Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Popping in with a quick message.
As many of you have been commenting in the last 2 hours or so, you’re locked out of TSTO. You may be seeing this message (thanks Ernesto for sending this in):
It appears that a certain section (or several certain sections) of EA’s servers are currently down.
This is not impacting everyone, I’m still able to get in and many of you have reported the same. Which is why I think it’s just certain areas of the server.
My best advice is flood EA with calls, emails, chats etc if you’re locked out (try via EA’s website if it doesn’t work in game). The more people that complain 1) the more likely it is to get fixed quicker and 2) the more likely EA will extend Act 2, if only by a day.
Fingers crossed it comes up soon for everyone!

It was hard enough to finish the last act with all the prizes…
This downtime is brutal :c
For what it’s worth … I’m in nebraska and it has been down for over 4 hours now …. aaaagggg …..
I’m able to play on my phone but not on my iPad (what I generally play on). Strange. Unfortunately I am glad to see that I am not the only one having some problems.
I am having the exact same problem. I can play on my iPhone and not my iPad. Both are running off of the same software version. It’s weird. I’m just happy I can get in on one device.
Locked out on kindle and iOS so must be a regional thing 😔
Well…can’t log an error. I get to the help screen at EA, get through logging the issue for an email response, and then it just sits there.
It’s fine for me, I get kicked out about once an hour but that’s it and I can get back in. Don’t need that day extension with this little glitch lol
You don’t need it, but don’t be so selfish! I personally lost all day of progress…
How can I be selfish? I don’t work at EA lol
I’m fine, my son isn’t. I tried logging out of my game to log him in, but it gave me the error message…and kept me logged in. Guess it’s off to EA to complain! 🙂
Weirdly I can get in on my iPhone but not my iPad. Spoke to EA about 6:30 PM ET (NY City time). They are aware of the issue and are working on it, or so they said. They claimed that it should be back in working order sometime this evening and to just try periodically.
Supposedly EA is being attacked by a hacker group called Poodlecorp. Stories about it on the web and Twitter. I’ve been out all afternoon.
Best. Name. Ever. lol
Hoping it’s fixed soon. Luckily I’m still able to play. Can’t log out to play my B game but that’s okay. As long as I can still play my main game, I’m good. (playing in Massachusetts – USA)
Oddly, I’m in on my iPhone, but get the sever down message on my iPad?
Already mentioned on the open thread
My account was all messed up last night but is working perfectly now
Thanks Alissa. I have had problems for the last few hours but cannot get through to EA. There doesn’t seem to be a UK option for a call back and I have tried the email option but it won’t let me. Any ideas?
Hi Addicts. In my case I can’t switch to my cousin’s one (helping while she works). I just hope the extend the phase ending date since not fair losing time like this.
FYI, my game on iOS wouldn’t login, and when I redownloaded the game, I got the EA Network Unavailable message. However, on Android, my game loaded and played fine.
So if you use both operating systems, and your iOS TSTO game doesn’t work, try your Android version, or vice versa.
That’s odd…I can’t get inn in either my iPad or my Kindle (which is essentially Android).
Jst when I’m trying to get my last round of tapping in before bed… Now it’s already an hour or so later, still no dice
I am going to sleep now, hoping for better luck tomorrow. Good night everyone 🙂
Hey I winder if this effect tapped out or other games like plant vs zombie, battlefield and other games
Everything is working here, though very laggy. Don’t know anything about a DDoS or any other DoS attack except that I think we would all know of that happened. I thought they might have been trying to close regions to implement a patch, if that’s a thing, but my boyfriend is the tech guru in our house.
My still working but I got sighn out but I just soghn back in everything OK now
Must be pretty bad. Never seen them down for so long.
Just so everyone understands the basics….
There is no single server for this game. The Origin server is different than all of the game/data storage servers, and most of those operate in regions across the globe.
So…it is possible to take down one region while leaving another untouched. If the primary Origin server is hacked…then NOTHING in the EA game system works completely, because you can’t get to the game server.
When you see a regional problem like this, then there may be regions that are up at the same time.
And finally……. the Forum or other social media have nothing to do with the game servers.
Thanks for the info Pat! 😃
Really helpful to know. Sorry if I was rude or harsh towards you earlier.
Heard so many stories about people quitting and getting really annoyed for weeks now, over on Tapped Out FB comments! It’s a game … have some fun!
And don’t worry, about a ting. ‘Cos every little ting, is going to be alright 😌
Not good. Right before it kicked me out, it told me I was level 1 instead of 96. And yes, I was logged in to ea at the time.
That happens sometimes. You should be fine once it’s restored
If you’re not back on your old level once the problem is fixed, remove the game and reinstall. Log back in and you’re be fine
Of cours it happened just as it was time to harvest the space coins
(or whatever the current currency is this week) glad it’s not just me…

Yea but that was 11hrs ago. This just went down 2 or so hrs ago
I wouldn’t know because I haven’t heard or experienced this … 11 or 2 hrs ago! Lol 😃, EA should put a little sorry gift along with a quirky dialogue (about this poodle thing) because I think we all need some laughs … and Bonuts!
There is a rumor in the ea forums that they were hacked. Not sure if its true though because the site or the forum would be down too wouldn’t it?
i think if they were everyone would be down
EA is not hacked…just under an incredibly stupid (but currently effective) attack. Your info etc is all still safe…you just can’t get to it right now.
A DOS is just an overload of the system…but it is a hack. Anytime an outside source is able to distribute a DOS, it comes from a hole within.
by that logic, an open tcp/ip port is a “hole within”. 🙂
Although them not having an f4 or equivalent to automatically blacklist sources of the attack might be considered a hole…have a good night.
Thanks Alissa ♡
Ea was hacked. A hacker has taken credit for anyway. Poodle something. You can google to find out details.
A search on google shows EA and Blizzard are experiencing a DoS attack. I havent been able to log in for over 2 hours but my friend in the same area can. Weird
Maybe they can also answer why I get kicked out so often when trying to just play the game! So frustrating. !!!
that’s *why* you’re getting kicked out. The script kiddies of poodleCorp are bombarding EA’s computers with bogus requests and swamping them so they can’t do what we want them to do. (as for why EA doesn’t have an f4 in front of their systems to defend themselves from this kind of attack….well that’s between their stockholders and their IT staff).
I can get it! I never got why server issues only affect a percentage… surely server issues should effect everyone becuase we all share the same server, right!? Thanks for the post Alissa.
Really sorry for all those it affects, got my fingers crossed for you all!!
Uhm. No.
There are redundant servers across the globe. Loads and loads…with primary regional hubs. This is very redundancy and security.
Okay, sorry. I didn’t know which I why I put ‘right?’ so thanks for the explanation Pat!
HT, you’re thinking of server as in client-server…and if this were still the 1980’s you’d be right that we were all connecting to one giant physical server machine. But in modern times most things are distributed across many server computers that coordinate and share the work.
Ahhhh, I remember the old days, sitting in the computer lab with TSB – Time Share Basic. Each terminal connected to the computer which allowed terminal one to talk, then terminal two, then terminal three……
Fun times
p.s. I also remember (bits and pieces of FORTRAN)
Creak……
