Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Act 2 of the Sci-Fi Event hit our games last Tuesday…and let’s just say it’s made for an interesting week. How’s your Chronons count coming?
Speaking of the Sci-Fi Event…what are you planning on doing with your event items? Creating a dedicated area of your town or working stuff into your Springfield? Or are you just planning on throwing it all in storage when it’s over?
Schools all across the US are either getting ready to start back up, or started back up last week. How about where you’re located? Have you (or your kids) started school yet? Parents, are you enjoying the quiet tapping time?
How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting? Personally, we’re soaking up the last bit of summer fun and spending today at a Phillies game! Likely our last family game for the season.
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

I just noticed in my neighbours towns that some of their polyvacs are looking pretty beat up. Is this from later in the act or from losing at scifighter?
SELALE- In my town when I lose the scifighter battle (which is often) it destroys my Polyvac…..💜X
Only time I lose scifighter is when I tap start and then get distracted by someone or something (shiny things usually)

It surprises me that you lose often…I can only guess that you play on a smartphone and that the experience on that is very different than playing on a tablet! One suggestion that *might* help…when you’re playing, keep focused on your Polyvac and just tap fighters as they’re getting close, rather than letting it distract you into moving away from the Polyvac to type fighters on the peripheraphy. Maybe that would help?
SANDRASHILL- Thx for your tip. Will def try that as I was tapping perif & moving in. Also I play on iphone and it’s tougher. I logged onto a tablet & played with much better results. Not to worry tho, I won Pres Lisa today & I love a challenge. Btw, I’m glad you are still posting regularly. I appreciate you chipping in with your tips & advice and I have greatly benefited from it. I’ll let you know how I get on…..👍🏽😎

But it sounds like you really didn’t need my advice after all, though, since you’re already ahead of me! I’m still working towards the prize that comes right before President Lisa…guessing you must play more rounds per day than I do. But, if you do decide to give that technique a try, let me know if it helps you to win more often…I’m curious to hear how that turns out. 🙂
SANDRASHILL- Hey it’s working well. I only average 31/32 or 40/41 with the camera at 1 sec left on timer. I’m just so happy to be winning now. Thanks very much for your input- always welcome, always invaluable…..💜X

Let me know if that helps, okay? I play on tablets and I’ve only ever lost once (because I got distracted), but I’m thinking that the bigger form factor really helps with that game.

This is beginning to sound more and more like a (happy) glitch unique to your town, rather than something that others can replicate. Enjoy it while it lasts! 🙂
A couple of thoughts:
1) I wish EA would open up the rest of Springfield Heights, especially since the monorail tunnels were introduced. Why not? I don’t get it.
2) I hope EA keeps its powder dry and doesn’t introduce another event until Halloween. THOH and Christmas have been my absolute favorites since I started playing. They felt less special and kinda phoned in last year.
ANTHONY- I would rather have quality over quantity any day, so I agree with you 100%…..💜X
I’ve noticed in some other town that supervillains can still have battles at Orphan Alley. Can someone tell me how this is done?
You were given one set of villians at the end of the event; however, you could buy the other villains in the shop, for a limited time. People with the free set could choose to have the skin showing on the alley, which had the animation of the fight scene. If you bought the rest, you could choose which battle animation you wanted to see. So, rather than them being NPCs, they are just a skin.
After the Superheroes 2 event, there was an option to buy Felon packs, which were 30 donuts each. However, they were limited time.

