Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The snow is falling in Springfield, which can only mean Winter has arrived in our pocket-sized towns!  And is in full swing on our devices.

In a change of pace, this Event is broken up into just 2 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the First Act you’re tasked with collecting Antlers (ico_cur_xmas2016_antlers_lg) to unlock each prize!

The First Act 1 Prize awarded at 4,850 ico_cur_xmas2016_antlers_lg is the Goat God Statue, because Ralphie needs one more thing to lick…

  1. I’m looking for a specific solution to the current Christmas game. My elf is visible in his booth, but I can no longer play the catch the elf game with him.

    Thanks.

  2. So I have a chore of sending 6 people to attend the festival. But it doesn’t let me do so. Anyone else had this issue?

  3. I’ve no complaints at all about this event, or about you guys. The singing stones are right up there amongst the best decorations ever. Hours of endless fun. But the Big Question is, will there be bonuts?

  5. Ralph’s animated task is what warmed me up to this event. New style, same old Simpsons.

  7. In case you don’t want to store your singing stones to get the numbers, here’s the sequence in letters coresponding (as best I can) with the runes on the stones:

  8. If you have covered this already, I’m sorry. I’ve looked but couldn’t wade through the comments as well. Should we only hand in as many offerings to complete the daily prize and save supplies for upcoming days? I figure it’s just a strategy and it might not matter to much but I was curious.

    Thanks for all you do running this site! Your walk throughs help me so much with these longer events! Sometimes your advice is the reason I’m able to complete the prize tracks! All you guys do awesome and I really appreciate it all!!!

  9. So, it seems that during this update, Prarie Maggie’s 4hr task ‘Listen to gramaphone music’ has moved from the Simpsons’ House to that huge event hub thing from the Wild West Event? Anyone else notice this? It’s nice that I can now kick her out of the task if it’s time for Where’s Maggie, but that group of Old West buildings is HUGE. Ugh.

    Also, what’s up with neighbor tasks? Do we only get Antlers for the first 30 friend tasks (ie., 10 neighbors)? And, just to whine a bit, why can we only look for one Neighbor Gnome a day? C’mon, EA – make the neighborhood more useful! I really likey being able to drop Prospectors in my neighbors towns during the Wild West Event! Something like that would be good. Or I keep hearing about ‘Community Prizes’ that were available in the past – can we bring those back? ☺

    Anyone else lost the Antlers icon in their Event Task Notebook Thingie on the bottom left of the screen?! It use to tell me I had xxx event currency & needed xxxx event currency to get the ‘next item in the prize track’, with a handy ‘Do It’ button that would bring me to a Pagan to tap (which was very helpful when I couldnt see anymore, but hadnt gotten the ‘there’s no more Pagans in your town!’ message yet. I got the 2nd batch of Runestones, then…nothing. 😢

    Alissa & Co., thank you so much for this site & all that you do for it/TSTO Players/Addicts – it’s helped SO much! Have a great holiday season!

  10. Well, it’s not in the right key, but at least you can play “Funky Town” on the stones.

    Blast it, I was figuring that the Secret Stone was going to round out the octave.

  11. I just wish, especially so in this case, that EA would give us the opportunity to sell the items we may not want but get stuck with when we, as loyalists play this game. Instead of having no other option but to store the items, which take up storage space. Which will eventually reach capacity. Please EA. I think it would make a lot of players happy and ease the pain when we encounter a update that’s not exactly our cup of tea.

    • Items in storage don’t count towards you item count, so no worries there.

    • One thing I’ve wanted for ages was an Attic or Basement in your inventory, where you can send stuff you don’t want and aren’t likely to use, so you can clear up the clutter, but they’re still there in those fusty mouse-nibbled boxes peppered with dust and dead silverfish juuuuuust in case you change your mind years later.

  12. The statue looks good with the other pagan stuff, I am hoping it doesn’t melt after winter is over. While the task is “cute” in all but do we really need Ralph licking yet *another* object?! It would be nice to see a new visible task instead of a reused one.

  13. It’s just a game. If it offends you , skip the event. Personally I am a Christian and I like reading and exploring other traditions and beliefs old and new. Now on another note. I want a herd of reindeer. They must of been offered before I started playing.

    • Yup and now we’re all just trying to move past it and onto business as usual…. 🙂

      • I can see why Tiny Addict always has a smile – her mommy is the most wonderful (fill in the blanks). Let’s hope business as usual isn’t the same ‘ol, same ‘ol old items with different makeup on them. I started during Stonecutters; now so long ago that there isn’t much I can buy anymore. LOL
        The last couple of days I’ve been feeling the old poem “Casey at the Bat” and thought of you guys dealing with this poorly orchestrated event.
        ~ Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
        The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
        And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
        But there is no joy in Mudville (Springfield) – mighty Casey (EA) has struck out.

  14. I am a little confused. People are upset with EA because they are NOT lampooning Christmas? Because all the prior Christmas events did make fun of many of the favored Christmas traditions, and the Simpsons have been poking fun at various religious traditions since its inception. This year they chose to NOT make fun of Christmas, and chose an alternate religion to mock, and I guess the Christian element is angry that they have to share the lampooning spotlight? Is that it? Weird.

    • It’s a little more complex than that. The initial dialogue was over the top in its inflammatory tone. However, you are correct…the game and the show have ALWAYS lampooned religion, albeit a bit more subtlety in the past. Trust me…the dialogue gets worse…at the expense of Paganism. But…it is a game. Choose to play or not. That’s pretty much the way I see it.

  15. I want to comment that I know that many people are not happy about the Winter update BUT I do want to mention one thing that if you are a true fan of the Simpsons then you know that them and Family Guy hold nothing sacred and have for many years and people should know this also and know that EA is just following suit with the way the Simpsons look at things. I am still going to play this update because I find it interesting and a break from the norm of the Christmas Season which at times this season can get to people and people start becoming angry and intolerable and just need a break at times from the parties, the gifts, the decorations and need to think about something other than this season and this update is that break, while people are not happy with it need to see it from EA’s POV and that there is a method to their madness albeit a weird method but one nonetheless. I am going to still going to play it because I am a collector and try to collect all of the characters and outfits that I can and still waiting for Father Sean and Kumiko to return in some form.
