than 20/20, already legal to drive, and zero pain whatsoever (I did use the numbing eye drops fro a few days). I had been hesitant for years to commit to the surgery, thinking why take any risk unnecessarily, but then I kept having complications that had me having to take out my contacts for weeks, even months at a time (after 20 years of no issues ever with them). The doctor told me, frankly, it was an age thing (I wasn’t even 40, boo hoo….) and would keep happening, so I took the leap. It was definitely weird at first, but now I can’t even remember having glasses – best thing I ever did – especially since I’m very outdoorsy, and it was always a giant pain trying to keep my contacts sterile, etc.

    • That’s so cool! My vision is terrible. I’ve had glasses since I was 10 (so 9ish years) and haven’t been to the eye doctor since my health went downhill a couple years ago. I’m trying to get in again soon because I’m having trouble seeing, even with my glasses on. I told my sister how I’d love to have lasik done, she told me that she was worried that I’d go blind and then accidently poked me in the eye. Told her she didn’t need to worry about the surgery blinding me, she’d take care of that herself 😂 Enjoy your clear vision, my friend! Look at all the leaves on the trees lol