At the end of the Supervillians event, you could buy felon packs, which were really skins for the alley. We were also given the first one for free, but, if you stored the alley and brought it back out, you lost that one. At any rate, if you played the Supervillians event, go over to your alley and see if it has a “felons fighting” skin on it. Personally, I keep mine switched off (just the empty alley), although I might turn it on sometime in the future, especially if there’s another Superheroes/Supervillians event sometime down the road.
ARCHERB- Just toggle between the two at the alley. It’s a building skin….💜X
Why is there no: Save Layout Option?!
I’ve mentioned this before and, I’m sure others have also, however, I cannot help but wonder why EA have not created a Save Layout option. In games such as Clash of Clans, players have the chance to save up to three seperate designs, before they nuke their town, so that they can revert back to a previous design whenever they wish.
This feature would have two very distinct benefits. Firstly, it would allow for seasonal towns (Winter theme, Summer theme, etc), thus making it more interesting for the player and visitor. Secondly, it would inspire players to be creative and rebuild their town; hence, extending game play and longevity. As it stands, I’d suggest that most players would love to revise their town but the daunting task of starting over stops them from pressing Nuke!
This, imho, is the sort of thing we should all get behind and encourage EA to add as a feature. Therefore, if you like the idea, please like this post and get behind it!
That would be nice you should ask EA about it as well, unless you already have. Personally I doubt they’re going to put time and money into that but we can dream! I’ve never tried nuking because I’m chicken but I would with that option. I do love that you can nuke or move mini sections. One of the best additions imo.
I love this idea! I would also like to see the ability to move my entire town up or to the right when new Land becomes available. .. allowing me to build next to the mountains or the beach!

Yeah. This. I built my “wilderness” area at the top left of town. Now I have a gap since the new land strip.
I’d be all for that. Tired of parts of my town but even the thought makes me shudder
On a related thought I wish new land would be released in “chunks” rather than strips. Like a 6 x 6 area rather than just the long strip. I sometimes, like with this event, want to create a new themed section of my town without moving a lot of other things around
My game file is already so massive. Multiple saved layouts would probably make is so incredibly much bigger.
This wouldn’t be the case; the software programmers wouldn’t need to save multiple games, they would just be saving a small file, which would remember the placement of the items you have and where they went. It really wouldn’t be that challenging for EA to implement.
Depends whether it was saved locally or just on their server. Of course, for the latter to work, you’d have to have an Origin account (but, then again, I think one would be crazy to play without one!).
I decided to wipe my main computer this weekend and re-install everything (it was taking forever to boot up and had some issues launching programs). So while waiting for stuff to install, I’ve been continuing the epic saga of rebuilding my Springfield… I’ve got a few areas that I’m pretty proud of, especially a sort of national park/mountain area, but there’s still a lot of buildings to sort out. I really wish EA would unlock more land in the Springfield Heights area… I have ideas for the area, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to implement them.
Back to school today. Alarm has recently gone off and I’m starting to get ready for school. Teacher training today so no kids but it’s still a little painful to get up after 6 weeks of no weekday alarms.
I’m about 3 days ahead of the calendar which is awesome and gives me some breathing space for the chaos that the start of the school year might bring- at least for this act anyway. Unlocked the future kwik-E-mart this morning. I think the Elysium has really helped and I like it because it looks like the Eden Project in Cornwall. Also had Sgt Skinner’s quest line left to do which earnt extra premium and I had bought the Robo Burns combo too.
Not sure if I’m going crazy, but does anyone else find that both Sgt. Skinner and Stephen Hawking tend to stick mainly to the dirt roads (at least when doing their 4 and 8 hour tasks)? Or is it just me?
For me the street sweeper and Nessie will not leave the dirt roads. All my other characters never go on them unless they have a task in the area.
Nessie as well for me won’t leave (I don’t have the street sweeper). I just didn’t mention her because the other two were newer. I guess you don’t have that problem with Sgt Skinner and Stephen Hawking then?

So, call me crazy but I have defiantly thought about making a Wild, Wild West area in my town using both the future items and the old west ones. Am I the only one that had that thought? 😅 (I haven’t seen it anywhere else hopefully it wasn’t already mentioned so I don’t look silly lol)
If the future stuff was more steam-punk than Jetsons, this would be an even better mix. Even so, I’m sure you could make it looks great. 👍🏻

Well, I haven’t heard that before, exactly, but a lot of folks, like I am, are planning to put their future area next to their Wild West area to make it like Westworld and Futureworld from the movies by those names.
If I didn’t like my casino area so much, I’d take the Roman stuff from that area to make a Romanworld in the same area, and I guess I should add my CoC stuff to make Medievalworld, since those were the other two parts of the Delos resort. (If I were a really good designer and willing to use up lots more land, I could also make the Delos logo out of some blue, yellow, and red objects, too, but I’ll leave that up to someone who’s much more enterprising than I.)
By the way, if there are any younger folk out there who have never seen Westworld, it’s worth checking out. The movie, based on a Michael Crichton book (the most entertaining Luddite writer ever, lol), may be a tad dated, but it’s still a lot of fun, and it was one of the first movies of its kind (the “distrust corporations” trope, which is so popular today) and one of the first feature films ever to use computer animation. It also features my favorite Yul Brenner performance, lol!

