Sci-Fi Event Act 2 is Live!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Welcome to the wee early morning hours…at least here on the East Coast. It’s just after 3am on the East Coast of the US…but who can sleep with a black hole invading our pocket-sized Springfields?!  Act 2 of the Sci-Fi Event is upon us….so have at it my friends!

Remember…this is an automatic change in your game.  Nothing to download, it should just start up in your game..

Hawking will start this for you with dialogue from Stephen Hawking and Chief Wiggum.  This will be followed by the 4hr tasks for the Multiverse Homers, Lisa and Bart.  Oh, and you will have to complete the Act 1 questline.  So if you didn’t complete it yet, you won’t see the new questline.

Act 2 runs until September 13th

Just what does Act 2 have in store for us?  Let’s take a look…

sci-fi icon

New Prize Currency for Act 2.

ico_cur_scifi2016_time_lg Chronons

So the ability to earn Dark Matter is now gone.  Your counter prize track for Act 2 has reset to zero because you have zero Chronons.  So forget about the matter and now it’s time to start over with Chronons.

You’ll earn Chronons very similar to how you earned Dark Matter in Act 1….

-Tapping Robots (They drop ) (REMEMBER: Playing the Mini Game/4hrs clears your town of ALL the Robots..and you get credit for them.  Confused?  Read this post)
-Sending the Multiverse Homer’s on tasks at the PolyVac (Premium sending Rocker Maggie & Frank Grimes on tasks there)
-SciFighter Mini-Game
-Tapping Robots in a Neighbor’s town
-Tapping Anomolies/Cubes in a Neighbor’s Town

Everything pays out the same as it did in Act 1.

There’s also a new Robot to tap in the mini game

Tap these twice in a row to clear them.

Act 2 Personal Prizes

Act 1 Prizes…

If you didn’t collect them all… you can still access them by tapping on the “ACT ONE PRIZES” tab in the Personal Prizes area. As you can no longer collect items for them, your only option now is to pay donuts to outright buy each one left at the point you left off at. (Just like every other event recently.)

Act 2 Crafting

Crafting remains, as it was during Act 1, for Act 2.

You can view the details on how to craft…including using Future Bucks…here

  1. I bought Frink, he’ll never be that cheap again, but had to buy donuts first as I had less than 200, so EA™ are happy, I’m happy, Professor Frink is happy, my dog is happy, Alissa is happy, everyone’s a winner baby.

    😃 🇬🇧

  2. I made Sgt Skinner and one round of Bonuts. It was definitely tighter as I play hourly when not at work and every 4 hours while earning my bread and butter – but it can be done!.

  3. I’m pretty annoyed that they introduced a new tougher robot in the poly-vac mini game. Both times I’ve played now, my totals have been consistently lower than when playing the old version. I wouldn’t care so much, but is seems like I’m constantly struggling to get enough robot parts for crafting while future bucks are way too plentiful (at least at this point).

  4. Must. Get. Future. President. Lisa!!!

I wish that her position on the prize track was switched with future Bart’s….I could live without getting him (although I’d be disappointed), but I’m gonna have to do whatever it takes (within reason) to get future Lisa!

  5. I’m loving the Big Digi-Ben! It’s not as tall as I thought it would be, so it doesn’t block other items. I am loving the added feature of clearing all my robots every hour instead of waiting every four hours. It looks really nice too 🙂 I love all these new items! Future-Proof Home looks awesome next to my Springfield GreenHouse area!!

    • Rumor has it that Digi Ben will display the time of day after the event is over. I think that’s pretty cool, but not sure how EA is going to make that work with different time zones.

    • I have to buy this I love the count down and zaps robots every hour…..does this include when I’m not logged On?

    • It is a nice tower, neighbor. 😉 I agree about it’s size and all that, too.

I think I’m one of those people that would like to have all the unique items in the game. In this case, the only clock so far.

  6. Saw the new prizes, which included a future Simpsons house and future kwik e mart. Getting excited about the new future Springfield area of my town, it’s got a lot of potential with these prizes. You think Mooch Bart and President Lisa are separate characters or skins? Bet you are getting sick of getting that question during this event.

