It’s Halloween in our pocket-size Springfields! Yes that magical time of the year when our towns turn dark, our water becomes mucky, there are monsters everywhere to battle and (as with all events) there are LOADS of Halloween themed items to spend those sprinkles on!
Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything that looks as awesome as this because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the House Nightmare Willie to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Spider to your Springfield…

I’m lukewarm on this one. It is a fun animation, but I do think it’s overpriced for what it is/does. Bottomline for premium players….if you have fond memories of this episode, are excited about the animation or just really like spiders pick this one up. Otherwise pass…you won’t be missing that much if you skip it.
Freemium
Personally I think this is a freemium pass. It’s just not worth the 75 donuts for freemium players, in my opinion. I’d save those donuts for a character, like Gravedigger Billy, instead.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player, I’m passing on this one. Doesn’t excite me enough to spend the donuts. But whatever you decide just remember this will be leaving our games soon, so make your final decision before it leaves our games on November 15th…

I’ve got 99 donuts and a spider isn’t going to take 75 of them from me. Not sure what I want from the event, but I know I want SOMETHING. I’m not a fan of standalone characters…Sorry Boobarella…so I was debating the grave, but I’m holding out until the end of this act to see if anything else might pop up and interest me.
Disappointed that I missed the entire first act. I didn’t even get to see what I missed 😦 All for the best, though.
Can we really call it a spider with only 6 legs?
You are right cause insects or common bugs have only 6 legs but arachnids must have 8 legs to be considered a real arachnids…it probably lost two legs when the cleaners at the EA office tried to squash it😀

I think that we can’t cause if one persone have 4 fingers on one hand we may justify that saying that he may be a mutation or had be amputated for medical reasons, if a group of people has 4 fingers in the two hand we may call that a particularity of the population sample considering that they have in common the same habitat, environmental condition, ethic ancestors group but in that particular case it’s a too much big group of people ( a city population) with too much variables to justify the four fingers in hands and feet, so definitely I think that we can affirm that they are not human.

I got it, but I, also, wish it was a sandbox until it was tapped. Like several others, I was going to add it to my school playground.
That would be so much better. We should have the option to toggle between the sandbox & the weird creature. If that were the case I’d be much more interested in acquiring it. It’s SO creepy otherwise! RachelS
or the option to choose which way to have it, like a skin with Willie the spider there, or the sandbox until it is tapped
I like that episode and hence bought him. Would be cool if it was a skin of with Willie as Freddy and a task at the sandbox.
Quick question:
When Black Friday comes, is it possible that it features Booberella or is that highly unlikely and I should buy her now, because it seems it’s good to have her for Halloween event currency (annually?) and she has 2 outdoor animations (or only 1?)?
I’d say highly unlikely. If you want her, I’d buy her now.
Hopefully someone will please correct me if I am incorrect. What I recall/noticed is that limited time characters that have been offered for events within the same year don’t come back for Black Friday.

I never never never will buy that cause I am affected of arachnophobia and I screw like a beast every time that I saw a spider so yes this may be my worst nightmare if I have it in my town. At school was very hard to resist because some idiotic schoolmates started placing spiders everywhere also throwing them to me to make me screw and scared me so…no I think that this is a pass for me

He does. It’s not temporary. You have to switch it back and forth.
I know, but the “switch” only happens for 3-5 seconds, not permanent until your next click of the item, which would have been preferred.

A pass for me also – love the episode that it comes from but the spider part wasn’t my favourite element and there are other nifty things to spend donuts on.

I am donut rich and I bought it for my “B” town.
I finally saw it in a friend’s town, and it is pretty cool, but for what it is, my focus is on finally getting Iguana Lady (I already have CCL) with the swamp, and the cobblestone road. I managed to splurge this event on the mystery pumpkin thing twice: got Acorn Kirk and the sepulcher of evil (which is what I really wanted), the scary dock with whatever that fish guy is called, zombie sandwich, cemetery plot with Gravedigger Billy, and the house on spooky hill, so I really can’t complain. I was on the fence for the Hellementary school, which looked really cool, but I would have preferred be a skin, and I did really want the Island of Dr. Hibbert, but couldn’t justify it when faced with the other things I wanted more. I do wish we would have gotten some more building skins for decorating our SF’s. Hopefully, at Christmas they will expand the offerings again, but keep it in mind for next year EA! 😉

I bought it and, while I don’t regret it, I wouldn’t recommend it, either. I wish it would stay as a sandbox until I tapped it, then Willie could come out to play.
I had to stop by and check it out after I saw your comment! Glad I can visit and animate it any time because this is one of the things I’m passing on. I like the way it comes back out of the sandbox.
The animation is cool, I just wanted it for the sandbox. For nostalgic reasons. 🙂

I have a question regarding the Mag-points. I have constructed every item there is (except for the two last ones) in the Construction Yard, there are no more items that will give me Mag-points. I still have four Mag-items to unlock. Have I missed something that will give me more Mag-points or is the only way on getting them by purchasing premium stuff with donuts??
Prizes earned will award mag points…so just keep tappin’
In the Construction Yard I only have 2 more items left to craft, the Haunted Stables and the Shipwreck – yet when I check my MAG items I have four left to get there. I have constructed every item that gives Mag-points but now I don’t have any more. Is there a way to get Mag-points that I’m missing? Or is the only way to get all the items there to buy premium stuff?
New items won will also give you mag points.
I’m guessing that the stables and the shipwreck will give you more than enough MAG points to finish (plus, items on the prize track may award them, too). I’d just wait and see what happens, without worrying too much…in my experience, EA always makes it possible to get to the end of tracks like that without having to buy any premium items (as long as you’re willing to play frequently enough and aren’t a really low-level player).
Will there be a Sib for Gravedigger Billy?
One of my favorites, so I snagged it. Did the same last year with Martin’s math wizard skin.
I was hoping with the release of this one that we’d get a skin for Willy…but it doesn’t seem to be the case 🙁

I LOVED this segment but the animation of it rising out and the fact of having a giant spider just creeps me out!! Had to get it but it will stay as a sandbox for a while.
It would have been WAY better as a skin for Willie because you could have had a ‘chase with Rake’ visual and a ‘Spider’ visual for those who aren’t afraid
I bought it instantly. I really love al things Scottish (haggis included).
I bought him and I love him…I have him looming behind the decrepit house on Blinkies swamp. The house shields the sandbox and he looks great peering into the lagoon.
I just don’t understand though, I feel like Nightmare Willie was an obvious skin choice. I don’t know why they went the other direction.

I’m not normally prone to splurging without waiting for the SIB… but this time, I just couldn’t help it. I was somewhat leaning towards buying it, and then I saw the animation in a friend’s Springfield — that clinched it. I promptly bought it, and don’t regret it one bit. 😀

Another pass for me. But I wonder whether I’ll be able to check out the animation in one of my friendvilles? What does it look like before it’s tapped? (In other words, how will I recognize it in a friend’s town?) I’m assuming that the picture in this post is post-tap….
Guessing you have seen it by now. If not it’s resting state is as bagpipe spider willie. If u tap it, he sinks into the sandbox and then the legs come out first and he rises out of it. Like the episode.