The movie about the Jamaican bobsled team? I don’t remember him being in that…I would have thought he was dead by then. But I saw that movie quite a while ago, so I don’t remember that much about it anymore, other than that I found it quite enjoyable.

it’s not my opinion, i was quoting straight from that piece i linked because it referenced how yul brynner’s name was in cool runnings. i enjoyed the movie when i saw it, but that was a long time ago, as i haven’t seen it since i was a kid renting vhs tapes from blockbuster.

Nope, I had the thought, too. Probably because the event wasn’t too far ago that some people probably have that area next to the current event’s area (every time people have to buy a strip of land for the new event, you see?). Wild West goes better with Future (SciFi) than it does with SuperHeroes for some reason. Probably the steam punk aspect, mercurymog mentioned.
I don’t think I’m actually going to mix them, though…
I have the future stuff by the 1890s wild west stuff and it just makes me think of Back to the Future movies. But let’s face it, that genre has been done for generations. Arrrrgghhh all art is derivative! 😂

I got one of my mates to start playing. He loves the game but he wants to know why he can’t unlock Moe’s Tavern even though it has a yellow tick on the side of it in his store?
It’s been a while since I was at that level so I couldn’t tell him why. Does anyone know? I think I recall it took me quite a while to unlock Moe’s Tavern+Moe+Marge as well, but I can’t remember why….?
You’ve got to follow the questlines to unlock him. So their xp level may be 15, showing the tick, but their game play hasn’t reached level 15 yet.
Everything unlocks in order. So you need to finish one quest to move onto the next.
But he has a task on the side that says unlock Moe’s Tavern. But when he clicks on Do It, it takes him to the store where they are blocked out, and it also says “Start the Is There An Al-Coholic?” questline, but he doesn’t know what he needs to do to activate the Al-Coholic quest….
He just has to keep completing tasks as Alissa says & eventually he will get to where he wants.

It kills me to admit it… But dammmit… Alabama was amazing. USC looked like a junior high team in comparison.

Ducks looked “meh” at best. Young. Inexperienced. Tough to watch…even at Autzen.
Their recruiting is mad crazy. They already ( before end of last year school wise) got a verbal commit from a then freshman running back at our local high school.
PAC-12 overall looks good, but I think it will be a battle between Big-12 and PAC-12 for the 4th playoff spot. SEC and ACC will earn a spot, Big-10 will get in on reputation. Here’s hoping Oregon has a good year– they are likely the strongest program out West.
I wish that were true thus year. It is likely to be Stanford or Wahington this year. Our team is really young. Four freshman on the O line…