  7. I’m really enjoying the event so far, but I realized something today that I think might have made a lot more sense in-game, especially from the standpoint of all of these Future/Sci-Fi items and how they fit into the game.

I know it’s too late now, but wouldn’t this event have made more sense if the PolyVac was in Springfield. It could still fend off robot attacks, but it also gave an option to transport you to Alternate Springfield, which would be a jump like Krustyland.

You would then have the option to craft all of these out-of-place-in-normal-Springfield items there, and you could send these alternate universe characters on jobs there (similar to the way many characters have Krustyland jobs). The jobs would pay Future Bucks, in addition to the ones that you get during the event, and you could use them to buy land in Alternate Springfield as well as the houses, decorations, etc.

The reason this popped into my head is because other than a few items, many of these items just don’t fit anywhere in “normal” Springfield. Just seems like a potential opportunity lost…although maybe no one else likes Krustyland and wouldn’t welcome another area for development. I just thought it would solve the problem of adding land to the existing Springfield and provide a better home for these new items.

    • I was under the impression that many were annoyed by having to wait for another screen to load in order to keep playing? Krustyland is very underutilised overall; I probably wouldn’t even bother myself now that I’ve completed the questline, if it weren’t for the (very small, granted) possibility for bonuts via Sideshow You.

BUT, it *would* be nice to add more of the items we earn/purchase to our Krustylands (especially since they’ve REALLY stepped up the amount of Events)! It might even regenerate some interest in the area!

I could definitely make a feature of Wild West *or* “Futureland” items over in Krustyland!

    • I’ve been saying that ea should just let us place event items like these (esp the holotheater) in krustyalnd . Maybe some more people would try in the events.

  8. I bought Frink’s lab complete with Frink and Lady Bot. But after doing so Gil’s deal has disappeared. Does that normally happen? I had to wait to get Rocker Maggie until after buying Frink. But shouldn’t Gil’s deal still be there? I even hard closed my game and still didn’t return.

  9. I got sgt Skinner and two rounds of bonuts, but for the first week I worked day and night every four hours to get the prizes. So I guess I will need to do the same in round 2! Sic! I need my sleep!

  10. Pretty disappointed with Act 1, I tapped consistently 3-4 X per day and missed Sgt Skinner by less than 400 dark matter. Hard to play more than that unless I lose sleep over a game. Starting to feel like Mellace1972 took my feelings and put them into words. Not excited about Act 2 knowing all prizes are unacheivable at my current rate.

    • If you were that close, you should have been able to get him for just a very few donuts (like, maybe, 35?) by rushing the prize track at the end. That’s what I was gonna do if I couldn’t quite make it, but, thankfully, I did make it, with a few hours to spare. 🙂

  11. I bought Ladybot and future-proofed home combo for 100 doughnuts. Good deal. Any character/building combo for 100 doughnuts is a must buy.

  12. KEM prices have gone up slightly. It looks like the second KEM you buy is $680 now, instead of $220. The prices go up from there, but still top out at $14400.

    • I’m telling you…they’re gonna make changes. Too many people abusing it. Someone commented yesterday they have over 100k donuts from it. That’s just abuse.

      • I’ve only got a 50% bonus (level 100 and something), do you think it’s worth trying to farm while it lasts? Or do you think it’s too much of a hassle/take too long to do effectively because of the bonus?

      • It’s still a good deal. I’m just a small time farmer compared to some. Maybe we should all be quiet about it now? I know that I’m one of the worst offenders, but sometimes I can’t help myself. I want to be able to help others farm if they want to, and the conversation always spirals out of control. I think maybe I won’t respond to requests for explanations anymore. I’m shooting myself in the foot now. 🙁

      • 100K??? And here I was proud of myself for netting 53.

      • OK. Never mind. I’m an idiot. The pricing hasn’t changed. I had accidentally stored 6 KEM’s in inventory (instead of selling back). D’oh!

        • If you want to talk about things like that in private….there are two sites I can think of that have the option to private message other readers
Maybe we should always do that with talk of advantageous glitches
          😃 🇬🇧

          • I’ve talked about farming so many times (as have a lot of other people on this blog). I’m done talking about it. In fact- I’m sorry I ever said anything at all. I wanted to help people, but now I think it’s better kept quiet. I’m probably going to get a whole bunch of questions now that I said I don’t want to talk about it. It’s like Pandora’s box.

        • That’s what it sounded like happened. Glad you figured it out. I don’t think EA will change how this works. Possibly they’ll continue to raise the highest KEM price, but for me, I don’t really even buy them that far up.

The way they have it written about using the XP Collider, it makes it sound like it’s supposed to help you level up. So, if anything, the change I can imagine EA making (and still, not even this) is to deactivate the collider once you reach the final level (60 or 939, I’m not sure).

    • We can never have anything nice! 😡 Some people don’t know when to quit. What do you even DO with 100,000 donuts?? I feel like 1000 is a decent safety net.

    • I noticed that, too. Before, when I was done selling back all of my farmed KEMs (as opposed to the few I have as part of my town’s design), it would cost me $440($420?) to get the first farming KEM. Now it’s around $900. However, it seems that they still top out at the same number, so I’m not sure that it’s a really big deal.

      • Hi Sandra. Check your inventory. You may have inadvertently stored some KEM’s in inventory instead of selling back. That’s what happened to me.

        • I think you should change your handle from “sillyboy” to “cleverboy”…I think that’s exactly what happened! I shoulda thought of that on my own, too, because that had happened once before, a while back, and I figured it out then. I’m just gonna chalk it up to the brain fog I’m in from this nasty cold I came down with a couple of days ago (the day after I got home from vacation).

  13. I have been waiting for some kind of sale to get Frink. Super happy that I got him a bit cheaper and with the Lady Bot as a bonus!!

  14. After logging in and completing my morning TAP routine, I have 665 chronons. I finished the first Sgt. NAME REDACTED part, and it gave the new currency. I also visited the 30 friends, Sci fighter, reset my Homer army, started the new questline, visited Krustyland, cried over the new Frink deal because it’s a GREAT deal if you didn’t buy Frink…

Right now, I don’t have enough experience with the new act to tell if it’ll be crunch time again. BUT I will say my friends with names from A-E will get visits from me often this time. I’ll bring them cookies. 😄

  15. Okay I was live in game when act 2 dropped and had been in the store no more than a minute before hand (killing time til the next act dropped so i could collect on my alternate homers and play the mini game). So i am CERTAIN the gil deal said it still had 4 days. I sat there doing the maths of whether i could get the last 10 donuts i needed in that time frame or if id need to shell out for a google play gift card to afford it. I was incredibly disappointed when it disappeared from the store and now i read it ended with act 1. Bah!

  16. Now we have to collect “chronons”… as in, time particles?? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

    • I mean it’s a sci-fi event? In a video game? Based on a cartoon?

You may have set the bar a little high there, buddy.

      • My problem is not the absurdity of it (I’m fine with the absurd – including a bunch of vacuum cleaners connected together to create a black hole). My problem is with the lazy creative work. They really couldn’t think of anything better?

        • I’m actually a physicist and am willing to forgive them anything now that I have Stephen Hawking flying around my town….

  17. 6 hours into Act 2 and one of my neighbors already has over 29,000 chronons. I guess like most of us, he/she doesn’t have to sweat it out….,but sweating it out makes it much more rewarding.

    • LARRY- It makes one wonder why they play. Where’s the fun element? Maybe it’s our friend with 100K farmed donuts…💜X

  18. I’ve found it almost impossible to unlock all of the prizes! Every time I use the PolyVac, I earn 500 Chronos, about 2,000 Chronos a day. It would take 14.5 days to unlock all of the prizes. Hopefully, though, the questline should balance it out.

    • In Act 1 I got daily tasks several times that gave out 1100 event currency each time. I made it to all the prizes even though I started a day late and had ropey Wi-Fi away from home the whole time too.

      • That’s mostly down to luck though. I only got 1 daily task that awarded event currency (well, 2 if you count the one I saved to complete today). Think I’m going to try the trick to get more daily tasks with event currency.