I have one neighbor who apparently didn’t play the Terwilliger event (and has stopped playing entirely from what I can tell). Every time I do the neighbor actions in that town I’m told that Sideshow Bob is in town. Do I still need to find Bob in order not to lower my righteousness stat or did they remove that when he was added as a full character? (well, I guess the most logical would be to delete that neighbor but for some reason I haven’t gotten around to do that)
Just curious…why are you keeping a neighbor who’s clearly left the game for good? Terwillger was a really long time ago!
I still haven’t deleted my neighbors who walked away from the game. I keep them because I like their towns, either as a whole or just parts of it. It gives me inspiration for creating sections in my own town. Also, each event provide characters to tap, and when the event is over it resets the buildings so I never lose out on money or donuts.
I guess it’s because the neighbor in somewhere in the middle of the list. Every time I get to that neighbor I’m reminded to remove her or him but when I’m finished it’s forgotten again and just click the house to get back to my town.
I think it would be great if you could write a guide on how to boost the bonus multiplier. What buildings and decorations that are best for bonus and any other tips that might be useful for getting a higher multiplier. After seeing other people mention how high their multiplier is I have realized that my bonus multiplier is not very high and that other people make a lot more in-game cash than I do. I am aware that the persons I compare with are probably premium players and I am not but I still think that it would be possible to get more than the 118% that I have at the moment. It would be awesome if the guide was in two sections, one for freemium players and one for premium so both kinds of players can find the guide useful. If you decide to do such a guide I would be very thankful. (I did use the search function to try to find a bonus multiplier guide but I didn’t find anything).
Not a bad idea. But remember a lot of players have high bonuses from the tennis courts that were once Springfield heights currency. Or wailing walls that were craftable
The thing is, most of the players with really high multipliers have them because they were able to take advantage of some temporary glitches or situations in the game. The vast majority of my visible multiplier came from the tennis courts situation and the wailing walls crafting situation. Sure, I’ve also purchased and won a certain amount of bonus-multiplying stuff, but that’s over the course of about two year’s worth of playing.
That said, an article on the various items that offer a bonus multiplier would still be good! 🙂
It also helped that some players already got a house farm running before their prices are jack up tremendously. Some non-house farmers players used the increased selling price to earn some cash then too by getting rid of their houses in inventories.
Hello all.
Doing okay with the event. I’m a few days ahead of the calendar, which is always nice. I’ve started to build my future area and as per the norm for me, things have moved around a lot already. I know that some of the items are going to go into storage once the event is over as I’ve not that fond of them. Crafting is going okay. I’m currently working on getting enough for Tomorrow’s Costington’s. It’s slow going and I keep having to remind myself that there is still lots of time left in the event.
Wouldn’t it be fun to see Bender coming in our town by the black hole? ’cause there was a crossover episode between the two shows. Just dreaming…
I had a similar thought yesterday. I have a feeling when they do a Simpsons future 2 event next year that it might be a Futurama event. Anyway I’m crossing my fingers for it.
Question there is a bridge railing with lights on it that many of my neighbors have in their towns around water features, I have searched my store extensively & it is just not there. I know it looks good to,build a bridge. Do any of you know where it comes from? It is even in the other Springfield & those that are at many levels lower than I am. At level 117. Thanks

Thank you for first asking, and then answering this question. This had been driving me crazy.
Carierow, the bridges appear automatically whenever a road crosses over water. So put out , say, a 3block wide water ‘road’, then lay down real road down the middle & voila! Bridges!
(I also spent ages trying to figure out where people were getting these bridges from! lol)
Over the last 10 days or so I’ve been helping out behind the scenes of TSTOADDICTS sister site FAMILYGUYADDICTS, and after plunging in head first and getting a glimpse of the craziness and workload behind a successful blog, I felt I really had to thank Alissa, Bunny, Wookiee and now Patric, (Hi Patric), for what we have here. A few things struck me whilst I was working away at FGAddicts, one was how friendly, helpful and grateful most readers can be, but on the flip side I was also astounded to see some folk look to nit-pick on everything and anything. Instead of being thankful someone has spent hours putting together information they’ve been asking for, they instead feel the need to point out a missing comma, a spelling mistake or question the honest information you give. Unbelievable!!! To be honest I wasn’t sure how to respond to these but let’s just say Alissa stepped in and replied to one of the comments, and in her response I can tell you she took no prisoners.
I also wanted to chat a bit about comment moderation, occasionally I see people here querying why comments are moderated and mentioning the delays it causes with comments being posted to the sites. Well after just over a week moderating comments on FGAddicts I got a very, very clear picture of why comment moderation is here to stay. Even in that short period I was shocked to see some of the vitriol that appears in the pending comments, after what I’ve saw in a short time, I dread to think what Alissa & the others have seen in their years moderating, and please believe me when I say if they ever removed moderation, the comment area would quickly become a horror show. So next time you don’t see your comment appearing on a post within minutes, remember there is a very good reason for it.
But what I really came here to say to the our 3 musketeers, (no wait that’s not right, as with the recent addition of Patric they are now The Gang of Four) , is the following.
I don’t know how you guys manage to combine busy lives whilst fulfilling our constant need for information. I don’t know how you keep up with playing your games whilst grabbing facts, figures and hundreds of screenshots for the blogs. I don’t know how you maintain your love for the game with your heads in it so much. I don’t know how much you spend on Donuts to get us all the information but I know it’s got to be a lot. I don’t know how you sleep with all the information you want/need to share on the site going through your head.
I don’t know how you make it all work out fine, but you do, and finally I don’t know what we’d do without you all, so once again I’m sending a heartfelt thanks to you all for the community & fun you’ve brought to our games.