        • JONGOFETT- Same here. I keep getting future bucks or Donuts. Not going to complain tho. Bring on the challenge😂….💜X

  19. What a great deal for Frink and Ladybot! My freemium game already has him, but I imagine he’ll get snapped up quickly for those who don’t. 100 donuts by itself didn’t seem too bad for Ladybot on her own, either. I’m debating.

But speaking of my freemium game, this is the first time I haven’t earned all of the weekly prizes. 250 donuts is too much to buy the sergeant, but the completionist in me is a little twitchy. Surprised I missed it, since I normally have time to spare.

  20. I was hoping that Act 1 wood have some kind of major daily task prize bonus or a task the game gave us for extra event currency, but no. I think I tapped pretty diligently, or at least as much as I had in prior events. But alas, this event leaves no room for error if you don’t log in often every day. It’s just a game. No biggie. But feeling that the deck is somehow stacked against me, amd no more levels, is making this game less fun amd easier to walk away from. On the bright side , I’m not so addicted anymore 🙂

    • How can you say that
      TSTO IS LIFE 🙃

    • I’ve heard that from a number of players, freemium and premium. Quite a few people saying, “Whoa. I spent money buying a premium set / I played every four hours and didn’t finish. I’m level 900+. My town is how I want it. The game is just a game. I think I’m about done.”

I was surprised though that the poll said 50+% of people got the Sgt.

      • Typically the ones who complain are the ones who didn’t get it. The ones who did are often silent…

Which is why we do polls…people are more likely to respond to a quick poll than comment.

        • I got Sgt Skinner easily despite the fact that I was on vacation last week with a bad WiFi connection. I was still able to play, but not nearly as much as I do when I’m home. Having Frank Grimes helped a lot I guess. I’m still really surprised that so many people didn’t get him. Weird.

      • The tapping struggle is real

I got him, but only because I spent donuts to get Frank Grimes. If it weren’t for him, I would have had to spend donuts on the prize track. At least this way I got two characters by spending donuts.

    • Blasphemy! You’re obviously not thinking clearly. Lol. 😉

    • Yep. I’m not quite as down on it as you right now, but I’m more likely to spend premium when EA isn’t forcing me to, basically. That balance is what attracted me to this game, and I’m not sure how long I’ll stick around (despite my addiction), if they change it. Having said that, they’ve always come through in the past when the majority of players aren’t reaching the prizes or goals, so I have faith EA will monitor that and adjust as necessary this time too.

  21. I taoped the info box for Big DigiBen and it said “Contains Future-Proofed Home and Lady-Bot.” Did anyone else’s say this, and is this true?

  22. Ok. I’m not panicking. However, every previous event with 3 acts…hasn’t EA incrementally increased the amount of event currency dropped by whatever we have to tap? 1 currency per robot may not cut it for the more casual player, and is going to make it tight for those of us that log on every 4 hours (or sooner).

Two thoughts: EA didn’t play-test this and will make an update to bump the currency-drop…or they want us to spend more donuts to get items that assist with currency drops.

Here’s hoping my first thought is correct…

    • I think EA decided to make it more challenging this time. There are a lot of players out there at level 60 or higher. For those players at level 60 or higher, it’s fairly easy (usually) to get everything from the events. So the only way to make it more of a challenge is to raise the requirements for getting the prizes. I think it makes sense. Otherwise it would be too easy and perhaps boring. For the newer players, it’s going to be really hard to get all of the prizes, but this is good too, because it spurs the newer player on. They’re going to want to level up and buy more stuff so that they can compete too. Does this make sense?

  23. What happened to the Gil deal? I thought it was available for four more days, but now it’s gone.

    • It ended when Act 1 ended…

      • EA said we had a few more days left, so this is what we should have. I don’t care if it’s an error on their part. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on this game to let some error on their side to screw up my donut-spending plans. They had better fix this and bring it back for a few more days. Not cool. Their screw-up, not ours.

      • After reading these comments …..I went and checked my store and it’s still there for me….timer says 3d 11h 50m ish
        but I don’t want it

        😃 🇬🇧

        • If you JUST launched it you’ll get longer. It depends on when you launched it.