I straight up had a dream about pur little game last night. Ea added a new storage system for our items including spaces for specific items like stampy and toy soldiers. It was linked to a building so when stored there all the items still counted as if in game play. But took up no space and didn’t have to load and use precious bytes.
Anyway I just thought of it again as I’m watching Simpsons on FX, the one where Apu gets married and Lisa mentioned Stampy.

On the Open Thread, people are welcome to discuss whatever they like provided it’s not mean or hateful (another reason you were edited). I’ll agree I don’t like people trolling and will give you a temporary pass but any further comments like that will just be deleted. So, having made a few hundred donuts with the recent glitches, I am looking to buy some premium stuff to boost my Dollar/XP multiplier. Can anyone advise me which items give the best multiplier for donut return.
The jet engine bike has the best return.
I would argue that the mystery box has a higher overall return, while the jet bike has the highest predictable return. The mystery box is just not predictable, though. I did an experiment a while ago, and I’ll have to dig for the data. I’ll post it when I find it.
I’d love to see the data on that. Once you have all of the unique items, you get a high percentage of crap compared to premium stuff, or at least it seems that way in my experience. But, if you’re factoring in the unique items (characters), then, yeah….for that time thou could be right.

I am loving this event. With the extra payout in act 2, did they also change the levels needed to unlock stuff? I unlocked Astro-house last night and am only about 1000 away from unlocking future Kwik-E-Mart.
Hoping everyone is well. I have most of this week off work as my toddler is scheduled for surgery to repair a hernia. It’s straightforward surgery and I know she will be fine… But it’s still daunting to have your 20 month old go into surgery.
I don’t want to hand back summer. I love summer months!!

Good luck with the surgery. I remember when my three year old needed an endoscopy. It was very straightforward, but it was still hard to get through (for me). I’m sure all will go well. My thoughts will be with you. 🙂
I’ve discovered a cool glitch with the go cart track…. basically you start the go cart race after you’ve cleared your town but before all the xp and cash has auto collected. You want the race to complete when its still auto collecting. If it works you should get between 1 and 4 extra bonus rounds of donuts. In my A town (premium) it has worked every time for the last few days. My B town it works less of the time and it usually only gives 1 bonus round. I KEM farm in both towns, with the xp multiplier on, dont know if thats a factor too. I usually tap a bunch of thumbs and buildings, go to my farm and tap about half, then i start the go cart race and head back to finish collecting from the farm. When it works you hear the bonut round chime but its louder because its multiple chimes going off at once. Let me know if it works for anyone else. Happy tapping!
About how many KEMs do you have in your farm? Trying to figure out how to time all of this out…it seems like to go karts would take longer to finish than it would for me to do my collecting….
I farm between 50 and 60 in my premimum town(504% multiplier) and between 30 and 40 in my B town (around 200%).
Regarding the go cart glitch…. i try to clear my enire town as quickly as possible using the character icon in the top left corner. This means all the cash and xp is left hovering for a while because theres so much and it cant collect it all at once. This is when i start the go cart race, the top payout. It only takes a matter of seconds for the race to complete and all the xp and cash are still being collected. When its finsished the bonus rounds pop up.

Thanks for the clarifications! I gave it a go the best I could before reading this and it didn’t work out, but next time I’ll do it differently, based on the new info. I’m not sure I’m farming enough KEMs for it to work, but there’s no harm in trying! 🙂
I dont think the KEMs are required for the glitch to work. I think its more timing. You have to time it so that some your cash and xp are being collected right when the notification window pops up at the end of the race.
i should add that my town is packed , around 8400 items, so i have some lag. This may mean that it takes longer for my cash and xp to auto collect, allowing me more time to squeeze the race in, than a smaller town.
Or i could be lucky and its an isolated glitch to my town. 🙂
Are you sure it’s not that all that’s happening is that you’re getting all of the bonus rounds you would have gotten anyway, but they’re just delayed and stacked up until the race is over?
Also, the character icon in the corner only takes you to one character at a time, so how does that make it go faster? I’m not contradicting you, just trying to make sure I understand…
The XP bar doesn’t fill up or move at all. Plus i tap the KEMs towards the middle or end of my tapping routine , and all that XP is still there floating after i get the glitched bonut rounds.
Basically im jumping all over the map. I tap the icon, then tap that character, then i tap the icon again and then tap that next character. I do that over and over as quickly as possible. i end up with a town full of hovering xp and cash whuih take awhile to autocollect. Its at this point i start either of the races or the insanity cauldron.
The glitch also works at springfield downs, only 1 round of bonuts.
what up neighborino! just wanted to let you know that i tried it on the go karts, but like sandra, was unable to replicate the glitch. i have a premium 4 hr task for all adults to party at the she she lounge (thanks to never having completed the questline), so whenever 120 or so thumbs are ready there, it’s takes a good amount of time to auto collect. i used that opportunity to race the go karts, but didn’t get a single bonut round. i was wondering if maybe you just tapped a bunch of kems waiting to be built before doing it, and that’s why you got the bonut rounds? i dunno, but if it’s indeed a glitch, it’s one i wanna experience in my town as well… would make betting on that go kart race worthwhile again!
Sup neighbor! At first I thought the same thing about the KEMs, so one time i kept an eye on the XP bar and it didn’t move. Plus, i keep track of my bonuts and the past few days there has been a noticable increase. The glitch bonuts sometimes appear when a questline is triggered or completed. The chilli cauldron seems to do the same. I think it has to do with the notifications of these things popping up when all my xp and cash are being auto collected. Like it glitches and registers it as 100 times the actual xp amount.
i don’t know if it’s a factor or not, but after i start the go kart race i move on and continue to clear my town. I dont stay there and wait for the results. It’s a strange but awesome glitch. Hopefully you and everyone else can enjoy it too.
How are you all doing with the crafting? I would like at least one of everything and it does not look like I am going to make it. I try to tap 3 or 4 times a day but at one robot part per tap and now none for neighbor visits I do not see how it is possible to collect them all. I have had a daily task or 2 to get them but you always have to spend some to get a few. I am wondering if it had not purchased so many of the smaller ones if I would be in a better place but the math still does not work out. I am not even one of the ones who accidentally used them for an upgrade i have always been buying.
I think they need to add a pay for parts with future bucks not just the other way around in the end.
My strategy has been to buy just enough of the item with robot parts to unlock the next level item. I figure that once I get all the levels unlocked I can come back and work on completing the blue prints. Have you been playing the Sci Fighter game as well? That seems to be a decent source of parts for me, but I agree that there are times where it would be nice to have another source for parts.

I’m debating something, maybe some feedback? Im a freemium player and saving madly for Halloween. I tend to only spend donuts on things I love – and not things I “should” get. So, I love the Elysium building… But Frink is the better deal for many reasons…. Ugh. Can’t decide…

One of the tests I use is to ask myself how I’ll feel about having whatever-it-is in my town a couple of months from now. It’s too easy to get swept up into buying something during an event that one might be entirely indifferent to later. (That’s why I try never to buy something just because it earns event currency….if I was going to buy it anyway, then that might make me buy it a bit sooner than later, but, otherwise, I pass.)
So, if you think the Elysium will still bring you joy months down the road, and you’re indifferent to Ladybot, then go with that. Frink will be back for purchase as a regular premium offering once the event is over (I’m assuming….), while the Elysium will probably be gone and may take a while to return. But, if you’ve been wanting Frink, then this really is a good deal for getting him, and it’s a gamble whether he’ll be back as a discounted “yard sale” item later in the year.
Not sure that was helpful, but, ultimately, you just have to go with what your gut tells you will make you happiest in the long run!
Play the game so you love your town. You can’t win, only have fun. Whatever makes you happy, that’s what you buy.

So, here’s a thought… Instead of making the “Parked Hover Car” parked, wouldn’t it have been cool if they had made it look more specially elevated, so it would look like one of those flying cars we were promised would be in the future, when I was a kid? Even better would be if it had, say, three different height options…you could have a few of them scattered around in your future part of town, looking like they were each flying at different elevations. (They would still have to occupy ground space, but it would be like the police blimp or the pirate ship does.) I think EA missed the boat (err….car) on that one! 😉