          • Aaaahhhhh
Now I DO make a point of NOT tapping Gil and making him follow me round town

            😃 🇬🇧

          • It should still be available for EVERYONE (as long as they didn’t already buy it) since this is what EA originally had the timer set for. I don’t have it and was going to buy it today. Now I can’t because of EA’s screw up.

    • The timer must of been wrong. I’m mad it’s gone. Was gonna get it this morning!

      • Same here! Mine said 4 more days!!! I was waiting to see what premium items dropped with Act 2.
Welp, time to hit the new EA help question mark (TM).

        • Good luck. I tried doing the same thing using the EA question mark to take me to customer support to file a ticket and to generate a call back. Then when I went to look at my pending tickets, there was nothing there. Even after doing this multiple times, it still didn’t work.

This is a screw-up on their part, not ours and they should bring it back for the remainder of the time THEY SAID we had left. I didn’t spend all this money on a game to be told unreliable things.

  24. I believe EA have got the formula for Act 2 wrong. In Act 1, I was able to destroy 40-43 robots each Sci-Fighter game. In Act 2, and based on two plays, I’ve only been able to tap 36. When you consider that they’ve also increased the level needed to achieve each prize (double), I believe this is another example of them intentionally (sell more donuts) or unintentionally (sloppy formula) getting the event formula wrong.

    • I haven’t fully tested it, but I think the payouts on the Sci Fighter are higher.

      • I meant to check the last time I played it (a couple minutes ago), but forgot to. In four hours, I’m going to check and compare.

I’m also getting less robots per play this time around. Last act, I was averaging 45; this time, first play was 32, second was 35. It’s those double-tap bots…buncha jerks… 🙂

        • Yea its getting strange, honestly. I just had one popup that said 42 robots- payout was 166, 96, 96. Then I had one that was 43 robots and the payout was 164,94,94. So i got less for more.

          (I also had 31: 149, 79, 79, 27: 142, 72 ,72)

          • I think there is some weirdness going on too. I’ve noticed that when the Sci-fighter game ends there is a flash and all of the remaining robots disintegrate. I’m wondering if we’re getting credit for those robots too? Maybe it depends on how many robots are on screen when the game ends?

            • No. It’s paying out less, for sure. I figured out this one’s payout though:

You get 50 Chronons just for playing. 1 For each robot tapped, 2 for each jet cleared, 3/second you last (so 60 if you last all 20 seconds).

          • Yep, I wasn’t kidding – the formula is not right and we are getting less BUT need to gather twice the amount to get the prizes. My Sci-Fighter scores have been: 36, 36 and 34. No happy 😒

            • For act 2 the payout is:

Base of 50, 3/each second you last (so 60 if you go all 20 seconds), 1 for each robot tapped, 2 for each jet cleared.

    • Quick fils to get a bit more robots Platini the game, when there is 1second left use the flash, this will clear all robots on screen. this usuelle grives me 8-10 more per round. (if you dont, even thought thés sem to disintegrate, the y are not courtes in your total)

  25. Ugh, I forgot to buy Gil’s deal before it left the store. I’m a bit upset about that one. At least I remembered to buy Robot Burns.

  26. Bought the Fink package … Building disappeared, not able to buy it again . At least got the rebate donuts.

  27. Oh goody, two days longer.

  28. In a way I think I like this event even less than the last one. I don’t hate it, I just don’t care. The future stuff does nothing for me. I was glad to get the super collider and some black holes but everything else I feel no pressure to get. So that’s good I guess. I think I’ll just take what I get in the event and make a “future world”-“west world” type setup. I’ll drag out the monorail to connect the two.

  29. Does Stephen Hawking and Chief Wiggum need to be free for the Dialogue to start?

The way its written above “auto start” suggests they should start it even if they are occupied. But for me nothing happened, the event went to part 2 but the Dialogue and the main questline didnt appear. (Both of the above Characters are bussy for a few more hours)

And yes, I finished the Part 1 questline. 🙂

  30. I already have about 900 of the new currency so no worries. I’m suspicious about the fact it only cost about 210 doughnuts to get the new stuff. Is Gil coming back, that’s too cheap for a new act, what’s up?
